I'm Ricky.

0:00:020:00:04

I live in Bristol.

0:00:040:00:06

I work as an animator, which is lucky, because I love art.

0:00:060:00:09

Goal!

0:00:090:00:10

I live for art. I even dream of art.

0:00:100:00:13

I draw, I paint, I make things.

0:00:130:00:17

Nailed it.

0:00:170:00:18

I hang out with my mates -

0:00:200:00:22

Gavin, Michelle, Rich and Sarah.

0:00:220:00:25

-It's me.

-Most importantly, I make ninja moves.

0:00:250:00:29

Some people call me the...

0:00:290:00:30

Today, I'll show you how to give yourself a helping hand.

0:00:330:00:37

Yeah, check that out.

0:00:370:00:39

We'll be bowled over with a tasty treat.

0:00:390:00:41

Oh, yeah!

0:00:410:00:42

And things get surreally weird when we dream up something strange.

0:00:420:00:46

Because today it's...

0:00:480:00:49

It's a new day.

0:00:560:00:58

I just had the strangest dream.

0:00:580:01:00

I'd better get my ninja on.

0:01:000:01:02

And my clothes.

0:01:020:01:03

I've been having some really strange dreams recently.

0:01:190:01:21

I need to write this one down in my journal.

0:01:210:01:24

I was having an argument about famous artists with a lobster.

0:01:260:01:29

Well, I like Salvador Dali.

0:01:310:01:34

Dali is so overrated.

0:01:340:01:37

You know nothing of the art.

0:01:370:01:39

All right, no need to get crabby.

0:01:390:01:41

I know what you're thinking -

0:01:440:01:46

why does a lobster speak with a French accent?

0:01:460:01:48

And I don't know. And I also don't know why he was giving it all that.

0:01:490:01:54

Anyway, time to quit daydreaming and do some art.

0:01:540:01:58

I've had so many dreams recently, I feel a bit tired.

0:01:580:02:02

I need a hand. Or maybe I need...

0:02:020:02:05

the Art Ninja giant hand.

0:02:050:02:08

So, I've got a nice big piece of card

0:02:090:02:12

and, using my hand as a guide, I'm going to draw a massive hand.

0:02:120:02:16

Lovely. Cut that out.

0:02:210:02:23

It's looking pretty good.

0:02:280:02:29

I need a strap so I can wear the hand,

0:02:290:02:31

so I'm going to make that by rolling up a piece of corrugated cardboard.

0:02:310:02:35

I'm going to hold that together with some masking tape.

0:02:370:02:39

And do another one.

0:02:420:02:43

It's looking pretty good.

0:02:450:02:46

Now I need to pad it out to look like a real hand.

0:02:460:02:49

So, I'm going to roll up some newspaper into sausage shapes

0:02:490:02:52

and wrap them round the fingers. Go round like that.

0:02:520:02:55

I'm using masking tape just because papier-mache sticks to it better.

0:02:550:02:59

Sticky tape has kind of got a glossy coating and the glue

0:02:590:03:01

doesn't take to it very well.

0:03:010:03:03

Now I'm doing the palm.

0:03:070:03:08

Have a look at your own hand and see where the muscle's built up.

0:03:080:03:11

So, I've got this big pad here for my thumb. There.

0:03:110:03:14

And then I'm going to wrap some newspaper around the wrist.

0:03:210:03:24

I'm wrapping whole pages over like this just to smooth it off a bit.

0:03:240:03:28

Right, it's all held down nice and tight, ready to papier-mache.

0:03:280:03:32

So, I've got some mix here, two parts glue, one part water,

0:03:320:03:35

and some little squares of newspaper.

0:03:350:03:37

I'm going to give it a good, generous covering.

0:03:370:03:39

You need to do maybe two or three layers of this and that's just

0:03:420:03:45

to stiffen it up and make it nice and strong, ready for painting.

0:03:450:03:48

It's messy, but so relaxing to do.

