-Hello!

-Hello!

-We are having a bit of a party.

6:49:376:49:41

That is because it is almost the Queen's Diamond Jubilee weekend,

6:49:416:49:46

where families will be celebrating the Queen's 60 years on the throne.

6:49:466:49:50

We have got fireworks and everything!

6:49:506:49:52

We are kicking off the weekend with our own Diamond Jubilee party,

6:49:526:49:56

and you're all invited!

6:49:566:49:58

They're enjoying the party, and we have got loads in store for you,

6:50:036:50:07

including a new and exclusive song

6:50:076:50:09

that will have you giggling for the next 60 years!

6:50:096:50:13

They are such legends!

6:50:136:50:15

I nearly said "lemons" - wrong word!

6:50:156:50:17

Gary Barlow will spill the beans on the biggest party

6:50:176:50:19

to hit Buckingham Palace for decades.

6:50:196:50:21

Plus, some CBBC faces

6:50:216:50:24

who have dropped in to show us how you can celebrate.

6:50:246:50:27

We would like you to get in touch and tell us

6:50:276:50:31

what you are doing this weekend to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee.

6:50:316:50:34

How and where and what are you doing

6:50:346:50:38

to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee this weekend.

6:50:386:50:40

Drop us an e-mail:

6:50:406:50:41

We could read out your message on the TV.

6:50:466:50:50

Tell us where you are from, so we can add you to our map.

6:50:506:50:53

We have been asking you this question all week,

6:50:536:50:56

and Posh Girl from London says,

6:50:566:50:58

"I'll just relax, proud to be British."

6:50:586:51:00

Let's give her a sticker on London...

6:51:006:51:03

-There is one from in West Wales.

-OK.

6:51:036:51:06

"I am having a picnic with my cousins."

6:51:066:51:09

It doesn't matter what you're doing, as long as you're celebrating.

6:51:096:51:13

-The next one, "I'm going to the Lake District."

-I know where that is!

6:51:136:51:17

That's Amethyst Great Elf.

6:51:176:51:19

This is because of one special lady,

6:51:196:51:21

Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth II.

6:51:216:51:24

Why have her 60 years on the throne been so special?

6:51:246:51:26

Brett and Domino are about to tell you.

6:51:266:51:29

Right, Jubilee song.

6:51:296:51:30

It's the Queen's Jubilee, so we're going to do a song.

6:51:306:51:34

-Oh, right. How old is she?

-Hm?

-How old's the Queen?

6:51:346:51:37

It's not her birthday, it's the Diamond Jubilee.

6:51:376:51:42

Oh, my grandparents had their jubilee last year.

6:51:426:51:45

Last September.

6:51:456:51:47

-I don't think they would have done. Have you seen the Jubilee on TV?

-No.

6:51:476:51:53

Maybe not.

6:51:536:51:55

I'll crack on with the song and you can see if you can pick it up.

6:51:556:51:59

TECHNO-STYLE MUSIC

6:52:056:52:07

# I'm talking about the Queen, see Diamond Jubilee

6:52:146:52:17

# It's a 60 year royal anniversary

6:52:176:52:19

# Because the Queen's been queen since 1952

6:52:196:52:22

# We're observing this occasion at the start of June

6:52:226:52:24

# So everybody, throw your hands up Lift them skywards

6:52:246:52:26

# And celebrate the reign of Her Royal Highness

6:52:266:52:29

# Because the fact that she's been queen for so long is cool

6:52:296:52:31

# But mainly because you get an extra day off school

6:52:316:52:34

# It's Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee

6:52:346:52:38

# The Queen's been sitting on the throne for the last 60 years

6:52:386:52:43

# I mean, obviously she's not just been sat on the throne

6:52:436:52:45

# This would cause pretty serious deep vein thrombosis

6:52:456:52:48

# In fact, quite the opposite is true, to put it bluntly

6:52:486:52:50

# In her life so far she's visited hundreds of countries

6:52:506:52:53

# And not just on holiday She's gone away

6:52:536:52:55

# Strictly on business. She's even been to Leeds, Leicester and Widnes

6:52:556:52:58

# Meeting and greeting important people from all nations

6:52:586:53:00

# I wonder how many hands she's shaken since the Coronation... #

6:53:006:53:02

-Probably quite a lot, I imagine.

