ALL: Hi, Katy!

0:01:080:01:11

Hi! Lovely to see you all. Come and sit on my bench. That's it.

0:01:110:01:15

Hello. Come and sit. I can help you up.

0:01:150:01:19

OK, so, Callum.

0:01:190:01:21

-Are these all of your friends?

-Yes.

-What's your name?

-Ruby.

0:01:210:01:27

Ruby, great to meet you. What's your name?

0:01:270:01:30

-Ede!

0:01:300:01:32

-What's your name?

-Jacob.

-Jacob, good to meet you.

0:01:320:01:36

-Are you all excited about cooking?

-ALL: Yes!

-I can't wait.

0:01:360:01:39

And what will we do this afternoon?

0:01:390:01:41

We're going to have a picnic and play lots of games.

0:01:410:01:44

That is going to be lovely.

0:01:440:01:46

-But we're going to need lots of energy, aren't we?

-ALL: Yes!

0:01:460:01:51

So I'll have a look in Horace

0:01:510:01:53

-and see what ingredients we can take with us.

-ALL: Yes.

0:01:530:01:57

I'll have a look. Hold on!

0:01:570:01:59

Hey, team, look at these amazing ingredients I found.

0:02:030:02:07

-Do you know what this is?

-ALL: Cheese!

0:02:070:02:09

-Everyone do a big cheesy smile!

-EDE: Cheeeeese!

0:02:090:02:13

Oh, my goodness! Amazing! And how about this?

0:02:130:02:16

-What is this here?

-Ham and... salami.

-Ham and salami.

0:02:160:02:21

Shall we look in my cookery book for a recipe?

0:02:210:02:24

-ALL: Yes!

-Come on then, guys. Let's go.

0:02:240:02:27

What's in my cookbook? Let's have a look.

0:02:290:02:32

What tasty treat are we going to cook?

0:02:320:02:36

-SHE GASPS

-Wow! Look at that, everyone.

0:02:370:02:40

We're making a picnic loaf today. Does it look amazing or what?!

0:02:400:02:45

-Yes!

-It looks great, doesn't it?

0:02:450:02:47

But before we start cooking, what do we have to do first?

0:02:490:02:52

ALL: Wash our hands!

0:02:520:02:54

That's right - wash our hands!

0:02:540:02:56

Come on, everyone, let's go.

0:02:560:02:58

# Roll up your sleeves Give your hands a wash

0:03:030:03:06

# With slippy-dippy soap splish-splash-splosh

0:03:060:03:10

# Have you done your hands? Washed and dried?

0:03:100:03:13

# Sleeves rolled up, apron tied

0:03:130:03:15

# What can you do? I can cook! #

0:03:150:03:19

We've washed our hands so let's start!

0:03:220:03:25

Now this recipe is so much fun

0:03:250:03:27

because we're all going to make it together in a big team.

0:03:270:03:31

We will fill this lovely cottage loaf with lots of lovely ingredients

0:03:310:03:37

to make a sort of giant sandwich.

0:03:370:03:39

Then we can all share it later on.

0:03:390:03:41

-That's good, isn't it?

-ALL: Yes!

0:03:410:03:44

Oh, let's all pretend to be giants, first.

0:03:440:03:47

You can join in with us. Make yourself REALLY big.

0:03:470:03:50

That's it, like this. Chin up, and then say...

0:03:500:03:54

Fee-fi-fo-fum! I want some picnic loaf in my tum!

0:03:540:04:00

ALL: Fee-fi-fo-fum! I want some picnic loaf in my tum!

0:04:000:04:07

All right, giants. First, we split this picnic loaf into three slices,

0:04:070:04:13

which I've done for you, and I'll give you each a slice.

0:04:130:04:17

So, this slice is for you. Pop it there...

0:04:170:04:21

I'll keep the little slice. And this slice is for you guys.

0:04:210:04:25

There you go.

0:04:250:04:28

OK, the next thing we'll do, team, is use our brushes.

0:04:280:04:32

So grab your brushes. Give them a little wiggle.

0:04:320:04:36

That's it. Dip them in some oil. Give it a good swishy-swash.

0:04:360:04:40

Then brush the oil all over your bread to make it nice and shiny.

0:04:400:04:45

It's a bit like painting!

0:04:450:04:47

Why don't you pretend to do some brushing, as well?

0:04:470:04:49

Just pretend you've got a brush...then go

0:04:490:04:53

brush, brush, brush! You're really good at that.

0:04:530:04:57

How are we doing, everybody?

0:04:570:04:59

-Great.

