Welcome to Copycats, with your hosts Sam and Mark.
And today's Copycats are...
Lottie's team from Middlesex and Lauren's team from Derbyshire.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Good. It's good.
Hello and welcome to Copycats, the game show where copying is good.
-What's that smell?
-Ah, you must mean my new aftershave.
I've developed it with some top names in Paris.
It has a woody aroma with a top note of sage and a hint of citrus.
Oh, really. Two can play at that game, sonny Jim,
because I have developed my own aftershave
with a little help from my friend smelly Bob. Have a sniff.
HE SNIFFS, GAGS
-What is that?
-Well, smelly Bob calls it odour toilette.
I can understand why. How would you describe the it?
Well, I think it has an aroma of pineapple
with a top note of cheese and onion crisps and a hint of leather.
-Is it not nice?
-No. Let's meet the teams before I pass out.
CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
Lottie, team captain. How you doing?
Great, I'm really excited.
-Good. I'm very excited too. Teams, you all excited? ALL:
Excellent. First, let's get to know you guys a bit better.
So here's your audition tape.
This is why you are on Copycats.
Oh, no, it's going so... Don't show me, it's so embarassing!
This is my eyebrow.
Chris fie Chris, tiddly-iss chri-chris, chri-chris tiddly iss, that's how you spell Chris.
Well, the best of luck. It's Lottie's team, everybody.
Over here we've got Lauren's team.
High five. Everyone looking forward to it?
-Yes. This is why you guys are here on Copycats.
-# It goes on and on and on and on.
Very, very talented team.
We can have a lot of fun. Lauren's team, everyone! Awesome.
Our teams are ready to start copying.
The teams will take it in turns to copy pictures,
actions and displays of musical genius.
Each team will face the Copycats challenge and a chance to win
the ultimate money can't buy prize. It is the Copycats trophy.
We tossed a coin so Lottie's team will play first. Let's play Copycats.
I hope you've been brushing up on your artistic skills
because it's time to play Quick On The Draw.
I've got three cards. You pick one.
You have ten seconds to draw what's on the card
to the person next to you. Any good at drawing?
-Not too bad.
-Good. There is a maximum of 50 points
in this round but you lose ten points for every incorrect answer.
Perfect pictures get perfect points. Copycats, are you ready?
-Yes. Yes, we are. Let's close the doors.
OK, Ian, pick a card. We've got pink, yellow or blue.
Pink. Reckon you can draw that?
-You've got ten seconds.
The best of luck. Ready steady draw.
Eh, Lottie, your turn. Not bad.
Ten seconds is not a long time.
OK, Annie, your turn.
Julia, your turn.
Time's up. Stop drawing.
Annabel, for 50 points, what's the answer?
Is it a zebra?
It's not, which means we're playing for 40 points.
Open the door, please.
Julia, what is it?
I think it might be a tiger.
It's not, which means we're playing for 30 points.
What has Anna drawn?
Um, a cat?
It's not a cat which means we're playing for 20 points.
-Anna, what's the answer?
It's not a turtle but you're very, very, very close.
-OK, is it a tortoise?
Well done, guys. You get ten points.
-We've got yellowy gold or bluey blue.
-Have a look.
-Got that in your head?
-Best of luck.
Ready, steady, draw.
Open the door.
OK. It's good drawing, very good.
That's an interesting drawing.
OK. Here we go.
Come on, Bridie.
And it was all going so well. Go on, Steve.
Oh, some interesting drawings there. OK.
For 50 points, Eleanor, any idea what we're looking for?
Is it a mountain?
It is not a mountain. It's a good guess though.
-For 40 points. Steve, what we looking for?
-I'm hoping it's a bell.
It does look like a bell. It's not correct. This is where it got weird.
OK, for 30 points, what has Julie drawn there?
-Is it a volcano?
-That's a cracking guess.
I see where you're going but it's not the answer that I've got on the card.
OK. For 20 points, Julie.
It looks like a whale.
Unfortunately that's wrong.
I really want it to be right though.
OK. For ten points, it's a good drawing, ten seconds there.
-Is it a baseball cap?
You get yourselves ten points. Well, done.
So after Quick On The Draw, our Lottie's team,
the tortoise or the hare in this race?
Have Lauren's team been given a STRIKE? The scores.
Mr D, what could they be?
After Quick On The Draw, Lottie's team have ten points
and Lauren's team also have ten points.
-It makes me want to punch in the air.
Now we'll test our team's skill, nerve and determination.
Yes - it's serious, this is the Copycats' Challenge.
Lottie's team won the toss, so they go first.
Lauren's team, we're going to send you off
but you are coming back, don't worry.
Lottie, you need to select three people
to face the fast and furious Copycats Challenge,
but let's see what's in store. Mr D, over to you.
The tubes. An image of a coloured tube will be displayed.
Players must place a ball in the corresponding tube
and catch it as it exits.
