Well, guys, the competition is so tight right now.

You've all had the chance of being in a sing-off and we've had five

up for grabs, which can be won by the singers and their mums

in a series of challenges.

But as usual, the whole group will first be learning a song

with our musical director, David Tench.

so, you know, you never know who's going to get into the sing-off.

My biggest challenge at the minute

is to familiarise myself with the song cos I really don't know it.

I messed that up badly.

12-year-old Luka from Birmingham is the youngest member of the group.

I have a song book where I keep all my songs and all my song ideas.

I've been writing for about three years.

And he's not afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve.

You need to be able to put your emotions into your lyrics.

# I should know, I should know... #

You can't be afraid to really write how you feel.

He's already been in three sing-offs,

but struggled with the lyrics in the last one.

I can't do this!

But so far, he has always found a way to put his own spin on a song.

I've decided I want to do something different.

-He's doing acting and bringing out the lyrics. Love it!

Because Luka is not familiar with the song,

it made him come up with new ways of doing it.

And it was really emotional.

Working in the music industry may be an exciting job,

but is it really as glamorous as it looks?

Hi, I'm Craig David and you're watching Got What It Takes.

Although working in music looks like it might be all

glitz and glamour, there is a lot of hard work involved.

It's definitely not all glamour, I think you have to

work hard at everything you do and work ethic is really important.

You get to shoot videos, you get to perform in front of thousands

of people and it's incredible.

But with that also comes a lot of struggle.

Two end of show sing-off spots are up for grabs,

but there can only be one in a music industry challenge

and it's time to find out exactly what that will be.

We've got a message from Lauren.

You may have started off singing in your bedroom,

but one day you could be starring in your very own music video

or putting on a multi-million pound live show.

If this happens, you'll need to work with a creative director

and in today's challenge, you get the chance to work

with one of the best in the business,

who is known for working on stuff like this.

Judging today's challenge is creative director to the stars

Dan Shipton.

Working with some of the biggest names in entertainment,

he knows a thing or two about putting on an amazing show,

from world tours to pop videos,

and today, he's going to put our gang through their paces.

The group's industry challenge this week is to make a pop video.

Guys, my name's Dan Shipton, I am a creative director.

I work with lots of famous people,

Ellie Goulding, Jess Glynne, Taylor Swift, Kanye, Olly Murs...

Any major artist these days has a creative director,

so that's where I come in and hopefully that's where I can

work with you guys today, to make you guys do something extra special.

What was it like directing big stars?

The big thing that you realise when you work with any pop star

is that everything is about image.

And actually, when you get to know them, they are normal people,

like you and I, so ultimately it's a big collaboration

between me and the artist.

It was really surreal meeting Dan cos he's worked with

so many famous people that I looked up to myself.

I've learned a lot more about what it's actually like to be in

the music industry and what's behind the scenes.

Guys, your challenge today is to create a music video with me.

In today's challenge,

the singers will be split into two groups to film a music video.

They will each have to lip-synch to a famous pop song,

whilst following Dan's choreographed routine

and they only get one take to record it.

Before filming, there is some serious rehearsing to do.

So, guys, are you ready to do some training?

-ALL:

-Yeah.

-Let's get started.

First, they need to practise lip-synching the song

they'll perform in the video.

When you're doing your lip-synch,

the important thing is to remember it's all about your face,

it's all about selling your characters.

Group 1 have got Justin Timberlake's Can't Stop The Feeling.

Group 2 have been given Lush Life by Zara Larsson.

Next, it's a lesson in how to work with cameras.

When you're looking down this lens, look in the middle.

Don't let your eyes wander. So, don't look like a rabbit

in the headlights, yeah? Really sell it, yeah?

One of the key things about taking direction is learning loads

of new things but then actually making it look effortless.

Finally, the groups must get to grips with performing Dan's

tricky routine with confidence...

Don't worry about the lyrics, Luka, just enjoy it!

