OK, I'll tell you. Today's delicious recipe is...

banana and toffee pudding!

-Mmmm!

But before we get started, there's something we've got to do.

Let's get started!

The first thing we need for our banana and toffee pudding

is some toffee! Can you pretend you're chewing a toffee?

Yum, yum, yum!

Can you pretend that you're chewing a toffee?

Because normally, toffees are quite chewy,

but, today, we're going to use a lovely gooey toffee.

All we need to do is squeeze it into a dish I've already oiled.

You need to open the lid like that, and you can pretend to squeeze

with us as well. You get your bottle and you go...squeeze!

There you go.

What we're going to do is squeeze and count to four, and then stop.

And squeeze!

One, two, three, four... Stop!

Ah!

Everyone got lots of toffee?

-Mm-hm.

-All that lovely toffee...mmm!

We've added toffee. What ingredient do you think

we'll need in our banana and toffee pudding? What is next?

Let us see if YOU can guess what it could be.

Let me give you some clues.

The special ingredient is yellow, so could it be...

..a yellow scarf?!

We don't want to put that in our cooking!

Come on, we'll try again.

The special ingredient is yellow and it's curvy.

Could it be...

..a sponge?!

That's silly! We don't want to put a sponge in our cooking!

Let's try one last time.

So the special ingredient is yellow, it's curvy,

and you can peel it.

So it must be...

..a banana.

We're going to need a banana for our banana and toffee pudding.

-Shall we see if we can find out more about bananas on my computer?

-Yeah.

OK. Come on, let's go.

Bananas grow in hot countries,

and are picked in bunches when they are still green.

They are put into boxes,

and sent by boat to other countries, like ours.

When they arrive, big lorries take them to the banana warehouses...

..where they are unloaded and put into special rooms

so that the bananas will ripen really slowly.

When they turn yellow, they are ripe,

which means they are ready to eat.

Some bananas are put into bags,

and labelled.

And some go straight into boxes.

Then they are ready for the shops.

Wow. That was so interesting.

Come on, let's get back to the cooking.

So we're going to use our banana in our banana and toffee pudding.

You can't make banana and toffee pudding without a banana.

Hey, what animal likes bananas?

-Monkey.

-A monkey!

Who can pretend to be a monkey, like this? Ooh-ooh-ah-ah-ah!

Ooh-ooh-ah-ah-ah! Can you pretend to be a monkey at home with us?

Ready? Ooh-ooh-ah-ah-ah!

Ooh-ooh-ah-ah-ah!

And who can pretend to be a wiggly banana?

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle!

Can you pretend to be a wiggly banana too?

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle!

-Shall we peel our banana?

-Yes.

-OK.

So we need to hold the banana like this,

and we take the top off and peel.

So take your banana out of its little case,

then we're going to use a table knife to cut it into little circles.

Now, some knifes can be quite sharp,

-so you have to be very, very careful.

-Be careful.

That's right. But we're just going to use a table knife,

which is the kind of knife you're used to eating with at home,

so it's OK to use.

So let's chop our banana into lots of small circles.

Can everyone go, "Chop, chop, chop, chop?"

What do your banana circles feel like, Skye?

-Squidgy.

-I like squidgy bananas.

OK, we're going to put all of the banana,

apart from one special slice,

on top of the toffee.

Can I see the one that you're going to save?

THEY LAUGH

Now, put this special bit of banana in the corner of your mat,

cos we're going to use that later on.

And then put all the rest of the banana on top of your lovely toffee.

Brilliant.

So now we need to make the cake mixture to put on top

of our banana and toffee. The first thing is to crack an egg.

Where does an egg like this come from?

-Chickens.

-What does a chicken do?

-Rawk!

-Can you pretend to be a chicken?

Rawk!

Ha-ha! That's a really good chicken.

Now take your mug, and hold it by the handle,

and we're going to knock, knock, knock on the door of our egg,

like this.

Knock, knock, knock!

And then use your thumbs to open the egg up.

Woo-hoo!

EGGS KNOCKING

So now let's take a fork and do some whisking.

And this is something that you can do at home as well.

You get a mug and a fork, and you whisk, whisk, whisk.

FORKS RATTLE

Keep whisking until your mixture is all gloopy like this.

Let's go gloopy whoopy!

Gloopy whoopy!

-Do you think we're ready for the next step?

-Yes.

-OK.

The next thing we're going to do is get this lovely, big bowl

and put it on our mat.

And we've got some butter,

-and some flour, and what else?

-Flour.

-Cheese?

Cheese? That's butter, although it does look a bit like cheese.

This is a kind of sugar called caster sugar.

We're going to add our eggy mixture to this bowl.

-Ready?

-Splish, splosh!

And then get your big spoon, and give it a ginormous mix.

It's very sticky.

It is, isn't it? Oh, and don't forget to do mixing with us at home.

You get a big bowl and a really big spoon,

and you mix, mix, mix. You've got it.

The last ingredient we need to add is a pinch of mixed spice.

So we need to get our pinchy fingers out for this.

Pinch, pinch, pinch! And take a pinch of mixed spice.

And then sprinkle it into your cake mixture.

So mixing your mixed spice.

Gosh, we're doing a lot of mixing today.

Even the mixed spice is mixed!

So then we're going to scoop our cake mixture up

with our big wooden spoon,

and use our spatula to scoop it off our spoon,

into our dish. Ooh, yummy!

Dasana, what did you do with all your spice?

You cheeky monkey! Did you put all the spice in?

THEY LAUGH

You are going to have lots of flavour in your pudding, aren't you?

Make sure you get every last bit out of your bowl.

And you can use your spatula

to spread it all around like this, look.

And you can do some spreading with us at home like this,

spread, spread, spread! You've got it.

You're a very good cook, aren't you?

And when you've done all the smoothing, everyone,

what's the one final thing that we have to do?

-Put the banana on the top.

-You have got it.

And you can put your banana wherever you want.

I'm going to put mine in the middle.

And that's it! You've made it.

You put all the ingredients together for your banana and toffee pudding

all by yourself.

And now we're going to put

our banana and toffee pudding in the oven.

But remember, ovens are hot, so don't go near.

Ask a grown-up to help you here. Come on, everyone.
