This is the last of our Judges Audition shows and,

with only five places left, who's got what it takes to get through?

This is Comic Relief Does Glee Club 2013.

Hello and welcome back. This is Comic Relief Does Glee Club 2013.

The search for Britain's best young singing and dancing group.

This is the third and final Judges Audition show.

Today we're going to see eight of the last groups

performing for the judges.

All hoping they've got what it takes to become

the Comic Relief Does Glee Club of 2013.

But before all that, let's take a look back at some acts who

performed for us during the Glee Club tour of the UK.

Naomi and Glee Club judge John Body travelled the country

in their mission to find the best glee clubs Britain has to offer.

Their journey began in Newcastle,

where they saw some amazing talent from the North-East,

before heading across the water to Belfast.

One, two, three, whooo!

# Annie, are you OK? Will you tell us that you're OK? #

Next was Glasgow, where Scottish groups took to the stage

and wowed John with showstopping performances.

They've got attitude, the hoods are up, they're giving it everything.

Are you excited that we're finding talent in Glasgow?

Very excited about Glasgow. Love it.

The mission continued south of the border in sunny Manchester,

with more top groups going all out to impress.

And the talent kept on coming in Cardiff.

# Ain't no mountain high enough ain't no valley low enough... #

Finally John and Naomi headed to London, where the

-mission ended on a high.

-It's a whole hive of activity out here.

The standard on the tour was fantastic,

but it was down to John to select the top 24 glee clubs that

would perform again here at the Judges Auditions.

We saw groups from all over the UK,

and it's almost time to see the final eight perform.

But before that, let's meet the people they have to impress.

It's our judges.

Carrie and David are two of the UK's best known celebrity vocal coaches.

That was really good. I love your energy.

Breathtaking.

They've worked with a whole host of pop artists,

from the Spice Girls and Take That to The Saturdays.

Celebrity vocal and performance coach John has worked with

a variety of stars, from Leona Lewis to Olly Murs and Alexandra Burke.

He's also worked behind the scenes on top shows like The Voice

and X Factor.

Offering additional advice to the groups will be West End star

and X Factor winner, Joe McElderry.

He's recorded four albums

and his debut single, The Climb, topped the UK charts.

Soul singer and presenter Dionne Bromfield,

she's been nominated for a MOBO award, has recorded two albums

and finds time to present CBBC's Friday Download.

And X Factor finalist and television presenter Stacey Solomon.

Not only has she wowed audiences with her voice,

she's also a regular star on our TV screens.

Loads of groups applied for Comic Relief Does Glee Club,

but only the top 24 have made it to the Judges Auditions.

With only five places remaining in the studio heat,

there is everything to play for.

So let's meet the first of today's acts.

First up, it's The Peppermints, from Hartlepool.

'And they're hilarious.'

I liked them from the start. For me, they've got stage presence.

There's something quirky about them. I really like them.

And their sound was really good, so if they're anything like I saw,

you guys are in for a treat.

Here they are, The Peppermints.

The girls with the freshest breath in showbusiness.

How are you doing?

ALL: Fine, thank you.

How does it feel today about being in the Judges Audition show?

Can't wait. It's, like, so exciting.

-Brilliant. Fantastic.

-Yeah, they did good, didn't they?

It's a very rare moment

when you're watching people that are not used to doing this stuff,

where, as a judge, you can absolutely relax and enjoy it.

But I found myself completely relaxed and secure in your performance.

So confident, straight out the traps, all of you giving 100%.

Not one weak link. And one of your greatest strengths is your pitching.

It's so precise and so on it.

-Fantastic.

-Thank you.

-Look at her!

-"That's me, that's me."

-You're like energy bombs,

exploding all over the stage.

I could look at any of you and see the same amount of energy

and intensity and attitude.

That was fantastic.

ALL: Thank you.

I loved that you showed us how diverse

and beautiful all your voices were at the beginning

and then showed us all the energy and all of the fun that you bring

to the stage, and it was absolutely brilliant.

Really, really good.

Oh, I'm so proud of you all!

So how do you feel, having performed?

-Just... Just...

-I want to go and do it all again!

I thought they could never carry that first song.

To carry the first song

and two completely different emotions...

It showcased all of their talent.

