I'm Ricky.

0:00:030:00:04

I live in Bristol.

0:00:040:00:06

I work as an animator, which is lucky cos I love art.

0:00:060:00:09

I live for art. I even dream of art.

0:00:110:00:13

I draw. I paint.

0:00:130:00:16

I make things.

0:00:160:00:17

Nailed it.

0:00:170:00:18

I hang out with my mates.

0:00:200:00:22

Gavin, Michelle, Rich, and Sarah.

0:00:220:00:26

It's me.

0:00:260:00:27

Most importantly, I make ninja moves.

0:00:270:00:29

Some people call me the...

0:00:290:00:30

Today, I'll show you how to pimp up your room, ninja-style.

0:00:350:00:38

We create a snappy picture.

0:00:390:00:41

And there's big-hitting pixel art which packs a punch.

0:00:430:00:46

Because today, it's...

0:00:480:00:50

GONG SOUNDS

0:00:500:00:51

HE YAWNS

0:00:550:00:56

It's a new day.

0:00:560:00:58

I'd better get my ninja on.

0:00:580:00:59

And my clothes.

0:01:010:01:02

'Welcome back to my channel.'

0:01:150:01:17

-What's that noise?

-'I'm outside the Art Ninja flat.'

0:01:170:01:19

-Sounds like Gavin.

-'I'm just going to knock on Ricky's door.

0:01:190:01:21

'Doesn't feel much like a door.'

0:01:210:01:23

-Ow! What are you doing?

-I'm making a vlog.

0:01:230:01:26

I've got 50,000 subscribers.

0:01:260:01:28

What's it about?

0:01:280:01:29

It's about my life as the annoying best mate of the Art Ninja.

0:01:290:01:32

So you're telling me people watch you...

0:01:320:01:35

-..watching me?

-He's the Art Ninja.

0:01:370:01:39

So what exactly are you filming?

0:01:390:01:41

Behind the scenes.

0:01:410:01:43

It's behind the scenes, people.

0:01:430:01:44

-Let's go.

-Well, Gav, I've got art to do.

0:01:440:01:47

So if you don't mind, wait in the kitchen and stop filming.

0:01:470:01:50

He doesn't mean it.

0:01:500:01:51

I do.

0:01:510:01:52

There'll be no behind the scenes

0:01:520:01:54

if I don't do some in front of the scenes.

0:01:540:01:56

So I'm going to get on with some art.

0:01:560:01:59

Gavin's busy posting his vlog,

0:01:590:02:01

so I'm going to make something you can literally post on to.

0:02:010:02:04

It's the Art Ninja Graffiti Pin Board.

0:02:040:02:07

I've got a couple of large pieces of card.

0:02:070:02:10

Both the same size.

0:02:100:02:11

And I'm going to stick them together with a bit of PVA glue.

0:02:110:02:14

It doesn't need to be neat here.

0:02:140:02:17

It's just needs to be sticky.

0:02:170:02:19

Now, if you're doing this at home,

0:02:190:02:20

you need to put newspaper down to protect your table.

0:02:200:02:23

But my art table is made for this kind of action.

0:02:230:02:26

And the reason I'm doubling up the card

0:02:260:02:28

is so it's thick enough to stick pins to.

0:02:280:02:31

Now, as I'm going to hang this up, I need to make some holes,

0:02:310:02:33

so I can put some string through it.

0:02:330:02:35

Get a pencil to poke the hole,

0:02:350:02:36

and a bit of modelling clay to protect the table.

0:02:360:02:39

And I'm punching four holes, two on each side.

0:02:390:02:42

One there.

0:02:420:02:43

One there.

0:02:430:02:45

One there.

0:02:450:02:46

And one there.

0:02:480:02:49

So I cut a length of string.

0:02:490:02:51

Snip that off. Thread that through.

0:02:510:02:53

And then tie it to itself.

0:02:550:02:57

And we'll do the same on the other side.

0:02:580:03:00

Now that bit's done, I've got myself a big dish here.

0:03:030:03:06

Some white paint. Using a sponge, I'm just going to dab on the paint.

0:03:080:03:12

And this white is going to be the mortar

0:03:140:03:16

that we'll be able to see through between the bricks.

