Twinkle can see some of our Story Train friends.

0:00:450:00:49

Can you see who they are?

0:00:490:00:51

-I can see Hip!

-And there's Hop, too.

0:00:510:00:56

You're right! It is Hip and Hop. Let's go and see them, shall we?

0:00:560:01:01

What do you want to do, Hip?

0:01:010:01:03

Oh, I don't know, Hop.

0:01:030:01:06

I wish I could go on a long journey.

0:01:060:01:09

That would be fun.

0:01:090:01:12

Hello, you two. What are you up to?

0:01:160:01:18

-Hi, Driver Dan.

-Hello.

0:01:180:01:20

We're not doing anything.

0:01:200:01:22

-How about coming on a journey on the Story Train?

-A journey?

0:01:220:01:27

That's what you just wished for, Hip!

0:01:270:01:30

I crunched my carrot and made a wish!

0:01:300:01:33

Wow! Maybe it's a special carrot.

0:01:330:01:36

Yeah, a wishing carrot!

0:01:360:01:40

I've never heard of one of those before,

0:01:400:01:43

but who knows, it just might be.

0:01:430:01:45

Come on, all aboard.

0:01:450:01:47

A wishing carrot!

0:01:470:01:51

Twinkle, are we ready to go? Are you ready, too?

0:01:510:01:55

Then let's go!

0:01:550:01:56

CHILDREN: All aboard the Story Train!

0:01:560:02:00

Who's Twinkle spotted now? Can you see who it is?

0:02:020:02:05

It's Tallulah!

0:02:050:02:07

Look, she's with Precious.

0:02:070:02:09

They're playing in the sand.

0:02:090:02:12

Let's stop and say hello.

0:02:120:02:14

Oh! I'm going to tell Precious and Tallulah

0:02:170:02:20

about my wishing carrot.

0:02:200:02:23

Do you think it really is a wishing carrot, Driver Dan?

0:02:230:02:27

Mm, who knows? But we can help it to become one.

0:02:270:02:31

Good idea!

0:02:310:02:33

Does it taste like a normal carrot?

0:02:330:02:37

Uh-huh. Shall I show you how it works?

0:02:370:02:40

Oh, yes, please.

0:02:400:02:41

Here goes. Oh, wishing carrot, hear Hip's wish.

0:02:410:02:46

I wish my journey would take me to a pirate island.

0:02:460:02:51

-Nothing's happened. It's not a wishing carrot after all.

-Oh, dear.

0:02:540:03:01

-What can we do?

-Any ideas, Hop?

-Ha, ha.

0:03:010:03:05

Yes! I think so.

0:03:050:03:07

Shh. Listen to this. HE WHISPERS

0:03:070:03:10

Great idea!

0:03:100:03:12

Oh, yes, we could do that.

0:03:120:03:15

Come on, Twinkle, let's go and find Hip.

0:03:150:03:18

We'll need sand.

0:03:180:03:21

Hip's going to love it! Ha, ha.

0:03:210:03:24

Have you found your pirate island yet?

0:03:260:03:28

No, the wishing carrot doesn't work.

0:03:280:03:32

Mm, I think I know what you need.

0:03:320:03:35

-All pirates need a parrot.

-Squawk!

-Ha, ha!

0:03:350:03:39

-Ha-ha! Twinkle, my own pirate parrot!

-Squawk!

0:03:390:03:44

Oh, where's my parrot going?

0:03:440:03:46

Maybe she knows the way to a pirate island.

0:03:460:03:49

-Oh! Wait for me!

-Good luck!

0:03:490:03:53

Oh, look, Hop's binoculars.

0:03:550:03:59

These would make great pirate binoculars.

0:03:590:04:03

There he is! Quick, hide!

0:04:050:04:08

Ha, ha, ha.

0:04:080:04:10

Ahar! Look!

0:04:130:04:16

Twinkle, it's a pirate island!

0:04:160:04:20

Come on!

0:04:200:04:22

Har!

0:04:240:04:27

We made it to Pirate Island!

0:04:270:04:30

ALL: Har, har!

0:04:300:04:33

Journey's end -

0:04:350:04:36

Pirate Island, with my pirate crew. Ahar!

0:04:360:04:42

Do you like it?

0:04:420:04:43

It's my wish come true! Thank you.

0:04:430:04:47

Ahar!

0:04:470:04:49

And now I've got another wish.

0:04:500:04:54

Oh, wishing carrot, hear Hip's wish.

0:04:540:04:57

I wish for a story for me and all my friends.

0:04:570:05:00

This wish is an easy one to help with, eh, Twinkle?

0:05:020:05:05

All aboard for Story Corner!

0:05:050:05:08

Yay! My wish came true!

0:05:080:05:12

Thanks, wishing carrot.

0:05:120:05:14

Story Corner, hoorah!

0:05:140:05:17

There we are, all hooked up.

0:05:170:05:19

Are we ready to go, Twinkle?

0:05:190:05:22

Chirp, chirp.

0:05:220:05:24

Are you ready, too? Then, let's go!

0:05:240:05:27

CHILDREN: All aboard the Story Train!

0:05:270:05:30

-We're going to have a story.

-I think it will be about pirates.

0:05:310:05:37

-Or hidden treasure.

-Or playing games with your friends.

0:05:370:05:42

Who's ready for a story then?

0:05:530:05:55

Ready already, Driver Dan.

0:05:550:05:58

Ah-ha! I know just the book.

