Hello and welcome to
The One Show with Alex Jones. | 0:00:15 | 0:00:18
And Amol Rajan. | 0:00:18 | 0:00:22
And if they make it to Edinburgh in
time, Team Rickshaw. Another tough | 0:00:22 | 0:00:28
day, Matt Becker is in great
spirits. It is the end of the | 0:00:28 | 0:00:33
penultimate day of the challenge!
When we set off, from London | 0:00:33 | 0:00:41
together, Edinburgh felt like a very
long way away but you know what? We | 0:00:41 | 0:00:46
will be there tonight and we will be
on time! Head down, go! We hope we | 0:00:46 | 0:00:57
can see them live at Edinburgh
Castle in about 15 minutes! Our | 0:00:57 | 0:01:02
guest is a big star with the Big
Show, it is Michael McIntyre! | 0:01:02 | 0:01:06
APPLAUSE. | 0:01:06 | 0:01:12
Looking very good. | 0:01:12 | 0:01:21
You spent a huge amount of time at
the Edinburgh Fringe? I had great | 0:01:21 | 0:01:27
times, my first solo show, one
person! And it was by one, get one | 0:01:27 | 0:01:35
free! And that one person could not
get another person to come! Did they | 0:01:35 | 0:01:43
find it funny? Not so much! It
wasn't a great night but things have | 0:01:43 | 0:01:48
really picked up, an amazing city
and an amazing thing that Matt Baker | 0:01:48 | 0:01:52
is doing! We will talk all about
your Big Show which starts on | 0:01:52 | 0:01:59
Saturday. We will hear all the
gossip about the new format, which | 0:01:59 | 0:02:03
is pretty funny! | 0:02:03 | 0:02:05
Wearable health gadgets
are sure to be a huge seller | 0:02:05 | 0:02:08
again this Christmas,
giving us all new ways | 0:02:08 | 0:02:09
to feel guilty about doing
too little exercise. | 0:02:09 | 0:02:11
Even livestock are now
getting in on the act. | 0:02:11 | 0:02:13
Here's Kevin with the lamest
film we've ever made. | 0:02:13 | 0:02:21
Wearable technology. An increasingly
familiar sight. There is a device | 0:02:21 | 0:02:28
aimed at a completely different
market. This lot. This is not for | 0:02:28 | 0:02:35
the High Street, it is for farmers
across the country worried about the | 0:02:35 | 0:02:38
health of their... Sheep! Scientists
say they have created the next big | 0:02:38 | 0:02:45
thing. A product to spot the early
signs of lameness in sheep. Which | 0:02:45 | 0:02:51
could help farmers like Richard
Harris. He has 117 on his family | 0:02:51 | 0:02:56
farm in Northamptonshire. What is
lameness? It is usually caused by | 0:02:56 | 0:03:02
foot rot, bacterial infection in the
hooves. It is not particularly easy | 0:03:02 | 0:03:09
to control but it can affect your
flock badly. Why is it difficult to | 0:03:09 | 0:03:16
spot? They tend to hide it, they
don't sell any signs of lameness, it | 0:03:16 | 0:03:23
is quite frustrating. It is costing
the industry approximately £80 | 0:03:23 | 0:03:27
million every year so Richard has
agreed to test out the product being | 0:03:27 | 0:03:31
developed by the University of
Northampton. Animal welfare's is | 0:03:31 | 0:03:39
running this. Why do they have
mobile phones? These are early | 0:03:39 | 0:03:46
prototype sensors, they are
collecting data about how the sheep | 0:03:46 | 0:03:49
can move and will collect data from
different positions and movement and | 0:03:49 | 0:03:54
we can determine lameness. The idea
will not be for sheep to have mobile | 0:03:54 | 0:03:59
phones around their necks? The next
system is for farmers to identify | 0:03:59 | 0:04:03
lameness at the early stages. The
idea is it will give an alert to the | 0:04:03 | 0:04:09
phone or a database system within
the farm to tell shepherds to get to | 0:04:09 | 0:04:13
their shape much sooner than they
can without technology. I have | 0:04:13 | 0:04:17
visions of Shepherd sitting with a
cup of tea watching his mobile | 0:04:17 | 0:04:21
phone! It would be perfect. The team
have spent two years collecting data | 0:04:21 | 0:04:26
on the movements of healthy and lame
sheep. The device creates a graph | 0:04:26 | 0:04:30
with Orange showing how the sheep
should be walking and blue | 0:04:30 | 0:04:34
representing one that is lame.