0:03:160:03:19

I'm just dabbing it on to get a nice texture.

0:03:190:03:21

I want it to look kind of rough.

0:03:210:03:23

While that's drying, I'm going to make my bricks.

0:03:250:03:27

So I've got a couple of pieces of pre-cut card.

0:03:270:03:30

I'm going to squeeze out a little bit of brown paint.

0:03:300:03:33

Get my sponge.

0:03:330:03:35

I'm going to use the same technique with these bits of cardboard.

0:03:350:03:38

Just dabbing it on like this.

0:03:390:03:42

Do the same to the other one.

0:03:420:03:44

Now, as bricks come in lots of different colours and tones,

0:03:440:03:47

I'm going to make this one slightly darker

0:03:470:03:49

and add a little bit of black.

0:03:490:03:51

And then I'm going to add a couple of accents,

0:03:530:03:55

slightly darker areas on it.

0:03:550:03:57

You can get some really nice effects

0:03:570:03:59

layering up different colours.

0:03:590:04:01

But if I'm going to make a wall, I'm going to need a ton of these,

0:04:010:04:04

so I'll ninja some more.

0:04:040:04:05

Sweet. That's a good amount of bricks.

0:04:060:04:10

Now, with the PVA glue, I'm going to start sticking them on.

0:04:100:04:14

I'm putting this one down here with a little bit of a gap in between,

0:04:160:04:19

because that's, of course, the mortar showing through.

0:04:190:04:21

Don't worry if you get a bit of PVA glue on the front of the bricks,

0:04:210:04:23

because, of course, it dries clear.

0:04:230:04:26

Now, I'm sticking these down in a brickwork pattern.

0:04:260:04:28

The bricks are offset.

0:04:280:04:30

I'm also mixing up different colours

0:04:300:04:32

to make it look like an authentic wall.

0:04:320:04:34

I'm just letting them overhang the edges.

0:04:340:04:36

And when it's finished,

0:04:360:04:37

it will look like a piece of wall has been removed.

0:04:370:04:39

Right, I think that's looking really good.

0:04:440:04:46

It's time for me to give it my own personal tag.

0:04:460:04:49

I've got some nice colour paints here.

0:04:490:04:51

Here's some shapes that I cut out from a sponge.

0:04:510:04:53

And I'm going to paint my name.

0:04:530:04:54

But on your wall, you can do whatever you like.

0:04:540:04:56

I'm going to start with purple.

0:04:560:04:59

These tapered ends of the sponges

0:04:590:05:01

kind of make it look like

0:05:010:05:02

you lift away the spray can at the end.

0:05:020:05:05

When I change letters, I'm going to change colours.

0:05:070:05:10

I'm using a different colour for each letter,

0:05:100:05:13

but you can use any colours you like.

0:05:130:05:15

Getting creative with my colours.

0:05:150:05:17

Yeah, looking good.

0:05:180:05:19

Now, I want something with a similar theme to hold my pens.

0:05:230:05:26

So I'm going to make a spray can.

0:05:260:05:27

So for that, I've got an old gravy pot,

0:05:270:05:29

and I've cut the top off an old drinks top here.

0:05:290:05:33

So I'm going to stuff it with a bit of newspaper...

0:05:330:05:35

..which is going to help it stick and not slide around

0:05:370:05:40

as I glue it to the lid of my gravy pot.

0:05:400:05:42

Stick it on.

0:05:420:05:43

I'm using strong glue.

0:05:430:05:45

And now for some finishing touches, I'm going to use my ninja skills.

0:05:470:05:52

So I've wrapped the gravy tube in orange,

0:05:540:05:57

the top's painted silver like a real spray can.

0:05:570:06:00

I've added an Art Ninja sticker.

0:06:000:06:01

On the back, I've put a little bit of hook and loop tape,

0:06:010:06:03

sticky side out here

0:06:030:06:05

so I can stick it to my wall.

0:06:050:06:06

That means I can pop it off.

0:06:060:06:08

But it's got a place it will always stick back on.

0:06:080:06:11

And now I can stick in my pens and pencils.

0:06:110:06:13

There we go. I've always said I had good board skills.

0:06:170:06:20

Now, I've swapped the skateboard for a pin board.