-That looks really good, Callum.

0:04:590:05:02

Once you've brushed the whole piece, pop your brushes down,

0:05:020:05:06

because next we're going to snip up some lovely cherry tomatoes.

0:05:060:05:11

Which look like this!

0:05:110:05:13

Now, everyone, take your scissors, and remember, when using scissors,

0:05:130:05:19

everybody knows, we need to point them down towards our...?

0:05:190:05:24

-TOES!

-You've got it, guys!

0:05:240:05:26

Hold the handle of the cup, and let's get snipping.

0:05:260:05:31

Oh! These tomatoes are really exploding.

0:05:310:05:35

What's coming out of the tomatoes?

0:05:360:05:39

-ALL: Seeds.

-What would happen if we planted the seeds?

0:05:390:05:43

It would turn into a plant that would have tomatoes on it.

0:05:430:05:49

That's right. It would.

0:05:490:05:52

Stop snipping your tomatoes,

0:05:520:05:54

and just pop your cup to one side.

0:05:540:05:56

We're going to use that later on.

0:05:560:05:58

Next, we'll make a pattern on our bread slices.

0:05:580:06:01

And our first ingredient is lovely salad leaves,

0:06:010:06:05

which you've got on your tables.

0:06:050:06:07

So take some salad leaves

0:06:070:06:08

and scatter them over your bread slice.

0:06:080:06:11

Oh, you've got loads!

0:06:110:06:15

OK, next we add a lovely layer of meat.

0:06:150:06:17

The meats we're using today are salami and ham.

0:06:170:06:21

But you can use any meat you want to.

0:06:210:06:23

So grab a little piece of meat.

0:06:230:06:25

And add a nice layer over the salad leaves. That looks so tasty!

0:06:250:06:31

Once you've done that, we'll add a lovely layer of cheese.

0:06:310:06:35

Who likes cheese?

0:06:350:06:38

Me!

0:06:380:06:39

Do you like cheese? I thought so!

0:06:390:06:42

Now get your cheese and add a lovely layer on top of your meat.

0:06:420:06:46

Off you go!

0:06:460:06:49

And next, add the lovely chopped tomatoes we snipped up earlier on.

0:06:490:06:54

Once you've sprinkled all the tomatoes over,

0:06:540:06:58

we'll finally add some lovely flavour with a herb.

0:06:580:07:02

And it begins with the letter...B. Can anyone guess what it is?

0:07:020:07:06

-Basil.

-Basil! You've got it.

0:07:060:07:09

So grab your basil and sprinkle it all over.

0:07:090:07:13

So that's all the decorating done,

0:07:130:07:16

so now we need to put the picnic loaf together like a big jigsaw.

0:07:160:07:20

So, I'll come and get your slice.

0:07:200:07:23

Oh, my goodness. I'll have to balance it. Follow me.

0:07:230:07:27

And we'll put it all together. So we put that bit on there...

0:07:290:07:35

-THEY LAUGH

-..and that bit on there like a hat!

0:07:350:07:38

And we'll squash it down.

0:07:380:07:40

So let's put our hands on top of it - one, two, three...squash!

0:07:400:07:44

THEY ALL LAUGH

0:07:440:07:46

And let's look at it. Oh, it looks wonderful.

0:07:460:07:49

THEY LAUGH

0:07:490:07:50

We need to wrap it up like a present. So I'll get some foil.

0:07:500:07:55

Put it on top... Wrap it up - off we go!

0:08:000:08:03

THEY SQUEAL

0:08:030:08:04

It's like a great big silver present!

0:08:040:08:07

And that's it. You've done it!

0:08:070:08:09

You've made your picnic loaf all by yourselves!

0:08:090:08:12

Now we just pop this in the fridge.

0:08:120:08:14

Now, I'll put something heavy on top of our loaf

0:08:180:08:22

so keep it nice and squashed in the fridge.

0:08:220:08:26

And you'll need to get an adult to help you with this bit.

0:08:260:08:30

Carefully, does it. There we go.

0:08:300:08:34

-TOOT-TOOT-TOOT!

-Thanks for reminding me, Horace!

0:08:340:08:37

We need to make everywhere tidy and clean.

0:08:370:08:40

Let's scrub those pots till they sparkle and gleam!

0:08:400:08:44

# Now we've cooked, let's wash up

0:08:460:08:49

# Stack the plates and the bowls on top

0:08:490:08:52

# Dishes and spoons, splish-splash-splosh

0:08:520:08:56

# Having fun while we tidy and wash

0:08:560:08:59

# Dishes and spoons, splish-splash-splosh

0:08:590:09:02

# Having fun while we tidy and wash. #

0:09:020:09:05

There! Lovely and clean.

