of her generation.

Dad - even though he's hard on the outside,

he's soft and mooshy on the inside.

And he's quite a good cook too.

Eh, excuse me. How about "very"?

When you're the youngest, you have to fight to get noticed,

so that's why I love to...

It's summer, and me and my crazy family

are spending it in LA.

Let's go. Are we ready?

Holly's best friend, Elspeth, is with us too.

And we're enjoying everything in America...

And best of all, I'm spending lots of time in the kitchen.

And some of the amazing things that I'm cooking are going to be

on my blog for my friends and everyone back home to see.

Today, I'll be sharing my Drummer Sticky Ribs,

Big Beat stars and Pop-Power Brownies.

And there's a good reason for the poptastic food.

As well as cooking, I'm really into music.

I play the drums.

Tilly, get inside!

So today, I'm throwing a pop party, complete with a karaoke machine.

The only problem is, the rest of my family are virtually tone deaf.

My dad tries to be into music but he can't sing.

He can't dance and he can't play an instrument.

But the big question is...

To make my pop party the best ever, my brother and sisters

are going to a famous recording studio in LA

to make a special song for the party.

-Wow!

Lady Gaga actually did her debut album in this room.

She still dressed as crazy as she does now.

Everyone knows that LA is the film capital of America

but it's also the home of the American music industry.

We also have an isolation booth right back there.

The singers who come here use the booths to record in total silence.

Maybe they should leave Jack in there.

Luckily, I'm far away from his racket in the kitchen.

My Drummer Sticky Ribs are so good,

I have to hide them from Dad or he'll eat them all.

They smell amazing whilst they cook, so I'm worried he'll sniff them out.

I'll start by making a BBQ sauce.

This is so easy.

It's just putting all the ingredients in a pan, really.

Add onions, garlic, chilli-flakes and fennel seeds.

Fennel tastes quite strange.

It tastes a bit like liquorice.

Then it's sugar, soy sauce and LOADS of ketchup.

600 grams or a really big squirt.

Ketchup bottles always make rude and funny noises.

SAUCE SQUELCHES

That'll be ready soon.

And remember,

if you're going to take over the kitchen like me,

adults like you to ask first.

Leave the sauce to simmer and get the meat ready.

These are pork ribs and they're super popular in America.

Add salt and pepper.

These are the bones to the ribs

and that's why you call them...

..because, once all the meat's gone, it looks like drumstick.

Remember to wash your hands before and after touching raw meat.

(They smell delicious.)

They're busy making a special song for me,

and first they have to record a backing track.

Each instrument has to be recorded separately,

and, next, it's Megan on the tambourine.

Excuse me, you're not the tambourinist.

I wouldn't be surprised if Chris Martin from Coldplay

had sat in that chair, or Elton John.

Back in the kitchen, my pop party food is coming along nicely too.

I got them in very nice and early.

Oh, wow!

My brother and sisters are going to love these.

Ribs are Jack's favourite.

At the studio, the guys are about to write the words

to the song for my party.

This is hard, isn't it?

"Now, it might seem silly but our sister's called Tilly..."

The trouble is, they decided to make it about me

and I'm dreading what they'll come up with.

"Up at dawn, she's out of her mind."

"Throwing strops of every kind."

Yeah!

"She's our crazy sister who we want to kick in the behind."

OK, say that all again while I write it down.

But even if I don't like the song,

they'll love what I've cooked for them.

It's nice to mix things up sometimes

and I like savoury biscuits

just as much as sweet ones.

I'm pretty sure that my savoury Big Beat Stars

will hit the right note.

Get it?

First I'll add flour and cheese.

Remember to leave a little bit at the end for sprinkling over.

Then it's rosemary, sugar,

baking soda and salt.

This is really quite easy.

Just add all the ingredients and then you get

your hands in for a mix.

It's like a cloud of smoke.

In goes the butter.

Then it's more mixing.

It's like you're grabbing it like a crocodile.

Now add buttermilk.

It's all squidgy, like monster hands.

Now flatten it out and cut out the shapes.

I went for this shape because it's more rock star themed.

It's more dazzling.

Then pop them on a tray.

Rock on!

Finally, brush them with buttermilk, add cheese

and pop them in the oven for...

At the recording studio, the gang are about to

record the song they're making for my party.

Ready, watch him, watch him, ready.

The brilliant thing about brownies is you can make them

your very own by putting whatever you like inside.

I'm adding sour cherries for an extra kick.

This will make it really nice and fluffy.

First, cream some butter...

Add sugar...

Now it's melted dark chocolate...

I'm pretty sure Jack's going to love these.

Mmm. Amazing.

I might be doing a lot more tasting of the chocolaty things, you know,

just double-checking.

Add vanilla extract,

then flour, cocoa powder,

a small pinch of salt...

and five eggs.

This is going to be an eggcellent recipe.

I absolutely love brownies.

And they are so easy to make.

Mmm.

Fold in the sour cherries, then pop in a baking dish

lined with grease-proof paper.

Thick and sticky is perfect.

Those ribs looked delicious.
