'Previously, on Alesha's Street Dance Stars we saw eight crews
'lock, pop and crump their way through some stunning routines.'
I was smiling watching you guys.
You guys are amazing. Your musicality was on point!
It's ridonculous. That's what it is. Ridonculous!
'The choreography, showmanship and technique were astonishing.
'The battle continues, but who's got the swagger
'to make it through to the next round?'
MUSIC: "Smoking Bass" by Max D Loved
Welcome back to Alesha's Street Dance Stars,
my quest to find Britain's best young street dance crew.
We've travelled the UK and have invited the best of the best.
The standard was breathtaking but in this studio, on this stage,
only the strongest acts will survive.
This is round two of the qualifiers.
'Hundreds of crews applied. 24 made it to the qualifiers.
'Today, eight will perform.
'With five places in the next round, they've got to go big
'or they'll be going home.
'Only one crew will be crowned Alesha's Street Dance Stars 2011.'
The stage is set. The crews are psyched.
All we need now are some street dance experts.
I'm Turbo, international street dance star.
I've worked with artists such as Madonna, Will Smith,
Whitney Houston and Jamelia.
Without street dance, there's no Turbo. Just like that.
MUSIC: "Stronger" by Kanye West
I'm Kenrick H20 Sandy, choreographer and pioneer of UK street dance.
Famous people I've worked with?
Mis-Teeq, Sugababes, Leona Lewis,
Fergie off Black Eyed Peas, Peter Andre, Plan B.
Technique is very important,
It's the difference between someone who's very good
and someone who's OK.
I'm Lizzie Gough, a choreographer and professional dancer.
I've performed with Take That, Dancing On Ice,
a hip-hop show called Blaze.
Choreography's very important in street dance.
There are techniques. I just like to see fresh ideas.
'Alesha will be backstage to fire up our crews before they perform.
'First, a crew who like to bring characters to their routine.
'Laughing in the face of competition,
'a canny wee lot from Scotland.'
ALL: We are Street Kids and we are from Glasgow! Boom!
-How do you cope with all the girls, guys?
Love it! I just want to wish you the best of luck.
Let's boogie! Let's boogie to Wonderland!
Two, three, four!
MUSIC: "Boogie Wonderland" by Earth, Wind And Fire
I like the way you held the stage. The stage was your house.
# Ye cannae shove yer granny off a bus
# Oh, ye cannae shove yer granny Cos she's your mammie's mammy
# Ye cannae shove yer granny off a bus, yee-ha! #
I have not laughed like that at a performance in a very long time.
I'm enjoying myself and I'm actually crying tears.
Cos I can't shove my granny off the bus. Well done, guys!
The thing for me is you need to work on your posture.
You're very upright. You need to get a bit more funky.
Be careful not to throw away your points. I saw a lot of this.
Stick it, so if I took a picture, all of you are the same.
I felt Glasgow here, everything was there. I felt that, yeah?
Glasgow's in the house, right?
# Oh, you cannae shove yer granny off a bus
ALL: # Oh, you cannae shove yer granny off a bus
# Oh, you cannae shove yer granny Cos she's your mammie's mammy
# You cannae shove yer granny off a bus, yee-ha! #
'Next up, they're precious, shiny and expensive.
'No, not Alesha's shoes, the name of our next crew hoping to sparkle.'
We're the Lil' Diamondz and we're from Hartlepool.
How long have you been together?
Well, just a few months, but we get as much practice as possible.
I wish you the best of luck. Keep our diamonds in the air.
MUSIC: "She's Got That Vibe" by R. Kelly
I'm happy to see some young people with so much foundation,
so much understanding of flava and groove.
I really liked that one! I did. That was really good.
As soon as I heard that, "Vibe!" I wanted to get down myself!
It's important that the foundation was clear and you showed me that.
I absolutely loved it.
Your locking was on point.
I could tell between each style. With your popping, the scarecrow.
I don't have anything bad to say about you guys.
I need to find a red T-shirt and black shorts.