0:06:200:06:23

Not only does he do art, he does jokes, as well.

0:06:230:06:26

Now, to add some pictures.

0:06:290:06:31

There's one of Gavin when he got set on fire by our animation dragon.

0:06:310:06:35

Michelle on a deck chair.

0:06:350:06:37

And our clown juice art.

0:06:370:06:39

I think that looks awesome.

0:06:390:06:40

Now all I need to do is hang it up.

0:06:400:06:42

There are all kinds of ways to personalise your pin board.

0:06:530:06:56

How about this wrecking ball wall?

0:06:560:06:58

Gavin. What are you doing now?

0:07:070:07:10

People love a prank.

0:07:100:07:12

Give me that phone right...

0:07:120:07:14

And they love seeing you fall over.

0:07:150:07:17

Give it here. Give me that phone, Gavin.

0:07:170:07:19

Keep this going, Ricky.

0:07:190:07:21

This is great. We're going to go viral.

0:07:210:07:24

Did that picture just move?

0:07:260:07:28

Yeah, that's because it's animated.

0:07:280:07:31

No. No, no, no.

0:07:310:07:33

-SHE LAUGHS

-You...

0:07:340:07:36

-Yeah.

-What is Anna doing?

0:07:400:07:42

So, I mean, what can you do?

0:07:420:07:44

Nothing.

0:07:440:07:45

Hey, guys. Have you met my friend Bill?

0:07:450:07:48

-BOTH:

-No.

-Go on, shake his hand.

0:07:490:07:51

Hi, Bill.

0:07:510:07:52

Don't worry, Bill's fine, and he's not real.

0:07:530:07:57

And you can make this cool flour animation with a glass dish,

0:07:570:08:00

a bag of flour, and a tablet with animation app installed.

0:08:000:08:03

And you can put it together in just three ninja moves.

0:08:030:08:06

Ninja move number one.

0:08:060:08:08

Right, so the first thing you need to do...

0:08:080:08:10

-Right, I'm off.

-Why?

0:08:100:08:11

I don't want to get covered in flour.

0:08:110:08:13

Oh, well, the first thing you need to do

0:08:130:08:15

is make sure you've got permission to use the flour.

0:08:150:08:18

Normally, this animation is done with sand

0:08:180:08:19

and called sand animation.

0:08:190:08:21

But flour works just as well.

0:08:210:08:22

Use a glass dish or any cooking dish,

0:08:220:08:25

just to keep the animation nice and tidy.

0:08:250:08:27

Ninja move number two.

0:08:270:08:28

You need to make sure you've got the right depth of flour.

0:08:280:08:31

Too much, you won't get a defined line.

0:08:310:08:34

Too little, you won't be able to draw in it at all.

0:08:340:08:36

Ninja move number three.

0:08:360:08:39

Now, it's time to start shooting.

0:08:390:08:40

With this kind of animation,

0:08:400:08:42

it's great to let your imagination run wild,

0:08:420:08:44

continually let each line evolve into a new shape,

0:08:440:08:47

a new character or a new object.

0:08:470:08:49

And what's real fun here is tagging in your mates

0:08:490:08:51

so that they'll have a go, too.

0:08:510:08:53

You'll need to add lines and erase lines as you go.

0:08:590:09:02

Each time you do this, grab a frame on your device.

0:09:020:09:05

OK, so we've shot all of our frames.

0:09:080:09:10

Added some cool sound effects.

0:09:100:09:12

We've stroked Stanley.

0:09:120:09:13

Now, I think it's time to take a look at our mini masterpiece.

0:09:130:09:16

Wow! I'm really impressed with that.

0:09:340:09:36

-Mm. Delicious.

-What are you doing now?

0:09:460:09:48

Here, try this refreshing cumquat

0:09:480:09:50

and quinoa-ade drink for the vlog.

0:09:500:09:52

LIQUID BUBBLES

0:09:580:10:00

That's disgusting.

0:10:010:10:02

Why are you drinking that?

0:10:020:10:04

The drinks people sponsored the vlog.

0:10:040:10:07

Well, can I sponsor you

0:10:070:10:08

to leave me alone, please?

0:10:080:10:09

Gavin's been making a splash with his vlog.

