I've just been checking on the meerkats.

Mr Hammond, my boss, wants to count them later

to see just how many there are.

I've just got time for a quick cup of tea before the big count begins.

Hi, Jen! Everything OK?

I've just come up to see if you'd like a nice cup of tea.

No time for a tea break, Andy. We've got a major problem.

-What's the matter?

-The meerkats have escaped from the Savanna Dome!

They're running all around Safari world.

-Someone must have accidentally left their gate open.

Yes, I was rushing around, trying to get everything ready for Mr Hammond

when he comes to count the meerkats. BEEPING

Oh, dear! That's Mr Hammond calling now! Um...

-Hello?

-Hello, Mr Hammond.

-Ah, Andy!

I was about to start counting the meerkats.

The funny thing is, there don't seem to be any meerkats here to count.

-Yes, meerkats do live underground.

-That's right - they do.

Perhaps they're hiding in their burrows.

I'll see if I can find them. Here, little meerkat!

What are we going to do?

We need to get the meerkats safely back to the Savanna Dome!

In the wild, meerkats all make an alarm call to send

all the other meerkats home to safety.

Then that's what we need - a meerkat alarm call!

It's a bit like the Savanna Dome back at Safari World,

only much bigger. Any info on where to land, Jen?

I've located a group of meerkats nearby, Andy.

Good job. I'm going in.

Ah! This looks like an ideal place to land.

Well, according to Jen's calculations,

the meerkats should be around here somewhere.

I don't want to scare them, so gizmo? Size of a baby meerkat.

Maybe if I pretend to be like the scorpion, he'll leave me alone.

OK, Mr Scorpion! Look, I'm just like you. I've got pincers too!

I don't think this is going to distract him for very long.

Ho-ho! Meerkats to the rescue!

Saved by meerkats! Look at that!

I don't suppose one of you could make the alarm call to send

all the other meerkats back? Argh!

I think he likes me. Whoa!

He seems to be carrying me back to the meerkat colony. Great! Whoa!

Argh!

Look - meerkats everywhere!

I just need the noise to send all the meerkats home.

it's the meerkats who are on lookout for danger who make the alarm call.

So I just need to find one of those.

And I don't know what's going to make them sound the alarm.

I mean, they didn't even seem to be scared of a cobra!

Look - one's asleep...

..one's catching ants...

..and one's digging for grubs. Hey!

-You're breaking up, Andy.

-Stop it!

Oh! You're covering me in dirt! You got a tasty grub, though.

SQUEALING

Listen! It's a meerkat alarm call! Yes, finally!

It's warning the other meerkats that there's an eagle in the sky,

and the meerkats are listening to the call and running home.

That's exactly the sound I need! Right, now's my chance!

Gizmo, set to record. Oh, no! It's covered in dirt.

BEEPING Oh, great!

Now there's no meerkats TO record!

HE SIGHS

Hang on, though. The sentry's still on duty. Excuse me?

Would you mind making the alarm call again? I really need it!

BARKS

Oh! Don't worry, you lot. It's OK - the eagle's gone now!

-Come in, Andy. We really need that meerkat call.

-Don't worry, Jen.

It seems the meerkats were hiding in their burrows after all.
