It's brilliant being in sunny Los Angeles,

doing what I love best...

..cooking...

..and coming up with delicious new recipes for my blog.

Recently, I was lucky enough to go to a glamourous red carpet awards

ceremony with my dad.

My vice president would be my daughter, Matilda Ramsay.

Seeing all of those reporters inspired me.

So today, I am getting the gang to do a special Ramsay vlog

about LA life.

Action.

We're doing stories about the glitz,

the glamour and all the crazy stuff that goes on here.

So the big question is...

First, I need a keen pack of reporters...

..to sniff out brilliant stories...

..and food to keep them going.

So I'll be cooking up LA nachos, fuel for speedy journalists...

..and a reviving Californian cooler...

for when the going gets tough.

As editor in chief of the vlog,

I have sent my press gang to one of LA's most famous beaches, Venice.

Where anything and everything goes.

So I am checking in with my Ramsay reporters.

-Yeah.

I'm going to make LA nachos.

They are super delicious, quick and easy to make, and eat.

Perfect for busy reporters.

Lay out your nachos and cover with grated Cheddar cheese.

This doesn't have to be neat and tidy.

You can just bung it all on.

Next, kidney beans...

..followed by cooked, shredded chicken...

..and fiery jalapeno chillies.

I don't like spice,

but Jack loves spice,

so I'm going to put it in a little corner for him.

Last but not least...

..more cheese.

That's terrible.

VOICEOVER: I told you it was cheesy!

So these are going to go in a hot oven for about ten minutes,

until all the cheese is melted and it's all gooey and delicious.

We're here on Venice Beach Boardwalk,

where some of the weirdest,

most wonderful street performers hang out.

Amazing. They're so good.

I think this is definitely one of the weirdest things out in Venice.

The Venice Beach Crew are from all over the world and their crazy show

is packed full of incredible tricks,

from body contortion to street dance and amazing acrobatics.

And for the finale of my walk on LA's weird side, a world exclusive -

a little-known street performer,

What you need after a hard day tracking down stories

is a fantastic Californian cooler.

Fruity, fizzy and lemonadey.

The gang are going to love these.

I mixed together sugar, water and raspberries in this pan,

brought it to the boil.

I strained out all the bits at the bottom.

VOICEOVER: Next, juice some lemons.

There's already seven lemons in here, so I am doing my eighth.

Squeeze this in.

Oh, well. Half of this is really sour.

And this one is really sweet.

VOICEOVER: Pour the super-sweet raspberry syrup

into the super-sour lemon juice.

Now for some cool decorations.

Here is my apple, and I've got my star cutter.

Push it through and...

..look, it's stars for Hollywood stars.

A few little raspberries on the top.

That is good. Got the sweetness and then a bit of sour.

My favourite one is to have fun.

I feel like when you're having fun on the carpet it comes naturally and

your celebrities that you are interviewing will really enjoy your

interview, too. The last one is to always have that one golden question

that's unique to the celebrity, that you can get that interview over

other reporters on the carpet.

For my golden question,

I have decided to stick to a subject close to my heart.

So I do a food programme for CBBC.

So what is your favourite food?

Rice, beans and chicken.

That is my go-to every single day.

If I could only eat one thing, it would probably be French fries.

I really like balsamic vinegar.

And so really anything with that, I'm just like, "Oh, I'll try it."

I think I'm ready to handle the stars from the movie.

Here they come.

I have to ask you, what is your favourite dish to eat?

Eggs Benedict. Hands down.
