0:20:580:21:02

Well, I've got my gear and I am ready to do some scooting,

0:21:020:21:06

but where's Jada? ..Oh, there you are!

0:21:060:21:09

-Hi, Jada!

-Hi, Katy.

0:21:090:21:11

-So, Jada, are these your friends?

-Yes.

-What's your name?

-Kia.

0:21:110:21:15

Freya.

0:21:150:21:16

-And what's your name?

-Fatima.

0:21:160:21:18

Well, it's fantastic to meet all of you.

0:21:180:21:20

I'm really excited. What are we going to do today, Jada?

0:21:200:21:23

Make something with cheese and pasta and ride on our scooters.

0:21:230:21:27

I have the perfect recipe for us to make. Shall we do some cooking?

0:21:270:21:31

ALL: Yeah!

0:21:310:21:33

Come on, let's go. This way!

0:21:330:21:35

Welcome to my outdoor kitchen! Who's excited?

0:21:380:21:42

ALL: Me!

0:21:420:21:43

Me too! Who wants to know what we're going to cook today?

0:21:430:21:46

ALL: Me!

0:21:460:21:48

Well, today we're going to cook cheesy pasta rolls. Look at this.

0:21:480:21:53

ALL: Wow!

0:21:540:21:56

Smells good, doesn't it? ALL: Yeah!

0:21:560:21:58

Before we get started, we've got to do something really important.

0:21:580:22:02

What do you think it is?

0:22:020:22:03

ALL: Wash our hands!

0:22:030:22:05

Of course, we have to wash our hands. Let's go, everyone.

0:22:050:22:09

# Roll up your sleeves Give your hands a wash

0:22:140:22:17

# With slippy dippy soap

0:22:170:22:19

# Splish, splash, splosh!

0:22:190:22:20

# Have you done your hands? Washed and dried?

0:22:200:22:23

# Sleeves rolled up Aprons tied

0:22:230:22:26

# What can you do? I can cook! #

0:22:260:22:29

Right then, everyone, let's get started

0:22:310:22:34

on our cheesy pasta rolls.

0:22:340:22:36

Are you ready? ALL: Yeah!

0:22:360:22:38

Now the first ingredient we need is chilli flakes.

0:22:380:22:41

Chilli flakes will add a really great flavour.

0:22:410:22:44

They will add some kazaam to our recipe! Can everyone go, "Kazaam"?

0:22:440:22:50

ALL: Kazaam!

0:22:500:22:52

We need a pinch of chilli flakes, and for that, we need our pinchy parrot.

0:22:520:22:56

So make a pinchy parrot. You put your thumb down

0:22:560:22:59

put our two fingers down on top

0:22:590:23:03

and you do a really big squawk like this, "Squawk! Squawk! Squawk!"

0:23:030:23:07

And then take a pinch of chilli flakes with your pinchy parrot

0:23:070:23:11

and put it into this cup of chopped tomatoes.

0:23:110:23:15

We're going to wipe our hands.

0:23:150:23:17

Chilli flakes have a really strong flavour.

0:23:170:23:20

We don't want them anywhere near our eyes.

0:23:200:23:22

Then we're going to take a spoon and mix them in.

0:23:220:23:25

What's happened to all the chilli flakes, Freya?

0:23:280:23:32

-They've gone into the tomatoes.

-Yeah, they've disappeared!

0:23:320:23:35

Next we need our pinchy parrots again!

0:23:350:23:38

Where's your pinchy parrot?

0:23:380:23:40

ALL: Squawk! Squawk! Squawk!

0:23:400:23:45

They are loud parrots.

0:23:450:23:47

Take a pinch of pepper

0:23:470:23:48

and we're going to put this into this bowl of ricotta cheese.

0:23:480:23:53

This is a really lovely cheese.

0:23:530:23:56

It's really smooth and creamy.

0:23:560:23:58

I wonder what ingredient we need next for our cheesy pasta rolls?

0:23:580:24:02

What's next?

0:24:020:24:03

Well let us see if you can guess what it could be.

0:24:030:24:07

So, we've got a lime,

0:24:090:24:10

we've got some mint and some raspberries.

