We're going to have a story. I hope it's about elephants.

-Maybe a robot story.

-Yeah!

So, who's ready for a story?

Yes, please!

Ah-ha! I know just the book.

Is everyone settled down and ready to listen?

-I'm ready, Driver Dan.

-We're ready.

-And all of YOU? Sitting down and ready to listen?

-Ready, Driver Dan.

This story is called 'Grimble and the Lost Smile.'

It was written by Emma Booth, and the pictures are by Hannah Cumming.

Grimble liked to smile.

He was the smiliest floop in all of Floopton.

He would beam at the sun, and grin at the Grumpies,

and even smirk at the Smoot.

But then one day, after tripping over a swivel rock,

his smile went missing. So Grimble decided to track it down.

In the garden, mum was tugging at a wiggly, wriggle shake vine.

"Could you help me?" she asked Grimble.

They pulled and pulled until pop! Out it plopped.

Mum was happy, but no, she hadn't seen Grimble's smile.

In the study, Grandpa was bottling floopy sounds,

to keep the Ickle Jitters off his strawberries.

"Could you help me?" wheezed Grandpa, "I've got a terrible cough."

So they took a deep breath and...

Floopy loop!

Grandpa quickly screwed the lid on.

Grandpa was happy, but no, he hadn't seen Grimble's smile.

Upstairs, Grantle was chasing his pet slime.

"Grimble, help!" he yelled.

"I've got to get Ooze back in his cage."

So they raced and chased, until at last they captured Ooze.

Grantle was happy, but no, he hadn't seen Grimble's smile.

In the kitchen, dad was lighting the cooker.

"Can you help me with Smokey? He's in a bad mood

"and won't breath any flames."

So Grimble jigged his silliest floopy dance

until Smokey burst out laughing. Whoosh!

Dad was happy, but Grimble wasn't. No-one had seen his smile.

It must be gone for good.

Grimble looked at dad cheerfully cooking gloop soup.

And mum admiring her tidy garden.

And Grandpa chuckling as the Ickle Jitters flew off his strawberries.

They all smiled at Grimble.

"Grimble, you're a star."

Grimble blushed, and his tummy did a happy bounce inside.

Just then, Grantle wandered out.

"Grimble, you found your smile!" he said. "No, I didn't," said Grimble.

"But there it is on your face."

Grimble grinned from ear to ear.

His smile had come back all by itself.

He decided to wear it all the time.

That way, his smile would never get lost again.

The end. That was great fun, wasn't it?