0:03:540:03:56

Right, I'm going to add a bit of detail to the front now.

0:03:590:04:02

That is going to be some nails.

0:04:020:04:04

So I've cut out some card.

0:04:040:04:05

I'm not going to papier-mache over the tip of the nails so the nails

0:04:100:04:13

still have a nice sharpness to them.

0:04:130:04:16

And just one layer should do it here.

0:04:160:04:18

That needs to dry.

0:04:210:04:22

Nailed it!

0:04:240:04:26

That's ready for painting. My flesh colour.

0:04:260:04:29

You can mix up a colour that matches your skin.

0:04:290:04:32

Great. I need that to dry and to add some detail,

0:04:410:04:44

so I'm going to use some ninja skills.

0:04:440:04:47

Yeah, check that out!

0:04:470:04:49

Now, I've added some detail here with some darkening of the knuckles

0:04:490:04:52

to give them definition, and I've painted the nails to make them look

0:04:520:04:55

more realistic. Now for some finishing touches.

0:04:550:04:58

How about a thumb ring made from gold card?

0:04:580:05:03

And a nice friendship band made from plaited paper.

0:05:030:05:06

Well, I think that deserves a big hand.

0:05:060:05:08

APPLAUSE Thank you.

0:05:080:05:11

You don't have to make a giant hand.

0:05:170:05:19

How about a big, hairy foot with colourful nails?

0:05:190:05:23

Or a monster claw?

0:05:230:05:25

It gets a thumbs-up from me.

0:05:270:05:29

So many dreams.

0:05:310:05:33

Oh, here's one where I'm free-falling.

0:05:350:05:38

Let me see if I can remember it.

0:05:380:05:40

Whoa!

0:05:400:05:41

SEAGULL SQUAWKS

0:05:410:05:44

Arrrk! Are you the Art Ninja? Can I have your autograph?

0:05:440:05:47

I can't right now, it's just a flying visit.

0:05:470:05:50

Whoa!

0:05:500:05:51

Wake up, Ricky, it is the famous Belgian artist Rene Magritte.

0:05:530:05:58

Well, I hope you're having some surreal dreams, Ricky.

0:05:590:06:03

Surreal. Hm.

0:06:030:06:05

My art was very surreal.

0:06:050:06:07

I often put objects in front of each other.

0:06:070:06:11

In life, everything we see hides another thing.

0:06:110:06:15

Anyway, Ricky, I see you are still asleep, so I'd better go.

0:06:150:06:18

Toodle-pip, as you English say.

0:06:180:06:22

I don't know why.

0:06:220:06:23

It's a new day. I'd better get my...

0:06:270:06:30

Oh, I must have fallen asleep on the sofa.

0:06:300:06:33

And I don't know why, but I feel the urge to make a hat inspired

0:06:340:06:38

by Rene Magritte. So, I've got a long strip of black card.

0:06:380:06:41

I'm going to measure it around my head.

0:06:410:06:44

You need to make sure the hat fits!

0:06:440:06:46

Not too tight. There we go.

0:06:460:06:49

I'm going to hold that in place with some sticky tape.

0:06:490:06:52

And cut off the excess.

0:06:540:06:57

I'm going to get a bit of black card and I'm going to draw a bowler hat,

0:06:570:07:00

as Magritte often featured them in his paintings.

0:07:000:07:03

I'm using a white pen here so you guys can see it on the black card.

0:07:030:07:09

I'm going to cut that out.

0:07:090:07:11

I'm cutting inside the white line

0:07:130:07:15

so there'll be no white on my finished piece.

0:07:150:07:17

Rene Magritte famously painted a figure with an apple in front of

0:07:190:07:22

their face, but I'm going to do a burger.

0:07:220:07:24

So we need to get some cotton thread ready

0:07:240:07:27

to hang on the inside of the hat.

0:07:270:07:30

There we go.

0:07:300:07:32

I've got three little strips of card that I'm gluing together to make

0:07:320:07:35

a buffer to hold the burger away from my face.