I'm gonna jump on stage with you!
Woo! Come on Lil' Diamondz!
I've been standing like this the whole time!
'The next crew from Essex perform at school fetes and children's parties.
'Don't be fooled - these boys mean business.'
We're K Lic and we're gonna blow your minds.
-You guys warmed-up and ready to go?
-Gonna smash it?
Fingers crossed. Go and do your thing. Good luck.
Nice! Nice look!
MUSIC: "Gettin' Over You" by David Guetta & Chris Willis
Your intro piece, I like that. I wanted to see more of it.
I've seen the shaking move you've got there. I see you, watching me!
All right? Watching you! Watching him!
The style you're doing, the digital style,
the energy and dynamics need to be more clearer in general.
Push in those areas, cos you've got good stuff.
I need you to project it even more.
Be more aware with your timing and extending the moves.
So if I took a picture, you're at that limit.
Otherwise, it was fun, it was upbeat.
-Well done. Come on, tell me. How was it?
-What did you think of the judges' comments?
-Well done, and I hope to see you guys again.
'Meet Paradox, one of the youngest crews in the contest.
'They describe themselves as a bunch of comedians.
'Can they be deadly to the competition?'
We're Paradox and we're from Stoke!
Who's the boss of this crew?
-Is that true, boys?
-Because they know that
-You're really the boss?
MUSIC: "More" by Usher
Madam, your flips are ridiculous!
MUSIC: "Working Day And Night" by Michael Jackson
She's a little star!
Guys, that was really good!
And for your age group, for that kind of skill, really, really good.
Be confident and look at us. Look at the smiles now! See?
That's what we need to see, so be more confident in how you perform.
You have it! You're looking down.
Flips were brilliant. Believe in yourselves. I want to see more.
Well done! Well done!
-Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!
-Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!
'The crews we've seen so far have been incredible.
'Street Kids from Glasgow.
'Lil' Diamondz from Hartlepool.
'K Lic from Essex.
'And from Stoke, it's Paradox.
'Up next, a dedicated crew
'who practise four times a week and dream of becoming professional.
'With one crew member injured, could it ruin their chances?'
We're Super 6 and we're not called Super for no reason.
Super 6 with a broken leg!
-Are you standing on the side doing a crutch dance?
-They're Super 5 now.
-Oh! Bless you!
MUSIC: "Rock This Party" by Bob Sinclair feat Cutee B
There was so much going on.
You have so much trust with each other, which is great.
I'd be terrified if I was doing that routine.
Well done, guys.
You lot are Super 6, and you are five on stage.
-Where's the other person?
-In the audience.
She's got a hairline fracture in her ankle.
-We made last-minute alterations.
-The changes definitely work.
I really loved the way that you went into your tricks.
You didn't go with the normal, OK. You used each other.
You flipped off each other and threw each other. I like you guys.
I loved it from beginning to the end.
The trust that you guys have is ridiculous.
When you flipped over him with the chair.
Your foot was an inch away from his face.
I loved it. I enjoyed it.
-How was that?
-I thought it was wicked.
-It was sick.
-It was sick!
-I thought you sick. You are the little secret weapon.
'The next crew enjoy freestyling.
'Let's hope they impress dem judges.'
We're Dem Lot. We're from Essex!
-Ready, Dem Lot?
-Off you go. Good luck.
EVERYONE: Thank you.
MUSIC: "Get Up Offa That Thing" by James Brown
She is so cute!
MUSIC: "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO feat. Lauren Bennett & Goonrock
I love the choreography at the beginning. Really nice flow.
-What's your name?
-You guys are fierce.
You guys have got this facial thing going on.
I saw you at the beginning...
I love the choreography at the beginning.
Really nice flow. Some of you had really nice style extensions.
Be careful that when it goes into the locking I see the difference.
The wrist rolls, I just saw up and didn't appreciate the move.
-Well done, guys! Well done!
-Well done. How are you feeling?
Did they give you any constructive criticism?
Tighter. And our locking.
Make the wrist roll look as in a roll, not just up.
