# All aboard the Story Train! #
Twinkle, can you...
Oh, where's she gone?
She's not there! Do you know where Twinkle is?
I know where she is!
She's in her house.
So she is! Thank you. Hello, Twinkle.
Twinkle, are you OK? What's the matter?
TWINKLE TWEETS SADLY
Oh, dear, she's not very happy, is she?
Let's see if we can find someone to help cheer her up.
Tell me if you spot anyone.
It's Milly and Lilly!
-And they're dancing!
-That will cheer Twinkle up!
-And the Vrooms too!
It is! Milly, Lilly, Loopy and the Vrooms.
They're all here! Let's go and see if they can cheer Twinkle up.
Twinkle, could you let everyone know that the train has stopped safely?
TWINKLE CHIRPS SADLY
Oh, dear. That's not like Twinkle at all.
-Hello, Driver Dan!
-Hiya, Driver Dan! Where's Twinkle?
-She's in her house, feeling sad.
Do you think you can cheer her up?
Yeah! I know what'll work. Watch this.
Wheeee! My loop-the-Loopy-loop! Wahey!
FLAMINGOS: Oh, Loopy!
Did you like that, Twinkle?
Why don't you go and join in, Twinkle? It might cheer you up.
Wahey! Woo! Come on, Twinkle!
Boing, boing, boing!
Oh, sorry, Twinkle!
Sorry, Twinkle. Maybe bouncing with Loopy isn't a good idea after all.
-Oh, no. Now Twinkle's even more sad.
We'll cheer her up with a dance!
Oh, yes, Milly. Let's dance!
Oh, great dancing, Milly and Lilly!
Ooh, that is lovely dancing! What do you think, Twinkle?
Why don't you dance too, Twinkle?
-Come on, Twinkle!
Yes, you can do it!
Oh, dear. That hasn't cheered Twinkle up either.
Dancing with Milly and Lilly makes her too dizzy.
CARS: Vroom! Vroom!
You think you can cheer her up, Vrooms?
Great idea! Give it a try.
Cool moves, Vrooms!
They're going fast, Driver Dan. I hope they don't bump each other!
Ha-ha! That was funny! Do that again, Twinkle!
That's brilliant, Twinkle!
Can you do a funny sound for me too, Twinkle?
Ha-ha-ha! Wahey! That's brilliant! Thanks, Twinkle!
And can you make noises for our dancing, too?
I didn't like it when you were sad, Twinkle.
It's so good to see you happy again.
Well, everyone feels sad sometimes, but playing together cheered you up.
-Having fun with your friends really is the best medicine.
Oh, you are feeling better, Twinkle!
Twinkle says it's time for Story Corner.
We're all hooked up, Twinkle. Are we ready to go?
Are you ready, too? Then let's go!
All aboard the Story Train!
We're going to have a story!
I think it'll be about having fun.
I think it'll be about making your friends laugh.
Or silly noises!
Who's ready for a story, then?
I was thinking, maybe...
Ah-ha! I know just the book!
Is everyone settled down, ready to listen?
And all of you? Sitting down, comfy, ready to listen?
KIDS: Ready, Dan!
This story is called Wouldn't It Be Fun?
It was written by Lou Kuenzler, and the pictures are by Seb Burnett.
One morning, the smallest dolphin was busy trying to balance
a coconut on the end of her nose.
As she ducked and bobbed in the water,
she watched the wild horses galloping up and down the sand.
"Wouldn't it be fun if I could gallop like that?"
she said, but the little dolphin had no legs to gallop with.
She had flippers for swimming.
Oh, I'd like to gallop like that too!
"Wouldn't it be fun if I could swim like a dolphin?"
said the smallest monkey, peeking out from the tree.
But everyone knew that little monkeys didn't swim.
They had arms for swinging.
"Wouldn't it be fun if I could swing like a monkey?"
squawked the smallest parrot, flitting through the sky.
But the little parrot had no arms to swing with.
She had wings for flying.
Oh, just like you, Twinkle!
"Wouldn't it be fun if I could fly like a parrot?"
said the smallest horse, racing across the sand.
But of course, he had no wings. He had swift hooves for galloping.
Yes, you can move fast too, Vrooms!
Now, where were we? Ah, yes.
The smallest creatures gathered at the brink of the beach,
where the waves lapped the sand,
and they said hello to one another for the very first time.
"A dolphin can never gallop on the shore," said the smallest dolphin.
"The parrots can't swing, the monkeys can't swim,
"and the horses can't fly,
"but wouldn't it be fun if we could all play together?"
"Yes!" agreed everyone. "But how?"
As she practised balancing her coconut,
the smallest dolphin thought hard.
"I know!" She cried. And she bounced the coconut - pop! -
off the end of her nose and onto the beach.
The smallest horse raced after it, and kicked it right into the trees,
where the smallest monkey caught it and threw it high into the sky
for the smallest parrot, who swooped down to the waves
and dropped it back onto the smallest dolphin's nose.
Oh, wow! Cool!
The smallest animals were delighted with their game,
and they kicked and splashed and swung and flew
until it was time to go home.
"Shall we play again tomorrow?" asked the smallest dolphin.
"Yes!" They cried together. "Wouldn't it be fun?!"
The end. Well, did you all enjoy the story?
It was great, Driver Dan!
I liked the way all the animals were good at different things.
And playing together made them much happier too!
Just like you, Twinkle!
-And now it's your turn.
Which bit did you like best?
Come on, it's time to show me the story!
-I'm good at flapping my wings!
-I can fly high in the trees!
We're swimming with the dolphins. Splish splash! Splish splash!
-Now I'm a horse! Neigh!
I'm galloping really fast!
Now we're being monkeys!
Oo-oo, ee-ee, oo-oo!
-We're passing and throwing the coconut.
-Got it! Your turn.
This is fun! Catch!
-To you! Hurray!
We're all playing together!
Well done, that was really good!
Thanks for showing me the story.
Oh, I'm not as good at noises as you are, Twinkle.
You are very good at making noises, Twinkle!
But you had a good try too, Loopy.
Glad you enjoyed the story, everyone, but now it's time to go.
-ALL: All aboard the story train!
It's time to go, but let's come back soon, because we all love stories!
ALL: Bye, Driver Dan!
My favourites are stories about animals.
I like stories about dolphins.
I like pirate stories!
Driver Dan notices that Twinkle is feeling a little bit sad. He thinks about what might cheer her up and then asks their Story Train friends to help.
Loopy bounces for her, Milly and Lily dance for her, the Vrooms race for her, and Twinkle starts to feel happier. Then Driver Dan realizes that the very best way to cheer up Twinkle is for all her Story Train friends to play together with her. Twinkle is soon well and truly cheered up.
