-Hi, I'm Matilda.
-No, I'M Matilda.
Cooking is what I love best.
She cooks, she scores.
Hi, I'm Matilda.
I'm in charge of the kitchen in this house.
No, no, Tilly.
Get out of my kitchen.
This is the story of me, my crazy summer...
I'm on the red carpet and I'm about to meet the star of the movie.
..and my even crazier family.
Tilly rules, OK!
You're such a freak.
Mum, please take him away!
It's brilliant being in sunny Los Angeles,
doing what I love best...
..and coming up with delicious new recipes for my blog.
Recently, I was lucky enough to go to a glamourous red carpet awards
ceremony with my dad.
My vice president would be my daughter, Matilda Ramsay.
Seeing all of those reporters inspired me.
So today, I am getting the gang to do a special Ramsay vlog
about LA life.
We're doing stories about the glitz,
the glamour and all the crazy stuff that goes on here.
So the big question is...
First, I need a keen pack of reporters...
..to sniff out brilliant stories...
..and food to keep them going.
So I'll be cooking up LA nachos, fuel for speedy journalists...
..and a reviving Californian cooler...
for when the going gets tough.
As editor in chief of the vlog,
I have sent my press gang to one of LA's most famous beaches, Venice.
Where anything and everything goes.
So I am checking in with my Ramsay reporters.
-Hey, Meg. Hey, Holl.
-How are you?
For our special Ramsay report,
would you please make sure you cover some fashion of LA...
..food and a movie?
And a movie? OK.
Right, we've got a lot to do before we see you later.
We're going to be starving, OK?
Better get going with that food.
I'm going to make LA nachos.
They are super delicious, quick and easy to make, and eat.
Perfect for busy reporters.
Lay out your nachos and cover with grated Cheddar cheese.
This doesn't have to be neat and tidy.
You can just bung it all on.
Next, kidney beans...
..followed by cooked, shredded chicken...
..and fiery jalapeno chillies.
I don't like spice,
but Jack loves spice,
so I'm going to put it in a little corner for him.
Last but not least...
What did the lonely cheese say to himself in the mirror?
VOICEOVER: I told you it was cheesy!
So these are going to go in a hot oven for about ten minutes,
until all the cheese is melted and it's all gooey and delicious.
Pull your trousers up.
Meanwhile, over in Venice Beach,
my Ramsay reporters have been sniffing out stories.
No way, look at that dog, like, skateboarding with the umbrella.
I love her tie.
Megan's vlog is up first.
This is Megan's Walk On The Weird Side Of LA
and I'm here to report on the very amazing people of Los Angeles.
You see that crowd over there? Shall we have a look?
We're here on Venice Beach Boardwalk,
where some of the weirdest,
most wonderful street performers hang out.
Amazing. They're so good.
I think this is definitely one of the weirdest things out in Venice.
The Venice Beach Crew are from all over the world and their crazy show
is packed full of incredible tricks,
from body contortion to street dance and amazing acrobatics.
And for the finale of my walk on LA's weird side, a world exclusive -
a little-known street performer,
I give you Jack Ramsay.
Trust Jack to steal the show.
This is Megan Ramsay signing off from Venice Beach.
Nice one, Meg.
First vlog in the bag.
And my nachos should be ready.
Wow, they look so delicious.
Time to pack these up to give to the Ramsay bunch.
That is actually very good.
Now for extra toppings.
A section of avocado.
Salsa made from chopped tomatoes, onion, coriander and lime juice.
Now THIS is looking amazing.
-Dad, can you come and try some of these?
-What is it?
Do you want to hold it for me?
Can you tidy up, please?
-Can you please let me get some pictures for my blog?
Get out of my kitchen.
He's so annoying, but he can be helpful.
Sometimes, he can be helpful.
Three, two, one, go.
Vlog number two is from our family's style guru, Holly.
And today, we are checking out the different styles in LA.
With so many cool people about,
picking the best look is going to be tricky.
Look at that crazy person.
-Hi, guys. So I love what you guys are wearing.
Can you talk me through the kind of thing
-you'd wear to Venice Beach?
-Like, a lot of tie-dye is worn.
And like short shorts and flip-flops.
Anything you can...
Yeah, cos it's really hot out here.
-You look perfect.
-Thank you very much.
-Nice to meet you.
-Nice meeting y'all, too. Bye.
-Have a good day.
I loved her headscarf. She was really cool.
-These two look pretty hip.
I've been into, like, loose dresses and, like, a lot of bracelets.
And layering necklaces.
-Yeah, same as you guys.
So, Meg, I think we've pretty much got the Venice Beach look.
I think we do. Yay.
-I don't think I have.
So this has been Holly's fashion forecast.
-See you another day.
What you need after a hard day tracking down stories
is a fantastic Californian cooler.
Fruity, fizzy and lemonadey.
The gang are going to love these.
I mixed together sugar, water and raspberries in this pan,
brought it to the boil.
I strained out all the bits at the bottom.
VOICEOVER: Next, juice some lemons.
There's already seven lemons in here, so I am doing my eighth.
Squeeze this in.
Oh, well. Half of this is really sour.
And this one is really sweet.
VOICEOVER: Pour the super-sweet raspberry syrup
into the super-sour lemon juice.
Now for some cool decorations.
Here is my apple, and I've got my star cutter.
Push it through and...
..look, it's stars for Hollywood stars.
A few little raspberries on the top.
That is good. Got the sweetness and then a bit of sour.
Delicious. And I'm going to take some pictures for my blog.
The perfect refreshment for my roving reporters.
Check out some of my best recipes
and blog on the CBBC website.
