Can you tell what I'm pretending to be?

I'm small

and furry,

I have a big, bushy tail

and my favourite food is nuts!

Ha-ha! I'm a squirrel!

Shall we squiggle our own squirrel?

What sort of line could we use?

Let's have a look!

It's a curved line!

Have you got your Squiggle Pads

and Squiggle Sticks ready?

Now it's time to get squiggling!

We'll start with one of the squirrel's ears,

we'll need a curved line for that.

I LOVE curved lines.

Squiggle one with me.

Curve up...

and over.

What's yours like?

Curve up...

Now for the top of the squirrel's head.

And another curved ear!

Keep going all the way around

until we get back to the beginning.

Let's give him two little curves inside his ears -

one...

two.

Then, two eyes -

one...

two.

And a nose.

We can use straight lines to squiggle some big teeth -

across, down, across and up!

Then, one straight line down from his nose.

Let's squiggle the squirrel's body -

down...

across...

and up.

And another curved line for his tummy.

Two arms -

one...

two.

And two little feet -

one...

two!

We can use our curved line to make his big, bushy tail -

curve up...

and round,

and curve all the way around.

And there's our squirrel!

Things that might give us an idea

of where your nuts are and who moved them?

Yes! I've always wanted to be a detective.

Look! I've even got a notebook to write the clues in.

Being detectives sounds like fun, doesn't it?

Let's start with where you hid the nuts, Samir.

I put them in a hole, under a big tree in the woods where I live.

Shall we squiggle the tree in Samir's wood?

We can use our curved line again.

Let's get squiggling!

We'll start with the trunk of the tree.

Ready? Curve down one side.

And down the other side.

Now we'll squiggle a door.

Curve up

and over,

with a straight line across the bottom.

Two more lines down.

One, two.

And a little round handle.

And now for some windows.

Let's squiggle the other window.

All we need now are some branches with leaves.

Why don't you colour yours in,

whilst I squiggle the rest of the wood?

See? The hole is empty!

Just like my tummy.

I've got to find my nuts!

I think we should start looking for clues here.

Can you spot any clues to tell us where Samir's nuts are?

A-ha! Look at this! Feathers.

Maybe it was someone with feathers who moved your nuts.

Yes! This feather is our first clue!

Let's follow the feathers to see where they lead.

Maybe your nuts will be at the end.

I hope so!

So, whoever moved my nuts must have feathers,

and feet shaped like this.

Let's follow the footprints!

Maybe it was whoever moved your nuts.

So, it's someone with feathers,

who makes footprints like this and a noise like...

The noise came from that island.

But how will we get over the water?

And now they are safely on the other side.