So you found what they said helpful? Give yourselves a round of applause!
'This cheeky fearless bunch met at a youth company,
'and describe their swagger as having a street hip-hop vibe.'
We're Nu Flo and we're from Stafford.
-Nu Flo's ready to show us what they're made of?
I'll be watching and I'll see you when you come out.
MUSIC: "aNYway" by Duck Sauce
Oh! These guys are good.
I love the fact that everyone's as strong as each other.
I really, really liked it.
It was very creative. It was very refreshing and very mature.
It's left me very interested in you guys.
Watch your timing in the popping section.
Go and train those bits together, so you all look the same.
TURBO: Me, personally,
I didn't like it.
I loved it. LAUGHTER
Your spatial awareness of each other is really incredible.
I'm like, "You're going to get kicked in your neck."
You guys didn't do that.
Well done. Yes! Yes!
That's how you do it, right? Yes, curly!
Well done, darling. How was that, guys?
-What was the best thing the judges said?
They want to see more.
We loved it out here, so you should be proud of yourselves.
'They were the troublemakers in class,
'but say they've become focused since discovering dance.
'They hope for top grades today.'
We're Mischief and we're from Southend in Essex!
The name of your crew is Mischief. Are you mischievous?
MUSIC: "Church" by T-Pain feat Teddy Verseti
She's wicked! You can tell she's got the character.
I really liked your transitions with your routines.
You guys dance and then you move into another position.
There's a bit where you've got a bit of swagger.
"Yeah! This is us! Look at me! This is Mischief!"
-Give us a bit more.
-Really enjoyed it.
Just be more confident cos you're really, really great.
You have so much more potential.
I like the cheeky little ending. I love that.
Well done, girls. And guy.
-Well done. You pleased?
The crews have done all they can, but have they done enough?
Kenrick, Lizzie and Turbo have an agonising decision.
Who will be celebrating their success?
'With only five places in the heats,
'the judges must send three crews home.
'The standard of street dance has been immense.
'Here's a reminder of all eight performances.
'Super 6 from Coventry.
'Dem Lot from Dagenham.
'Nu Flo from Stafford.
'Mischief from Southend-on-Sea.
'Earlier, we saw Street Kids from Glasgow.
'Lil' Diamondz from Hartlepool.
'K Lic from Basildon.
'And from Stoke, Paradox.'
We've got eight crews. Three need to go home.
-I did actually like them.
For me, compared to the others, I don't think it was enough.
I think these guys.
I'm definitely feeling these guys.
-This means the world to us.
-Dancing's our life.
ALL: Pick us because we're awesome!
Both groups, I can look and say,
as messy as each other, probably?
It's an overall performance, I think.
Definitely. Both really creative.
These guys were more innovative. And daring.
We have an on-going nervous feeling. We don't know the results.
They had parts in there that made me cry with laughter.
We've got a good chance.
I don't think they're one of the strongest.
-I think they need to get their foundations more.
This has brought us together as friends. We're almost like family.
So, the three that we're not going to keep, we need to decide now.
So I'm thinking...
Are we agreeing?
We have these five and these three?
-I think it's a good mix.
-Cool. That's our five.
Let's find out which of our crews have made it through.
'The crews going through to the heats are...'
Good luck to the other crews, but these diamondz are gonna shine!
-Good luck to the other crews.
-K Lic will bring something new.
-We're through to the heats!
'Sadly, we'll be saying goodbye to...'
'Which means the last two places go to...'
We know there's a lot of good crews but we've put in the hours.
Mischief's in the heats! Woo!
'Congratulations to Lil' Diamondz, K Lic,
'Super 6, Nu Flo and Mischief.
'Coming up next time on Alesha's Street Dance Stars,
'fantastic performances from Masters Of Motion,
We're nervous because we've got this far. We want to try our best.
We haven't been together long but we get as much practice as possible.
We've been doing GCSEs and practices lately. It's hard balancing the two.
We had some good feedback, positive.
It's, like, really weird!