-Yeah.

6:53:026:53:06

# So this is Her Majesty's third royal jubilee

6:53:066:53:09

# She had a silver one - that's 25 years - in the late '70s

6:53:096:53:11

# Then it was golden - that's 50 Are you keeping a tally?

6:53:116:53:14

# Brian May played his guitar on top of Buckingham Palace... #

6:53:146:53:16

PLAYS PART OF THE NATIONAL ANTHEM

6:53:166:53:21

-Oh, I remember that.

-Yeah?

-It was great.

6:53:276:53:30

# So what's she going to do this year to celebrate?

6:53:306:53:32

# Well, the Diamond Jubilee's the most significant of all of them

6:53:326:53:34

# The only other monarch to have had one is Queen Victoria

6:53:346:53:37

# There's going to be a concert, a parade, a procession

6:53:376:53:39

# A real carnival atmosphere despite the recession

6:53:396:53:42

# Wow, that sounds great You've really set the scene

6:53:426:53:44

# I'm interested to find out more about the Queen

6:53:446:53:46

# Queen Elizabeth was born in 1926

6:53:466:53:48

# To Queen Liz, the Queen Mother and King George VI

6:53:486:53:51

# She took to the throne when she was 25

6:53:516:53:53

# When her dad, King George Sadly suddenly died

6:53:536:53:56

# Now, she's head of the state of the United Kingdom

6:53:566:53:58

# And Australia, Canada and New Zealand

6:53:586:54:00

# In fact, the Queen's the head of 16 states, or nations

6:54:006:54:03

# I'll move things on a bit, I see you're losing concentration

6:54:036:54:06

# It's Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee

6:54:066:54:10

# The Queen's been sitting on the throne for the last 60 years

6:54:106:54:15

# She's got corgis She's got horses

6:54:156:54:18

# She's got horses and corgis she takes for walkies

6:54:186:54:19

# She's married to Prince Philip She's got four children

6:54:196:54:22

# And eight grandkids Including Harry and William

6:54:226:54:24

# So get out your seats and let me hear you scream

6:54:246:54:26

# Cos I'm running out of things to tell you about the Queen

6:54:266:54:29

# It's the Jubilee The Diamond Jubilee

6:54:296:54:31

# 2012, it's the J-U-B-I-L double E. #

6:54:316:54:35

CHEERING

6:54:526:54:54

They never let us down.

6:54:546:54:58

This is Michael. How are you celebrating?

6:54:586:55:01

It is the half-term, so that gives us more time

6:55:016:55:07

to spend with our family, and sisters, and parents.

6:55:076:55:13

-That is nice.

-I love his face paint. What about you, Grace?

6:55:136:55:16

What are you looking forward to?

6:55:166:55:19

I am looking forward to spending time with my family,

6:55:196:55:21

watching the concert, having a party.

6:55:216:55:24

-Josh, why do you like the Queen?

-She is wonderful and beautiful.

6:55:246:55:28

What a lovely thing to say. What would you do if you were the Queen?

6:55:286:55:32

We sent our travelling throne around the UK to investigate.

6:55:326:55:37

Our travelling throne has been gallivanting around the UK

6:55:386:55:41

to find out what you would do if you were King or Queen for the day.

6:55:416:55:45

I would make the waiting lists at the hospitals shorter.

6:55:456:55:49

If I were queen, I would NOT be wearing this right now.

6:55:496:55:53

If I was king, I would make everybody have food fights.

6:55:566:55:59

I'd get the Queen to go on my skateboard

6:55:596:56:02

and I'd push her down a hill.

6:56:026:56:04

If I was queen for a day, I would shop till I drop.

6:56:046:56:08

If I were king for a day, I would let children rule.

6:56:086:56:11

I love it. More from them later.

6:56:146:56:17

We had better move, this is a dangerous place to stand!

6:56:176:56:20

Still to come...

6:56:206:56:23

Stand by for a royal treat, Gary Barlow gives us

6:56:256:56:28

the inside story on the pop concert of the decade.

6:56:286:56:31

Plus, we take to the water to find out how to prepare

6:56:346:56:37

for the biggest boat pageant Britain has ever seen.

6:56:376:56:40

Hello, we hope you have a great Diamond Jubilee weekend.