Vander shows me how this works on a | 0:04:34 | 0:04:39
sheep known to be lame. We have a
small camera on the lame sheep and | 0:04:39 | 0:04:45
the evidence is incredible, you can
really see it? You can see the | 0:04:45 | 0:04:50
movement. The sensor is picking up
nine different positions and axes of | 0:04:50 | 0:04:56
movement and the lame sheep is
bubbling up and down. This is a | 0:04:56 | 0:05:01
great perspective, we have never
seen this visual representation | 0:05:01 | 0:05:04
before. It is obvious by the sensor
is picking up differences. By | 0:05:04 | 0:05:10
catching lameness early, farmers can
treat the infection with an easy | 0:05:10 | 0:05:14
antiseptic spray. Rather than having
to use antibiotics or, in worst | 0:05:14 | 0:05:20
cases, culling them. It is still
early days but they are hopeful that | 0:05:20 | 0:05:25
it can be utilised by farmers from
2019. Back at the farm, one of the | 0:05:25 | 0:05:31
designers, Doctor Scott Turner, has
brought along what he hopes will | 0:05:31 | 0:05:35
replace those mobile phones. We are
looking at something this time of | 0:05:35 | 0:05:40
size that will either be on the
colour or even smaller to go on to | 0:05:40 | 0:05:44
the years. What will this cost?
Certainly under £10, we are hoping | 0:05:44 | 0:05:53
for a round about £5 or less. Is
that something course it is | 0:05:53 | 0:06:00
conscious of? Cost is essential. We
are looking to get to where the cost | 0:06:00 | 0:06:04
per unit is low enough below what it
is costing in terms of lameness but | 0:06:04 | 0:06:11
it makes it worthwhile for the
farmers to invest. Time to test it | 0:06:11 | 0:06:15
some of Richard's flock. The
technology has picked up that one of | 0:06:15 | 0:06:20
these sheep that Richard Douglas
healthy is showing early signs of | 0:06:20 | 0:06:25
lameness. Is Richard impressed? I
think this technology will become | 0:06:25 | 0:06:30
more to the floor and if they can
make it more practical I'm sure | 0:06:30 | 0:06:34
farmers will take to bed and
anything that can be brought forward | 0:06:34 | 0:06:37
to help keep on top of it is going
to be beneficial to us. It looks | 0:06:37 | 0:06:45
bizarre! I would not want to wander
around with a mobile phone strapped | 0:06:45 | 0:06:50
to the back of my neck. Talking
about lameness... That is weird! You | 0:06:50 | 0:06:57
were looking rather lame yourself
earlier this year? Yes, I broke my | 0:06:57 | 0:07:03
foot. You look like a 12-year-old
child! Or somebody skiing without | 0:07:03 | 0:07:11
enough equipment! I broke my foot
playing football with my children | 0:07:11 | 0:07:16
not very well. Wasn't their fault? I
ran to the ball, I will get it and I | 0:07:16 | 0:07:22
jumped over the log and I twisted it
and it broke and there wasn't a | 0:07:22 | 0:07:26
great doctor on holiday. People know
about rest, ice, compression and | 0:07:26 | 0:07:32
elevation. I had never heard of that
and he said, do not forget, rice. | 0:07:32 | 0:07:41
Keep going with the rice. I spent
the first 24 hours sprinkling rice | 0:07:41 | 0:07:49
on my feet! It was only after I
googled it...! It obviously worked. | 0:07:49 | 0:07:56
Full motion. Big Show on Saturday.
