Hey there, Lifebabblers.
Today we're looking at food and eating right.
Of course how we eat can have an impact on our lives, but it
can also affect how we're feeling so it's important to get it right.
Food is the fuel that keeps us going.
We're bombarded with choices from sugary drinks and junk food
It can sometimes be overwhelming and confusing.
A good relationship with food is listening to our body,
when we're hungry and when we're not,
what food helps our body in the long run
and what food maybe isn't so nutritious.
It doesn't matter what size or age you are.
With the right balance, eating can be one of life's greatest joys.
I'm not a fan of heathy eating.
If I had to choose between eating an apple and eating some crisps
I know I should get the apple but I like the packet of crisps better.
I really know I should eat healthier but I just don't do it sometimes.
People say you are what you eat
and it's hard not to be a little charmed by the sweets
but your body's unique, you only really get one,
so be kind, eat right.
Show appreciation to yourself and to others when they gather around,
break bread, make friends in the yard or the house,
so we don't always need sweets to have a sweet life.
A lot of time we eat left, so let's try to eat right.
Sian, your specialist subject today is eating right.
You have 30 seconds to answer questions on that subject
You've eaten well all week but you're afraid you'll
feel guilty if you have a treat. What should you do?
Have the treat and enjoy it
and then go back to a well balanced diet
and then leave the guilt behind.
What should you listen to when you think you might be hungry?
Your hamster, your best friend or your body?
Which organ in the body needs nutritious food to help
regulate the chemicals that make you feel happy?
-It is indeed the brain.
You're going to the school disco at the weekend.
-How should you prepare?
-Eat a well balanced diet.
Drink lots of water
so then you have lots of energy for dancing.
Yes, absolutely right. What is...
I've started so I'll finish.
What is Beyonce's favourite food?
-Is it meat paste?
-No, I'm afraid that's not correct.
Sian, you have scored four points with no passes.
Sometimes, people can use food
as a replacement to feel comfortable or safe.
It's really important
you recognise if you're doing this
because you might need help.
A healthy relationship with food
is seeing it AS food.
Balance is key.
If you're struggling to get the right balance for you,
speak to someone you trust and get help.
There were times where I would eat too much
and then there were times where I'd eat too little,
but eventually I found the right balance for me.
I love fruit. I also love chocolate biscuits.
Oranges and cookies.
I like apples, but I also like a doughnut here and there.
Apples, sour gummy worms.
I love bananas. I also really like chocolate cake. Ah!
I try to eat healthy and I love carrots.
I love how they are crunchy when they are cold
but my favourite way is to have them lovely and warm.
My favourite treat is mint choc chip ice cream because it is so minty.
That's all for this Lifebabble.
Remember, there's loads more on the CBBC website.