Ten points for every successful catch.
Three, two, one. Let's roll.
The green one.
This is Fast and Furious.
Lottie, team captain, goes first.
Yes. Well done.
In at one end of the blue tube. Oh, you mustn't touch the tube.
In at one end. Oh, yes!
Lottie, the white. In at that end, catch at the other.
Again, the black tube. Very fast this one. Oh.
Ian. Blue tube.
Here it is. Yes. Well done.
Green. In at that end, you've got to catch it at the other. Very good.
Roisin. Yellow tube.
In at that end, quickly round... Aaah.
Red.Catch it if you can. Yes. Well done.
Next it's Lottie.
-30 seconds left.
And it's Ian next. Black tube.
A very steep angle. Quickly round.
White. Again, it's quite a steep angle, but she's done it.
-10 seconds left.
Green tube. In at the top. Catch it.
Don't touch the end of the tube. Well, done.
Ian. Red. Oh, is he in place? Yes, he is.
That was great. Ian, you got that last one just in time. Brilliant.
-You happy, Lottie?
We will add those points to your total after the music round.
Lauren's team still face the Copycats challenge.
The points from these challenges could win you a dream ticket to the ballroom. Round of applause.
Hello, Lauren's team, and welcome to Mime Time.
I've got three cards in my hand. Pick one, you have ten seconds
to mime what's on the card for the player next to you,
which is Julie, and then so on down the line.
Remember, we are looking for silent performances.
There's 50 points to be won. If you know the answer, add more detail so the mime gets to the end of the line.
Perfect performances mean perfect points.
-Copycats, are you ready? ALL:
Fantastic. Let's close the doors.
OK, Lauren. Three cards.
I've got a blue blue, a pinky pink and a yellowy gold.
-OK. Have a look.
-Yeah. Got that?
Best of luck, Lauren.
Ready, steady, mime. Open the door.
OK. For 50 points, John, what's the answer we're looking for?
Changing a light bulb?
And you get the maximum 50 points. Well done.
-OK, we've got two cards left. We've got pink or blue.
Can you do that?
Ten seconds. The best of luck.
Ready, steady, mime.
That was great. Annie, you're turn.
OK, Roisin, your turn.
Julie, your turn.
OK. Ian, for 50 points, what's the answer?
-Driving a car.
-That's not the answer,
which means we're playing for 40 points. Annabel.
Milking a cow.
It's not. Great answer!
We're playing for 30 points. Julie?
Doing the washing.
It's not doing the washing. For 20 points, Roisin, what do you reckon?
Maybe reading the newspaper or something.
Nice thinking but it's not the answer. For ten points.
Any idea, Anna?
Is it like a milkman?
It wasn't a milkman. Tell everybody, Lottie?
-Putting petrol in a car.
-That's what it was. It was really good!
Sadly you get no points, but give them a round of applause.
So after Mime Time, Lauren's team,
down the discoteque celebrating and doing the light bulb dance.
Lottie's team filled up the car but then left it at the petrol station.
The scores. Mr D, what could they be?
Well, Sam, after Mime Time, Lottie's team still have ten points
and Lauren's team have 60 points.
Time to get serious again - Lauren's team face the Copycats Challenge.
Earlier, Lottie's team scored important points but did they do enough? Time will tell.
Now, Lauren, it's your chance to add some crucial points to your score.
Lottie's team, it's time for you to leave but you will be back. Bye.
The results will be revealed at the end of the music round
when extra points determine which team wins tickets to the ballroom.
Lauren, you need to select three people to face the challenge.
But you get to have a look at what's in store. Mr D, what could it be?
The Tubes - an image of a coloured tube will be displayed.
Players must place a ball in the corresponding tube and catch it as it exits.
Ten points will for every successful catch.
In three, two, one, let's roll.
Ten points for each successful catch then.
Green first for Lauren.
Puts it in, she needs to catch it at the other.
Bridie puts it into the blue and catches it at the other end.
-This one's a hard one.
-Next, it's Julie.
This is mum. Didn't quite make it.
Lauren. White tube. Very steep angle that.
Good try. Bridie.
Black. Again, this is quite steep.
Lauren. Come on, we need to score here.
On the green.
Yes. Well, done. Bridie.
In one end, catch it at the other.
That's what you have to do. Right, Julie, Mum, come on.
In the red, catch it.
In the blue. Yes.
Now we're scoring. Bridie.
The white one is difficult. Goes through very, very quickly.
OK. Julie next. Black. Put it in at one end.
Catch it at the other. Excellent.
Now, Lauren again. Oh.
Now, Bridie. It's the green one.
Race round, catch it at the other end.
Oh. The whole tube moved there. That won't count, I'm afraid.
-And time is up.
You did really well. Happy?
-You're shattered, aren't you?
Only one more round to play before we add those points to your total.
Welcome back, Lottie's team. This is the music round.