0:10:160:10:18

An artist that made a bigger splash was Andy Warhol.

0:10:180:10:21

Hi, Ricky.

0:10:210:10:23

Is that you, Andy? I didn't recognise you with the big shades.

0:10:230:10:26

Yes, I'm incognito.

0:10:260:10:29

I thought you were in Pop Art Periodical.

0:10:290:10:31

I was one of the leading artists of pop art.

0:10:310:10:34

And when I'm not on magazines, I was publishing my own.

0:10:340:10:38

I started an art studio called The Factory.

0:10:380:10:41

Here's some of my work now.

0:10:410:10:43

I was also the person who coined the phrase "15 minutes of fame."

0:10:450:10:50

I notice you're on series three,

0:10:500:10:52

so you're having more than your fair share.

0:10:520:10:55

Thanks, Andy. Didn't you once make a film

0:10:550:10:57

that featured a friend of yours

0:10:570:10:58

sleeping for six hours?

0:10:580:11:00

ANDY SNORES

0:11:000:11:03

Charming. Andy Warhol was known for his colourful prints.

0:11:030:11:07

So I'm going to have a crack at one now.

0:11:070:11:09

So I've got some old scrap bits of paper here.

0:11:090:11:12

And I'm going to position them in a way that I like.

0:11:120:11:15

These bits of paper can be leftovers from other art projects.

0:11:150:11:19

I'm going to do a picture of a camera.

0:11:210:11:23

So I'm going to arrange these in a way that suggests that.

0:11:230:11:26

Andy Warhol is known for making art that's not quite perfect.

0:11:280:11:32

So using scraps is great for this art.

0:11:320:11:35

This green bit here for the lens.

0:11:350:11:37

And another one up here for the flash.

0:11:380:11:41

Going to pop that to one side for a second.

0:11:410:11:43

Now, I've got a plain piece of A4.

0:11:430:11:44

I'm using this dark oil pastel

0:11:440:11:47

to fill in an area on this paper.

0:11:470:11:49

I want this to have quite a thick coverage

0:11:490:11:51

because I'm going to use it for printing.

0:11:510:11:53

You don't have to colour in the whole piece of paper,

0:11:550:11:57

just an area that would be the size of the picture.

0:11:570:12:00

Use any colour you like.

0:12:000:12:01

I think that's pretty good.

0:12:030:12:04

I'm going to lay this on top of my coloured paper.

0:12:040:12:07

And with a normal ballpoint pen, draw my picture on the back.

0:12:110:12:14

I want to have a nice, crisp, clean print,

0:12:170:12:19

so I'm just doing a line drawing.

0:12:190:12:21

A flash up here.

0:12:230:12:24

If you think the paper's going to move,

0:12:260:12:28

tack it or stick it down to keep it still.

0:12:280:12:32

This one for the lens.

0:12:320:12:33

I'm drawing a camera.

0:12:370:12:38

You can draw anything you like.

0:12:380:12:40

OK. Now I can take it off and reveal my print.

0:12:440:12:47

Oh, look at that. Lovely crisp, black lines.

0:12:490:12:52

The great thing about this technique

0:12:520:12:53

is I can use my print paper again and again.

0:12:530:12:56

To make my work of art more like Andy Warhol's,

0:12:560:12:58

I'm going to need some more colourful prints.

0:12:580:13:01

So I'll use my ninja skills.

0:13:010:13:03

There we go. Now, I'm going to arrange them like Andy would have.

0:13:030:13:07

Now, the great thing about this technique is,

0:13:120:13:14

although they kind of all look very, very similar,

0:13:140:13:16

there's these lovely little imperfections

0:13:160:13:19

that sets each one apart.

0:13:190:13:21

And I think it's so good, it deserves a frame.

0:13:210:13:23

A colourful print worthy of Andy Warhol himself.

0:13:230:13:26

Dare I ask?

0:13:350:13:37

I'm doing a challenge video.

0:13:370:13:38

I've got to keep my hand in the ice and stand on one leg

0:13:380:13:41

-for as long as possible.

-TELEPHONE RINGS

0:13:410:13:44

Oh, Gav, could you get that?

0:13:440:13:45

I can't, Ricky. I'm a bit busy, mate.