Here in super-healthy LA, they can't get enough of the
So, as the greediest member of the family...
..I've been all over Venice finding the wackiest,
weirdest and most wonderful foods out here.
I want something even wackier than this.
-This is komb-A-cha.
Kombucha. Cheers, everyone.
This is a fermented tea.
Not so good.
Not good. Not good at all.
What have we got for number two?
So this is Brain Dust.
It's meant to be good for your skin and brain.
Looks like mud in a cup, here we go.
Tastes of fish.
How is that meant to be good for you?
Guys, I'm refusing to eat anything
that's got any sort of crickets inside. Good luck.
This protein, it's said that it's 20 times more efficient
than raising beef.
But that doesn't stop them tasting like sawdust.
vegan, Korean, nori seaweed.
-I like that.
-At last, something actually tastes nice!
The winner is the seaweed.
I'd have it any day over the Brain Dust.
Now, we've got a surprise for Tilly.
Tilly, guess what.
So we've heard that there's a movie premiere going in Hollywood.
Tills, we've pulled some strings,
and we've got you a place on the red carpet.
-What? That's crazy.
-How cool is that?
-That is so cool.
-So you better be ready to go, OK?
-Get on your best clothes, Tills,
-and we'll meet you there.
-We can't wait.
I can't believe it!
I'm off to interview some movie stars.
Hollywood Boulevard, the film premiere capital of the world,
packed with glitz, glamour and stars.
For my final vlog, I'll be reporting straight from the red carpet
at one of the summer's biggest movie premieres -
Luckily, the gang have hooked up with celebrity reporter Alexis Joy.
Right, so, you guys,
I'm going to head off to the red carpet, but first,
Alexis, can you give me some top tips?
My favourite one is to have fun.
I feel like when you're having fun on the carpet it comes naturally and
your celebrities that you are interviewing will really enjoy your
interview, too. The last one is to always have that one golden question
that's unique to the celebrity, that you can get that interview over
other reporters on the carpet.
-Thank you very much.
-You're going to do amazing.
-You're going to ace it, Tills.
-You'll do really well.
But before I head off, food for my hard-working reporters.
These are cheesy, gooey nachos.
-These are delicious.
And then I've got some raspberry lemonade.
Thanks, guys. And I hope you enjoy these.
-See you in a little bit.
-Best of luck.
Tonight's premiere is jam-packed with celebs, cameras and reporters.
Hang on a minute, that includes me!
Breaking news, Tilly Ramsay, reporting on the red carpet.
Hang on a minute, a green carpet.
For my golden question,
I have decided to stick to a subject close to my heart.
So I do a food programme for CBBC.
So what is your favourite food?
Rice, beans and chicken.
That is my go-to every single day.
If I could only eat one thing, it would probably be French fries.
I really like balsamic vinegar.
And so really anything with that, I'm just like, "Oh, I'll try it."
I think I'm ready to handle the stars from the movie.
Here they come.
I have to ask you, what is your favourite dish to eat?
Eggs Benedict. Hands down.
Ooh! OK. So in the morning, I love me some pancakes.
And, of course, I am a world-class pancake maker myself.
Like, world-class, OK? I love them.
It's going to be me next talking to the big star.
I can't wait.
-I'm Tilly Ramsay.
-So nice to meet you.
-Good to meet you.
So I have a cooking show on CBBC.
I'd love to ask you what your favourite food is.
Ooh, my favourite food?
OK, so, I mean, I love chocolate.
When you like really need something comforting very late at night,
grilled cheese sandwich really does it.
Yeah, I feel like I need to be on your show
so you can teach me how to cook something.
You betcha, Bryce.
Tilly Ramsay signing off from the green carpet here
at this movie premiere.
I am exhausted, but amazing vlogs,
great food and a star-studded green carpet,
I can't wait to tell Dad
all about it.
Did the food go down well on the carpet?
The food didn't go on the carpet,
it went to the people around the carpet.
Look at the colour of those.
They look fantastic.
Very exciting. That looks beautiful.
-What is that?
-Refreshing raspberry lemonade.
Raspberry lemonade? Beautiful.
What was it like being a reporter?
It was quite hard at first, but then it got a lot easier.
Did you get any good questions in?
I did, I got some really good questions.
I managed to ask all of them what their favourite food was.
And also, Dad, I met the star of the movie, Bryce Dallas Howard.
-Oh, wow. You like going to movies, right?
Down the line, when you get invited out to the cinema one night...
No, wait, wait, wait! I am happy to come with you and...
Wait. I'll do the food and I'll bring some snacks along.
And the three of us can sit together.
Tilly! And we won't be sitting anywhere near the back row.
Hi, Mum, my name is Tilly Ramsay,
and I'd like to ask you, who is your favourite film star?
Less vlogging, more sleeping.
-But, if you pushed me, I'd say it was Julia Roberts.
Boom. Another Tilly exclusive.
Matilda and her family are coming to the end of their crazy summer in sunny California but before they wave goodbye to LA life there's time for some vlogging. Inspired by a glamorous red carpet event they attended, Tilly, sisters Megan and Holly and brother Jack set out to document stories about the food fads, fashion, kookiness, glitz and glamour of Hollywood. Tilly, the editor and chief of the Ramsay Vlog, is making sure her roving reporters are well fed by preparing some scrummy LA nachos with cheese, beans and chicken and a reviving fruity, fizzy, Californian cooler. Down on Venice Beach boardwalk, Megan, Holly and Jack have their assignments to cover the fashion, LA weirdness, and of course the food of Los Angeles. Tilly has her very own assignment as she heads to a big movie premiere to interview the stars. Let's just hope the Ramsay Bunch vloggers meet their deadlines!
