My name's Matilda Ramsay but people usually call me Tilly.

Meet my...

Ramsay.

Mum. She wears the trousers

and is the only one Dad's afraid of.

I'm not kissing you when you're like that.

Big sister Megan.

She's all grown-up now and crazy to get on with life.

Jack. He's so good at sport,

he's going to be playing for Britain soon.

This is Holly.

She is determined to be the greatest fashion designer of her generation.

Dad.

Even though he's hard on the outside,

he's soft and mushy on the inside and he's...quite a good cook too.

Um, excuse me. How about very? Matilda!

Matilda!

When you're the youngest, you have to fight to get noticed,

so that's why I love to cook up a storm.

It's the end of a long and incredible summer in LA.

Before we leave, I'm going to show you

some of my favourite memories from our time over here.

OK, Ramsays, let's go.

We've had an amazing adventure in this super cool city.

Yeah!

-My family and I made the most out of every minute.

-Beautiful.

-It's been one nonstop party.

-Strut your stuff. Yes.

The best thing is, I've been doing what I love best -

cooking up a storm.

Nice and shiny.

Right from the word go, the whole family has had a blast over here.

Coming up are some of my favourite LA adventures

and the food I cooked along the way.

Guys, wasn't it so long ago when we arrived

and we were on the suitcases along the landing with Daddy?

THEY SHOUT AND LAUGH

-Oh, that was hilarious.

-Oh, I remember that.

It was really cool, but all of my memories about that day were

flushed out when I was picked up by Chewbacca.

I'm still mentally scarred.

I love Los Angeles - it's an amazing place.

It's surrounded by wonderful hills on one side

and incredible beaches on the other.

It's the second biggest city in America

and it's nearly always sunny and hot, hot, hot.

Surfing! Beach barbecue!

-Oh, yeah!

-Wasn't there the clam broth?

-Clam bake.

-Clam bake, that's it.

One of the best things I did on our American adventure

was cooking at the beach.

It's always Jack and I who end up playing.

Jack is really annoying at the beach.

Well, he's annoying all the time.

Till, come on, we're starving.

You've got to get cooking.

For the barbecue, I cooked herby garlic bread

and clam bake with spicy sausage.

-Tilly.

-Yeah?

-This looks incredible, seriously. Well done.

I loved it when Dad said that.

It's great getting compliments.

Let's all give Tilly a clap, guys. Yay!

Then it was s'mores time.

My brother and sisters love making these

-because we can all do it together.

-I'm making yours.

-OK.

How do you like it?

I might try a bit of chocolate spread on mine, you know.

Wow. It's good.

Then we hit the waves.

Go, Jack!

Come on, Holly! Get wet. Get under.

Surfing is such a Californian thing to do.

Holly, get out of the way. Yes!

-Wipe-out!

-Go, Megan!

Stand up, stand up! Oh! Well done, Meg!

Learning to surf was so cool.

Sun, sea, sand and s'mores - that's hard to beat.

One of the brilliant things about being in LA was seeing

so many cool Californian animals and creepy crawlies.

Jack looked for rattlesnakes in the Hollywood Hills.

We met an amazing bulldog on the beach,

found incredible lizards

and discovered something dangerous

lurking in the garden.

-I'm cooking in that bowl!

-Achoo!

-Aah!

He is happy.

Oh, guys, the monster party - that was pretty cool.

Oh, the severed hand was awesome!

One thing that I'm sure you would agree was quite funny

-was Dad trying to scare us but he failed.

-Let's sneak upstairs...

-And scare Mummy.

-..scare Mummy.

This was one of my best and scariest parties ever.

SPOOKY LAUGH

Dad and I tried out our monster masks on Mum.

THEY SCREAM

-I could have been standing in here with no clothes on.

-Aah!

And to make the party go with a spooky scream,

the guys went to a famous special effects studio...

-Jack, I didn't realise you were in here.

-Oh...

-When did you do that?

-..for a frightening makeover.

-Ew, you look like a fish gone wrong.

Mum gave me a monstrous nail varnish job.

This isn't the colour I'd usually choose.

I cooked some gruesomely, gory food,

scary severed hands, terrifying goblin heads

and really bloody cakes.

And Dad definitely got one over on my LA friends.

Sorry. Sorry. OK, OK. Sorry.

Seriously, he is like a little kid.

Spooky, scary and horribly delicious. What a day!

We met some great people in LA

and although we all spoke the same language,

they didn't always get us, so I wanted to find out

how different their English really is to ours.

So, first question -

what is a courgette?

-What is a what?

-A courgette.

A car?