6:56:426:56:46

-Have lots of fun!

-Make sure you stay safe and look after yourself.

6:56:466:56:50

Enjoy it!

6:56:506:56:52

-Have a happy Jubilee party!

-Whoo! The Queen, yes!

6:56:526:56:59

Thank you very much! That is beautiful.

6:57:016:57:05

Every good party has to have good food and good mates.

6:57:076:57:09

Things to keep you amused.

6:57:096:57:11

We have got some special guests. Hayley and Ore from Newsround

6:57:116:57:14

and Michelle from Deadly Art. We're going to do something very special.

6:57:146:57:18

This is very simple, you will see our lovely cupcake toppers.

6:57:186:57:23

You've got the face of Ore and Hayley

6:57:236:57:25

and lovely Michelle, with her big hair on the top.

6:57:256:57:29

I'm going to try and make these.

6:57:296:57:31

Go to the Blue Peter website and download these templates.

6:57:316:57:34

There's Royal themes, you can print Helen and myself,

6:57:346:57:38

whatever tickles your fancy.

6:57:386:57:42

Take some scissors, which are buried under here somewhere.

6:57:426:57:46

I'm going to do Michelle, by cutting her out like this.

6:57:466:57:52

-There's a line you can cut round.

-We do help you out with these things.

6:57:526:57:55

Just in case you're not too sure how good you are

6:57:556:57:57

at cutting round objects, the dotted lines will help to guide you.

6:57:576:58:01

You will end up with something that looks like this.

6:58:016:58:04

Michelle is now wearing a hat!

6:58:046:58:05

The idea is to get both sides open, flat on the table like that.

6:58:056:58:09

You put some glue on one side like this.

6:58:096:58:13

Very simply.

6:58:136:58:15

While I'm doing this, Hayley and Ore can tell us

6:58:156:58:17

-what they're doing for the weekend.

-What are we doing, Hayley?

6:58:176:58:20

We're going mad for the Jubilee.

6:58:206:58:22

-Everyone is.

-Newsround will be live outside the palace.

6:58:226:58:26

-Hopefully I'll get to see the Queen.

-You and Leah will be there.

6:58:266:58:30

Yeah, and we'll be outside St Paul's Cathedral

6:58:306:58:33

cos there's a big celebration going on apparently(!)

6:58:336:58:36

A large ceremony, we've heard.

6:58:366:58:37

Your timing is impeccable cos time's up. That's finished,

6:58:376:58:40

go and make it. Go to the Blue Peter website for more info.

6:58:406:58:44

Now over the last few months, you've probably seen this everywhere.

6:58:446:58:48

It is the official Diamond Jubilee emblem. Behind there is Tomor.

6:58:486:58:53

Say hello. Hi. Now this emblem has been all over the place.

6:58:536:58:56

It's on keyrings, T-shirts, mugs

6:58:566:58:59

and its story started right here on Blue Peter.

6:58:596:59:02

18 months ago, the Queen's Diamond Jubilee seemed like a long way off.

6:59:056:59:09

But when you're organising a host of national events like the ones

6:59:096:59:12

happening this weekend, you've got to start planning early.

6:59:126:59:16

So when Buckingham Palace contacted us about

6:59:186:59:21

a competition to design the emblem

6:59:216:59:23

for the Jubilee celebrations, we jumped at the chance.

6:59:236:59:27

We want you to design the official emblem of the Jubilee.

6:59:276:59:31

The winning design will be everywhere.

6:59:316:59:34

It will become the symbol of the celebrations.

6:59:346:59:36

And as usual, you lot didn't let us down.

6:59:366:59:39

We received more than 34,000 entries of an amazingly high standard.

6:59:396:59:44

In fact if we attached every entry together,

6:59:466:59:48

they could wrap around Buckingham Palace

6:59:486:59:51

22 and a half times.

6:59:516:59:52

Which gave us a bit of a problem about how to pick a winner.

6:59:546:59:58

-I like that because it's quirky.

-These three.

-I just love this one.

6:59:587:00:02

In the end it took 15 judges nearly 200 hours to sift through

7:00:027:00:05

each and every one of your brilliant designs...

7:00:057:00:09

until we found the one entry that stood out above all the others.