0:07:350:07:39

Pop that on the inside of my hat.

0:07:390:07:40

And stick that onto my band.

0:07:430:07:45

Now, it's already pretty fetching,

0:07:470:07:50

but it's going to look even better soon.

0:07:500:07:52

Now to make my burger.

0:07:520:07:54

So, I'm drawing out its different layers.

0:07:540:07:56

The top bun. That's the beef patty.

0:07:560:07:59

Or it could be veggie. Here's the bottom part of the bun.

0:07:590:08:02

Now I'm going to paint my separate layers.

0:08:110:08:13

To get the right bun colour

0:08:130:08:14

I've got some white, yellow, gold and brown.

0:08:140:08:16

Now, using the same colours I'm going to move on to the top bun.

0:08:200:08:22

If you want to try this at home, make sure you put some paper down.

0:08:220:08:25

I'm adding a bit of darker brown to the edges of the bun

0:08:280:08:31

and blending it in to give it a bit more shape and form.

0:08:310:08:34

Finally, for the patty, which is a beef patty -

0:08:340:08:36

it's going to be darker,

0:08:360:08:37

so I'm going to mix the brown with a bit of black.

0:08:370:08:39

There we are.

0:08:420:08:43

The top of the bun here, I'm adding seeds with a white pen.

0:08:430:08:47

If you don't have a white pen, you can use paint and a fine brush.

0:08:470:08:51

As a last little finishing touch, I've cut out some coloured card.

0:08:510:08:54

I've got some cheese, lettuce and tomato.

0:08:540:08:58

And now I'm going to glue all the layers of my burger together.

0:08:580:09:01

Here we go.

0:09:030:09:04

Bit of healthy lettuce.

0:09:050:09:07

Couple of bits of tomato.

0:09:070:09:09

Finally, the bun on the top.

0:09:090:09:11

There we go, that is looking totes delish.

0:09:140:09:17

Now I'm going to attach it to the thread on the back of my hat.

0:09:170:09:20

And that's just with a bit of sticky tape.

0:09:200:09:23

It's time to put on this tasty hat.

0:09:230:09:25

Oh, yeah!

0:09:260:09:28

Rene Magritte was known for painting his pictures

0:09:310:09:34

with a beautiful blue sky. There's no blue sky out there today,

0:09:340:09:37

so I'm going to dream one.

0:09:370:09:39

HE SNORES

0:09:390:09:41

You could also make this top hat with hanging pineapple.

0:09:410:09:45

Or how about this crown and cupcake combination?

0:09:450:09:48

Nice.

0:09:480:09:49

KNOCKING

0:09:490:09:51

-Hi, Gav.

-Wow, that's a big yawn.

0:09:550:09:58

-Are you OK?

-Just a bit tired.

0:09:580:10:00

I've not been sleeping much recently. I've been dreaming loads.

0:10:000:10:03

Funny, I've been reading about dreams.

0:10:030:10:06

What have you been dreaming about?

0:10:060:10:07

-Lobsters.

-Lobsters, let me see.

0:10:070:10:10

It could mean that you're anxious.

0:10:120:10:14

And I've been falling through the sky.

0:10:140:10:16

Let me have a look. Hm.

0:10:160:10:18

It could mean that you're worried about something.

0:10:180:10:21

And I had a dream I went off to make art and forgot to get my ninja on.

0:10:210:10:25

Ninja...

0:10:280:10:29

..skills?

0:10:300:10:32

THEY SNIGGER

0:10:320:10:35

Aah!

0:10:350:10:38

Hm. You must be insecure.

0:10:380:10:40

That's funny, I've been feeling a bit insecure recently.

0:10:400:10:44

I feel like none of my friends are listening to me.

0:10:440:10:46

Hm? I'm just going to make myself a snack.

0:10:470:10:50

You don't mind, do you, mate?

0:10:500:10:51

See what I mean?

0:10:520:10:54

Here's a quick art tip of how to draw someone sleeping.

