The Golden Planet Clangers

Earth.

It's a familiar place to you and me, of course,

but it's an extraordinary place too.

And if we were to go off on a trip into space, I'm sure

we would find other places just as extraordinary in their own way.

Ah, that's definitely such a place. It's the Clangers' planet.

I think it deserves a visit, don't you?

There's Small Clanger

coming down in the music boat.

And there's Major Clanger. He's glad to see Small.

He needs a helping hand.

Major is very proud of his new rocket invention.

Small suggests a trip to the Iron Chicken's nest, or the hoop planet.

Major says that those are special places,

but he wants somewhere really special.

There must be somewhere new and extraordinary out there

amongst the stars.

Oh, yes, Small. Major could look through his best telescope.

Major thinks that's a very fine idea.

They've never seen the likes of it before. How very exciting!

Now Major's found his special place to visit,

all that's left to do is decide on who he'll take with him.

The Soup Dragon or a froglet perhaps?

Oh! Major was only teasing.

Of course Small can come.

Oh, but there's Mother Clanger with some garden

clippings for the sky moos.

She's coming over to see what Major and Small are up to.

Mother likes Major's new rocket. She thinks it's very fine indeed.

Major's telling her about the golden planet,

and that they're going to take a trip there.

Ah, Small says that he thinks that Mother should be the one to

go with Major first.

He's asking Mother if she'd like to join him

on his trip to the golden planet.

And Granny's come with her to see them off.

while they're gone.

It's some soup to enjoy when they reach the golden planet.

She wants to know what's going on.

Small's telling her about the golden planet they found.

She'd like to look in the telescope herself.

And now Mother and Major are ready to go.

Oh, the Soup Dragon always gets tearful when it comes to goodbyes.

Hold on. That's a bit odd.

When Tiny moves the telescope, the planet moves too.

Tiny has asked them to stop just before takeoff.

Woo!

Oh, dear. Tiny explains the disappointing news.

There's no golden planet.

She discovered that it was just a blob of glow honey from a glow

buzzer, stuck on the lens of the telescope.

Oh, dear. Poor Major.

Major says he's very sorry

but he has no special place to take Mother.

Mother tells Major not to be so silly.

Wherever her lovely husband is is a special place for her.