7:00:097:00:13

There it is, the official emblem

7:00:147:00:16

for Her Majesty The Queen's Diamond Jubilee,

7:00:167:00:19

-designed by Katherine from Chester.

-Yes, beautiful!

-She's here today!

7:00:197:00:22

CHEERING

7:00:227:00:23

-Bang bang!

-Well done, Katherine!

7:00:237:00:25

After a bit of fine-tuning, Katherine's final design

7:00:257:00:28

was revealed to the nation, looking absolutely phenomenal.

7:00:287:00:33

Katherine, there you go, that is your design, the official emblem.

7:00:347:00:38

-Are you happy with how it's turned out?

-Yeah.

7:00:387:00:42

As if getting to see her design on everything

7:00:427:00:44

from teapots to tea towels isn't enough,

7:00:447:00:46

Katherine even got to visit Buckingham Palace

7:00:467:00:49

to meet the Queen herself.

7:00:497:00:51

Hello, very nice to see you. So this is your winning design, is it?

7:00:517:00:56

What an amazing prize,

7:00:577:00:59

and an incredible story to tell for years to come.

7:00:597:01:02

CHEERING

7:01:057:01:06

Aw, and here she is, Katherine has joined our party.

7:01:067:01:10

-Lovely to see you. You must be very proud?

-Yeah.

7:01:107:01:13

Katherine, we've seen your logo everywhere, but in particular,

7:01:137:01:17

last week there was somewhere very special.

7:01:177:01:19

It was on the British Airways jumbo jet.

7:01:197:01:22

We have a picture. Look at that! How incredible!

7:01:227:01:25

Congratulations. That must've been so exciting!

7:01:257:01:28

-Thank you.

-It'll be incredible. So many things happening.

7:01:287:01:30

This weekend sees a boating pageant that'll take over the River Thames,

7:01:307:01:34

the likes of which haven't been seen for over 300 years in the UK.

7:01:347:01:38

Here's a sneak peek of what you can expect to see.

7:01:387:01:41

Sunday's Diamond Jubilee river pageant is going to be massive,

7:01:447:01:47

with 1,000 different boats escorting the Queen

7:01:477:01:51

down the River Thames in London.

7:01:517:01:53

So to give you a taste of what's to come, we're taking to the water

7:01:537:01:57

to get the inside story on what it takes

7:01:577:01:59

to prepare for such an important event.

7:01:597:02:02

Back a bit... Ow!

7:02:027:02:04

-Two, six!

-Heave!

-Two, six!

-Heave!

7:02:047:02:06

But while this weekend's boat pageant will be

7:02:067:02:08

the biggest the Thames has ever seen, it won't be the first.

7:02:087:02:11

This is a giant version of a very famous painting

7:02:117:02:15

by Italian artist Canaletto, which dates back to the 1750's

7:02:157:02:20

and shows a boat parade on the Thames

7:02:207:02:22

celebrating Lord Mayor's Day. With no photographs

7:02:227:02:25

or video, art was the only way of capturing this kind of event.

7:02:257:02:30

The original artwork has been in the Czech Republic

7:02:307:02:33

since it was painted over 250 years ago,

7:02:337:02:35

but in honour of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee river pageant,

7:02:357:02:39

its current owners have lent it

7:02:397:02:41

to the National Maritime Museum in London.

7:02:417:02:43

The painting's been carefully packed up in Prague

7:02:437:02:46

and it's been sealed, and to make sure nobody's interfered with it,

7:02:467:02:50

the guys have gone round and checked the stickers aren't broken,

7:02:507:02:53

so this should come out completely intact.

7:02:537:02:57

I'm here to watch as the experts

7:02:597:03:01

unpack this incredible piece of British history.

7:03:017:03:05

It is like a Russian doll. It came in a huge case.

7:03:057:03:07

We've taken off the outer crate, now we're in the inner crate!

7:03:077:03:10

By the time it comes out,

7:03:107:03:12

I'm worried it'll be the size of a postage stamp!

7:03:127:03:15

Finally open, it's time to check the condition of the paintwork.

7:03:157:03:19

Even the smallest dent or scratch will be a disaster.

7:03:197:03:23

-We noticed a little fly spot.

-What's a fly spot?

7:03:237:03:27

Um, it's a fly poo, politely!

7:03:277:03:29

-So a fly's flown in and done its business?