0:10:560:10:59

I'm going to start with the head.

0:10:590:11:02

So, have a nice, big, wide mouth because he's going to be snoring.

0:11:020:11:05

A little nose, little Us for his eyes, to show that they're closed.

0:11:080:11:12

And slightly raised eyebrows.

0:11:120:11:14

It looks like he's relaxed.

0:11:160:11:18

I'm going to have the arms down like this,

0:11:180:11:21

just coming over the line of the duvet.

0:11:210:11:23

The pillow behind his head.

0:11:250:11:26

Draw the bed posts up here.

0:11:280:11:30

And now the bottom bed posts,

0:11:300:11:31

cos they're going to be the thing closest to me.

0:11:310:11:34

Bed goes down like that.

0:11:380:11:39

Couple of his feet in bed.

0:11:440:11:46

And how do you know someone's sleeping in a drawing?

0:11:460:11:49

Draw some Zs.

0:11:490:11:51

Little snore-y marks.

0:11:530:11:55

There you go.

0:11:590:12:00

Another quick art tip.

0:12:020:12:03

I know I'm not dreaming this -

0:12:160:12:17

that picture definitely moved.

0:12:170:12:19

That's because it's animated.

0:12:190:12:21

Oh, guys, isn't it nice to have a little walk around Bristol

0:12:250:12:27

-at night-time, to see all the landmarks lit up beautifully?

-Yeah.

0:12:270:12:31

Yeah, the path in the sky.

0:12:310:12:33

-You know, the...

-The thingy thing.

0:12:340:12:37

Guys, guys, don't worry.

0:12:370:12:39

I've got your back.

0:12:390:12:41

Get a load of my light painting sign animation.

0:12:410:12:43

Now, you won't be lost in the dark with this animation, and to make it

0:12:450:12:48

you'll need a camera that shoots long exposures,

0:12:480:12:51

a tablet or smartphone,

0:12:510:12:53

a posse of friends...

0:12:530:12:54

HIP-HOP MUSIC PLAYS

0:12:540:12:58

..and a lovely lit-up building at night.

0:12:580:13:01

And you can put it together in just three ninja moves.

0:13:010:13:04

Ninja move number one.

0:13:040:13:05

You decide what building you're going to make a sign for

0:13:050:13:07

and then you need to make your sign.

0:13:070:13:09

So I'm doing the Clifton Suspension Bridge because

0:13:090:13:12

it's a Bristol icon and it's well dench.

0:13:120:13:14

And just to make sure I spell it all right

0:13:140:13:16

I've got it written down on a little bit of paper here,

0:13:160:13:18

cos spelling's not my strong suit.

0:13:180:13:20

Now you colour it in.

0:13:240:13:25

It doesn't need to be coloured in super-perfect,

0:13:250:13:28

because it's going to be quite blurry

0:13:280:13:30

when you light paint with it later.

0:13:300:13:31

Now I need to colour around all the letters carefully with a dark pen.

0:13:330:13:37

The reason I am colouring around all the letters in a black pen

0:13:370:13:40

is because black doesn't show up when you light paint.

0:13:400:13:42

Ninja move number two.

0:13:420:13:44

So, now I need to film it on my smartphone

0:13:440:13:46

and move along with this black bit of card

0:13:460:13:49

with a little slit cut in it,

0:13:490:13:50

and the black won't show up when I light paint later.

0:13:500:13:53

Mind your fingers.

0:13:530:13:55

Ninja move number three.

0:13:570:13:59

Now it's time to start shooting.

0:13:590:14:01

So one person needs to be ready to hold the shutter open

0:14:010:14:03

and somebody else needs to carefully play the video on the smartphone

0:14:030:14:06

and move it around perfectly, printing the sign in the air.

0:14:060:14:09

Once you've done that, you need to reposition the camera around

0:14:110:14:14

at a little bit of an angle so it feels like

0:14:140:14:16

you're moving around your landmark.

0:14:160:14:18

It just gives it a more dynamic look.

