All aboard the Story Train!

0:00:420:00:45

Twinkle, have you spotted someone? I can't see who it is. Can you?

0:00:470:00:51

Look. It's Hip. He's building with blocks.

0:00:560:00:58

And where there's a Hip, there's always a Hop.

0:00:580:01:02

Yes, you're right. It's Hip and Hop. Let's go and say hello.

0:01:020:01:07

Hello, Hip and Hop. Wow! That is a very tall tower!

0:01:160:01:20

-Thanks, Driver Dan.

-Yes, it's brilliant!

0:01:200:01:24

I'm going to build a tower too, a really, really tall one.

0:01:240:01:29

I'm going to be the best tower builder.

0:01:320:01:34

-Maybe you should go a bit slower, Hop.

-It's OK. I can do it.

0:01:360:01:40

It's going to be the best tower ever.

0:01:400:01:44

Oh, no! I knocked over your tower too, Hip. I'm sorry.

0:01:440:01:49

It's OK, Hop.

0:01:490:01:50

-But I thought I would be the best tower builder.

-Never mind, Hop.

0:01:500:01:55

-You can't always be the best.

-Let me help you, Hip.

0:01:550:01:59

Oh, I must be the best at something.

0:02:010:02:03

I know. Why don't we try colouring in?

0:02:030:02:07

Great idea! I'll get some colouring paper.

0:02:070:02:10

Wow! Look at that, Twinkle. A picture of you and me.

0:02:150:02:18

Ready, steady, colour!

0:02:200:02:23

Maybe you should go slower, Hop?

0:02:320:02:36

Nearly there! Ha-ha-ha! Finished!

0:02:360:02:39

-Yes! I finished!

-Can we see?

-I'm sure it's the best.

-Oh.

0:02:390:02:45

-Well, erm...

-I've finished too.

0:02:450:02:48

Oh. That's much better than mine.

0:02:490:02:51

I'm not the best at anything.

0:02:510:02:54

I'm sure you are, Hop. You just haven't found it yet.

0:02:540:02:57

Oh, where's my purple crayon?

0:02:570:03:01

Oh, I'll help you find it, Hip.

0:03:010:03:03

-Here it is.

-Ha-ha! Thanks, Hop!

0:03:050:03:09

Why don't we go on the Story Train? Maybe we can find something

0:03:090:03:13

-you're the best at, Hop.

-Yes, please, Driver Dan.

-Good idea!

0:03:130:03:18

Twinkle, are we all hooked up and ready to go?

0:03:180:03:20

TWINKLE CHEEPS

0:03:200:03:22

Are you ready too?

0:03:240:03:26

-Then, let's go!

-All aboard the Story Train!

0:03:260:03:29

-LAUGHTER

-Can you hear a noise?

0:03:340:03:36

-Do you know what it is?

-I can hear giggling.

0:03:360:03:39

-It sounds like Sweetie.

-I can hear a bell.

0:03:390:03:43

That sounds like Precious.

0:03:430:03:45

Look, it's Sweetie and she's stirring something.

0:03:490:03:53

And there's Precious.

0:03:530:03:55

You're right. It's Sweetie and Precious.

0:03:550:03:58

Let's go and see what they're doing.

0:03:580:04:01

-Hello, Sweetie. Hi, Precious. You two look busy.

-Hello, everyone.

0:04:060:04:12

-Yes, we're making a yummy cake.

-But cake mixing can be hard work.

0:04:120:04:19

-Would anyone else like a turn?

-Oh, yes, please!

0:04:190:04:23

-Lovely mixing, Hip.

-Oh, may I have a turn?

0:04:270:04:32

-Maybe I'm best at that.

-Of course. Here you go.

0:04:320:04:36

LAUGHTER

0:04:390:04:42

-Oh, sorry.

-Oops!

0:04:420:04:45

-There's not much mixture left to make a cake.

-I'm sorry.

0:04:450:04:50

It's OK. You were only trying to help.

0:04:500:04:53

-We can always make more cake mix.

-Oh! I'm not the best at anything.

0:04:530:05:00

-Don't worry. We will find what you're best at, Hop.

-Aw! Poor Hop!

0:05:000:05:05

-Ouch!

-Oh, no! Are you all right? It's OK, Hip. I'll look after you.

0:05:070:05:12

-That's it, Hop. I know what you're best at.

-Really?

0:05:120:05:17

You helped Hip tidy up the building blocks, you found his crayon

0:05:170:05:20

and you gave him a hug to make him feel better.

0:05:200:05:24

Yes! Driver Dan's right!

0:05:240:05:27

You ARE the best - the best sister and my best friend!

0:05:270:05:31

Am I? Oh! Yes!

0:05:310:05:35

I can help you make more cake mix later, without spilling it this time!

0:05:360:05:41

Ha-ha! That's what best friends are for.

0:05:410:05:44

Come on, everyone. It's time for Story Corner.

0:05:440:05:47

ALL: Yay!

0:05:470:05:49

We're all hooked up. Twinkle, are we ready to go?

0:05:500:05:53

TWINKLE CHEEPS

0:05:530:05:54

-Are you ready, too?

-Yes!

0:05:560:05:59

Then let's go! All aboard the Story Train!

0:05:590:06:03

-All aboard!

-We're going to have a story.