0:24:100:24:15

What would you choose for our cheesy pasta rolls?

0:24:150:24:19

I'll give you some clues.

0:24:190:24:21

The special ingredient is green.

0:24:210:24:24

Well, raspberries are red.

0:24:240:24:26

So let's take that one away for a start.

0:24:260:24:28

Here's another clue.

0:24:280:24:30

The special ingredient is green and it's a herb.

0:24:300:24:33

Limes are green,

0:24:330:24:34

but they're not a herb, are they?

0:24:340:24:37

They're a fruit. So let's take that one away as well.

0:24:370:24:40

So that leaves us with mint.

0:24:400:24:42

We need some mint for our cheesy pasta rolls.

0:24:420:24:45

Mint is something you can easily grow

0:24:510:24:54

and you don't even need that much space.

0:24:540:24:56

The first thing you need is a little tray like this

0:24:560:25:00

and then put some soil inside of it. You need to keep the soil wet.

0:25:000:25:04

So I'm going to give it a little water first of all. Give it a drink.

0:25:040:25:09

Once that soil has soaked up all of the water,

0:25:110:25:15

we're going it need our mint seeds, which we've got over here.

0:25:150:25:19

And look at these.

0:25:190:25:20

They are so, so small!

0:25:200:25:22

Now we're going to sprinkle the seeds all over the soil.

0:25:220:25:27

You can't even see them once you spread them. There we go.

0:25:270:25:31

Then we cover the seeds with all the soil

0:25:310:25:33

and we need to keep them really nice and warm.

0:25:330:25:36

So we're going to get some clingfilm and cover them up.

0:25:360:25:39

It's a bit like making a little greenhouse.

0:25:390:25:42

And after a few weeks, tiny little green shoots

0:25:450:25:48

will start to sprout through the soil, like these here.

0:25:480:25:52

Can you see them?

0:25:520:25:54

Then after about a month,

0:25:540:25:56

you'll get a lovely big mint plant, like this one here.

0:25:560:26:00

Perfect to use on our cheesy pasta rolls.

0:26:000:26:02

Here's the mint that I've grown

0:26:050:26:07

and we're going to use it in our recipe.

0:26:070:26:10

Rub the mint leaf between your fingers, like this, and smell it.

0:26:100:26:14

ALL: Mmm!

0:26:140:26:16

Amazing, isn't it? We've got a cup of spinach leaves over here

0:26:160:26:21

and we're going to count five mint leaves into our spinach.

0:26:210:26:25

So let's count, ready?

0:26:250:26:27

A-one, two, three...

0:26:270:26:30

four, five.

0:26:300:26:33

And now it's time to do some snipping.

0:26:330:26:36

To do snipping, what will we use, girls?

0:26:360:26:38

ALL: Scissors!

0:26:380:26:40

But remember - be safe with scissors.

0:26:400:26:42

Everyone knows that we point them down towards our...?

0:26:420:26:46

ALL: Toes!

0:26:460:26:47

Got it! Let's get snipping!

0:26:470:26:49

It smells minty.

0:26:490:26:52

It smells minty!

0:26:520:26:54

You can do some snipping with us at home too.

0:26:540:26:56

Get your scissors like this and go... Snip, snip, snip.

0:26:560:27:00

Keep snipping, everyone.

0:27:000:27:02

Snip. Snip. Snip.

0:27:020:27:04

Once you've finished snipping,

0:27:040:27:06

you can put the mint leaves and spinach leaves

0:27:060:27:11

into your bowl of cheese.

0:27:110:27:14

ALL: Put the leaves in the cheese!

0:27:140:27:16

When the scissors touch the bowl,

0:27:160:27:19

-it sounds like music.

-It does, doesn't it?

0:27:190:27:22

Then we're going to give everything in that bowl

0:27:220:27:25

a good mix with our spoon.

0:27:250:27:27

Whizz it around, everyone. Remember to do this at home.

0:27:270:27:31

Get your bowl... Got it?

0:27:310:27:34

Get your spoon... Got it?

0:27:340:27:36

And mix, mix, mix.

0:27:360:27:38

Next, we're going to use this -

0:27:380:27:40

it's a pasta sheet.