0:09:050:09:07

Let's pop all our things down here.

0:09:070:09:10

You've done such a good job of tidying up.

0:09:100:09:12

Now, whilst our food's in the fridge chilling, who wants to play games?

0:09:120:09:17

-ALL: Yay!

-Come on, team, let's go!

0:09:170:09:19

Here you go, Ruby.

0:09:190:09:22

-OK, who's ready to play, What's The Time, Mr Wolf?

-ALL: Me!

0:09:220:09:27

-Is everyone ready?

-ALL: Yes!

0:09:270:09:29

I'm very hungry today. OK, off you go.

0:09:290:09:33

ALL: What's the time, Mr Wolf?

0:09:330:09:37

One o'clock.

0:09:370:09:39

ALL: What's the time, Mr Wolf?

0:09:400:09:43

What's the time, Mr Wolf?

0:09:460:09:50

Ten o'clock!

0:09:500:09:51

THEY COUNT TEN STEPS

0:09:510:09:54

-What's the time, Mr Wolf?

-It's dinner time!

0:09:540:09:56

THEY SQUEAL

0:09:560:09:57

-Oh, I've gotcha!

-THEY LAUGH

0:09:590:10:01

OK, Ruby, you're the wolf this time. Back to the beginning.

0:10:010:10:04

What's the time, Mr Wolf?

0:10:040:10:07

Five o'clock!

0:10:070:10:08

THEY COUNT FIVE STEPS

0:10:080:10:11

What's the time, Mr Wolf?

0:10:110:10:13

-Ten o'clock.

-THEY COUNT

0:10:130:10:18

What's the time, Mr Wolf?

0:10:200:10:22

DINNER TIME!

0:10:220:10:24

THEY SQUEAL AND LAUGH

0:10:240:10:27

She got you, Jacob!

0:10:280:10:31

Oh, my goodness me! All this playing has made me really hungry.

0:10:310:10:36

-Are you guys hungry?

-ALL: Yes!

0:10:360:10:38

-Shall we have a snack before we play some more games?

-ALL: Yes!

0:10:380:10:42

TOOT-TOOT!

0:10:420:10:43

Listen! I can hear Horace telling us our food is ready.

0:10:430:10:46

So why don't you set out the picnic things,

0:10:460:10:49

-and I'll go and collect our picnic loaf from Horace? Shall we go?

-Yes!

0:10:490:10:53

This way.

0:10:530:10:56

-Hi, everybody!

-Hi, Katy!

0:10:560:10:59

-Callum, have you told everyone what we made today?

-Picnic loaf.

0:10:590:11:02

-You've got it. And who wants some picnic loaf?

-ALL: Me!

0:11:020:11:06

I've already cut it up for all of us to have a piece.

0:11:060:11:10

-So let's have a look. There! What do you think, everyone?

-Wow!

0:11:110:11:15

So, Jacob, here's a piece for you. There you go.

0:11:160:11:20

-This looks so good, doesn't it?

-Thank you.

-There you are.

-Thank you.

0:11:200:11:25

All right, everyone. Let's get eating.

0:11:250:11:27

-What's your favourite thing in here?

-The cheese and the salami.

0:11:310:11:36

Mmm...! That's lovely!

0:11:380:11:39

-What was your favourite part of making it?

-Putting the salami on.

0:11:420:11:47

-Cos you like salami the best, don't you?

-Yes.

0:11:470:11:50

This is gorgeous!

0:11:500:11:52

In fact, I've got loads more energy after eating this picnic loaf.

0:11:530:11:57

-Who wants to play more games?

-Yeah!

-Come on, then. Let's go!

0:11:570:12:01

And you can come too. Come on!

# Hip-hip-hip-hooray! #

0:12:250:12:27

Coming, everyone!

0:12:270:12:28

OK, guys. Shall we play sleeping lions next?

0:12:300:12:34

-ALL: Yeah.

-OK, so, lions. Off you go to sleep.

0:12:340:12:38

SHE MAKES PIGGY NOISES

0:12:410:12:43

0:12:580:13:04

High-five, Ede. Well done!

0:13:040:13:07

OK, Ede, as you won that round, you can be the inspector this time.

0:13:070:13:11

So everyone off to sleep. Go, go, go!

0:13:200:13:23

Try and wake the others up.

We've had a brilliant day playing today.

0:13:280:13:31

And that picnic loaf was such a good snack for helping us play even more.
