Emma, I'm so excited, can you tell me what we'll do today?

Make something with green beans to eat while watching planes.

That will be so much fun, Emma. I have got the most perfect recipe.

OK, I'll show you. Today's recipe is baked explorer pancakes.

Delicious. I can't wait to start cooking.

Before we do, we've got to do something really important.

-You know what it is?

-Wash our hands.

That's right, we've got to wash our hands. So let's get going.

Let's get started.

The first thing we need to do

to make our baked explorer pancakes is crack an egg into a cup.

-Now, where do you think eggs like these come from?

-Chickens.

A chicken, that's right. And a chicken makes a noise like this.

Can you pretend to be a chicken?

You can join in as well if you want to.

Ready? Rah! Rah! Rah!

It lays an egg, which is what we've got here.

So let's hold the handle of our mug and then we're going to...

knock, knock, knock on the door.

Look at that - it's coming out! And use your thumbs to open it up.

One, two three.

Yes! Dylan, amazing.

The next thing we're going to add to our cracked egg in the mug

is some milk and milk also comes from an animal.

-Does anyone know what animal it might be?

-Cow.

-And what noise does a cow make?

-Moo!

-Moo!

-Moo!

-Moo!

So we're going to use two dessert spoonfuls of milk

and for that we will need our good friend, Mr Spoon.

Hello, Mr Spoon. "Oh, hello, Katy."

Mr Spoon, we need your help, because we need you

to tip and load the milk for us. "Oh, great, Katy!

"I love a bit of tip and loading. Let's have a go, then!"

So we have to put our spoon into the cup

and tip and load to fill it up.

Whoosh!

My egg looks like a fried egg.

That's right, it's created a little island in the middle of the milk.

So all we have to do now is use our fork to whisk it all up.

So hold the handle of your cup and use your fork to whisk it up.

Three, two, one...go!

Who can pretend to be a whisking machine and make a noise like this?

Next we're going to add some vegetables

to our baked explorer pancakes

and we're going to snip two spring onions.

Remember - be safe with scissors.

Everybody knows that you point them down towards your...?

Snip this spring onion up to where his legs are.

Let's get snipping.

Point them towards your toes. Snip, snip, snippety, snip, snip!

Let's pretend to spring like a spring onion.

Boing! Boing! Boing!

I've got a good game. Who can spring the highest?

Three, two, one...

That was a good one.

We're going to add these pieces to our mixing bowl.

So pick them up with your fingers

and then add these bits to our mixing bowl.

The next thing is sweetcorn.

We've got a bowl of it here, so all together, let's sprinkle. Ready?

Sprinkle, sprinkle, sprinkle!

It's like sweetcorn rain.

-Wow! What colours can you see in the bowl?

-Green.

-White and yellow.

-Yellow.

-Yellow.

That's right. We've got green, white and yellow.

What ingredient do you think we'll need next?

Let us see if you can guess what it could be.

So we've got some green beans,

a lime and a red pepper.

What would you use for our baked explorer pancakes?

I know! I'll give you some clues and you can try and guess.

The special ingredient is green.

Well, a red pepper is red. So we can take that one away.

and it's a vegetable.

Limes are a citrus fruit, aren't they?

We can take that one away too.

Which leave us with green beans.

We'll need green beans in our baked explorer pancakes.

And earlier I went to find some.

I've come to Esher in Surrey to try and find some green beans.

And I've come to a farm where you can pick your own.

Now, these are what we're looking for.

And you can see the part that attaches the bean to the plant.

So come on, let's go and find some.

Beans are a similar colour to the leaves,

so they're really hard to find.

It's like playing hide and seek.

Right. Found one.

Look, the beans look like they're long green fingers!

Urgh!

Look, these flowers will eventually turn into beans

and there's one that's already started growing.

Oh, look, there's a ladybird there. Hello, Mr Ladybird!

And that should be enough beans for everyone.

I just need to give these a wash

then they'll be ready to use for our baked explorer pancakes.

I couldn't believe how many green beans were hiding on those plants.

It was amazing. Now we've get them, let's use them in our recipe.

And we're going to play a really, really fun game.

It's called the pinch and snap game.

So we take a green bean and we have to pinch off the stalk.

We give it a wobble, and you can wobble while you do it if you want.

Like this - wobble, wobble. Can you do that? Wobble, wobble.

Wobble, wobble, wobble, wobble! And then you pinch it off, like that.

And then you take the two ends of the bean like bicycle handlebars,

One, two, three!

Snap, pinch and snap.

ALL: Pinch and snap.

It look like a crocodile's mouth.

"Snap, snap, snap! I'm Mr Crocodile."

And then once you've finished pinching and snapping,

pick all the green beans up

and put them with the rest of your vegetables.

And then take our eggy mixture from earlier on

and pour it in with all of our vegetables.

-Splash!

-Splash!

And then use your spoon to mix it all up.

What's happening to the vegetables, Dylan?

-They're getting gooey.

-Yeah.

-Ooh they're sticking to the sides.

Don't forget to stir with us at home

and get your bowl and your spoon and...

Oh, you know it already! Mix, mix, mix.

Bring over your bowl of flour

and to it we're going to add some baking powder.

When the pancakes go in the oven, they're going to magically rise up.

Why don't you join in, too?

Go down like this and... Ooh!

Whoa! Pop!

Brilliant! Fantastic fun!

Let's add the baking powder to our flour.

-We just sprinkle it in.

-Sprinkle, Sprinkle!

That's it, done. And we need a pinch of black pepper.

For that we're going to use the pinchy parrot.

So we put our thumb down, that's it and pull your fingers on top

and you go, "Rah! Rah! Rah!"

And the pinchy parrot is going to take a pinch of black pepper.

Rah! There we go.

Thank you, pinchy parrot. And then give it a mix.

The last thing we need to do is add all the dry ingredients in this bowl

to all the wet ingredients in this bowl.

Fromp!

There we go and then we're go give everything in this bowl a giant mix.

So take your spoon and let's get mixing.

Ooh, it's going all sticky.

Yuck! I can't even stir it!

-It's soaked it in.

Yes, it has disappeared.

So use your spoon to scoop up a big mountain of our mixture

and put it at the top.