0:13:450:13:48

-ANSWERING MACHINE:

-'Hi, Ricky. It's your mum.

0:13:490:13:52

'If you see Gavin, can you tell him I've given his blog a like?

0:13:520:13:55

'I also like what's still to come.'

0:13:550:13:57

'Striking art by a striking character.'

0:13:590:14:02

Strike.

0:14:020:14:04

'Eye-catching stuff with the ninja apprentices...

0:14:040:14:07

'..and memorable art with memo notes.'

0:14:080:14:11

We're getting some great comments on this.

0:14:110:14:14

'Right, need to do my status update.

0:14:140:14:16

'Lol. And that doesn't mean lots of love, Ricky, lol.'

0:14:160:14:21

I know. Hey, Gav, I'm going to do some art.

0:14:210:14:24

-Want to come and help?

-I can't.

0:14:240:14:26

I'm trying to finish this challenge video.

0:14:260:14:28

Here's a quick art tip,

0:14:300:14:31

how to draw a Japanese-style cartoon character.

0:14:310:14:34

Now, I'm going to start with her head.

0:14:340:14:35

That's going to be quite a bit bigger than the body.

0:14:350:14:38

Nice, big round face.

0:14:380:14:39

And I'm going to add some hair.

0:14:390:14:42

Little spiky fringe.

0:14:420:14:43

And as these characters are always quite cutesy,

0:14:470:14:49

I'm going to add some bows and a couple of bunches.

0:14:490:14:52

Now onto the eyes.

0:14:520:14:54

And characteristically, they're quite big on the face.

0:14:540:14:56

Like that. And then nice, big pupils,

0:14:570:15:01

with reflections.

0:15:010:15:03

And I'm just doing a couple of circles and half moons.

0:15:030:15:06

Colour those bits in black, leaving the reflections blank.

0:15:080:15:11

And just little flicks for eyelashes.

0:15:110:15:13

Little button nose.

0:15:160:15:19

Happy mouth. Now, as I said, a smaller body,

0:15:190:15:21

definitely not in proportion with the head.

0:15:210:15:23

Little thumbs up.

0:15:240:15:27

And another one.

0:15:270:15:28

Going to give her a skirt with pleats,

0:15:290:15:31

so they are overlapping lines like this.

0:15:310:15:33

Then her legs, down like this.

0:15:360:15:38

And little feet turning in.

0:15:380:15:40

There we go.

0:15:410:15:42

Another quick art tip.

0:15:450:15:47

Gav, are you still doing that challenge?

0:15:560:15:58

Yeah, and I got nearly 1,000 likes. Look!

0:15:580:16:01

Wow. Impressive.

0:16:010:16:03

It is quite painful, though.

0:16:030:16:05

I imagine it is. It's a shame you are too busy to film this guy.

0:16:050:16:09

Ummmmmmm.

0:16:090:16:10

He'd be great for the vlog.

0:16:100:16:12

-Ummm.

-CRASH!

0:16:120:16:14

I'm OK, man.

0:16:140:16:15

Greetings, dude.

0:16:160:16:18

Ah, the Grandmaster.

0:16:180:16:20

With stunts like that, you could go viral.

0:16:200:16:23

Sure.

0:16:230:16:24

Step number 1989 to enlightenment.

0:16:260:16:30

Facing bowling with a smile.

0:16:300:16:33

Emoji skittles.

0:16:350:16:37

That's right, dude.

0:16:370:16:39

Pour PVA glue into a cup.

0:16:390:16:42

Then, add some paint.

0:16:430:16:45

Yellow for emojis.

0:16:450:16:47

Mix them together.

0:16:470:16:48

This is half paint and half glue, dudes.

0:16:480:16:52

Get a plastic drinks bottle.

0:16:520:16:54

Pour in some glue and paint mixture.

0:16:540:16:57

Put the lid on tight, guys.

0:16:580:17:00

Then shake it

0:17:010:17:03

until it's all yellow.

0:17:030:17:05

Take the lid off.

0:17:050:17:07

And let it dry.

0:17:070:17:08

Put the lid back on.

0:17:100:17:11

Now, stick on emoji features.

0:17:130:17:16

Any expression you like, dudes.