0:06:030:06:06

-I wonder if it's about building blocks.

-Or about making cakes.

-Yes!

0:06:060:06:12

-Yay!

-Yay!

0:06:230:06:26

-Now, then. I wonder what story we'll read today.

-Yes.

0:06:260:06:32

-The best book ever, please, Driver Dan.

-Ha-ha-ha!

0:06:320:06:36

Aha! I know just the book.

0:06:360:06:39

-Is everybody settled down and ready to listen?

-Ooh, yes! Ho-ho!

0:06:390:06:43

-Ready.

-Yes!

-And all of you? Sitting down comfy and ready to listen?

0:06:430:06:48

-Yes, Dan. I'm ready!

-Story Time!

0:06:480:06:51

This story is called Doug, the Cleverest Dog in the World.

0:06:510:06:56

It was written by Diane and Christian Fox

0:06:560:06:58

and the pictures are by Christian Fox.

0:06:580:07:01

I have a dog. His name is Doug.

0:07:010:07:04

And Doug is the cleverest dog in the world.

0:07:040:07:08

Doug is so clever, he can do really long tricky sums.

0:07:080:07:12

He likes reading books with very big words in them.

0:07:120:07:15

And he's good at computer games. He's always doing things like that.

0:07:150:07:19

-Wow! A dog who's good at computer games! Amazing!

-Ha-ha!

0:07:190:07:26

But most of all, Doug likes me. And his dish

0:07:260:07:30

and his basket and his squeaky toy.

0:07:300:07:35

One day, a woman with a camera arrived.

0:07:350:07:37

She said, "Doug, you're the cleverest dog I've ever seen.

0:07:370:07:41

"I'm going to put your picture on the cover of every magazine."

0:07:410:07:45

And she did. And soon a man arrived, who said,

0:07:450:07:48

"Doug, I saw your picture in a magazine.

0:07:480:07:51

"I'm going to make you a film star."

0:07:510:07:53

And he did. Not long after, the Queen of the World arrived.

0:07:530:07:58

She said, "Doug, I've seen all your films and I love you.

0:07:580:08:03

"I'm going to take you to my royal palace to be my royal dog."

0:08:030:08:07

So Doug became the Royal Dog of the World.

0:08:070:08:10

And he and the Queen, the woman with the camera

0:08:100:08:13

and the man who made films

0:08:130:08:15

all lived in a huge castle with soldiers and flags.

0:08:150:08:18

They travelled in very long cars, had their own aeroplane

0:08:180:08:22

and wore sunglasses all the time.

0:08:220:08:24

Doug ate from a golden dish.

0:08:240:08:26

He slept in a golden basket and he had a golden squeaky toy.

0:08:260:08:30

But one day, Doug started to feel sad.

0:08:300:08:34

-I wonder why he's sad.

-We'll see.

0:08:340:08:37

So he told everyone he was going home.

0:08:370:08:41

The Queen of the World went off in a huff, the man who made films

0:08:410:08:45

stamped his feet and the woman with the camera burst into tears.

0:08:450:08:49

But Doug came home to me.

0:08:490:08:52

And his old dish. And his old basket. And his old squeaky toy.

0:08:520:08:57

Because he's MY dog. He's always doing things like that.

0:08:570:09:01

-The end. Well, did you enjoy that story?

-Oh, yes.

0:09:020:09:07

They gave the dog lots of things, but all he wanted was his friend.

0:09:070:09:12

That's because a best friend is the best thing in the world.

0:09:120:09:16

-Isn't that right, Hop?

-Yes.

0:09:160:09:19

Now it's your turn. Which bit did you like best?

0:09:190:09:22

Come on, it's time to show me the story.

0:09:220:09:26

We're juggling just like Doug.

0:09:260:09:28

Wow! Good juggling!

0:09:280:09:30

-I'm balancing like Doug.

-This is really wobbly.

0:09:300:09:35

-Click, click! Snap, snap!

-We're taking photos!

0:09:350:09:39

-It's Doug. He's really famous now!

-Yeah!

0:09:390:09:43

-Hello, Queen of the World.

-Your Majesty.

0:09:430:09:48

-Left, right, left, right.

-We're marching just like soldiers.

0:09:480:09:52

Hello!

0:09:520:09:53

We're in a really big car with the Queen. Hello, everyone!

0:09:530:09:58

I'm in the helicopter. Neee-yaw!

0:09:580:10:01

-Doug's come home.

-I'm being just like Doug.

0:10:010:10:05

Thanks for showing me the story, everyone. I really enjoyed that.

0:10:050:10:09

I liked it when Doug went back to his friend at the end.

0:10:090:10:12

-I like being with my best friend too.

-And me!

0:10:120:10:16

-Yippee!

-Woo-hoo!

0:10:160:10:18

And I like driving all my best friends on the Story Train.

0:10:190:10:24

-Come on, everyone. It's time to go. All aboard!

-ALL: Hurray!

0:10:240:10:28

Bye, everyone! It's time to go.

0:10:310:10:34

But let's come back soon because we all love stories.

0:10:340:10:38

Bye, Driver Dan. Bye!

0:10:380:10:40

-I like stories about aeroplanes.

-I like stories about dogs.

0:10:480:10:53

-I love stories about cowboys.

-I love stories about kangaroos.

0:10:530:10:57

Boing-boing!
