What's up, Life Babblers? Hey, guys.
So, today we'll be babbling about these.
Whether you have one, don't have one, or you're about to get one,
it's all about phones.
Sometimes I think this is the best thing.
And sometimes I think it's the worst thing ever.
All the things we love about our phones.
Versus not love about our phones.
-Taking up all my time.
-Apps and games.
-Losing Wi-Fi connection.
-Always being told to put it down.
-Great to organise seeing friends.
-Am I safe?
Easy to send messages to my family.
Always getting messages from family.
Yep, it can really be a love-hate relationship.
I've just got my first phone and I've wanted one for a while.
It means I can text my friends and find out if they're free.
Some people do use their phones too much,
but I think I've got a good balance.
I sometimes decide to put it down
and think about other things instead.
I know I'm on my phone way too much,
sometimes before school instead of getting ready.
My mum's caught me many times and told me off in the mornings.
I think my parents should cut the Wi-Fi off,
cos I can't help myself.
Whether you have one
or you are about to get one,
being smart and safe on your phone is very important.
You know how important it is to stay safe online.
Use the same rules with your phone.
And some of the things you can put on the internet
will be there forever, so don't share things
that you won't be comfortable letting other people see.
I love my phone, cos I can interact with my friends
when I'm not with them,
and I can also arrange times to meet up in the real world.
Be disciplined and make smart decisions
on how you're going to use your phone.
I've definitely made mistakes with my phone, like many other people,
such as typing the wrong thing,
and although I use my phone a lot, I feel like I have it under control.
Having a phone has its advantages.
It's quick and easy to connect
with those we care about.
Not having a phone also has its advantages.
Without a phone, we have to interact more with the real world,
talk to people face-to-face.
Phones should not be the only way we connect with those we know
and who care about us.
So try putting your phone down.
Get outside, meet up with friends
and go and talk to your family.
I'm so bored!
Nothing ever happens around here.
Phones are fun and we should enjoy them,
but not miss out on real experiences.
See you, guys. I'm off to spend time with family.
Switching off now, switching off now.
Phone's off, and goodbye.
-Turning it off.
-Time to switch you off, phone.
-Just keep babbling.
That's all we have time for today, Life Babblers.
If you want to find out more, head to the CBBC website.
Enjoy your phones.
Just remember to keep the balance right
and keep babbling in the real world.