Hilarious brand-new feature. Called | 0:07:56 | 0:08:05
midnight game show. Explain... It is
very tiring but it ends up very | 0:08:05 | 0:08:10
funny. Is this it? I have been given
the keys to somebody's home and he | 0:08:10 | 0:08:18
knows nothing about it, set up by
his wife, and we creeping in the | 0:08:18 | 0:08:23
dead of night, and we have a game
show. You will see... Here I am. He | 0:08:23 | 0:08:30
is fast asleep! And we have stopped
it there. Yes, he wakes up... You | 0:08:30 | 0:08:40
have an actual game show? Celebrity
guests, loads of people piling into | 0:08:40 | 0:08:45
the house! Anybody who looked out
the window... We have an orangutan, | 0:08:45 | 0:08:50
there is a telly tubby, the world's
tallest man. Has anybody punched you | 0:08:50 | 0:08:56
or called the police? It has been
extraordinary, one gentleman had | 0:08:56 | 0:09:01
already broken up, it is the
funniest thing I have ever seen! One | 0:09:01 | 0:09:07
of the two people in bed did know it
was going to happen. The wife or | 0:09:07 | 0:09:11
girlfriend or husband sets up the
partner so it is on them but one man | 0:09:11 | 0:09:16
had broken the lock on or taking out
the rubbish and his final thought | 0:09:16 | 0:09:19
before going to bed was I hope
nobody breaks in and he woke up with | 0:09:19 | 0:09:23
us and we could not get the light
on! There was this camera crew, | 0:09:23 | 0:09:29
terrifying! But they all loved it
and it also loved, we had a Spurs | 0:09:29 | 0:09:34
fan and Aussie or delays at three
o'clock in the morning in his Spurs | 0:09:34 | 0:09:37
kit. Please never come to my house
at three o'clock in the morning | 0:09:37 | 0:09:43
because I might try to kill you! Is
that a threat? Live, on-air! The | 0:09:43 | 0:09:51
other side is, when I have a burglar
I will think it is Michael McIntyre! | 0:09:51 | 0:09:55
That is true, we hope as the series
goes on, when people hear a noise at | 0:09:55 | 0:10:00
night, they think it could be asked!
But check anyway because it may not | 0:10:00 | 0:10:05
be! It is really fun! That is the
new feature. The unexpected star of | 0:10:05 | 0:10:11
the show is still very much present.
It has gone up this series, so many | 0:10:11 | 0:10:17
people have been nominating, we have
so many people and we are very | 0:10:17 | 0:10:20
ambitious with the way be surprise
people who think they are coming to | 0:10:20 | 0:10:25
the theatre for another reason. You
go to extraordinary lengths! What | 0:10:25 | 0:10:29
was the most extreme? The biggest
one was when we turned the theatre | 0:10:29 | 0:10:36
into a hotel. We had a girl from
Ireland who thought she was on a | 0:10:36 | 0:10:40
romantic break and we got everybody
to stay in the auditorium and be | 0:10:40 | 0:10:44
rebranded the theatre, we build a
reception and a corridor to the | 0:10:44 | 0:10:48
stage and other rooms and she got to
her room in the middle of the stage, | 0:10:48 | 0:10:51
the bellboy to occur around and he
said I know it is all about the view | 0:10:51 | 0:10:55
and he opened the curtains! And she
collapsed! That almost sounds quite | 0:10:55 | 0:11:02
stressful for the contestants! How
do you make sure they are still | 0:11:02 | 0:11:06
having fun? It is a dream to
perform, they are completely | 0:11:06 | 0:11:11
overwhelmed but that is the point of
the stand. In the Christmas show, we | 0:11:11 | 0:11:14
had a band who went down a slide, he
thought he was taking part in a | 0:11:14 | 0:11:20
Guinness Book of Records attempt...
He did not know that actually he | 0:11:20 | 0:11:25
slid through a fireplace dressed as
Santa Claus! And he ended up like | 0:11:25 | 0:11:31
this! Everybody on their feet! You
had a very good surprise for Ed | 0:11:31 | 0:11:36
Balls and his phone? Yes, we have
amazing people playing Celebrity | 0:11:36 | 0:11:42
Send To All. There he is, the
funniest one we have had! You sent a | 0:11:42 | 0:11:48
message from his phone and what is a
response? Ultimately, it was | 0:11:48 | 0:11:54
inviting people around for a hot tub
party at his house! With DJ Stormzy! | 0:11:54 | 0:12:03
And Delia Smith and Anton Du Beke!