So instead of just, "We can sing,"

or "We've got loads of energy and we can move around,"

they showed us both, which I think was really, really good.

How are you?

'Next we've got Activ8, who impressed me in Glasgow.'

They were very High School Musical. Lots of potential.

That's what I like to hear.

I like to hear people out of breath after they've performed.

You're looking very angelic today.

And you're all really quiet.

Are you all feeling a bit nervous?

ALL: Yes.

What is going on in your heads at the moment?

I have butterflies, but I don't know if it's nerves or excitement.

-A bit of both, maybe.

-Yeah.

Activ8, you were fantastic.

You all look terrified and I'm not quite sure why you look so terrified.

I could listen to your blend and your arrangements all day long.

Too many soloists. We need two people who sing really well.

Choose your strongest singers.

Your weapon is the ensemble arrangement blended singing.

That's your strength, not the solo stuff.

I liked the fact that you all sang,

because it showed that there isn't a weak voice in there.

Quite often there's a passenger.

-Um... Excuse me?

-I disagree with that.

-Oooh!

-I think there were strong singers in there

-and they need to make the most of those strong singers.

-Judges' rivalry! Love it!

..value your opinion,

but I'm ignoring it.

I liked the fact that there weren't any weak voices in there.

I liked the roles that you took.

Each of you took the right part for your voice.

Where I do think there was a weakness, I have to say,

was in the amount of energy that you gave the performance.

I want to see so much more pow! Ka-pow!

Because what you're doing is,

vocally you're giving it loads, visually

and physically it looked almost at times as though you were marking it.

You were singing it, you performed it Cinderella sort of cleaning

the sisters' house, the ugly sisters' house.

But you guys have the potential to actually perform

that like you're Cinderella at the ball.

You need to realise how good you are.

What are you going to do to try and have that confidence?

How are you going to put that into practice?

I think we should just all really kind of bring up our energy levels as well,

because I think we were all that nervous it took over a little bit.

What made you so nervous?

I think just because it was such a big stage

and everyone was just watching you.

I think we just panicked a bit.

-Didn't you think they all sounded good?

-Yeah, they did.

-Yeah.

-Yeah.

And as an ensemble, their arrangements -

the sound is great.

Both The Peppermints and Activ8 gave solid performances, though one

of the groups seemed to handle their nerves better than the other.

Coming up, another two glee clubs go all out to wow the judges.

That really, really impressed me.

The first half was quite good, the second half was fantastic.

I remember these girls quite well. They're an interesting mix of ages.

Is this because you are all sorts of different people in all sorts of different clothes?

Are they quite good at taking on feedback that you give them?

-They're fine. I'm really harsh.

They can't be harsher than you.

-In a nice way. They get it. It's just, you know.

Once you got into Laserlight, it was rock solid.

And the performance was there, the energy was there,

the joy was there, the sound was great, the solos were wonderful.

-Er, yes, yes!

The dynamics of your personnel are great.

Like big sisters, little sisters. It's like a unit. It actually works.

And the song choice, I have to say, is very clever.

If your teacher thought that up, good on them.

High five!

Yeah, I think you'll be a tough one to decide on, for sure.

I loved it. I absolutely loved it.

You were giving all this sassiness, I was, like, singing along with you.

But you sounded brilliant. You look amazing. I loved it. It was amazing.

Were you happy with how the performance went?

ALL: Yes!

Nothing you would have liked to have done differently,

or anything you could have improved or...?

ALL: No.

-That was the best you've ever done it?

-Yes.

I think one of the challenges for them as a group is actually

managing to marry together three really grown-up girls.

It looks like two bands, almost. It's like the kiddie band and the grown-up band.

And that's why it's a great name - Allsorts - cos they are.

But they just made it for me, with those songs.

Whether they'll be able to transfer that every single time,

to make sure all eight of them still feel like they're integrated

and not just two separate entities...

Up next, we've got Bittersweet, who really impressed me

when I first saw them in Glasgow.

They were really polished and committed to their performance.

-Yeah!

What makes you guys a glee club and what makes you excellent at it is you bring the third element to it.

The singing was really very, very good. The choreography was fantastic, it was sharp.

But you acted as well. You performed.

It was like watching a little, mini performance from a musical. It was really, very very good.

The only complaint I have is that you didn't bring a magazine with my face on the cover.