0:05:580:06:01

-Is everybody settled down and ready to listen?

-Yes.

0:06:010:06:04

And all of you? Sitting down and ready to listen?

0:06:040:06:07

Ready, Driver Dan.

0:06:070:06:09

This story is called Marat The Camel.

0:06:090:06:13

It was written by Georges Estephan

0:06:130:06:15

and the pictures are by Hatem Fathy Aly.

0:06:150:06:17

The oasis creatures were playing in the noon day sun.

0:06:170:06:21

"What fun it is to splash in the spring!" giggled the little camels,

0:06:210:06:25

kicking up the fresh water with their hooves.

0:06:250:06:28

They were so busy playing, they didn't notice

0:06:280:06:32

a new little camel, Marat, had arrived at the oasis.

0:06:320:06:36

Marat trotted over. "Hello there," he called cheerfully.

0:06:360:06:40

"My name is..."

0:06:400:06:41

But he didn't get any further, for the other camels squealed

0:06:410:06:45

and galloped to the other side of the water.

0:06:450:06:48

-Oh, that wasn't very friendly.

-No, it wasn't Hip.

0:06:480:06:52

"How strange," thought Marat.

0:06:520:06:55

He spotted a jerboa.

0:06:550:06:57

"Hello there," he began again.

0:06:570:07:00

"My name is..." But before he could finish,

0:07:000:07:03

Jerboa had scampered off into her burrow, squeaking, "Help!"

0:07:030:07:07

The same thing happened when Marat went to talk to Ibex

0:07:070:07:11

and to Lizard.

0:07:110:07:13

Finally, he gave up with a sigh and settled himself in a lonely spot.

0:07:130:07:18

-Poor Marat.

-Yes, poor Marat.

0:07:180:07:22

"I'm afraid it's a question of humps,"

0:07:220:07:25

said Falcon, the wisest creature in the desert, who had been watching.

0:07:250:07:30

He perched close to Marat.

0:07:300:07:32

"In these parts, camels only have one hump

0:07:320:07:36

"and you, my friend, have two.

0:07:360:07:38

"I'm sorry to say the other camels are afraid."

0:07:380:07:42

Marat was surprised.

0:07:420:07:44

"I guess they don't know how great it is to have two humps," he said.

0:07:440:07:48

"Great?" asked Ibex from behind a tree.

0:07:480:07:52

"Really?" murmured Jerboa, peaking out of her burrow.

0:07:520:07:57

"Why, yes," cried Marat.

0:07:570:07:59

My extra hump keeps me lovely and warm on cold nights.

0:07:590:08:02

"Oooh," cooed Lizard, creeping closer.

0:08:020:08:06

"And I can store twice as much food as you,"

0:08:060:08:09

said Marat to the little camels who were trotting over.

0:08:090:08:13

"Wow!" they gasped.

0:08:130:08:15

"You see, in the country I come from,

0:08:150:08:18

"all camels have two humps," said Marat.

0:08:180:08:21

Yes, camels with two humps live in a country a long way away

0:08:210:08:25

from camels with one hump.

0:08:250:08:27

That's right, Precious, a long, long way away.

0:08:270:08:31

That afternoon, the oasis creatures listened to

0:08:310:08:34

Marat's enchanting stories about the far off land he came from

0:08:340:08:38

and about the many other beautiful places he had travelled to.

0:08:380:08:42

That night, they dreamt of the desert sun,

0:08:420:08:45

of far off lands and of their new friend, Marat,

0:08:450:08:50

the two-humped camel.

0:08:500:08:53

-The end. Did you enjoy the story?

-Oh, yes!

0:08:530:08:57

Would you like to use the carrot to wish for another hump, Precious?

0:08:570:09:02

No, thanks. I'd rather wish for a snack.

0:09:020:09:06

Ha, ha, ha!

0:09:070:09:09

Now it's your turn. Which bit did you like best?

0:09:090:09:13

Come on, it's time to show me the story.

0:09:130:09:16

Look, it's Marat.

0:09:160:09:18

He's not like the others.

0:09:180:09:20

He's a camel with two humps.

0:09:200:09:23

-Come on, let's splash.

-Everyone's here, come on in.

0:09:230:09:26

We're splashing and sploshing!

0:09:260:09:28

-Jump like Jerboa.

-I'm a jerboa, too.

0:09:280:09:33

I'm hiding, hello!

0:09:330:09:34

-Look, Lizard is up the tree.

-Hello, Lizard.

0:09:360:09:40

I'm flying like the falcon.

0:09:400:09:42

Me, too. Flappity flap!

0:09:420:09:44

We're moving like Marat.

0:09:440:09:47

Do a camel walk!

0:09:470:09:50

Time for bed.

0:09:500:09:52

ALL: Night-night.

0:09:520:09:54

I loved all the different animals. Thanks for showing me the story.

0:09:560:10:01

Marat went on a long journey to the land with one-humped camels.

0:10:010:10:05

Hip went on a journey, too, all the way to Pirate Island.

0:10:050:10:10

Thank you, everyone, for making my wish come true.

0:10:100:10:14

Chirp, chirp, chirp.

0:10:140:10:15

I'm glad you enjoyed the story, but our journey is not over yet.

0:10:150:10:19

Now it's time to go. All aboard!

0:10:190:10:22

CHILDREN: All aboard the Story Train! All aboard!

0:10:220:10:26

Bye, everyone. It's time to go.

0:10:300:10:33