Everybody believed that and all | 0:12:03 | 0:12:08
sorts of people, Peter Mandelson and
his vicar was on his way! His | 0:12:08 | 0:12:12
figures said I will finish my sermon
and grab Mike Towell! I find it | 0:12:12 | 0:12:17
subsequently he got in trouble
because people were on their way to | 0:12:17 | 0:12:22
his house! Peter Mandelson was on
his way to Ed Balls, his house? That | 0:12:22 | 0:12:26
was the text! Danny Dyer playing
centre all, which is as funny as you | 0:12:26 | 0:12:35
can imagine and Miranda... Very
exciting. Michael McIntyre's Big | 0:12:35 | 0:12:42
Show returns this Saturday at 8:10pm
on BBC One. We can find out about | 0:12:42 | 0:12:49
Team Rickshaw, last night they found
out that they have raised £1.5 | 0:12:49 | 0:12:53
million and a sincere thank you to
all of you who have donated. That | 0:12:53 | 0:12:57
did lift their spirits albeit with
other early morning start. We're all | 0:12:57 | 0:13:05
in good spirits because it is am,
normally there is a three in the | 0:13:05 | 0:13:11
alarm clock! Feeling good? We are
going to Edinburgh! The penultimate | 0:13:11 | 0:13:17
day of the challenge and as we waved
goodbye... Gregg, who has got us up | 0:13:17 | 0:13:25
some of the toughest hills, are
starting to feel the effects of the | 0:13:25 | 0:13:29
week. How are you filling? It is
just my leg. It is still begging. | 0:13:29 | 0:13:38
You know what? You have raised over
£1.5 million. Wow! The good news is, | 0:13:38 | 0:13:47
the rain has gone! Welcome to radio
rickshaw, weather is nothing but | 0:13:47 | 0:13:54
blue sky! -- Werther is. # I can see
all obstacles in my way... | 0:13:54 | 0:14:13
Sabah's life so far has been a fight
for survival, as a baby she was | 0:14:16 | 0:14:20
diagnosed with cancer of the kidneys
and lungs. Thankfully, she beat the | 0:14:20 | 0:14:25
cancer but had to have a kidney
transplant. Four years ago, it also | 0:14:25 | 0:14:30
failed. What do you remember about
losing your kidney? Everything. I | 0:14:30 | 0:14:37
remember the doctor coming to me,
Sabah, your kidney is at 50%. It | 0:14:37 | 0:14:44
will not last forever. I want to
introduce you to dialysis. That is | 0:14:44 | 0:14:52
where I became... This pessimistic
child who did not want to talk to | 0:14:52 | 0:14:59
anyone or do anything. I just
stopped contacting friends because I | 0:14:59 | 0:15:05
knew I could not see them. Because
there was not allowed to leave the | 0:15:05 | 0:15:09
hospital. You think you are burden.
I have to tell myself, you have lost | 0:15:09 | 0:15:16
your kidney, you can look for as
long as you want or you can make | 0:15:16 | 0:15:19
your life into something positive. I
am planning to just do everything I | 0:15:19 | 0:15:26
can whilst I can. How is your body
feeling? Stronger than ever. I am at | 0:15:26 | 0:15:33
the best I have never been my life.
And the rickshaw has paid me feel | 0:15:33 | 0:15:38
invincible. | 0:15:38 | 0:15:45
It goes to show your life is like a
roller-coaster. Forget a box of | 0:15:45 | 0:15:51
chocolates. Thank you! Support the
team and I have received along the | 0:15:51 | 0:15:59
way can't help but inspire and move
us. | 0:15:59 | 0:16:01 | |
CHEERING
Well, what a team of writers that | 0:16:01 | 0:16:08
I've had the pleasure of being
alongside for a week or so now -- | 0:16:08 | 0:16:14
riders. Each and every one of them
have given this their absolute all. | 0:16:14 | 0:16:20
You know, Sabah is so much fun. I've
also really enjoyed the company of | 0:16:20 | 0:16:28
Luke, because he'd never cycled on a
road and suddenly he comes out, the | 0:16:28 | 0:16:32
wind in his face, and he's relished
every single bit of that. And then, | 0:16:32 | 0:16:37
for him, time is so precious.
Precious time with his sister, Amy. | 0:16:37 | 0:16:43
You know, take Shona for example,
who has this degenerative condition | 0:16:43 | 0:16:50
and she's making the most of life
while she can. I actually think that | 0:16:50 | 0:16:57
this challenge has come at the
perfect time for Liv, when her loved | 0:16:57 | 0:17:01
one, like Liv's dad gets snatched
away, to deal with all of that when | 0:17:01 | 0:17:08
you are a child is very tough. And
there's one character in the team, | 0:17:08 | 0:17:13
Greg, who was abandoned as a child
and yet somehow he's found the inner | 0:17:13 | 0:17:23
strength to keep going. | 0:17:23 | 0:17:26
So what team, sorry, I have to take
a little breath there. Let me have | 0:17:32 | 0:17:40
one more cheerful Team Rickshaw,
while I get my breath back a second. | 0:17:40 | 0:17:44
CHEERING
I think they are incredible, I | 0:17:44 | 0:17:46
really do. It's hard to believe, as
we stand here, we've been on the | 0:17:46 | 0:17:52
road for a week now. It's been a
whole week. And 444 normal miles and | 0:17:52 | 0:18:00
one Royal Mile later, we've arrived
at Edinburgh Castle! | 0:18:00 | 0:18:02
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Where are you? Here you are. And do | 0:18:02 | 0:18:10
you know, this place, this place for
me, I was saying to Luke on the way | 0:18:10 | 0:18:15
here a few miles ago, how strange it
is for me because this very spot is | 0:18:15 | 0:18:20
where all of this craziness started.