Do you know what a bogey is?

A bogey?

Um, it's usually, like,

a foreign object in the sky.

-No?

-What's a telly?

-A what?

-A telly.

-A telly... A telephone?

-No.

-Oh.

A...gourd of some sort.

-No? Still wrong?

-It's a bit like a cucumber.

-A zucchini.

-Yeah.

-Oh, so I was

on the right track! It was a gourd.

Yeah, it was a gourd. OK, OK.

I was almost right.

Is it something you eat?

-Um...

-No?

-..you can.

What do you do with it?

-You watch stuff.

-Watch stuff with it?

-A television!

-Yeah.

-OK.

This one's a bit rude

but do you know what a bog is?

A ghost.

Like, a goblin? I don't know.

-Hmm.

-You can pick them.

You can pick them.

Is it, like, an apple? No?

You go there quite a lot in the day.

Well, you go there about three times

-a day.

-Ew, the ladies' room?

-Yeah.

-Gross.

What are chips?

Chips. Oh, I know this one. I totally know this one.

-Fish and chips, right?

-Yeah.

-Yes, OK, so it was fries.

Pretty much, yep.

-This is really important to know.

-Oh, no.

-What's a nappy?

Oh...

-a diaper.

-Yeah.

-Yeah! See?

I guess I don't know. What is it?

It's related to your nose.

Oh.

It's boogers in America.

That's disgusting.

People in LA are really into sports, so it's been brilliant for us lot.

Hey, guys, what about the helicopter as well? That was scary.

-Oh, that was amazing!

-Oh, the helicopter!

-And the zip-lining.

That was so scary.

Come on, everyone.

Before we set off to pit ourselves against a super-thrilling

zipwire, I cooked up one of my favourite

all-American meals to fortify everyone.

I've waited ages to have chilli and corn bread and it's just so nice.

Probably my favourite dish, ever.

Our action-packed day started with an exhilarating chopper ride.

I've never been on a helicopter before.

The zipwire was up in the mountains of Catalina Island,

which is just over 22 miles off the coast.

It's where you go for an extreme sports adventure.

We headed up to the highest ridge

and there was only one way to get down.

-All right, who's going first?

-Come on, Dad.

-Of course, it was the number one Ramsay daredevil.

-Iron Man Daddy.

-Go on, Dad!

-CHEERING

Aah!

-Come on, Meg!

-Go on, Meg!

-CHEERING

-I think it's amazing. I can't wait.

-Clear.

Whoo!

Aah!

When we finally got to the bottom,

we'd travelled almost a mile by zipwire.

It was kind of scary when you were jumping off,

but then I was like, "Wow!" It was so cool.

What a day, fuelled by my chilli.

That was the Ramsay bunch on an adrenaline high.

The food at the Hollywood party was so good.

-Which dish did you like the best?

-I loved the salmon.

-I thought the salmon was really good.

-Yeah, the salmon was good.

-The Matildas?

-The Matildas as well.

I carried out all my own stunts in the kitchen, but in the movies

the stars get a bit of help from stunt doubles...

..and Jack, Megan and Holly went to one of the top places

to learn how to be an action hero.

Jack's always wanted to be in a blockbuster fight scene -

that's why he loved this.

-Oh, my goodness.

-It's so cool in here.

And that's exactly what they learned to do.

This is what I've dreamed of doing

since I was a little kid watching Spider-Man cartoons.

-They've been trained by the pros, so don't try this at home.

-Yes!

I felt like Wonder Woman. It was really cool.

Ladies and gentlemen,

please take your seats for the Ramsay action movie...

and my Matilda Award biscuits.

OK, here we go.

Oh, no. 'I'm ready.' Oh!

-Oh, my goodness, Jack.

The Ramsay bunch are a pretty crazy crew

but the biggest joker by far is Dad.

-Boo!

-Aah!

Whilst we were in LA, he played loads of jokes on us,

so at my Mexican party, we decided to get him back...

big time.

Hey, guys, what about the pinata that looked exactly like Dad

that we all had a good bashing at?

Do you guys mean the best two minutes of my life?

-Jack, you're so horrible to Dad.

-Jack!

Whoa! That's awesome!

-So cool!

-Does it look like me?

-Yes, it does.

-Seriously?

I think it's better-looking!

Wow! Good shot!

Then we released the sweets.

So if your parents ever drive you mad, you know what to do -

get a pinata and whack it!

There's just one last thing to do before we head home...

I've had a blast in LA cooking my heart out

and making some awesome food for my parties, my family and my blog.

It's been great having foodie chats with Dad too

cos he is a...good chef.