0:14:180:14:19

If you take about 12 frames,

0:14:190:14:21

you can bounce backwards and forwards to make a cool animation.

0:14:210:14:24

OK, we've shot all of our frames

0:14:240:14:26

and we've consolidated them into an animation.

0:14:260:14:28

I think it's time to take a look at our mini masterpiece.

0:14:280:14:31

You don't have to do landmarks,

0:14:370:14:39

you can do your friend's name and just make animations of each other.

0:14:390:14:42

Have you got anything for a snack?

0:14:510:14:53

There should be some cheese in the fridge.

0:14:530:14:56

Ooh!

0:14:560:14:58

Wow, Ricky, you've got a lot of cheese in.

0:14:580:15:00

Well, I like cheese.

0:15:000:15:02

PHONE RINGS

0:15:020:15:04

Ah, speaking of cheesy, it's my mum.

0:15:040:15:06

-'Hi, Ricky, it's your mum!'

-Told you.

0:15:060:15:09

'Hope you're doing something a bit more MATURE than normal.

0:15:090:15:12

'Here's a SLICE of what's coming up.'

0:15:120:15:15

You're trading cheese boards for skateboards

0:15:150:15:18

with the ninja apprentices,

0:15:180:15:19

swapping sweet dreams for sheep ones with this little lamp,

0:15:190:15:23

and you'll be exchanging nightmares for neon dreams

0:15:230:15:26

with this glow-in-the-dark art.

0:15:260:15:28

-'I don't know how you dream it all up. Bye!'

-Bye.

0:15:280:15:33

Right, let's get stuck into that cheese.

0:15:330:15:35

Hey, Gav, wait...

0:15:370:15:38

That's mature(!)

0:15:400:15:42

Ricky, Ricky, Ricky!

0:15:420:15:44

Hi, guys, what can I help you with?

0:15:440:15:46

Can you make art with a sponge?

0:15:460:15:48

Way too squeezy. I need a tougher assignment than that.

0:15:480:15:51

Aww...

0:15:510:15:53

-Hi, Ricky.

-Hi, guys.

0:15:530:15:55

We wondered what you could make with these balloons.

0:15:550:15:58

What, one of these balloons?

0:15:580:16:01

Here's one I inflated earlier!

0:16:010:16:03

I think someone's getting a little bit too big for their ninja boots.

0:16:030:16:06

It's all right, I've got this.

0:16:060:16:08

Hey, what have these guys got?

0:16:120:16:14

Ricky, can you make art out of an old spray bottle?

0:16:140:16:17

I'd SPRAY I can. I choose you.

0:16:170:16:20

Yes!

0:16:200:16:22

-So, what are your names?

-My name's Alexandra.

0:16:220:16:25

My name's Abra.

0:16:250:16:27

-Nice to meet you guys. And where are you from?

-London.

0:16:270:16:30

Well, it's a great suggestion.

0:16:300:16:31

I'm going to go and grab a few bits.

0:16:310:16:33

Wow, loads of stuff today.

0:16:330:16:35

So, I've got my spray bottles that I filled up with paint and water.

0:16:350:16:38

I've got some modelling clay and some sticky tack.

0:16:380:16:41

I've got a piece of cardboard

0:16:410:16:42

that I've cut into the shape of a skateboard...

0:16:420:16:44

'I'll tell you why later!'

0:16:440:16:46

..and I've got just a sheet of card here

0:16:460:16:48

that I'm going to draw my design on.

0:16:480:16:50

I want something from the sea.

0:16:500:16:51

-Fish?

-Yeah, I'm going to go for a fish skeleton.

0:16:510:16:54

So I'm going to start by drawing a triangle-shaped skull.

0:16:540:16:57

So, do you guys like to do art?

0:16:570:16:59

Yeah.

0:16:590:17:00

I like to create things like bookmarks.

0:17:000:17:04

I like to write stories.