0:17:160:17:18

You can make a whole set of skittles.

0:17:200:17:23

Yeah.

0:17:240:17:25

Guess my emotion, dude.

0:17:250:17:27

Happy?

0:17:290:17:30

Sad?

0:17:310:17:32

Constipated?

0:17:330:17:35

Lesson 1989 complete.

0:17:350:17:38

Time to bowl.

0:17:380:17:40

Strike.

0:17:440:17:46

Thank you, Grandmaster.

0:17:480:17:50

I am bowled over.

0:17:500:17:52

And enlightened.

0:17:520:17:54

You are most welcome.

0:17:540:17:55

Ummmmm.

0:17:580:18:00

BOTH: Ricky, Ricky, Ricky.

0:18:010:18:04

You did that without moving your lips.

0:18:040:18:06

It wasn't me, I think it was the ninja apprentices.

0:18:060:18:09

Can you make art with an alarm clock?

0:18:110:18:14

Sorry, haven't got time for that one now.

0:18:140:18:15

-BOTH:

-Aw.

0:18:150:18:17

-Hi, Ricky.

-Hey! It's Billie from Dixie.

0:18:170:18:21

I was hoping you could help me make something out of this old keyboard.

0:18:210:18:24

You must have your wires crossed.

0:18:240:18:25

-Aw.

-Sorry, but I think it's time to log off from this one.

0:18:250:18:29

Hey, what have these guys got?

0:18:290:18:31

Ricky, can you make art from a cereal box?

0:18:310:18:34

It's about time I was less flaky.

0:18:340:18:36

All right, I choose you.

0:18:360:18:37

Yay.

0:18:370:18:39

So what are your names?

0:18:390:18:41

-Nathanial.

-Isabella.

0:18:410:18:43

-And where are you guys from? BOTH:

-Bradford.

0:18:430:18:45

So art with a cereal box is a great suggestion.

0:18:450:18:47

But I'm going to need something else from you, as well.

0:18:470:18:49

Isabella, can you come up to the screen?

0:18:490:18:51

I need to take a picture of your eye.

0:18:510:18:54

That's it, closer. Closer.

0:18:540:18:56

OK. And got it, thank you.

0:18:560:18:59

And now, close the eye.

0:18:590:19:00

Got that one as well. Just going to go and print those out.

0:19:020:19:05

I've got the two lovely pictures of your eye.

0:19:070:19:10

One open,

0:19:100:19:12

and one closed. And I've got myself...

0:19:120:19:14

..a trusty cereal box.

0:19:150:19:17

I'm going to start by just cutting off the front panel,

0:19:170:19:19

the bottom and the back.

0:19:190:19:22

Gavin's popping up vlogging all over the place today.

0:19:220:19:24

If you were to do a vlog, what would you do a vlog about?

0:19:240:19:27

Computer games?

0:19:270:19:29

How about you, Nathanial?

0:19:290:19:30

How many backflips I can do in five minutes.

0:19:300:19:33

That's a good idea, a challenge vlog.

0:19:330:19:35

Right, so just got your eyes here.

0:19:350:19:37

And I'm going to use a ruler.

0:19:370:19:39

I'm going to draw lines along it the same width as the ruler.

0:19:390:19:42

I guess if I did a vlog, I would do an art-based vlog.

0:19:420:19:45

Or maybe like a ninja vlog.

0:19:450:19:46

Now, I'm just going to draw the same lines,

0:19:470:19:49

the width of the ruler on the other eye.

0:19:490:19:52

So do you guys have a favourite artist?

0:19:520:19:55

-David Hockney.

-I was kind of hoping you'd say me.

0:19:550:19:58

Equal to you, too.

0:19:580:20:00

Yes. I'm just going to cut your eye into strips now.

0:20:000:20:03

So the open one, I'm going to cut along these lines.

0:20:030:20:05

And its important when I organise them

0:20:050:20:07

that I keep them in the right order.

0:20:070:20:08

Because it's kind of hard to see

0:20:080:20:10

what they are when they are in strips.

0:20:100:20:11

And with this technique, you don't have to use pictures of eyes.

0:20:110:20:14

You can use anything you like.

0:20:140:20:16

I've finished with the open eye now.