-We'll make you one.

-We will.

-I'll hold you to that.

I thought it was brilliant.

The one thing about when you're performing is when you're having fun

the people that are watching you instantly feel that relaxation.

You guys looked like you were having the time of your life up there.

It reminded us of something from Legally Blond,

that kind of femininity and Girl Power. Brilliant!

We really enjoyed it. We'll all be doing this now.

-We really liked your performance.

-You girls were great! How much fun was that?

-Wonderful!

-You really did enjoy yourselves, didn't you?

That to me is what a glee club is all about, actually.

-They've given it theatrical panache.

-They've thought about a show.

-Professional, slick, polished, engaging, animated.

-It was good.

-The minute the music started they were in it.

-Really engaged. No weak ones

That's the thing about the acting, they didn't come out of character at all throughout the whole thing.

Performing when you're dancing at that level and singing,

it's going to be really difficult to get the two things together.

But you did it really, really well.

Vast amounts of energy. I loved the energy.

My one little comment would be - for your soloists

I think you need to dance less,

so we get that tuning pitch perfect.

But apart from that, fantastic performance.

Thank you.

High energy and a lot of movement. A lot of choreography.

Maybe a little bit too much, and it did affect your singing.

But, overall, there's such an infectious energy about you

that I really like.

I thought it was fantastic.

Erm, it just made me smile from beginning to end.

And, your two eye contact...

When there's just four people in a room,

it's quite difficult to perform and hold the eye contact.

And you - well everybody did - but you two, I couldn't take my eyes off you two.

So well done. It was a brilliant performance.

You're all sweating, you obviously put in a lot of energy.

Are you at all worried because they did say that

some of the soloists were perhaps dancing a little bit too much.

You took a solo - what did you think of that?

It's a good thing, really, for me, because we all know what we need to do,

and what we need to work on to make it even better the next time.

That's a great way of thinking about it. Well done.

You have a really good ensemble sound.

You are what a glee club are.

My question to you is, why did you not choose a more complex song?

With such strong singers, such ability to do good harmonies,

I'd like to have heard more layering, more complexity,

because I think you're capable of more.

It makes me want to ask - are you confident enough?

I think we're really confident in all of our abilities.

We were all thinking that if we did get through,

that we would show you the more complex harmonies -

because we are capable of doing that,

but we thought we'd do the first round simple

and just show you, you know, what we can do.

Stick to the safe stuff.

-That's a nice enough comment.

-Constructive.

You sang a really rhythmic song, that requires real tightness,

and if one of you is out it really shows.

And none of you were out. You were really, really locked.

ALL: Thank you!

Your timing and your rhythm was fantastic.

Guys, I liked you from the beginning.

I liked you because you sing and perform as a unit.

I think you're strong vocally.

I think your faces are very animated and engaging,

and that's really what a performance is about as well.

Because you can sing well and have absolutely no expression on your face

and you lose your audience.

I think whatever we throw at you, you guys will deliver well.

-They said nice comments, didn't they?

-LAUGHTER

-Are you happy with that?

-So happy!

I think it was really special because, erm,

last year the main things we needed to work on was gelling as a group.

And they mentioned something about our rhythm being out,

which were the two things they just mentioned as being really good.

You've solved those problems!

Yeah, we've definitely improved.

-Now you've just got to make it more complicated!

-LAUGHTER

I'll be interested to see if they do have strong soloists.

-Yeah, I think they're in there.

-The one that sang first was good.

They just played it safe. It just felt a little bit safe.

They've also got a couple of people who aren't giving anything facially.

Mmm.

And you've got the front ones who are giving SO much,

that it makes the back ones look, like, not interested.

Is it too safe for them to get through, that's the thing?

# Hold on. #

Domino performed with full-on energy

and Figure of 8 showed the judges what a glee club truly is.

But did they play it too safe?

Next, the final two groups take to the stage.

Will GR8 Expectations and LS8 do enough to gain a place in the heats?

I loved it! I am thoroughly entertained.

You are terrifyingly brilliant.

From the minute you started singing, I was... No!

From the minute you turned around, I was, "Wow! This is incredible."

Right, next up we have Great Expectations from North Yorkshire.

Saw these guys in Manchester.

-Good morning, everybody.

-Good morning!

'They are very much a glee club.'