0:27:400:27:42

Have you ever had pasta like this before?

0:27:420:27:44

Yeah, I have. I've used it for lasagne.

0:27:440:27:48

It's really tasty, isn't it?

0:27:480:27:50

We'll take this pasta

0:27:500:27:52

and we have to fold it in half, like this. Can you see?

0:27:520:27:56

Then you can break it into two pieces.

0:27:560:27:59

It looks like two little wings. That's it.

0:27:590:28:02

So we're going to spread our cheesy mixture all over these pasta sheets

0:28:020:28:06

and we're going to take a really big spoonful of our cheesy mixture

0:28:060:28:12

and put that spoonful on top of one of the pasta sheets.

0:28:120:28:16

Then get another big spoonful and put that on top of the other pasta sheet.

0:28:160:28:22

You need the same amount on each sheet.

0:28:220:28:25

I can see little green bits.

0:28:250:28:27

So who is ready to do some spreading?

0:28:270:28:30

ALL: Me!

0:28:300:28:32

We're going to spread our mixture over the pasta sheets

0:28:320:28:35

using a knife. Now, some knives can be sharp,

0:28:350:28:38

so you do have to be really careful,

0:28:380:28:40

but this is just a table knife,

0:28:400:28:42

the kind of knife you might be used to using at home

0:28:420:28:45

and it's fine for us to use.

0:28:450:28:47

So, girls, are you ready to do some spreading?

0:28:470:28:50

ALL: Yeah!

0:28:500:28:51

Let's get going. It's a bit like spreading butter on toast.

0:28:510:28:55

-Have you done that before?

-I have.

0:28:550:28:57

It's like painting a pretty picture.

0:28:570:28:59

It looks like you're making a snow picture,

0:28:590:29:03

and the leaves fall down in the snow.

0:29:030:29:05

Like a house, but it hasn't got a chimney, so it looks like a tower.

0:29:050:29:09

A very pretty house with lots of patterns over it.

0:29:090:29:12

Once you've finished spreading, everyone,

0:29:120:29:15

we are going to do some rolling.

0:29:150:29:17

So let's roll up...

0:29:170:29:19

roll down...

0:29:190:29:21

and then roll it all around.

0:29:210:29:23

Why don't you join in with the rolling dance?

0:29:230:29:26

Roll up, roll down...

0:29:260:29:29

and roll it all around!

0:29:290:29:32

Who's ready to roll their pasta?

0:29:320:29:35

ALL: Me!

0:29:350:29:37

I'll show you how to do it. We have to be careful doing this.

0:29:370:29:40

So get your fingers on the top bit

0:29:400:29:43

and roll it up so it looks like a mini rolling pin.

0:29:430:29:46

Look at this. Can you see?

0:29:460:29:47

And the pasta might break a little bit,

0:29:470:29:50

but that's fine. Don't worry about that.

0:29:500:29:53

It's a bit fiddly, isn't it, Jada?

0:29:530:29:55

It's got bigger and bigger.

0:29:550:29:57

That's perfect. That absolutely great.

0:29:570:29:59

Don't worry if it squeezes out the end.

0:29:590:30:01

That's probably going to make it taste even better.

0:30:010:30:05

OK, the next thing we're going to do is take our spoon

0:30:050:30:08

and scoop up some of our tomato mixture

0:30:080:30:12

and put it into your dish. You don't want to use all of it, though,

0:30:120:30:17

only half of it, and spread it around at the bottom of the dish.

0:30:170:30:20

OK, and now it's time to put our lovely cheesy pasta rolls

0:30:200:30:25

into their tomato bath!

0:30:250:30:27

There's one, and then you can scoop up the rest of the tomato

0:30:270:30:32

and put it on top, but make sure you cover all of the pasta rolls.

0:30:320:30:38

So cover them all up like a tomato blanket.

0:30:380:30:42

And who's ready for the final part?

0:30:430:30:46

ALL: Me!

0:30:460:30:47

We're going to take some cheddar cheese and sprinkle it on top.

0:30:470:30:52

Sprinkle! Sprinkle! Sprinkle! GIRLS: Sprinkle! Sprinkle! Sprinkle!

