-It's my photo album.

-It has lots of photos of my friends in it.

Ha-ha! There's Bippity and the Counting Sheep.

And Loopy, and Sweetie.

But there aren't any photos of you, Tallulah.

That's because I'm always taking the photos.

Oh, poor Tallulah.

I don't mind. I love taking photos.

I think I left my camera on the bush before we got on the story train.

It's not broken, it just needs charging.

I wanted to take some photos of you. There weren't any in the album.

and I've printed out some of the photos for us to look at.

Aha, I know just the book.

Is everybody settled down and ready to listen?

And all of you, sitting down and ready to listen?

Ready, Driver Dan.

This story is called The Lost Slippers.

It was written by Aline Saade Saade

and the pictures are by Rasha al Hakim.

Rhianna was the youngest in her family

and she did not like it one bit.

Everyone else seemed to know how to do so many clever things.

Her sister Zana knew how to skip,

her father knew how to reach for delicious fruit,

and her mother knew how to make the bendiest shapes.

Rhianna wished she could do something clever like that.

"I know," she thought one day.

"If I hide Dad's slippers,

"I'll be the only one who will know where to find them."

And, giving an excited little giggle,

Rhianna grabbed her father's slippers

and pushed them behind the door.

Oh no, she shouldn't take them without asking.

Let's see what happens, shall we?

Later that day, Dad came in.

"My slippers have disappeared," he grumbled. "Anyone seen them?"

Everyone helped him look.

Under the sofa, in all the bedrooms, behind the cushions, under the rugs,

but the slippers were nowhere to be found.

They were about to give up when Rhianna jumped out joyfully.

"Look, here are the slippers!"

She pulled them out from behind the door.

"I was the only person who knew how to find them," she said proudly.

"Because I was the one who...erm...erm...ooh..."

Suddenly Rhianna stopped. She didn't feel quite so clever after all.

"Did you hide my slippers, Rhianna?" Asked Dad gently.

Rhianna nodded.

"I just wanted to show you that I could be clever like all of you."

Aw! Poor Rhianna, I think she's clever.

I'm sure her family think so too.

"But you are," said her sister. "You know how to paint."

"Look at the handles of my rope, they're so pretty."

"And you know how to spot the finest fruit for me to pick," said Dad.

"And you create the most delicious juices for me to drink

"when I've finished my exercises," said Mum.

"But those things are easy," laughed Rhianna.

"Not to the rest of us," said everyone.

"I'm sorry I caused so much trouble today," said Rhianna.

"Well," said Dad, giving her a hug,

"it's lucky that as well as all those other wonderful things

"you also know how to give the very best cuddles."

And everyone laughed.
