Hello, and welcome to the show that puts you in charge

of transforming your set of wheels from bonnet to exhaust.

You might know me as a gamer,

but I'm also mad about motors.

So, I've put together a supercharging team,

my mechanic, Rebecca,

and cool car nerd, Sideways Sid,

to make over family cars across the UK.

And today, we're helping a family

in Lancashire

funk up their family wheels.

Hi, my name is Brandan. I'm 12 years old.

I love vlogging and my inspiration is Ali A.

I like him because he's really fun and his content is entertaining.

So this is my mum, she's starred in most of my videos,

-and what crazy things have I got you to do?

-Eating those sour sweets.

But what would I not catch you doing?

You will not get me eating a chilli.

-Are you sure?

-No, Brandan.

So, this is my brother, Chris.

He doesn't live with us, but we always like playing games

and I generally always win, cos I'm obviously the best!

-No, you're really not.

-Do you want to play now, then?

-No.

-Exactly.

Along with gaming, I really love scooters,

and I also like cars.

Cars that have been modified, that's why I think my car is really boring.

These plastic grilles are really discoloured.

Mum knocked off the mirror and so that's why there's tape around it.

All the interior, terrible.

Even though I don't like this car, it is a big part of our family.

My mum takes me to the school, to the skate park,

and if this car broke down, everyone would be devastated.

Have you been able to look after it?

Oh, yeah, I always look after it, keep it well maintained.

Ali A, please help us supercharge my car.

I've got plenty of ideas, my mum does not know what I've got planned,

which makes her nervous and that just makes it more fun!

So, guys, welcome to Superchargers.

Brandan, you are actually a man after my own heart.

-What got you into vlogging?

-Basically, you're my inspiration.

Awesome, that's so cool.

Now, Mum, you're putting all the power in Brandan's hands.

-Are you a little bit nervous at the moment?

-Very nervous, yeah.

Is there anything you definitely don't want done to this car?

I don't want a big 4ft spoiler on it.

-You don't want a big spoiler.

-No.

-OK. OK.

If you don't know already know, a spoiler is a fin on the back

of a car that gives it a sporty, racing look.

But more on that later.

I don't want a big, wide exhaust pipe.

I don't want to be heard coming down the road.

Well, we've talked a little bit about the car, but I'm actually

going to grab my vlogging camera.

Brandan, let's take a look at your car.

So the car is really dirty, as you can see,

and the colour is absolutely disgusting.

-You don't like the colour?

-The wheels, I don't like these,

they're all rusty and stuff.

-I see what you mean.

-The seats are really uncomfortable.

OK. So many things we can improve here.

So, Brandan, we are actually going to be doing some design

brainstorming right here, right now.

Obviously, your mum and your brother can't see it,

so they're just going to have to imagine what we are looking at,

cos it's only us two right now.

So, let's kick it off with this one, what do you reckon?

-No. Not really.

-Not into that, OK.

-Can you imagine that colour? What do you reckon?

-No.

My mum would probably ground me for like ten years!

OK, we've got to be careful, we don't want to get you grounded,

that's going a little bit too far.

I hope he's just going to keep it not too over the top.

-You like that colour?

-Yeah.

Just not too much.

Mum and Chris, let's just imagine you threw on a big spoiler

on the back and a big exhaust and you didn't like the colours,

what would you feel having to drive the car then?

I just don't want people pointing and laughing at me as I'm driving

down the road. Just keep it sensible, please.

If Brandan puts a massive spoiler on the car, I think it'll be awesome.

Now, it is time for me to take the keys,

because this is the last time you're going to see your car before it is

transformed. You have to pass them over.

Here we go. Brandan, you can keep hold of them. There you go.

Next time Mum sees her car,

it will have been completely supercharged.

Handing over the keys to Brandan

makes me feel a little bit apprehensive, really.

From now on, Brandan is in the driving seat.

I'm excited that the car is in my hands, but

it's a shame because I have to walk to school now!

-..a car vlogger and encyclopaedia of motors,

to build on the secret ideas Brandan already has for his mum's car.

Today, Sid's brought him to a motor festival in Lancashire...

-So we've got a few exhausts there.

-They look quite cool, don't they?

..where car fanatics come to show off their pride and joy

and their loud exhausts.

LOUD RUMBLING

So, Brandan, when you're with Ali A, you talked about some of the

different colours that you was going to do on the car?

I picked yellow for the main colour and black.

So you're trying to make it look boy racer like?

Not really. I'm just trying to make it look casual.