0:20:160:20:18

And I'm moving on to the closed one.

0:20:180:20:20

Your eyelashes on your closed eye look really strange zoomed in.

0:20:200:20:24

It's kind of like a moustache, or maybe a mono brow.

0:20:240:20:27

Oh, yeah.

0:20:270:20:28

Now, I'm going to stick down the pictures of your eye

0:20:290:20:32

to my piece of card.

0:20:320:20:33

That's just with a glue stick.

0:20:330:20:34

And I'm going to alternate between the two piles.

0:20:340:20:37

So one strip of eye open, one strip of eye closed, all the way along.

0:20:370:20:42

There we go.

0:20:420:20:43

So do you guys have any hobbies?

0:20:430:20:45

Eating, sleeping, video games, art.

0:20:450:20:50

Sounds like pretty much what I do.

0:20:500:20:51

I'm just going to show you guys how I'm getting on,

0:20:510:20:53

cos I think it looks super weird.

0:20:530:20:55

It's like strips of your eye alternatively stuck along.

0:20:550:20:58

It looks really alien, doesn't it?

0:20:580:21:00

-Yeah.

-Cut off this excess bit cos we don't need that.

0:21:000:21:03

Now, I'm going to use a ruler and the back of my scissors

0:21:040:21:07

to score a line between where the pictures meet.

0:21:070:21:10

This is to help it fold.

0:21:100:21:12

If you are scoring at home,

0:21:120:21:14

make sure you put a mat down to protect the table.

0:21:140:21:16

What's your favourite kind of art to do?

0:21:160:21:19

I like doing pointillism.

0:21:190:21:21

-Wow.

-It's like ordinary painting but then you just do dots on it.

0:21:210:21:26

Amazing.

0:21:260:21:28

Now, I'm going to fold it along my scored lines

0:21:280:21:30

into a zigzag shape.

0:21:300:21:31

So over, and then turn it over, and fold it back again.

0:21:310:21:35

This is called a concertina.

0:21:350:21:36

You guys ready to see it?

0:21:370:21:39

-Yeah.

-OK, there's two parts to see.

0:21:390:21:42

-Here's the first one. BOTH:

-Cool.

0:21:420:21:44

And here's the second.

0:21:450:21:47

-BOTH:

-Cool.

0:21:470:21:50

So it kind of looks like it's blinking.

0:21:500:21:52

-Does it work? BOTH:

-Yeah.

0:21:520:21:54

So can you see yourselves making this?

0:21:540:21:56

-BOTH:

-EYE think so.

0:21:560:21:58

See what they did there?

0:21:580:22:00

What would you score it?

0:22:000:22:02

-BOTH:

-We'd give it a ten.

0:22:020:22:05

With a massive, beautiful eye in the middle?

0:22:050:22:07

An EYE ten.

0:22:070:22:08

How about we have an EYE five?

0:22:080:22:11

Thanks very much, guys, great suggestion.

0:22:110:22:13

-BOTH:

-Bye, Ricky.

0:22:130:22:15

All right, Gav? You look chuffed.

0:22:230:22:25

We've just hit one million likes.

0:22:250:22:27

And that's good, why?

0:22:270:22:29

Well, the more likes we get, the more famous we become.

0:22:290:22:33

We could be internet millionaires.

0:22:330:22:35

I like the sound of that.

0:22:350:22:37

We could get more likes by doing epic art online.

0:22:370:22:40

You're on.

0:22:400:22:42

Ninja skills.

0:22:520:22:54

I am just going to unlock this.

0:22:540:22:55

I'm just going to put my work jacket on.

0:22:590:23:00

That's my desk over there!

0:23:000:23:02

Gav, who would have thought you actually would have a job

0:23:030:23:06

outside of being my annoying best friend?

0:23:060:23:08

-I know, right?

-Let's get this thing fired up.

0:23:080:23:10

Here we go. Ninja tunes going.

0:23:100:23:13

Webcam's on.

0:23:130:23:14

Looking good.

0:23:140:23:16

Gav, you've got an awful lot of memo notes around your computer.

0:23:160:23:20

Yeah, I am very forgetful.

0:23:200:23:23

You don't say.

0:23:230:23:25

Turn computer on?