Pick a well-known tune, recreate it using the Copycats kazoo.
HUMS THEME FROM "Strictly Come Dancing"
-Do you know what that was?
-That's Strictly Come Dancing.
-Yeah. It was.
Roisin, you need to listen to Anna carefully
because will pass it down the line.
There's 50 points up for grabs.
Could everybody except Anna please put your headphones on so you don't hear which song's been selected?
OK. Our Copycats look ready. Let's close the doors.
-OK. We've got blue, yellow or pink.
-Yellow. Take a look.
-Do you know that song?
No. Well, don't worry cos we are going to play it into the studio.
MUSIC: "Bad" By Michael Jackson
OK. You've got ten seconds. The best of luck. Ready steady play.
Julia, your turn.
Ian, your turn.
Lottie, for 50 points, what's the answer we're looking for?
I'm just going to say I Don't Feel Like Dancing by The Scissor Sisters.
It's not. Thanks for guessing.
We're playing for 40 points. Ian.
-I was going to say YMCA.R
-Yeah. That's what you were playing.
# Young man! #
It's not the YMCA which means we're playing for 30 points.
-Telephone by Lady Gaga and Beyonce.
It's not which means we're playing for 20 points. Julia.
I'll say Angels by Robbie Williams.
Good song. It's not Angels.
Roisin. Ten points. Any idea?
-By Girls Aloud.
It's not. Anna, do you want to tell everybody?
-Bad by Michael Jackson.
-Let's hear it.
MUSIC: Bad by Michael Jackson
That means you don't get any points but give them a round of applause.
Julie, I've got two cards left. Which one would you like?
-Pink to make the girls wink.
-Have a listen.
# And I promise you, kid
# That I give so much more than I get
# I just haven't met you yet. #
Best of luck to you, Julie.
Ready steady play. Open the door.
Come on, Bridie.
Go on, Steve.
PLAYS DIFFERENT TUNE
OK. Go on, Eleanor.
PLAYS ANOTHER DIFFERENT TUNE
Go on, John. Carry on. It's brilliant.
Stop playing, please.
A maximum of 50 points. The best of luck to you, Lauren.
What's the answer we're looking for?
It's not what I've got on my card.
Let's open the door for 40 points, please.
-John, what are we looking for?
By Lady Gaga. It's not, I'm afraid. Let's open the door for 30 points.
Come on, Eleanor.
Poker Face by Lady Gaga.
It's not correct, I'm afraid. OK. Let's open the door for 20 points.
-I'm going to say the theme from the A-Team, I think.
It's not the theme from the A-Team.
Let's open the door. Come on, Bridie.
-You can get this. Ten points.
-Is it Don't Stop Believing by Journey?
What a song. What a song! But it's not. Julie, come on, tell us.
# Just haven't met you yet... #
By Michael Buble. Have a listen.
# And I promise you, kid, To give so much more than I get
# I just haven't met you yet... # Bridie singing along
but we didn't get it right but give them a round of applause anyway.
Lottie's team have 10 points and Lauren's team have 60 points.
There are 50 points between the teams
but we still have to reveal the scores from the Copycats' challenge.
Which team triumphed over the tubes
and which team are doing a victory dance to the Copycats ball room?
-I can reveal that one team got 50 points in the challenge.
I can also reveal that one team got 90 points which means the team going
through to the Copycats ball room and playing for the trophy is...
Commiserations, Lottie's team. Have you enjoyed yourselves?
Thank you for coming on the show. Give it up for Lottie's team!
You've made it this far but now it's time to compete
for the lovely shiny springy thing that is this, the Copycats' trophy.
here is the ball room.
Lauren, who have you chosen to take part in the ball room?
-Myself, Eleanor and John.
Let's take a look at what you have to do to win this.
-Don't touch it, Mark.
-The ball room. Players are each assigned a colour.
They must catch 12 of their colour and deposit them in the cylinders
before the time runs out. Good luck.
OK, team, and if you're ready, in three, two, one, blast the balls.
We need 12 of each colour. Left to right, it's Eleanor catching
the blue balls, John the yellow and Lauren the red balls.
Lots of enthusiasm from outside the ball room, inside, plenty of action.
How are we doing so far? Let's take a look, shall we?
And in fact, look at that. Lots of yellows in there.
Reds and blues, as well.
John's doing particularly well with the yellow balls and his cylinder.
Look at that. He's almost there.
He is now.
He can now help Eleanor and Lauren with the blue and the red balls.
That's exactly what he's doing now, look.
Excellent. In goes a blue.
30 seconds, guys. Come on.
Now, look at this, another red going in there.
And another two going in from John which is good news.
In your face, ball room, you smashed it,
..which means Lauren's team are the Copycats champions.
-Have you had a good time, guys?
Wait one second.
-It's the end of the show.
-Shut your stinking face.
I will. I will. But we will be back next time on Copycats. Bye.