And then have you got a design for it, I suppose?

Yeah, I've got a design here.

What's that on the back? It says, "Keep out, Mum!"

So this is like a top secret file.

-Yeah.

-Go on, let's have a look, let's see what you've got.

You want a black spoiler?

-Yeah.

-So you want the wheels done in black and you want slightly tinted

windows and you want twin exhausts?

-Yeah.

-Are you sure it's not a boy racer look?!

This festival is full of motors with lots of modifications, or mods.

Special features the owners have put in

to make them stand out in a crowd.

All of the modified cars look really cool and how much money

they've put into it, making it sound great and look awesome.

And there's one mod Brandan's really got his eye on.

So in case you don't know what a spoiler is.

Normally sat on the rear wing of a car,

and I'll try and explain this in the most simple fashion.

It's what keeps the car on the ground.

It gives you plenty of downforce.

The bigger the spoiler, the bigger the downforce.

Sid, that was far from simple.

-What do you think of it?

-I think it's quite cool.

I like the spoiler, but I don't think that would fit on mum's car.

-So the rear spoiler on this is a bit too big?

-Yeah.

This boy really knows his mind.

Let's see if I can turn his head with some sweet seats.

Pop inside, what do you think? Quite cool, isn't it?

I love this car, yeah. It's absolutely luxury.

The seats are really comfy.

They are. I mean this is diamond-quilted leather seating.

It just feels and smells expensive.

The interiors on the Bentley were really nice.

They were like a limousine.

As soon as you go in, it were pure luxury.

-How does it feel sitting in this?

-It feels like I'm a VIP.

It feels like I'm a billionaire who lives in a mansion!

I want to have a go on one of these.

-Do you want to have a go?

-Yeah, sounds fun.

-Let's do this.

It's like being a hamster!

Time to change your name to Upside Down Sid.

From luxury seats to giant spoilers, Brandan's seen it all.

But at home, his mum is still in the dark about his ideas.

I'm dreading what Brandan's going to be doing to it.

All the neighbours are going to say,

"What has that woman done to her car?"

People staring at it every time you're walking past.

I think it will be a little bit embarrassing.

Spoiler alert, Mum, if Brandan sticks to his secret design,

you could be the talk of the town.

Wow! That zorbing looked like so much fun.

I really, really want to give that a go now.

But before Brandan totally finalises his secret design,

he needs to make his family wagon roadworthy again.

His mum is convinced the car is well maintained, but Rebecca has some

surprising news.

This is my mechanic, a car-mad racing driver...

..who loves getting her hands dirty fixing up motors.

I'm afraid to say my team of mechanics and I have found

quite a lot wrong with your car under the bonnet.

So we're going to have to really get stuck in today.

-Are you up for the challenge?

-Yeah, let's get into it.

From a broken exhaust to dodgy censors,

Brandan's car has loads of issues

to choose from.

But we're starting with a simple

safety fix he can really get stuck into.

You don't have to be a genius to work out that there's something

wrong here. What happened, Brandan?

My mum accidentally hit it with the shopping trolley!

Oh, no!

-Shall we change it?

-Yeah, let's do it.

First up, removing the interior panel.

Very good, you're a natural.

Some fixes on your car are simple, but don't try them on your own.

Stick with an expert like Rebecca.

-Would you like to keep that?

-Um, no!

That looks good. We've got a new mirror fitted.

-And, hopefully, my mum doesn't knock it off.

-Let's hope not.

I felt nervous before I came to the workshop,

because I didn't know what I was in for.

But it were fun working with Rebecca, because she's really cool.

That is an alternator belt and yours is old

-and so we need to replace it with a new one.

-Yeah, sounds good.

The alternator belt uses the engine's power

to drive the car's alternator,

that's the part of the car that recharges its battery.

No battery would mean no power,

so you couldn't even start the engine.

Let's get it in the air. Press that button.

Working on the belt were quite hard cos you had to loosen up

three bolts, one at the top and a few under the bottom.

Can you see all of the cracks in the rubber?

-Yeah.

-And if you compare it to the new one,

it's all nice and supple and soft?

And that's the old one, so it needs changing.

-The belt is on. That's better, isn't it?

-Yeah.

I didn't realise my car had so many safety issues.

I thought, like, the only safety thing you needed was the seat belt

and a good driver.

Aww, you've been brilliant.

to his final design.

At home in Lancashire,

Brandan's getting prepped for his makeover meeting with Sid.

One of the things I hate most about my car is the seats.