This was where the first Rickshaw | 0:18:20 | 0:18:25
Challenge started for me, seven
years ago. It's been incredible | 0:18:25 | 0:18:27
since then, you know, tonight, this
is the penultimate finish line for | 0:18:27 | 0:18:35
Team Rickshaw and it was my starting
line. Ever so soon, Shona will be | 0:18:35 | 0:18:41
riding the rickshaw at the cobbles
in front of this wonderful crowd | 0:18:41 | 0:18:43
here but before she does, here's how
you all at home can do your bit. If | 0:18:43 | 0:18:49
you'd like to show your support for
Team Rickshaw and pledge donation, | 0:18:49 | 0:18:52
you can do. You can text, and Liv
will tell us. | 0:18:52 | 0:18:58
You can also donate any amount
online. Shortly, Shona will be | 0:19:31 | 0:19:35
arriving with the rickshaw. I've got
Shona's family with me, Mum, Helen, | 0:19:35 | 0:19:42
dad, Callan, and her sisters will
stop I have to start with the | 0:19:42 | 0:19:47
thought because we haven't hardly
travelled through one part of the UK | 0:19:47 | 0:19:50
without finding one of your
relatives! You've got so many | 0:19:50 | 0:19:53
relatives in the UK. What have they
been making about what your sister | 0:19:53 | 0:19:56
has been up to, Charlie? They are
all really excited. We have | 0:19:56 | 0:20:01
relatives all over the country and
they've all done their best to try | 0:20:01 | 0:20:04
and come along the route and cheer
the team on. OK, OK, and you have a | 0:20:04 | 0:20:09
very welcome you have the same
condition as your sister. Shona is | 0:20:09 | 0:20:13
doing everything she can to raise
awareness for it. How important is | 0:20:13 | 0:20:19
it for everybody out there that has
got this? That's right, my sister is | 0:20:19 | 0:20:23
doing like lots for it. The
awareness used to be here, but now, | 0:20:23 | 0:20:34
it's gone up to here. So she's
raising more and more awareness with | 0:20:34 | 0:20:41
all the miles she's covering. Very
well said, very well said, let me | 0:20:41 | 0:20:46
come into the middle because I want
a word with mum. I'm going to hold | 0:20:46 | 0:20:50
my hands up and say I might have
underestimated your daughter at the | 0:20:50 | 0:20:53
start of this. We had a little chat,
didn't we? We did. I have taken my | 0:20:53 | 0:20:59
hands off the handlebars and she's
just flowing. It's incredible to | 0:20:59 | 0:21:03
cycle beside her and a very special
moment for me was when we saw you in | 0:21:03 | 0:21:08
Windermere. There was thousands of
people lining the streets, calling | 0:21:08 | 0:21:11
out her name. You were there and she
was riding that bike, so low. What | 0:21:11 | 0:21:16
was that like, mum? It was
fantastic, to see her riding and all | 0:21:16 | 0:21:21
the people around cheering for her.
She's grown in confidence. It's | 0:21:21 | 0:21:26
fantastic to see. What do you think
this week has done for her? | 0:21:26 | 0:21:30
Phenomenal in terms of memories and
the friends she is made. The team | 0:21:30 | 0:21:34
are really tight-knit, they really
look out for each other. She will | 0:21:34 | 0:21:36
take that with her. Would you like
to see her now? Shall we bring her | 0:21:36 | 0:21:42
in, | 0:21:42 | 0:21:42 | |
in, Edinburgh?
