It's time for a story.

-I wonder if it will be about cooking?

What shall we read today?

Ha-ha-ha!

Ah-ha, I know just the book.

-Is everybody settled down and ready to listen?

-Yeah, I am.

Bip-bippity-bip.

And, you, sitting down and ready to listen?

-This story is called Four Busy Dragons,

written by Gareth Edwards, and the pictures are by Will Miller.

Long ago, in a land very far from here, there lived four dragons

who were always looking for something to keep them busy.

"What are you doing?" said the scaly dragon to the little dragon.

"Picking snorkberries. Would you like to help?"

Snorkberries, they sound funny!

"That's boring," said the scaly dragon.

"I'm going to race round a volcano and roar at crocodiles."

And he did. "Roar, roar, raa!"

Later, along came the spiky dragon. "What are you doing?" she asked.

"Rolling pastry," said the little dragon. "Would you like to help?"

"That's boring," said the spiky dragon.

"I'm going to stamp through the jungle with my big spiky feet."

And she did. Stamp, stamp, stamp!

Not long after, along came the knobbly dragon.

"What are you doing?" he asked.

"Putting snorkberries into pastry," said the little dragon,

"Would you like to help?"

"Oh, that's boring," said the knobbly dragon.

"I'm going to fly to the moon on my huge, leathery wings."

-And that's exactly what he did. Flap, flap, flap.

-Ha!

When they were halfway through chasing crocodiles,

stamping through the jungle and flying to the moon,

the scaly, spiky and knobbly dragons smelt an interesting smell.

I hope it's a delicious smell, like Sweetie's cookies.

It was a sweet smell, it was a juicy smell,

it was a crumbly and delicious smell.

Each of them snuffled their big noses

and followed that smell to where it came from.

And there, they found the little dragon.

"What are you doing?" the three big dragons asked.

"I'm eating a great big piece of snorkberry pie,"

said the little dragon, "but I expect you think that's boring?"

"Erm," said the scaly dragon.

"Ooh," said the spiky dragon.

"Well," said the knobbly dragon.

The little dragon looked at them.

Their tummies made a rumbling noise.

"Would you like to help," she said. "Yes, please,"

said the three big dragons, and that's exactly what they did.

"Yum, yum, yum!"

-The End. Did you enjoy that story?

-Oh, yes! Ha-ha!

-I'm roaring, just like the dragon. Roar!