0:17:060:17:08

So that's perfect. If you write a story,

0:17:080:17:10

you can then make a beautiful bookmark to save your place.

0:17:100:17:12

Yeah.

0:17:120:17:14

Do you want to see my fish so far?

0:17:140:17:16

I'm going to cut this out, because it's going to be my stencil.

0:17:180:17:21

Now, I'm going to cut out the eye of the fish.

0:17:220:17:24

So, to protect the table,

0:17:240:17:25

I'm putting a little bit of modelling clay down

0:17:250:17:27

and I'm going to poke a hole with the pencil

0:17:270:17:29

so I can get my scissors in there.

0:17:290:17:30

There you go.

0:17:300:17:31

Now I cut that out.

0:17:310:17:33

-OK, so I have my fish now all cut out.

-Wow!

0:17:340:17:38

Now I'm going to hold my fish on the cardboard

0:17:380:17:41

with a little bit of sticky tack.

0:17:410:17:43

I'm using small blobs,

0:17:430:17:44

pushing down the sticky tack so it's stuck nice and flush.

0:17:440:17:48

Using my fish as a stencil,

0:17:480:17:50

I'm going to use the spray bottles to make a graffiti skateboard.

0:17:500:17:54

I'm going to start spraying over the skateboard.

0:17:540:17:56

I've put a big bit of card down here to protect my table,

0:17:560:17:59

so if you're doing this at home, I suggest a big bit of newspaper.

0:17:590:18:02

-What's your favourite colour?

-Purple.

0:18:020:18:05

That's good, because I'm going to start with purple.

0:18:050:18:07

I've mixed together paint and water to get it to just

0:18:070:18:10

the right consistency that it will spray out.

0:18:100:18:12

Here we go.

0:18:120:18:13

The great thing about this is you don't have to be too neat.

0:18:150:18:18

My favourite colour is green.

0:18:180:18:19

And currently, this colour green.

0:18:210:18:22

Now I'm going to move onto yellow.

0:18:240:18:25

-That is bright, isn't it?

-Yeah.

0:18:250:18:27

I want my skateboard to be super bright.

0:18:270:18:30

Do you have pink?

0:18:300:18:31

Let's have a look.

0:18:310:18:33

That's my favourite colour, too.

0:18:330:18:35

So this is all your favourite colours, then.

0:18:350:18:38

I reckon you'll like it.

0:18:380:18:39

I've got one colour left.

0:18:400:18:42

Orange.

0:18:420:18:43

It's looking pretty good.

0:18:430:18:45

Now I need this to dry and I'm going to use my ninja skills.

0:18:470:18:50

There we go, lovely and dry.

0:18:530:18:54

I've got a couple of finishing touches I want to do.

0:18:540:18:57

I'm going to give it a black outline

0:18:570:18:59

and it'll really make the colours pop.

0:18:590:19:01

Round to the other tail.

0:19:010:19:03

There we go. I'm going to turn it over.

0:19:030:19:06

I've got some fizzy drinks cans that I've painted

0:19:060:19:09

with paint mixed with PVA glue, so it sticks to the metal.

0:19:090:19:12

And I'm going to stick these to the underside of my board

0:19:120:19:15

to be the wheels.

0:19:150:19:16

And now, finally, for the reveal,

0:19:200:19:22

I can peel off my fish to reveal my custom grip tape job.

0:19:220:19:26

This is kind of beautiful art all on its own.

0:19:260:19:29

So, are you guys ready to see it?

0:19:290:19:31

Yes.

0:19:310:19:33

What do you think of that?

0:19:330:19:35

Whoo!

0:19:370:19:38

-Would you get on board with this at home?

-Yes.

0:19:380:19:42

What would you score it out of ten?

0:19:420:19:44

-Ten!

-Oh, wow! Look at those lovely tens.

0:19:440:19:47

You know what? I'll hang it on the wall.

0:19:470:19:49

-Thanks for your suggestion, guys, you've been brilliant. Bye-bye.

-Bye!

0:19:530:19:58

Finally, I can eat some cheese.

