Hello! I'm Andy and I work here at Pickles' Animal Park.

It's my job to look after all the animals, like Tim the tortoise here.

Mr Pickles asked me to brighten up his enclosure. It's really important

that all the animals have nice homes to live in. Isn't that right, Tim?

At first I was a bit shell-shocked!

-Shell-shocked get it.

-"Armour" comedian, but I've got used to it!

Ah, good. Well, Tim here is a pancake tortoise.

That doesn't mean he eats pancakes,

no he likes eating leaves and plants.

'Andy, Andy. Come in, Andy. Over.'

Hello, Mr Pickles, Andy here, receiving loud and clear. Over.

'Have you decided what you're going

to do with Tim the tortoise's enclosure yet?

Yes, sir, I've left him a picture of me

and some nice bright flowers. Over.

Lovely main course, now it's time for dessert.

Oh, no! Tim's eaten all the flowers. Over.

'Well, you need to find something else to put in there, Andy,

'and make sure it's not something

'that tortoises like to eat next time! Pickles out.'

Oh, dear, what am I going to put in Tim's enclosure that's nice

and bright, but he won't end up eating?

Hmm, I know, I'll ask Kip. Back to the workshop. See you.

-Ah, hello, Kip.

-Hi.

-What have you got there, then?

Oh. It's a photo album.

I've been looking at the pictures of all the exciting places we've

been to and the different animals we've seen on our wild adventures.

Ah. Do you mind if I have a look?

Not at all!

Oh, look, we've got the lions, and the elephants. The giraffes...

and the meerkats... I didn't know you'd taken these pictures!

Well, you'd be surprised what I get up to in the Kipmobile

while you're with the animals, Andy!

I'm sure I would! You've got space for more pictures here.

What I'd really like to do is to is take some pictures of really

unusual animals that I've never seen before!

Hmm, unusual animals?

Well, I know a place where there are some really strange animals!

-Really?

-There are some animals that are covered head to toe in spikes

with massive tongues, and there are others with huge rubbery bills

that have been around since the age of the dinosaur!

And there's an animal that's so strange

and so different to anything you've seen before,

there's nothing quite like it on this earth!

Wow! I'd love to take photos of those animals for my album!

You know what this means, don't you, Kip?

BOTH: Time to go on a wild adventure!

-Well, what are we waiting for?

Where to, Andy?

Australia, Kip, the strange animals we're off to see all live there!

Ah. Then Australia it is!

Whoooooah!

This looks like a good place to land.

Right. Here we are, Kip,

and I think this is where we'll find our first strange animal!

Ooh, I can't wait, I wonder what it'll look like?

Maybe it'll be a huge fire-breathing dragon! Grraah!

Andy, it's not going to be a huge fire-breathing dragon, is it?

-Ha!

-No, Kip, but it is covered in spikes!

Oh, er... Oh, well, I think I'll stay here and make sure...

that nothing with spikes comes along

and bursts the tyres on the Kipmobile.

Could you take the pictures for me, Andy?

Oh, yeah, sure! See you soon, Kip!

Now, I've got a feeling

that we're going to find our first strange animal really soon.

And here it comes!

'Kip, check this little guy out! It's called an echidna.'

Er, Andy, I thought you said this animal was strange?

It looks a lot like a hedgehog to me.

'Yes, but that's not why it's strange, take a closer look

'and watch for when it eats!'

Wow, that tongue is huge!

You see, it needs the long tongue to reach the ants that are in the wood.

What happens is that it breaks the wood with its claws and then

it uses its long sticky tongue to grab as many ants as it can!

Wow! Right, hold still, little buddy. Say cheese.

Wow, that made a great photo for my album! Echidnas are amazing!

'Yeah, they are, aren't they?

'But wait until you see the next strange animal I want to show you!

-'Come and get me, Kip.'

-On my way, Andy.

Oh, this is nice, Andy, so where is this next strange animal?

Well, it lives under the water, Kip.

Hey, Andy, why don't you use my wonderful water wading boots?

I keep them in the back of the Kipmobile just in case.

You know how I hate getting my paws wet.

Aw, Kip, you really do think of everything, don't you?

I try, Andy, I try.

OK, Kip. I tell you what.

Why don't you stay here just in case the Kipmobile starts to sink?

Phew. Ha-ha-ha.

Now the next animal I'm going to show you is strange,

but really cute!

And here she comes. She's called a platypus.

Hey, Kip? What do you reckon of her?

Oh, that's a really big nose she's got!

'It's like a massive duck's beak!'

Yes, it's called a bill and it's not as hard as a beak,

it's actually quite rubbery like the soles of these waders.

And they use it for sensing food with.

It looks like it's got the body of an otter and the tail of a beaver.

Andy, that is one strange animal. Can you get me a photo, please?

That's incredible!

Yeah, the platypus is so different to the echidna we saw earlier.

These are amazing animals, Andy!

They are, but the best is yet to come.

We're going to see a really weird animal now!

OK, Kip, are you ready to see the strangest animal you've ever seen?

-I'm ready, Andy!

-But I should probably stay here in the...

What! Don't worry, you don't have to go anywhere because...

Here it comes! Look!

Whoa! What is that?

It's called a thorny devil!

Wow! I've never seen such a strange-looking creature!

It's incredible, isn't it?

He's just hatched from an egg that's been buried in the sand

and it's crawled its way up to the surface for the very first time!

He must be happy to be here! It looks like he's dancing!

It does, doesn't it?

He's not dancing, though,

he's actually looking for his favourite food - ants!

And they can eat up to a thousand a day.

What are all the spikes for, though, Andy?

Well, Kip, they're to stop predators from eating them.

So, Kip, are you happy with all the photographs that we've taken?

Oh, yes, Andy!

I've got pictures of the most amazing animals I've ever seen,

but there's still room for one more photo.

Hmm. I wonder what it could be?

Well, I've got a couple of ideas. Ahem.

Really?

I can't see anyone or anything worth taking a picture of

-other than the amazing dancing thorny devil!

-Yeah?

Ooh, got something in my shoe! Hello, Mr Pickles, Andy here, over.

'Have you found something red to brighten up the tortoise enclosure

'that Tim the tortoise won't want to eat? Over.'

Yes, I have, sir.

I've got some lovely red sand!

-Over.

-'Oh, smashing, Andy, that's perfect! Pickles out.'

Well, what do you know? Andy saves the day again!

I'm like a superhero...like... Super Andy! Or Mega Andy...

Or how about...? Hah! Sandy Andy!