CHEERING | 0:21:42 | 0:21:43
We obviously couldn't come to a
place like this without hearing a | 0:21:43 | 0:21:46
few drums or a few pipers, and we
have musicians from the army School | 0:21:46 | 0:21:51
of bagpipe music and the Highland
drummer here, so I'm going to go to | 0:21:51 | 0:21:57
the major and drop my arm and
hopefully, all things magical will | 0:21:57 | 0:22:00
happen. Here we go. Quick march. | 0:22:00 | 0:22:06
BAND PLAYS.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE | 0:22:14 | 0:22:21
In you go! Welcome to Edinburgh
Castle! I'm exhausted. Its speech | 0:22:21 | 0:22:35
time, you said to me, I not going to
be on the telly tonight? Well, you | 0:22:35 | 0:22:42
are, Buddy, because its speech time
now. This is the cool thing because | 0:22:42 | 0:22:46
for Luke's speech we sent a magic
carpet so that the Wirral wonder | 0:22:46 | 0:22:51
could get onto the West End stage.
I've watched Aladdin, I've got a lot | 0:22:51 | 0:23:00
of time and effort into this, so
it's something I'm going to live | 0:23:00 | 0:23:03
every moment of. My heart is really
pounding for him, really nervous. | 0:23:03 | 0:23:08
I'd like to introduce you an
extraordinary young man, please give | 0:23:08 | 0:23:13
a warm welcome to Luke.
APPLAUSE | 0:23:13 | 0:23:20
Hi, I'm Luke, I live on the Wirral
with my mum, dad and twin brother, | 0:23:20 | 0:23:25
Jake. I have cerebral palsy and for
me it means that I need to be in a | 0:23:25 | 0:23:31
wheelchair or on crutches, as
walking is hard. I also find it | 0:23:31 | 0:23:35
difficult to use my hands for some
tasks. I like to be as independent | 0:23:35 | 0:23:39
as possible, so it's tough, but I
have to ask for help to get by. When | 0:23:39 | 0:23:44
I was 11 I had major surgery that
would in the long-term help my body. | 0:23:44 | 0:23:49
After the operation I spent weeks
lying flat in bed, recovering. I'd | 0:23:49 | 0:23:55
never felt so trapped or so unhappy.
Eventually my body healed and I had | 0:23:55 | 0:24:02
to relearn how to walk. Throughout
all of this there was one place | 0:24:02 | 0:24:06
which has always helped me. It's
called Stick and Step, they help | 0:24:06 | 0:24:14
children with cerebral palsy and are
supported by children in need. Since | 0:24:14 | 0:24:17
the age of two they've been there
for me, providing physio, teaching | 0:24:17 | 0:24:22
skills and being an emotional
support for me and my family. This | 0:24:22 | 0:24:25
year I'm taking part in the Rickshaw
Challenge. I'd like to do this to | 0:24:25 | 0:24:28
show everyone that people with
cerebral palsy can do incredible | 0:24:28 | 0:24:33
things and inspire other disabled
children. I also want to raise as | 0:24:33 | 0:24:36
much money as I possibly can for
such an amazing cause. So please dig | 0:24:36 | 0:24:42
deep and give whatever you can.
APPLAUSE | 0:24:42 | 0:24:50
# I'm like a shooting star
# I've come so far #. | 0:24:56 | 0:25:01
That was fantastic, that. What a
speech. Yeah, just to see the | 0:25:01 | 0:25:05
support I got at the end, absolutely
amazing. The theatre was amazing and | 0:25:05 | 0:25:09
the whole support. Around the whole
day, even the show was amazing. That | 0:25:09 | 0:25:14
was probably one of the best days of
my life. Was it really? And, that | 0:25:14 | 0:25:20
really choked you, didn't it? It's
hard to see your team-mates talking | 0:25:20 | 0:25:24
like this. Yeah because over the
past week I've got really close with | 0:25:24 | 0:25:28
Luke and to see the pictures of
where he was back then to where he | 0:25:28 | 0:25:31
is now its just amazing. Liv, we've
done a lot of talking about a lot of | 0:25:31 | 0:25:36
things along the route, one of which
is singers. Oh, yes. Oh, yes, one of | 0:25:36 | 0:25:43
your favourites, Robert Plant was in
the studio when we set off. He was, | 0:25:43 | 0:25:46
what a great guy. Well, do you know
what, he's been watching as well. | 0:25:46 | 0:25:51
He's got a little message for you.