Embarrassing. It felt like dancing on your own in a party,

which is awkward.

Now, they have to perform the videos for real in front of Dan.

I'm just going to try and not get distracted, I'm going to try

and focus a little bit more because I find it so awkward.

Dan will be judging them on...

the quality of their lip-syncing, how well they work with the cameras,

and their confidence in the choreography.

So, for this, I need you to focus and really think about it,

I want this to be pretty much perfect.

The key to it is, don't forget,

really make sure that you've got your eye connection down the camera,

don't forget to smile, don't forget to really enjoy yourselves.

This challenge is one of my best challenges

because it was quite exciting and, you know, active.

Do you know, being comfortable around cameras,

and just getting more used to it,

it was a good taste in what we'd go through in the music industry.

In the beginning I wasn't confident and I was quite shy and all that

but then I feel I got a bit better.

I think it gave us a real insight into what it would be like

to film our own music video.

I think this was my favourite because it's got, like, the lighting

and the confetti, it just makes you feel like an actual pop star.

Yeah, we just came out and that was pretty good.

Yeah, it was so much fun.

It went really well, I really enjoyed the process,

I was really nervous before going on but when I saw the lights

and all the smoke and everything, it made me feel more comfortable.

Yeah, I think it went really well, I think who I was paired with,

we just bounced off each other really well.

Fingers crossed, Dan liked it.

You all did so, so well, even though it was really,

really tough, there were two people that stood out.

They took direction really well, they really related to the camera

and they made that performance their own.

It was a really tough choice for me.

From the Justin Timberlake group, my favourite performance was from...

I can't believe I'm in my fourth sing-off,

I won today's industry challenge, it's so awesome.

Luka stole the show for me because he absolutely nailed it with

the character. His eyes just were in that space

and I absolutely loved watching it.

And from the Zara Larsson group, my favourite performance was from...

I'm very happy that I won the challenge because I really

like this song and I'm really excited to sing it.

Kyra stood out for me today because she had so much energy,

from the moment she stepped on camera right through

to the very end and that's what I need from every performer.

Over the years the music industry has seen its fair share of

pop star rivalries. Oasis and Blur, Britney and Christina

and Kanye and Taylor Swift.

But today's challenge could see an even fiercer head-to-head

in a challenge we call battle for the top spot.

Can I just go home now?

The mums' sixth challenge, battle for the top spot,

is a daredevil gravity-defying test of nerves and balance.

Ohhh, I don't like the look of this.

Providing the mums with some much-needed encouragement is

games guru, Kevin Adams.

Today I've got a challenge for the mums that will test their speed,

balance and determination.

The question is, which one will win the battle for the top spot?

To get to that top spot,

the mums have to climb 14 steps without falling off.

You're having a laugh.

They need to be brave and fast as the two mums who finish in

the quickest time will go head-to-head in a final knockout.

I didn't do any soft play like this with my kids when they were little.

And once you get to the top, the only way down is to jump.

With Luka and Kyra's mum sitting this one out,

-the stakes are high for the others.

Jorja, Ellie, Kellimarie and Evan could all take the lead

if their mums win this challenge.

Kyra is a 13-year-old singer from East London who's passionate

about performing.

The thing that I love about performing is that I just feel

calm, relaxed and I feel like I'm in a world of my own.

Her mum is behind her all the way.

When it comes to music, Kyra is very focused.

She likes everything to be in place, she's very passionate.

She won her only sing-off with a soulful rendition of

Imagine Dragons' Radioactive.

Each sing-off, the mums are the judges and will vote

to decide which performer is the winner.

The person with the most sing-off wins after eight episodes

will automatically qualify for the grand final.

It was heart-wrenching to see you on stage

struggling the way you did and I felt for you.

When a singer invests so much of themselves in the song,

the audience can feel that.

He gave such an emotional performance and sometimes

that is what draws people in.

So we only have two sing-offs left.

I think it's really exciting because

there's still everything to play for.