0:30:520:30:56

-Finished!

-Finished!

0:30:560:30:58

Everyone say "cheese"!

0:30:580:31:00

ALL: Cheese!

0:31:000:31:02

Well, that's it, girls, you've done it.

0:31:020:31:04

You've put all the ingredients together for your cheesy pasta rolls,

0:31:040:31:09

all by yourself. Now it's time to put them in the oven,

0:31:090:31:13

But remember, ovens are hot, so don't go near.

0:31:130:31:17

Ask a grown-up to help you here.

0:31:170:31:20

# Now we've cooked with you

0:31:210:31:23

# And had lots of fun

0:31:230:31:25

# Let's tidy up and think of all the things that we have done! #

0:31:250:31:29

-There was...

-Mixing.

-Spreading.

-Rolling!

-And...

-Snipping!

0:31:290:31:33

# Clearing any mess Putting things away

0:31:330:31:38

# Is always fun to do at the end of the day! #

0:31:380:31:41

Look, girls, our food's all cooked in the oven.

0:31:430:31:46

It smells absolutely amazing. Let's have a look at yours, Freya.

0:31:460:31:50

It looks like a sausage roll.

0:31:500:31:53

Yes, a tomato sausage roll, but there's no sausage in it.

0:31:530:31:57

And what happened to yours in the oven?

0:31:570:31:59

The cheese is all melted and the tomato has gone all sloppy.

0:31:590:32:04

Let's have a look at yours, Jada.

0:32:040:32:06

Jada, it looks brilliant.

0:32:060:32:09

-What's this bit sticking up here?

-The cheesy pasta.

0:32:090:32:12

The cheesy pasta! Can you point to where the mint is?

0:32:120:32:15

That's the baby leaf,

0:32:150:32:17

that's the mummy leaf and that's the daddy leaf.

0:32:170:32:20

Oh, yes! Are you looking forward to eating it?

0:32:200:32:24

This is making me extremely hungry! Is it making you hungry too?

0:32:240:32:27

ALL: Yeah!

0:32:270:32:29

Let's save our food for this afternoon.

0:32:290:32:31

We travelled to you, we've cooked and had fun.

0:32:310:32:35

Now let's have a party, with everyone!

0:32:350:32:38

ALL: Yeah!

0:32:380:32:39

Come on, you can come with us. Let's go, girls.

0:32:390:32:43

Come on, let's go share our food.

0:32:450:32:48

Look at that! Did you make that? Wow, it's really good.

0:32:500:32:54

You've done a good job.

0:32:540:32:56

-Did you make this yourself?

-Yeah.

0:32:560:32:58

It looks nice. How did you get the mint?

0:32:580:33:01

Katy grew it.

0:33:010:33:02

Katy grew it? Wow!

0:33:020:33:04

Mmm, that's yummy. That's delicious.

0:33:040:33:08

What can you taste? Is it the chilli?

0:33:080:33:11

Hot!

0:33:110:33:13

Shall I get the fire engine in?

0:33:130:33:14

Nee-naw, nee-naw, nee-naw!

0:33:140:33:17

So, what can you do?

0:33:200:33:22

ALL: I can cook!

0:33:220:33:24

With me and...

0:33:240:33:26

ALL: With you!

0:33:260:33:28

And if you would like to make some cheesy pasta rolls,

0:33:280:33:31

you can find the recipe on our website.

0:33:310:33:34

Now, we've let our food go down so, who wants to ride on our scooters?

0:33:360:33:41

ALL: Me!

0:33:410:33:42

Come on, girls. Let's go.

0:33:420:33:45

They're over there.

0:33:450:33:47

Let's put our helmets on. All right? Everyone ready?

0:33:470:33:50

ALL: Yes!

0:33:500:33:52

Hands in and let's say, "Let's go."

0:33:520:33:54

ALL: Let's go!

0:33:540:33:55

Let's play sharks and fishes.

0:33:550:33:58

I've got to catch all the fish -

0:33:580:34:00

you're all the fish and I'm the shark! Go! Go! Go! Go!

0:34:000:34:03

ALL SQUEAL