0:20:020:20:04

I've been thinking. You've had a lot of strange dreams, right?

0:20:040:20:08

-Right.

-And you've been eating a lot of this.

0:20:080:20:11

What can I say? I'm going through a little bit of a cheese phase.

0:20:110:20:14

And have you been eating it late at night?

0:20:140:20:16

-Yeah.

-Well, that explains the dreams.

0:20:160:20:18

But it just tastes so good!

0:20:180:20:21

Let's take pictures with our dream cheeses.

0:20:210:20:24

-Cheese selfies!

-Say cheese!

0:20:240:20:27

Oh, I'm tired after that.

0:20:320:20:34

-Aah!

-Ommmm!

0:20:340:20:37

I think I'm seeing things.

0:20:390:20:40

Don't worry, I know this guy.

0:20:400:20:42

Whoa!

0:20:420:20:44

I'm OK, man.

0:20:450:20:46

It's the Grand Master.

0:20:460:20:49

Greetings, dudes!

0:20:490:20:51

Good to see you. Sorry, yawn coming.

0:20:510:20:54

-Ooooh!

-Whoa!

0:20:550:20:59

Sorry about that.

0:20:590:21:01

Step number 101 to enlightenment.

0:21:010:21:04

Ruminate mammal for room illumination.

0:21:060:21:09

-Ah. Sheep lamp.

-Yeah!

0:21:090:21:13

Apparently, counting sheep is good for sleep.

0:21:130:21:17

Yeah, let's go!

0:21:170:21:19

Get a clean plastic milk bottle.

0:21:190:21:21

Squash it.

0:21:230:21:24

Cut it in half.

0:21:260:21:28

Oh, no! My beard.

0:21:280:21:31

Careful, dudes! Plastic can be sharp.

0:21:330:21:36

Cut a straight diagonal line.

0:21:360:21:38

Paint the milk bottle lid.

0:21:400:21:42

And four smaller ones.

0:21:440:21:46

Glue cotton wool to the plastic with PVA.

0:21:480:21:51

This blob's the sheep's tail.

0:21:570:21:59

Glue on the four bottle tops for feet.

0:22:020:22:05

Use strong glue, dudes.

0:22:050:22:07

Put the lid back on for the nose.

0:22:080:22:11

Stick on ears...

0:22:130:22:15

..eyes...

0:22:180:22:19

..and a tongue.

0:22:200:22:22

Put the battery-operated lights inside

0:22:220:22:25

and push the two halves together.

0:22:250:22:28

-Illuminating and ruminating.

-BAA!

0:22:280:22:31

Sheep of light for sleeping at night.

0:22:310:22:35

Lesson 101 complete.

0:22:350:22:39

Nice one, Grand Master.

0:22:390:22:41

I'm enlightened.

0:22:410:22:42

-Literally.

-You are most welcome.

0:22:420:22:45

SHEEP BAA

0:22:470:22:49

The sheep are making me sleepy.

0:22:500:22:53

THEY SNORE

0:22:530:22:55

Ommm!

0:22:550:22:57

I was going to do some epic art,

0:22:590:23:02

but I think we should just have an epic nap first.

0:23:020:23:04

On your bike!

0:23:110:23:13

On your little tail! Lobster, get away.

0:23:130:23:16

VOICE ECHOES

0:23:160:23:17

Gavin? Are you awake?

0:23:190:23:22

Quite clearly.

0:23:220:23:23

Hang on.

0:23:250:23:27

I'm not in my flat. I must be dreaming again.

0:23:270:23:30

VOICE ECHOES

0:23:300:23:32

Ah, slippers.

0:23:320:23:33

Seeing as I'm here, I might as well look around.

0:23:330:23:36

Ninja skills.

0:23:400:23:42

-Ricky!

-VOICES ECHO

0:23:420:23:46

It's me, Sarah.

0:23:460:23:47

-What are you doing here?

-How are you?

0:23:470:23:50

-What's in the box?

