Hey guys, so I hope you enjoyed my performance earlier,

and now I'm back with you to have a Lesson in the Lounge.

So what we're going to talk about today are dramatic pauses,

and how they can really impact the song that you're singing.

So the song that I sang for you was You Could Have It All,

which is a very, very emotional song,

and it talks about not believing in your dreams or having things

that hold you back and overcoming them.

So when I sang it I had to bring the emotion to it,

and the best way to do that was to feel the song first.

And the technique in the song is important but the emotion

that you bring to it is what grabs people,

and it's what makes people happy or sad or angry.

It can make people feel anything, really.

So if we're going to go into the song.

If I sang it in time, this is probably what it would sound like.

So technically it sounded OK, but maybe you didn't feel anything.

I'll sing it the other way, with pauses.

So as you guys noticed, the second time,

I actually felt something when I sang,

and the reason was because I took time

to hear the words and feel the words.

And another thing that's important when you're singing solo

is that you don't have to be technically advanced to change

a room and to make people feel something.

So simplicity sometimes is more,

and it can affect people in ways that being technical can't always.
