Welcome to Copycats! With your hosts, Sam and Mark!
And today's Copycats are... Fainche's team from Newry
and Kuda's team from Milton Keynes!
-And welcome to Copycats, where copying is good.
Sammy boy, I get more recognition in the street because of this show.
-It's doing wonders for my street cred.
-It happens to me, too.
The other day, this boy said, "Mummy, it's Michael McIntyre!"
-I look nothing like him!
-You do. Shall we meet today's teams?
-That was good.
Fainche, team captain. How are you doing?
-I'm doing grand.
-Excellent. Do you think I look like Michael McIntyre?
Now it is tradition for us to get to know you guys a little better.
So we're going to take a look at your audition tape.
THEY ALL SING
# Hey, Mickey, you're so fine You're so fine you blow my mind... #
# You take the high road and I'll take the low road... #
Yeah! It's Fainche's team, everybody!
-We've got Kuda's team. Give me a high five! Yes! All good?
We're going to have a look at your audition tape.
I can't wait.
I can hold a tune better than Jedward.
# Baby, they're tumbling down... #
It's Kuda's team, everyone!
It looks like our teams are ready to start copying.
They will take it in turns to copy pictures, actions and music.
Then each team will take it in turn to face the Copycats Challenge
and a chance to win the ultimate prize - the Copycats trophy!
-We tossed a coin and Fainche's team are playing first.
Let's play Copycats.
All right, Fainche's team. I hope you brushed up your artistic skills.
It's time for Quick On The Draw. Paul, I've got three cards.
Pick one, then you have 10 seconds to draw whatever's on that card.
And so on down the line.
There's 50 points to be won,
but you'll lose 10 points for every incorrect answer.
-Copycats, are you ready?
-Awesome. Let's close the doors.
-Paul, yellow, pink or blue?
-I'm going to pick pink.
-You can draw that?
You've got 10 seconds. Ready, steady, draw.
Very good. Fainche, your turn.
That is quick drawing.
OK, Maeve, your turn.
Matthew, your turn.
OK, Marian, your turn.
Time's up! Stop drawing. Wow!
OK, Jennifer. For 50 points, what do you think the answer is?
-The sun with...mountains.
-The sun with mountains. It's not.
We're playing for 40 points. Marian?
An island with... three strawberries and...
-Yes, keep going.
-And the sea.
It's not, sadly, which means we're playing for 30 points. Matthew?
-A weather broadcast or something?
-It's not. Playing for 20 points.
-It's a rainbow!
Well done, guys. You got 20 points!
-OK, Ray. I've got two cards here.
-Yellow and gold.
Have a look. Got that in your head?
-OK. Ready, steady, draw! Open the doors.
This is incredible.
Oh, this is brilliant.
Go on, Shane!
OK, come on. Final, final drawing.
Come on, yeah.
With time to spare as well! Could have had more detail. Stop drawing!
For a maximum of 50 points, Kerry, what are we looking for?
It is not Bigfoot. OK, let's open the door.
-Sabada, for 40 points.
-It must be a big snail or something.
It is not a snail. OK, Shane, for 30 points.
-What is that?
-Lynnette, for 20 points?
-Some sort of a map?
It is not a map. Not what we're looking for.
OK, finally, for 10 points.
Kuda, what on earth is that?
-Oh, I tell you what, you're closer than I thought. Ray?
-Shamefully, it's a squirrel.
-It's a squirrel!
Where does the squirrel come into it?!
Unfortunately, Kuda's team, you get no points.
But I loved it. Give them a round of applause.
So have Fainche's team found the pot of gold at the end of their rainbow?
And have Kuda's team gone nuts after that? Let's look at the scores.
Well, Mark, after Quick On The Draw...
A long way to go. This round tests skill, nerve and determination.
The game just got serious. This is the Copycats Challenge.
-Fainche's team won the toss to go first.
-OK, Kuda's team,
-we're going to send you off, but you are coming back.
Now, Fainche, as team captain, you need to select three people
to face the mind-blowing Copycats Challenge. Let's see what it is.
-Mr D, what could it be?
An image of a completed puzzle will be displayed on the screen.
You must copy it by sliding the tiles into position.
10 points will be awarded for every square in the correct place.
In three, two, one, slide.
The Puzzle, the completed one is on the screen there.
They have to translate that to what appears on the floor.
Get as many of these tiles in the right place as you can.
All of them if possible.
A lot of movement going on.
A circular motion usually helps in this game.
They're difficult to move. You can't kneel or stretch over it.
It is not allowed.
Pull that one down and red across.
-Oh, Maeve offering advice.