Hi, Liv, it's Robert Plant here. | 0:25:51 | 0:25:57
I've been following your progress in
the Rickshaw Challenge and you're | 0:25:57 | 0:26:03
doing incredibly well. My best
wishes to you all. I cannot believe, | 0:26:03 | 0:26:07
I'm going to have to go into
training for next year. | 0:26:07 | 0:26:10
LAUGHTER
That was just before he went on | 0:26:10 | 0:26:16
stage! That's amazing! I know. What
a guy, I don't even know what to | 0:26:16 | 0:26:21
say. I Bob Neill have to play in
competition with these lads' | 0:26:21 | 0:26:25
football messages, that's the idea.
I can't believe I'm saying this but | 0:26:25 | 0:26:29
tomorrow is our last day, tomorrow,
one day left! So let's have a little | 0:26:29 | 0:26:36
luck. Here is the route, we will be
leaving at 7am, eating the Kelpies | 0:26:36 | 0:26:41
for 12, a bit of hype there, nothing
to worry about! We will hopefully | 0:26:41 | 0:26:47
cross the finish line lives on the
Children in Need programme, as long | 0:26:47 | 0:26:50
as we get there before midnight
we'll have nailed this thing! It's | 0:26:50 | 0:26:54
going to happen. I just want to say
a massive thank you. I know we've | 0:26:54 | 0:26:58
been throwing out there and asking
for texts to donate all week but | 0:26:58 | 0:27:02
you've been donating in your drives
and I've met lots of people who have | 0:27:02 | 0:27:05
said that they use the Rickshaw
Challenge every year to donate and | 0:27:05 | 0:27:08
to show their support, so thank you,
thank you, thank you, to everyone | 0:27:08 | 0:27:13
who's has done that over the years
because like I said early on, it all | 0:27:13 | 0:27:16
started in this very spot seven
years ago and since then it's | 0:27:16 | 0:27:20
extraordinary to say that we are
this close to the £20 million mark. | 0:27:20 | 0:27:27
So to everyone who has given over
the years, thank you and just hold | 0:27:27 | 0:27:32
that thought, £20 million is this
far away. Thank you, hopefully | 0:27:32 | 0:27:35
tomorrow, what word BAND PLAYS
Children in Need night, we will | 0:27:35 | 0:27:40
cross the finish line. I can't
believe they've only got one day | 0:27:40 | 0:27:46
left! Gosh, it's hard, isn't it,
watching. I find it hard to watch. | 0:27:46 | 0:27:54
Luke, doing his speech. Every time
you come on, Michael, I'm like this. | 0:27:54 | 0:28:00
Going to bits. It's amazing what
they do. It's incredible. You are | 0:28:00 | 0:28:06
such an inspiration, incredible
stuff. Good luck tomorrow, guys, | 0:28:06 | 0:28:09
thank you to everyone who has
supported Team Rickshaw. You've been | 0:28:09 | 0:28:13
sending in your photos of them
passing by and they are amazing. | 0:28:13 | 0:28:16
Here's Angela, in Jodrell Bank, Mrs
Audrey, in Tring, thank you. | 0:28:16 | 0:28:22
Thank you, so much, for all the
photos on the amazing support. | 0:28:27 | 0:28:31
Thanks for going out to support
them. Matt said it and it does mean | 0:28:31 | 0:28:35
the world to them. We'll see Team
Rickshaw tomorrow, crossing the | 0:28:35 | 0:28:39
finish line, but Michael, you are
about to embark on a big journey. | 0:28:39 | 0:28:43
You want to talk about my tour, it
doesn't feel right, it's about Team | 0:28:43 | 0:28:47
Rickshaw! Take it down! Take-off
that the picture. You have a touring | 0:28:47 | 0:28:53
the New Year and I'm sure you'll be
back again. I feel really bad about | 0:28:53 | 0:28:59
it. We'll make you go on a rickshaw!
OK, fine! Michael, thank you so | 0:28:59 | 0:29:06
much. | 0:29:06 | 0:29:08 | |
His Big Show returns this
Saturday on BBC One. | 0:29:08 | 0:29:10
Good luck to Team Rickshaw
on their final day tomorrow, | 0:29:10 | 0:29:13
I'll be cheering them along
from here with Greg James, along | 0:29:13 | 0:29:15
with the EastEnders stars dancing
for Children in Need. | 0:29:15 | 0:29:21
They always do a big extravaganza,
don't they? See you tomorrow night | 0:29:21 | 0:29:25
at 7pm. Have a great | 0:29:25 | 0:29:29 |