You talk about a wall of sound -

when they were singing, they were like the Niagara Falls of sound.

# He stands like a statue becomes part of a machine... #

Um, it was a bit overkill.

And I'm hoping that they have learned to blend better.

But I think they have potential, so, they're back.

Do you have any sections of your routine you're worried about?

-Or that haven't quite gone to plan in rehearsals?

-ALL: Not really.

Just if the boys spin like last time.

-What happened when the boys spin?

-We keep forgetting to do it!

-LAUGHTER

-So remember to spin! Yep.

Just before you go in, do you have any warm-up that you like to do?

-Did they do you proud?

-Yes, they did.

You look like a glee club, and I love your energy.

Those are the two biggest things for me that are great positives.

Lots of big voices.

One thing you really need to look at, which is amongst the girls -

some of you have got those big belty chest voices,

and then you've got the higher girls with their head voices,

who sound...

-HIGH-PITCHED:

-# A little bit like this... #

Those two sounds are SO different,

you've got to work out how you can get those voices to blend together.

It would be much more powerful if you could do that.

-Altogether, I found you really entertaining.

-ALL: Thank you.

I like the fact you started with the boys. That's really strong.

But it's when you all came in together on

-"He stands like a statue." Suddenly it was like...

-HE CLICKS FINGERS

Ping! The lights go on - I get it that's your sound.

That harmony sound.

It's a great sound.

That's your strength, really play that up.

I was not expecting that at all, but I'm saying it was brilliant.

I loved it from the minute you started singing I was, wo... No!

From the minute you turned around, I was, "Wow! This is incredible."

-Will.

-Your facial expressions were amazing!

-Thank you.

The whole time I couldn't stop looking at you.

Girls, you were brilliant. And the two boys, as well. It was fantastic.

Loved it.

They said some lovely things to you!

What did you make of all their comments?

They were so complimentary. Like, they were really nice, like...

It was just generally, really kind of them to say those things.

-And you spun!

-ALL: Yes!

Oh, excellent. I'm very pleased. You did fantastically well.

And you had lovely comments. So go and chill out.

ALL: Thank you.

One of my issues was that they were over-singing. Continuously.

And in a small room, at one point, I was just, like - whoa, too much!

I hope they learn to blend better.

They should know - actually, some of us are really shouty-shouty sounding,

and some of us are really holy-sounding,

and those voices don't match.

-They looked amazing.

-Yeah. The energy.

I felt like I was at the theatre watching them.

So I really enjoyed that.

Right, next up we have LS8 from Leeds

So you've got a big character part How do you prepare yourself for that?

You have to get like really creepy, so you get into weird positions.

So is that what your leader told you - to be all creepy and weird?

-Yeah.

-All of you have got to be creepy and weird?

They do creepy and weird very well.

They're creepy and weird kids. No, they're not!

-Really happy. I'm always happy with them.

Well, for me that was Triple A Star with knobs on!

On Glee Club, we have never mentioned speak singing before,

that was one of the best performances of speak singing I've ever heard. Fantastic!

Everyone on that stage performing at 150%, no weak links.

-I loved it! I am thoroughly entertained.

-ALL:

-Thank you.

I normally hate it when young people do that song,

because you've got to be completely over the top and totally unselfconscious.

And at your age most people aren't, but you guys were. And you, John, were brilliantly demented leading it.

And the rest of you matched him. You were terrifyingly brilliant.

-ALL:

-Thank you.

-I was breathing for you there.

I was out of breath for you. You're not even out of breath, that's incredible.

And the vocals as well. For how much dancing you were doing,

you could hardly tell that you were even dancing, there were no shakes or bumps or anything.

-ALL:

-Thank you.

-Well done.

It's the first time I've heard it. ALL LAUGH

It's... It was great because I was demented.

-I thought they were brilliant.

-Yeah. I love those too. Definitely.

-Really?

-Yeah.

-They're a definite yes.

-We loved them.

One can go through and two have to go.

I found there was something a little more genuine about them for some reason over them.

-OK, they'll go. So now it's down to these two. Of these two?

-Yeah?

-They should go through. Is that a yes from you, John?

-It's yes from me.

-I haven't said yes.

-Why are we arguing this? There's two people saying yes, one saying no.

You're out-ruled.