She's obviously played this before. She's pretty vocal as well.
I hope the advice is good.
We'll find out very shortly.
Keep that yellow and red there.
Quite a few in place already, which is good news.
So that advice is good after all.
-Red one down, black over.
Makes you wonder why she's not playing the game!
Very good advice. Look at that. The completed puzzle is down there.
This is not far off. 15 seconds.
-Keep the red.
If you start moving too many, you'll move them out of place.
I'd probably leave them there.
Time's running out!
Come over here, guys. Well done.
I think you did the right thing by pausing at the end
because you got 12 blocks in the right place.
-We will add those points to your total after the music round.
Kuda's team still need to face the Copycats Challenge.
The points could make all the difference. Well done, team.
All right, Kuda's team? It's time to play Mime Time.
Kuda, I've got three cards. You'll pick one.
You then have 10 seconds to mime it for Lynnette.
-And it goes down the line. Understand?
-There is a maximum of 50 points. Copycats, are you ready?
OK, let's close the doors.
-OK, Kuda. I've got a pink one, a yellowy-gold and a blue.
-Have a look at that.
-Best of luck. Ready, steady, mime.
Open the door.
OK. All right, Lynnette?
All right. Come on, Sabada.
All right. Finally, Kerry. Go on.
OK, stop miming!
-For the maximum 50 points, Ray?
-Unrolling a hosepipe?
That's not it. Kerry?
Curtseying to the Queen?
Not curtseying to the Queen. For 30 points, Sabada?
-I thought he was bowling.
-It's not what we've got, I'm afraid.
-Come on, Shane.
-It's not, I'm afraid.
-Finally, for 10 points.
Oh, it's not a yo-yo.
-Kuda, what was it?
-Rolling a dice.
So unlucky, Kuda's team. No points, but give them a round of applause.
Yellow or pink? The pink one.
-Reckon you can do that?
-10 seconds. Ready, steady, mime.
Maeve's nodding her head. Good sign.
All right, Maeve, your turn.
Matthew's looking a bit confused!
All right, Matthew, your turn.
Marian, your turn.
Time's up! Stop miming!
-OK, Paul, for 50 points, what do you think?
-Feeding the birds?
-Nice thinking, but it's not. Jennifer?
We're playing for 30 points. Marian?
-Throwing a frisbee?
Well done, guys. You get yourselves 30 points.
So after Mime Time, have Kuda's team rolled a double six?
And are Fainche's team winning gold at the ultimate frisbee contest?
Time to find out the scores, Mr D.
Well, Sam, after Mime Time...
Time to get serious as Kuda's team face the Copycats Challenge.
Earlier on, Fainche's team scored some important points,
but did they do enough? Now, Kuda, it's your chance.
-Are you ready?
-Yes, I am.
-That's what I like to hear!
Fainche's team, it's time to say goodbye. Off you go, see you later!
The results of the challenge will be revealed after the Music round
and may determine which team wins their tickets to the ball room.
Kuda, you now need to select three people to face the challenge.
Before that, you get to see what's in store.
An image of a completed puzzle will be displayed on the screen.
You must copy it but sliding tiles into position.
10 points are awarded for every square in the correct place.
Good luck, guys. Three, two, one, slide.
There is the completed puzzle - same as for the first team.
You have to translate that into what appears
on the floor there.
Sabada and Ray on the left, Kuda on the right, team captain.
And some advice from Shane there for good measure.
-Move the red up.
-Get a bit of movement going, guys.
Time runs out before you know it.
That's good, that's good.
-You've got one minute left.
-Ray's getting close to crawling on!
Whatever you're thinking, you've got to act quickly.
They are discussing it. Good.
-I think Shane should be playing, don't you?
-Get the yellow on the bottom.
-The first team were a lot quicker.
-I'm not sure if that's the answer.
-Keep talking, guys.
-Black one down, that's it.
Time's running out, guys.
-You've got just 20 seconds.
-That's good, guys.
-Keep them moving.
-The black goes where the red is.
-Nine, eight, seven...
-Haven't got long to go!
-That's the trouble.
-Red and black!
-Time's running out!
-That's not bad at all. You think you did all right?
You got seven pieces in the right place, so you did very well.
Only one more round to play before we add those points on.
We like to keep you guys guessing. Round of applause.
Welcome back, Fainche's team. Let's play the Music Round. Maeve,
you pick a well-known tune, then play it with the Copycats kazoo.
Matthew, you listen to what Maeve plays very carefully.
You're passing it down the line.
Could everybody except Maeve put your headphones on?