-Well...

-Yes.

7:03:297:03:33

I love that this painting was created in 1752,

7:03:337:03:36

it's travelled across Europe,

7:03:367:03:37

and the one thing causing a problem is a tiny little fly!

7:03:377:03:41

Despite one fly in the ointment, it's still in great condition,

7:03:427:03:47

and it's brilliant to have it on home turf.

7:03:477:03:49

But Sunday's Diamond Jubilee pageant could blow the river party

7:03:497:03:52

of 1750 out of the water.

7:03:527:03:54

Barney's been to meet the crew on one of those thousand boats.

7:03:547:03:58

The Sea Cadets were established over 150 years ago

7:04:007:04:02

to encourage young people to develop their team skills

7:04:027:04:05

through nautical-based adventures.

7:04:057:04:08

This weekend, boats from 55 Sea Cadet units will escort

7:04:107:04:13

The Queen down the Thames,

7:04:137:04:14

and one of them will be captained by cadets from the Salford unit.

7:04:147:04:18

Jordan and Kyle are part of that crew.

7:04:197:04:21

Good to see you. Let's talk about Sunday, a big thing. Are you nervous?

7:04:217:04:25

-Very.

-Definitely nervous.

7:04:257:04:26

What have you been doing to get ready?

7:04:267:04:29

Going down the canal, keeping distances, checking formations.

7:04:297:04:32

For this Sunday's pageant, all 55 Sea Cadet boats

7:04:327:04:35

will move into a diamond formation

7:04:357:04:37

to guide Her Royal Highness along the River Thames in style.

7:04:377:04:41

It's going to be quite a thing to see.

7:04:417:04:43

They won't have performed together before the event,

7:04:457:04:48

so I'm here to find out first hand how the crew

7:04:487:04:51

have been training to make sure the diamond looks, well, diamond.

7:04:517:04:54

You line the boat up where you want it to be,

7:04:547:04:56

and I'll just take over and we'll be good to go.

7:04:567:04:59

Instead of oars, the cadets are using their motor

7:04:597:05:02

to keep a steady speed and to ensure the diamond formation

7:05:027:05:06

is evenly spaced.

7:05:067:05:08

The boats need to keep exactly eight metres apart.

7:05:087:05:11

Am I at the right distance at the front?

7:05:117:05:15

The Salford Sea Cadets have been practising

7:05:157:05:18

with an eight metre-long rope

7:05:187:05:20

but on the day, they'll have to do it by eye.

7:05:207:05:23

-Back a bit!

-Back a bit? How?!

7:05:237:05:25

Good job I'm not responsible for getting it perfect,

7:05:257:05:28

especially as the cadets will have to keep it up

7:05:287:05:31

for seven miles and 2.5 hours.

7:05:317:05:33

You get a sense when you're doing this of how much the boys

7:05:337:05:36

have got to concentrate on

7:05:367:05:38

because this is a big day. It's the Queen's Diamond Jubilee

7:05:387:05:41

and they've got to be in formation for a long part of that journey

7:05:417:05:45

down the Thames.

7:05:457:05:46

This is going to look amazing on Sunday!

7:05:467:05:50

While Barney experiences the easy life on one of the smaller boats,

7:05:547:05:58

I have come to see how much hard work goes into ensuring

7:05:587:06:01

that the Sea Cadets' biggest ship takes pride of place on the Thames.

7:06:017:06:05

It's choppy at sea, isn't it?!

7:06:057:06:07

This is the TS Royalist.

7:06:127:06:14

At nearly 30 metres long, she's one of the most famous

7:06:147:06:17

and fastest of the Sea Cadets' vessels.

7:06:177:06:19

It's so large, she won't be part of the moving boat parade this weekend.

7:06:227:06:26

She'll be one of the 40 ships moored on the banks of the Thames

7:06:267:06:29

as part of the spectacular avenue of sails for the Queen

7:06:297:06:32

to pass on her journey.

7:06:327:06:34

The Royalist is normally moored in Portsmouth,

7:06:347:06:36

which is on the south coast of England and a four day sail

7:06:367:06:40

away from the Thames.

7:06:407:06:41

To make sure she gets to the pageant on time,

7:06:417:06:44

her crew of Sea Cadets started work very early this morning.