Because the seats are really uncomfortable and boring.

So that's why I'm using this online seat designer

to design my own personal seats.

I just need to change the stitching to yellow.

Oh, yeah, it looks awesome.

So it's decision time and I've sent Brandan to work with my design team

and finalise the outside look of his mum's car.

-What colours have you got in mind?

-Yellow and black.

-So is this the sort of yellow you're thinking?

-Yeah.

-Yeah?

Black on like the windows and across the sides and stuff.

Brandan's getting on really well with the designer,

he knows exactly what he wants.

Could you put some black stripes up there?

Oh, yeah, I want the wheels black as well.

Yeah, looks quite cool, that.

I think the car looks absolutely mega.

This is well up my street.

Sid loves it, but what will Mum think?

He keeps winding me up, saying your car's going to be this colour,

that colour, which is making me more nervous every day.

Those bold colours will certainly be a shock.

Brandan has decided to replace his rusty old wheels

with some flashy new ones.

These rims are really cool,

gloss black, but what will really set them off are these, rim blades.

They sit on the edge and this will give it a nice contrast between the

black and the yellow.

Yeah, it looks cool. These wheels definitely stand out.

I've still got this big wide exhaust at the back of me mind, the spoiler.

Do you think he'll really do that to me car?

Er, yes, mum, he most definitely would.

And the luxurious seat covers Brandan designed

are proving an excellent choice.

I tell you what, Brandan, it's really nice in here.

It's a massive transformation and it works really well with the exterior

-of the car.

-Yeah, I agree.

The seats are really comfy now. So I like the diamond stitching.

I'm liking the look of Brandan's motor,

but I know he loves being on two wheels as well,

so Sid's got a surprise.

I'm really proud of myself.

Cos I never thought I could make a car that looks as good as this.

on the back of the car. My own special edition.

Where's my Sideways Sid one, Brandan, what's that all about?

Jealousy's a terrible thing, my friend, but how is Brandan

feeling about showing his supercharged car to his mum?

I don't know how she's going to react, but she says she doesn't want

a massive exhaust and a massive spoiler, so I'm getting really

worried about that, because I don't want to get grounded.

where today we will be revealing Brandan's brand-new supercharged car

to his mum. But, first of all, Brandan,

I'd like to present you with a Superchargers MOT certificate...

-Thank you.

-..which means that your car is now safe to drive.

Do you remember, Brandan, what your car used to look like?

The colour's ugly, the car was boring,

the car was absolutely embarrassing.

Is there anything you're thinking, "Oh, I've done this,

"and maybe Mum won't like it?"

Just probably hearing about two things she might not like

-or something.

-So, Mum, are you a little bit nervous?

I'm very nervous.

He keeps saying he's put a big 4ft spoiler on the back

-and a big wide exhaust.

-Oh, no.

All that there is left to do is to take a look at the car.

-So, guys, why don't we... ALL:

Oh, what are we thinking, Mum?

-She doesn't know what to say!

It's fantastic. I love it.

Brandan's car has gone from ordinary,

to outstanding with a bold black and yellow colour scheme,

mini spoiler and matching wheel trim.

-Guys, want to get a closer look?

-Yeah.

What do you think of the colour?

I love yellow. It's just big, bright, yellow.

-Amazing, amazing.

-Sunflower. I love it.

-You put this on yourself, didn't you?

-Yeah.

-Do you like them, Mum?

-Absolutely fantastic. I love them.

-And, I've just noticed...

-Yes?

-That spoiler is absolutely brilliant!

-I love it.

-Do you like it? It's not too big, cos you worried it

-would be a huge spoiler.

-I thought it would be big.

That is really nice.

Brandan has made his mum's car unique with my signature on the back

and a phat new exhaust.

-Wow, it's not big.

-OK. Not too bad.

-That is brilliant.

-OK. Good.

-Yeah.

On the inside, Brandan has added matching accessories

and his old seats have been replaced, with a bit of leathery

luxury inspired by his trip to the car festival.

The seats are yellow and black with diamond stitching,

so it's like a VIP car.

-Oh, I'm overwhelmed with it. High five.

-Nice.

Mum, I think that all that's left to do is to give you the keys

so you can drive your brand-new supercharged car

for the very first time.

-Thank you!

-So, I'm going to jump out and let you guys get comfy.

So this has been another successful transformation

by my Superchargers team.

Brandan now has the mod-ed car of his dreams.

And Mum absolutely loves it.

She even liked the spoiler and the exhaust.
