Episode 6 Meet the Kittens

The kittens are now six weeks old and the last time we saw them

they were learning to eat solid food.

So, now seems to be a good time to start toilet training.

But with 11 kittens learning to go to the toilet,

I wouldn't be wearing open-toe sandals!

The owner is putting down a tray and filling it with cat litter.

Although the kitchens aren't quite sure what it's for.

We'll never eat all that!

One of them checks in with mum Cleo.

Mum, there's something called a litter tray downstairs.

I can tell you for nothing, litter tastes awful.

I'll show you what to do with it. I need to use the loo anyway.

Listen up, everyone, this is the litter tray.

You have to use it to go to the toilet.

I'm not going in that!

The owner's got a perfectly good shoe I've been using.

Right, who wants to play?

There's something coming towards me.

I don't know what it was, but I suspect I was meant to chase it.

Wow! A bird on a stick!

Look! A round green mouse with no legs.

Got you! Whoops!

No, I haven't. No, whoops.

These toys are designed to get the kittens interested

in things they've never seen before.

Like play fighting, toys help the kittens to react quickly

and teach them hunting and chasing skills.

I'm not sure we're going to hunt many of these in the wild,

but what the heck!

Mum Cleo comes in to keep an eye on things.

I think these might be meatballs...

That looks fun. I'm joining the queue for that.

..but they don't taste like meatballs.

If they are meatballs, I think they're still alive!

I'll eat this and if it doesn't agree with me

I'll just poop it out into that litter tray.

The toys also help to improve the kitten's speed, agility and balance.

-Ugh!

-Oops!

There's still room for improvement then.

Catch it if you can!

I'm dizzy. Someone get that litter tray,

I think I'm going to be sick!

MEOW!

Maybe if three of us chase it, we can catch it!

Get off! It's mine.

This balance thing is tricky!

All right, let's try it with the four of us.

Meow.

They're defo not meatballs. I'm off for a rest.

CATS SNORE

Mums Coco and Cleo are tired just from watching.

So, imagine how the kittens feel.

You guessed it, exhausted.

KITTENS SNUFFLE

Meow.

But the kittens have made such a mess that the cleaner has come in.

I wonder if this foot is a toy and I can run after it?

Come on, get those feet moving, so I can chase them.

OK, how about you run around with that mat and let me chase it?

She hasn't got time to play.

You'd better save your energy for next time.

And now the kittens have spotted something else new in the house.

Leave it to me, I've got this.

Just as soon as I've got down these stairs.

I don't care how big you are, mate.

Any trouble and we're going to fall out.

Oh, this could be interesting.

I think someone's about to get a rude awakening.

Coco knows what's about to happen and scarpers smart-ish.

Ha-ha! Look at Mum run. What a scaredy-cat.

You don't see us scared, like...

-It's coming after us! Quick, hide!

-Upstairs.

-I hope it's no good at stairs.

-Come on, everyone. Hide.

It's not fair. It didn't count to ten first.

It will never find me up here!

It's stopped! It's stopped!

I hope it isn't clogged up with kittens.

Don't say things like that!

That was scary.

I was so terrified, I went to toilet in this shoe.

We thought we'd hide behind these things.

Yeah, otherwise it was going to be curtains for us!

Oh, very funny.

This kitten checks out what the cleaner's done.

Wow! That's so much cleaner.

Brilliant! Now we can make it messy again.

There's only one thing left to do after all that excitement -

have a wash.

Cats like to wash themselves to get rid of dirt

and keep their coats nice and shiny.

I've no idea how I got so dirty there.

This tastes funny.

Next time, I'm washing my face first and then my bum!

Some are even learning to wash each other.

You can do your own bum though.

Right, that's at least ten seconds of washing done. Now, let's play!

Come on, then. Let's fight. The loser takes on the hoover.

I wonder what the kittens will learn about next time.

Don't care, we're playing. Bye!