7:06:447:06:47

Erica, Jack, a quick word.

7:06:567:06:58

I know you guys have been on this ship before, haven't you?

7:06:587:07:01

But today is a big day because you're going to set sail to London

7:07:017:07:05

so that this ship can be part of the pageant.

7:07:057:07:07

That must be a huge honour, Jack.

7:07:077:07:09

Yeah, it is. Definitely. My grandad was a cadet.

7:07:097:07:12

He is very pleased I am following in his footsteps.

7:07:127:07:15

Is there anything that could get in the way of you

7:07:157:07:18

-getting to London on time?

-The weather conditions, mostly.

7:07:187:07:21

Have you had a look at the forecast?

7:07:217:07:23

It should be mostly sunny and hoping for winds.

7:07:237:07:26

At 9am it is time for the Royalist to set sail

7:07:307:07:33

and I'm going to help the crew on the first leg

7:07:337:07:35

of their four-day journey to the Thames.

7:07:357:07:38

From Portsmouth, the Royalist will travel east along the coast,

7:07:387:07:42

then north towards the mouth of the River Thames,

7:07:427:07:45

to her final destination, that is if everything goes to plan.

7:07:457:07:49

What else is going to effect your speed?

7:07:497:07:53

The tides, do they have an effect?

7:07:537:07:55

They can do because we have to dodge a lot of sandbanks on the way up

7:07:557:07:59

-along the south coast.

-So you could run aground?

7:07:597:08:02

You could, yes. You have to be careful.

7:08:027:08:05

I'm sure this crew of cadets wouldn't let that happen.

7:08:057:08:08

Right now, I'm counting on their experience

7:08:087:08:10

because my first job as Sea Cadet Skelton

7:08:107:08:13

is to climb the 24-metre mast to the top to let the sails down.

7:08:137:08:18

Bit of a head rush!

7:08:227:08:24

If the Royalist is going to reach London in four days' time,

7:08:247:08:27

all 11 sails need to be used to their best advantage.

7:08:277:08:30

It is amazing up here, isn't it?

7:08:327:08:34

You can see for miles, can't you?

7:08:347:08:37

With the sales released, it's straight back down the mast.

7:08:377:08:41

It's a bit nerve-racking because it's so narrow.

7:08:417:08:43

My next duty is to help the crew pull the sails into place.

7:08:437:08:47

-Two six...

-Heave!

7:08:477:08:48

THEY CHANT

7:08:487:08:49

"Two six heave" is a nautical term that helps the crew to pull

7:08:527:08:56

the ropes in time with each other. It doesn't make it any easier!

7:08:567:09:00

I think that worked. The sail's up!

7:09:007:09:02

So with the sails up, the TS Royalist is on course

7:09:067:09:08

to reach the Thames in plenty of time.

7:09:087:09:10

I am not going to be able to stay on board for her journey to London.

7:09:107:09:15

The Sea Cadets are going to drop me back on shore

7:09:157:09:17

before they continue along the coast towards the Thames.

7:09:177:09:20

But if you are watching the pageant on Sunday,

7:09:207:09:22

keep an eye out for the TS Royalist

7:09:227:09:24

and the Salford Sea Cadets.

7:09:247:09:26

They'll be taking part in this huge extravaganza,

7:09:267:09:29

alongside 1,000 other boats.

7:09:297:09:30

Back with our travelling throne, and worth finding out

7:09:347:09:37

what you love about living in the UK.

7:09:377:09:40

I love my country because there are so many nice people in it.

7:09:407:09:43

I like living in Great Britain

7:09:437:09:45

because I like going fast in my grandad's car.

7:09:457:09:51

I love living in Great Britain because you get to meet new friends.

7:09:517:09:58

I love living in Great Britain because you can eat your tea,

7:09:587:10:01

your fish and chips out of a newspaper.

7:10:017:10:04

As you can see, the Blue Peter Diamond Jubilee party

7:10:127:10:15

is in full swing. No party would be complete without these two.

7:10:157:10:18

Everybody, it's Ian and Kel. CHEERING

7:10:187:10:22

You are so welcome, people! You are so welcome!

7:10:227:10:25

What are you doing this weekend?

7:10:257:10:27

I'm not chatting you up, I'm just asking.

7:10:277:10:30

Chatting me up there!