0:23:250:23:27

Fair enough.

0:23:270:23:28

Password - Gav is Rad?

0:23:290:23:31

-Yeah.

-I'll be the judge of that.

0:23:310:23:33

Never forget you are a strong, confident man?

0:23:340:23:38

Give me that.

0:23:380:23:39

Anyway, the webcam is going, what should we do a vlog about?

0:23:390:23:42

-I can't think.

-Hang on a minute.

0:23:420:23:45

Did you see that? I thought I just saw a memo note

0:23:450:23:48

move entirely on its own.

0:23:480:23:50

And it's given me an idea for some epic art.

0:23:520:23:55

But first, we better

0:23:550:23:57

get our ninja on.

0:23:570:23:58

Art Ninja.

0:24:040:24:06

Gav, strike a pose.

0:24:060:24:07

Art Ninja.

0:24:070:24:09

So, Gav, how many of these memo notes have you got?

0:24:140:24:17

Ha-ha! I remembered to get loads and loads.

0:24:170:24:19

Wow. Oh, this is great.

0:24:190:24:21

We can use these little coloured squares as pixels

0:24:210:24:24

to make a perfect picture.

0:24:240:24:25

And it will get us loads of likes on our vlog.

0:24:250:24:28

What's our picture going to be of?

0:24:280:24:29

I'll give you a clue. What goes well with microchips?

0:24:290:24:34

-I don't know.

-I'll give you another clue.

0:24:340:24:36

What has a killer bite?

0:24:360:24:39

No idea.

0:24:390:24:41

Just forget it. Grab those pink ones

0:24:410:24:43

and get sticking them up on the wall.

0:24:430:24:45

You keep going along the bottom. And I'm going to go up the wall.

0:24:510:24:53

Done.

0:25:000:25:01

What? You've got to do the whole wall.

0:25:030:25:06

Oh, what?!

0:25:060:25:07

Oh, hey, Ricky, we've got loads of likes.

0:25:150:25:18

How many have we got?

0:25:180:25:19

14.

0:25:210:25:22

Ooh, we've got 14 likes!

0:25:220:25:23

While Gav is working hard,

0:25:290:25:30

I'm having a little look through his stuff,

0:25:300:25:32

trying to find out what he does for a job.

0:25:320:25:34

Gav's box of clever things?

0:25:340:25:36

Yeah, right.

0:25:360:25:37

CRASH!

0:25:390:25:41

Ha-ha-ha-ha!

0:25:410:25:42

Right on his sticky beak.

0:25:420:25:44

Hey, Ricks, we are getting some great comments on this.

0:25:440:25:47

Oh, yeah. Let's get on with the art.

0:25:480:25:50

OK, Gav, one last finishing touch right here.

0:25:570:26:00

Come on, then, Ricky, I can't wait to see what it is.

0:26:020:26:05

There you go, Gav. I told you it would go well with micro CHIPS.

0:26:210:26:24

Ha-ha! Very good. And it's got a killer bite.

0:26:240:26:29

Indeed. Right, let's see what our subscribers think.

0:26:290:26:32

Wow, we're racking up the likes.

0:26:320:26:34

Wow! We might even be millionaires.

0:26:340:26:36

And I won't EVER have to come back to this office.

0:26:360:26:39

That's pixel perfect.

0:26:450:26:47

Coming, Gav? Fancy a bite?

0:26:490:26:51

Ah!

0:26:530:26:54

OWL HOOTS

0:26:580:27:00

HE SIGHS

0:27:020:27:04

Finally, a bit of privacy.

0:27:040:27:07

Today has taught me a valuable Art Ninja lesson.

0:27:070:27:10

To become a star on the internet, make some art that you won't forget.

0:27:100:27:14

Being online constantly is exhausting.

0:27:140:27:17

At least I can finally switch off now.

0:27:170:27:19

Right, people. That's Ricky.

0:27:250:27:28

Actually sleeping.

0:27:280:27:30

In your comments, you've said you want to see more

0:27:300:27:33

of the Brown Paper Bag Burst Challenge.

0:27:330:27:35

So check this out.

0:27:350:27:37

BANG!

0:27:390:27:41

Arrrrrghhhhh!
