Cos today we are going to be focusing on listening.

So where on the football pitch and to whom do we need to listen?

-The coach.

You need to make sure you're listening everywhere

when you're on AND off of the football pitch.

There are three things we need to remember when we're listening.

We need to focus, we need to hear

and we need to think. Do you want to do it with me?

-Focus, hear and think.

Practice time.

To practice listening, we're going to play a listening game.

You're going to hear a sound.

When you know what it is, you're going to turn

and run to the picture that makes that sound. Shall we have a go?

-Yes.

To listen well, you need to focus,

hear the sound and think what it is.

You need to point your football at where you think I'm clapping

-so we can see how good you are at listening. Are we ready?

-The wee chap has a poorly paw, so he's had to go to the doctor.

Cos I can't see the ball with this healing collar on.

But football is a game for everyone.

Just because you can't see the ball doesn't mean you can't play.

Oh, don't be daft. It's just my scare-flea.

It was supposed to scare those greedy crows away

but your noisy howling did a much better job.

If only your scare-flea could be as noisy as me.

HE GASPS Good thinking.

That's the last of the junk from my tool shed.

These noisy, old things have given me an idea to help you too.

If you can't see the ball, maybe we can make a ball that you can hear.

I've been practising my listening skills. If I really listen well,

So, I split you up into two teams. We've got the Horns.

-Horns, give me your best honk, honk, honk!

And we've got the Bells. Give me your best ding-aling-aling.

-Fantastic. Let's take a look

with Geraldine, Rex, and Rozzie to find out how to play.

To play this game, you'll need to use your best listening skills.

Stand with your backs to the obstacle course.

When the whistle blows, the first team-mate turns,

runs to the tunnel and crawls through it.

At the end of the tunnel, Horns, you must honk the horn

and, Bells, you must bring your bell.

Then you run through the hoops.

At the end of the hoops, you honk the horn and ring the bell again.

Finally, you run to the footballs, take a shot at goal

and then hold your horn or ring your bell for the third time.

Your team-mate must wait

till they've heard the third horn or bell before they start.

The winners are the team to get all three team-mates to the end first.

-Hooray!

-Yahoo!

They're flying through those tunnels.

-Don't forget to ring those bells.