7:10:307:10:32

I'm going to Brighton this weekend to hopefully enjoy some sunshine.

7:10:327:10:35

-Kel?

-We are filming Friday Download

7:10:357:10:37

and will probably have a little party.

7:10:377:10:40

We've been asking, how are you celebrating the Diamond Jubilee?

7:10:407:10:44

Amethyst says, she is going to be celebrating in the Lake District

7:10:447:10:47

-for seven days.

-Ian know where this is.

7:10:477:10:49

Pin it on. Joseph is going to be celebrating

7:10:527:10:54

with his nanna in West Yorkshire.

7:10:547:10:56

Which is here. Never eat Shredded Wheat - West!

7:10:567:11:00

Tanzanite is having a picnic with my cousins in west Wales.

7:11:037:11:06

West Wales on the map.

7:11:067:11:08

Wales is down here. Never eat Shredded Wheat!

7:11:087:11:10

Emily, who is in Liverpool, is having a big sleep over

7:11:107:11:12

and inviting all of her friends.

7:11:127:11:15

You know where Liverpool is.

7:11:157:11:17

-Liverpool!

-That was awful!

7:11:177:11:19

Charlotte from Cardiff says, "I'm going to a street party

7:11:197:11:22

"and I'm going to chillax."

7:11:227:11:24

Great word that, isn't it? So that's Cardiff.

7:11:247:11:26

Did you take geography at school?!

7:11:267:11:28

John in Fife is going to have a big Jubilee party

7:11:287:11:31

and wishes we could all go!

7:11:317:11:33

That's nice! Love Fife. Lovely part of the world.

7:11:337:11:36

Lucy says she is going to a fete in my village.

7:11:367:11:39

Let's stick Stratford-upon-Avon on the map, please.

7:11:397:11:42

I think we need to correct that.

7:11:427:11:45

One of the biggest things happening this weekend is a massive concert,

7:11:457:11:49

taking place outside Buckingham Palace.

7:11:497:11:52

You can watch it on TV on Monday night,

7:11:527:11:56

7.30pm on BBC One.

7:11:567:11:58

Such a special event required a special organiser

7:11:587:12:01

and we sent Sara Cox along to get the inside story

7:12:017:12:04

from the man behind the concert of the decade.

7:12:047:12:08

He's in one of the biggest bands on the planet,

7:12:107:12:12

he's a judge on the X Factor

7:12:127:12:14

and he managed to persuade a group of celebs to climb Kilimanjaro.

7:12:147:12:19

So when the palace decided to throw a huge concert

7:12:197:12:21

for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations,

7:12:217:12:24

who better to get on board and organise it than Mr Gary Barlow?

7:12:247:12:27

But even for a big star like Gary, putting on a Royal Concert

7:12:277:12:30

is a massive undertaking, especially as he's got a lot to live up to.

7:12:307:12:34

Back in 2002, the Queen hosted another mammoth musical festival

7:12:357:12:40

for her Golden Jubilee,

7:12:407:12:42

where huge stars like Sir Tom Jones from the Voice

7:12:427:12:46

and Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon took to the stage.

7:12:467:12:49

So the pressure is really on Gary to up the stakes this time around.

7:12:497:12:53

Seeing as the concert is being held outside the gates

7:12:547:12:57

of Buckingham Palace,

7:12:577:12:58

they've only let me inside to get the gossip off him.

7:12:587:13:02

I've been practising my curtsey, just in case I see the Queen!

7:13:027:13:06

Yeah, this is very nice, this will do.

7:13:127:13:15

This is where I'm going to chat to Gary in a minute.

7:13:157:13:18

Out there, on that balcony, is the place William and Kate kissed

7:13:187:13:21

on their wedding day.

7:13:217:13:24

Here we are.

7:13:277:13:29

-Look at this, eh!

-How are you?

7:13:297:13:31

-Are you OK?

-Lovely to see you. Come and sit down.

-Nice to see you.

7:13:317:13:36

Well then, when you got the call from the Palace

7:13:367:13:39

asking you to take on such a huge event, how did you feel?

7:13:397:13:42

It was very exciting.

7:13:427:13:44

Was a bit of you thinking you can't do it?

7:13:447:13:47

I think there always is.

