Hello, everyone! Squiglet here.

Brrr! Ooh...

WIND BLOWS

It's snowing outside. I love the snow but it's really cold.

I know an animal that lives in the snow but it doesn't get cold

because it has thick, white fur to keep it warm.

A polar bear!

Shall we squiggle our own polar bear?

What sort of line could we use? Let's have a look.

It's a straight line.

Now it's time to get squiggling!

We'll start with the top of the polar bear's head.

We can use a straight line. Straight lines are great!

Now a curved line for the bottom of his head.

Curve down...and up.

Let's give him a face. Two eyes...

One, two.

A big curved line for his nose...

and a little one for his mouth.

And two little ears.

Let's squiggle our polar bear's body.

and a curved line for his tummy.

Great!

He needs two arms with claws on.

And some feet with claws.

Hello! I'm Pip the polar bear.

It's lovely and cold today.

Hello, Pip. I'm Squiglet. Brrr! And yes, it's very cold!

What have you been doing in the snow?

I'm an explorer and I was about to climb a mountain

when I found some gigantic footprints at the bottom.

-How exciting.

-It is, isn't it?

I really want to find whoever made those footprints,

so we can make friends!

I love making new friends!

-Perhaps I can help.

-That would be wonderful!

Maybe we should start where you found the big footprints.

Good idea. They were at the bottom of a big mountain.

Shall we squiggle the mountain?

Let's get squiggling!

Let's start with the sides of the mountain.

We'll need more straight lines for that.

Ready?

Up...up... Right up to the top.

Now all the way down the other side.

Then another straight line to join them up.

Let's use a bumpy line to put some snow on the top of the mountain.

Brrr!

That looks cold.

Why don't you colour your mountain in while I squiggle some more snow?

Look, Squiglet!

Isn't this footprint big?

Wow!

Yes, it really is big!

-I wonder who could have made a footprint like that?

I don't know but its feet must be very big.

So I've named him Bigfoot.

But how are we going to find him and make friends?

Maybe we should climb up the mountain.

He must be up there somewhere.

Look! There are signs to show the way up.

OK. With footprints that big, Bigfoot's probably big all over

-so it should be easy to spot him.

-Yes! Let's go, come on.

I've looked all over this mountain but I can't see Bigfoot anywhere.

Where can he be?

I think we should keep following the signs, don't you?

-Maybe Bigfoot lives at the very top of the mountain.

-Yes! Good idea.

I can't wait to meet him.

Brrr! Ooh, that wind is cold.

Now it's snowing again too.

And it's snowing very hard.

Oh, dear. I'm a bit cold as well, now.

Even my thick fur can't keep me warm in snow this heavy.

Oh-oh! It's another snowy blizzard.

I'd find some shelter if I were you, and quick! Bye.

We need somewhere top shelter and keep us warm.

How about an igloo? A house made from big blocks of ice.

Good thinking, Squiglet!

-But there aren't any igloos up here.

-No problem! We can squiggle you one.

We can use our straight line again for the bottom of the igloo.

Now we need a big curved line

to go over the top.

Curve all the way over.

We need two more curved lines for the door.

..two.

Let's fill in the blocks of ice with some straight lines.

I'm colouring my igloo in icy blue. What colour are you going

to make yours?

One igloo.

Quick, Pip! Come inside and keep warm.

Ooh, that's better.

Yes. But I really want to find Bigfoot and make friends.

I hope the snow stops soon

so we can get to the top of the mountain and find him.

Hooray! It stopped.

But now it's white and snowy everywhere.

And the signs are all buried in the snow. How will we find our way

to the top of the mountain without them?

Well, we could...

THUMP! THUMP!

Oh! Listen to those footsteps.

They're so loud.

It must be Bigfoot!

Oh. Do you think he wants us to follow him?

Yes! Come on.

Mmmm... Hot chocolate!

I'd always be able to see it and find my way,

even if the signs got covered in the heaviest snow.

of a mountain, but you can squiggle anything you like.

I'm going to colour my flag orange and purple.

What colour are you going to make yours?