-It's from your dad.

0:23:500:23:52

Oh, it's masking tape, loads of it.

0:23:550:23:58

In really vivid colours.

0:23:580:23:59

Like your vivid dreams.

0:23:590:24:01

I've been having a lot of nightmares recently.

0:24:010:24:04

SCREAMING

0:24:040:24:05

-What was that?

-Maybe it's something from your nightmares. The bogeyman!

0:24:050:24:08

VOICES ECHO

0:24:080:24:09

It's not a bogeyman, it's bogey Rich. I've got a cold, OK?

0:24:090:24:14

ELEPHANT TRUMPETS

0:24:140:24:17

Rich? Matt? What are you doing in my dream?

0:24:180:24:21

We're here to keep things surreal.

0:24:210:24:23

It looks like you've got some great art materials there, Ricky.

0:24:230:24:26

You're right, and this has given me an idea to make art

0:24:260:24:29

to break the cycle of my recurring lobster nightmare.

0:24:290:24:32

But first, we'd better get our ninja on.

0:24:320:24:34

Art Ninja! Strike a pose.

0:24:410:24:44

Where are you?

0:24:440:24:46

Art Ninja.

0:24:460:24:47

ELEPHANT TRUMPETS

0:24:470:24:49

Art Ninja.

0:24:490:24:51

What a nightmare.

0:24:510:24:53

We're going to make a massive surreal scene

0:24:570:25:00

on this wall and the floor around good old Sleeping Beauty here.

0:25:000:25:05

Let me sleep, Ricky.

0:25:060:25:09

And as I'm trying to break my cycle of nightmares,

0:25:090:25:11

this scene is going to be very dramatic.

0:25:110:25:14

Take some tape

0:25:140:25:16

and get to work.

0:25:160:25:17

(He caught it. It's because it's a dream.)

0:25:180:25:21

The colour's coming out really nicely against the black wall.

0:25:290:25:32

HE SNORES

0:25:360:25:37

What are you doing there, then, Ricks?

0:25:390:25:40

I'm going to fill this in like a chessboard.

0:25:400:25:42

I can't wait to see what this is going to look like.

0:25:450:25:47

I think you're in for a treat,

0:25:470:25:48

because this bit of art has a secret up its sleeve.

0:25:480:25:51

Ricky, Ricky!

0:25:530:25:54

-What?

-I'm the tape ninja.

0:25:540:25:57

There's only one ninja around here.

0:25:570:25:59

That's me.

0:25:590:26:01

Now for one last finishing touch.

0:26:060:26:09

-Check it out, guys, what do you think?

-Oh, wow!

-It's amazing.

0:26:100:26:13

-Real nice.

-That really is bright.

0:26:130:26:16

You haven't seen anything yet.

0:26:160:26:17

When I kill the lights and add a spot of UV,

0:26:170:26:20

it's going to get really illuminating.

0:26:200:26:22

The art's great, but is it enough

0:26:320:26:34

to break my cycle of lobster nightmares?

0:26:340:26:36

What do you think, Gav?

0:26:360:26:38

HE SNORES

0:26:380:26:40

Well, there's only one way to find out. Back into bed.

0:26:400:26:43

Ah.

0:26:540:26:55

That was weird. Gav?

0:26:550:26:57

Gav?

0:26:570:26:58

I can't tell if any of what just happened was real, or just a dream.

0:27:000:27:03

Today's taught me a valuable Art Ninja lesson -

0:27:050:27:08

recurring dreams about crustaceans

0:27:080:27:11

can make you overnight art sensations!

0:27:110:27:14

Even if it was all a dream, it was definitely fun.

0:27:140:27:17

Night.

0:27:190:27:20

I can't sleep.

0:27:260:27:27

I can't stop thinking about the talking lobster,

0:27:270:27:30

apple heads, and cheese.

0:27:300:27:33

Hi, Ricky! It wasn't a dream.

0:27:330:27:36

Aaarrrggghh!