7:13:477:13:48

Having seen the Golden Jubilee and how successful that was,

7:13:487:13:53

I wanted to make it look different, and feel different

7:13:537:13:55

and make it like ten years more improved.

7:13:557:13:59

How are you going to do that?

7:13:597:14:02

What we have tried to do is span it over 60 years of music,

7:14:027:14:07

so we've got somebody from every decade.

7:14:077:14:10

In fact, superstars such as Beatles legend Paul McCartney,

7:14:107:14:14

pop diva Jessie J,

7:14:147:14:16

Brit winner Ed Shearan and top boy band JLS have all agreed to perform

7:14:167:14:20

at this momentous event.

7:14:207:14:22

How did you get them all to perform?

7:14:227:14:26

Did you have them in your phone?

7:14:267:14:28

I like the idea of you being like, "JLS..."

7:14:287:14:32

A few, a few, yeah.

7:14:327:14:33

I knew most of the artists before this concert.

7:14:337:14:39

Did anybody say no when you asked them?

7:14:397:14:42

No, everybody was so up for this whole show.

7:14:427:14:47

It just proves the love for the Queen that everybody

7:14:477:14:50

wanted to be part of her celebration.

7:14:507:14:53

With the all-star line-up secured,

7:14:537:14:56

our Gary knew he had to deliver on a world-class stage,

7:14:567:14:59

so the whole concert is being centred around

7:14:597:15:01

the historic Victoria Memorial Fountains.

7:15:017:15:05

The stage is almost a 360, which means we can have some acts

7:15:057:15:08

pointing to the West, some to the north

7:15:087:15:11

and some to the east.

7:15:117:15:14

So the exchange of putting bands on is a lot easier.

7:15:147:15:16

-Good luck with it, Gary!

-Thank you very much.

7:15:167:15:19

I'm sure you don't need it.

7:15:197:15:20

I think we all need to pray for the weather

7:15:207:15:24

because what we don't want is rain.

7:15:247:15:26

We need sunshine, we need clear skies,

7:15:287:15:31

that would be beautiful.

7:15:317:15:33

With all the hard work going into that concert,

7:15:337:15:36

I think it's going to be a massive success.

7:15:367:15:38

All I need to do now is get myself some tickets. So just...

7:15:387:15:42

Hello, Gary Barlow? Yes, it's Sara, hi.

7:15:447:15:47

Sara Cox, I just spoke to you.

7:15:477:15:50

I'm after some tickets! No? Not even...

7:15:507:15:54

Well, just two, so I can bring my mum?

7:15:547:15:56

The final question we sent our travelling throne to answer is,

7:15:587:16:01

what are you looking forward to in 2012?

7:16:017:16:04

I'm looking forward to Euro 2012 because I'm an England fan.

7:16:047:16:08

This year we are looking forward to having a street party.

7:16:117:16:15

I am looking forward to the Queen's Jubilee this year.

7:16:157:16:18

This year I'm not looking forward to doing anything.

7:16:187:16:22

I'm looking forward to the Olympics, in particular, the BMX.

7:16:227:16:25

This year, I'm looking forward to actually becoming king.

7:16:257:16:29

I want a castle as well!

7:16:297:16:31

Every king has to have his own castle.

7:16:387:16:41

That's just the rules.

7:16:417:16:43

If you get a castle, you also get a crown.

7:16:437:16:45

We've got to go. We have enough time to tell you about next week.

7:16:457:16:48

Take a look. We will get the inside scoop on the Euro 2012 tournament

7:16:487:16:52

with BBC Sport's very own Jake Humphrey. He's a nice man.

7:16:527:16:55

You can find out what happens when we go on a bit of a road trip

7:16:557:16:59

to the two countries hosting the European championships.

7:16:597:17:02

I had to eat something not nice.

7:17:027:17:04

It was gross! And as you can see, I do a bit of dancing.

7:17:047:17:07

Join us live, 9 o'clock, on the CBBC Channel on Saturday morning.

7:17:077:17:10

We'll be in Belfast, when the Blue Peter Big Olympic Tour continues.

7:17:107:17:13

We've got a massive pop star on the show, so big, we can't tell you.

7:17:137:17:16

I've thrown your hat off the balcony. Sorry! That's it from us.

7:17:167:17:19

All that's left to say is - Happy Jubilee!
