It's a bit like how we look at babies

I'm just going to put this probe on your chest to move it around.

Look! That's your heart.

Oh, it's moving.

That's right. Your heart works like a pump

sending blood around your body.

Oh. Is that what I can feel when I've been running very fast?

Yes, because when you run or do exercise,

your heart has to work faster.

Is it supposed to do that?

Yes, Deep.

You have valves inside your heart that open and close like flaps.

Ha-ha. Like our cat flap!

A bit like a catflap, Deep, only much smaller.

Too small for your cat.

And these flaps only open one way to let your blood flow through.

I just need to look a bit more closely here and

-take a few more measurements.