There is a maximum of 50 points up for grabs. OK, close the doors!
We've got three tunes here. Yellow, pink or blue?
-It has to be pink.
-Take a look. You know that song?
-Yep. Sort of.
It's a great song. Let's hear it.
# Cos maybe
# You're gonna be the one that saves me
-# And after all... #
-# Shi-i-i-ine! #
OK, best of luck. 10 seconds. Ready, steady, play!
SHE PLAYS THE TUNE
Marian, all right...
PLAYS RANDOM TUNE
Oh, dear. Jennifer?
BARELY ANY TUNE AT ALL
Paul, your turn!
PLAYS HIS OWN TUNE
Time's up! Stop playing!
Wow. Brilliant. Fainche, 50 points, what's the answer we're looking for?
-The Wombles of Wimbledon?
-No, it's not.
OK, for 40 points, Paul?
-It's not. We're playing for 30 points. Jennifer?
-Is it ABC?
-It's not. We're playing for 20 points.
It's not. We're playing for 10 points.
-Everybody In Love?
-By JLS? It's not, sadly. Maeve, tell everybody.
-Wonderwall by Oasis.
-Let's hear it!
# Cos maybe... # I told you nobody would know it!
Shame, but it was very entertaining. Sadly, at the end of the Music round
you don't get any points. Give them a round of applause.
-OK, Lynnette, I've got two cards left.
-I'll go for Blue.
Have a look at that.
That's OK. We'll play it so you can get the melody.
-# Don't go breaking my heart
-I couldn't if I tried... #
Ready, steady, play! Open the door.
SHE PLAYS THE TUNE
Not bad at all.
OK. Come on, Sabada.
TUNE HAS BEEN LOST
What a beautiful tune! OK, go on, Kerry.
NO TUNE AT ALL
All right. That was lovely.
OK, stop playing!
-Kuda, for 50 points, what do you reckon it is?
-Don't Stop Believing?
It's not, I'm afraid. For 40 points, Ray, come on.
-JLS, One Shot?
-Down with the kids!
-Unfortunately, it's wrong. OK, for 30 points...
-Is it Listen by Beyonce?
-No, open the door. Come on, Sabada.
-Kazoo playing of an angel. For 20 points.
-I have no clue.
-Was it Jerusalem?
-Oh, beautiful, but no.
-Not what we're looking for.
-I think it's...
"I couldn't if I tried". That bit.
That is the right song, but we need the title.
-Don't Leave Me or something?
-Aw, no! Aww.
-Elton John and Kiki Dee.
-Don't Go Breaking My Heart.
-That's the one! Let's listen.
-# Don't go breaking my heart... #
Shane, that was so close, mate.
That means you get no points, but give them a round of applause!
Right, so after three rounds...
OK, Fainche's team are ahead, but we still have the Copycats Challenge.
Who powered through the puzzle?
-And which team have a ticket to the Copycats ball room? Sam?
The wait is over. One team got 70 points in the Challenge.
And one team got 120 points.
Which means the team going through to the Copycats ball room is...
Well done, Fainche's team,
but you have to have two teams. Did Kuda's team have a good time?
-You've been fantastic. Give it up for Kuda's team!
All right, Fainche's team.
Now it's time to compete for the fabulous limited-edition
-springy thing that is the Copycats trophy!
You like that? You'll have to earn it, people!
Here is the ball room!
-Fainche, who is going to take part?
-Maeve, Mummy and me.
Let's take a look at what you have to do to win.
The ball room. Players are each assigned a colour.
They must catch 12 of their colour and deposit them in the cylinders.
OK, if you're ready. In three, two, one...
-BOTH: Blast the balls!
-It's Marian catching blue balls, Fainche yellow
and Maeve the red ones.
12 of each colour in the scoring cylinders, please. That's all.
We're catching these, not picking them up from the floor.
That is not allowed.
Come on. Look at the yellow ones. Doing very, very well.
Fainche, team captain. As soon as Fainche collects all her twelve,
she can help Marian and Maeve. That's how this game works.
Reds a little further behind, blue a lot of work to be done.
Come on, Marian! Quickly as you can.
Good advice from outside the ball room. We're there with yellow.
Just blue and red ones to catch.
Quickly as you can! Time's running out! Oh, no!
Ohhh, Fainche's team! So close. You did really well with yellows.
But, unfortunately, you were three short on the red or the blue.
-Which means you don't win.
-But you get Copycats t-shirts!
Give it up for Fainche's team, everybody!
-I can't believe it. It's only end of t'show!
-End of the show!
-We'll see you very, very soon, next time on Copycats.
