MEOW MEOW MEOW
Guess what? Our 11 kittens have been asleep.
But now they're waking up, although when they know what's in store for
them they might want to go back to sleep again.
Because today they're getting a check-up.
Remember last time? Their owner discovered fleas on Mum Cleo's ear.
That tiny dot up there is a flea.
-Hello, it's me again. Don't mind me, I'm just biting this cat.
Flea bites can make cats sick, so their owners sprayed them
to get rid of the fleas.
Now, a few days later, their owner needs to check the fleas have gone.
Wee, I'm floating!
He uses a special comb to check the kittens' fur.
I'll have a centre parting, please.
And backcomb the tail, and put some mousse on.
If they still have fleas they'll stick to the comb,
and we'll see them as little black dots.
The comb is clear, so there are no fleas on this kitten.
Hooray! I'm flea, free! I'm flea, free. You try saying that quickly.
Your turn, sis.
At last, I haven't been able to do a thing with my fur, all day.
All the cats are clear. The fleas have fled.
Now, they can play for a bit.
Steady on, I AM trying to get in here.
Shoosh, don't tell him I'm coming. Bundle!
For the kittens, all this play fighting
and exploring is a bit like going to school.
It all looks way more fun than maths and literacy.
They're learning about hunting, chasing and biting.
All the things they'll need to know as adult cats.
We can't wait to grow up and start bringing in dead mice
-and birds for our owners.
Here's another new thing.
The owner is bringing solid food for the first time.
Unsurprisingly, Mum, Coco, doesn't hesitate.
Shift your backside, fella.
The kittens have never seen this kind of food before.
But now it's time to start giving up their mother's milk
and eating proper cat food.
SNIFF SNIFF SNIFF
Yum, yum. Pigs bum. I wonder if it actually is a pig's bum?
I'll join in as soon as I'm the right way up.
Go on, then. I'll give it a go. How bad can it be?
Pff. Pff Pff. Pretty bad. I think I'll ring for a pizza.
Another kitten joins in.
Mum, I can't bite it properly. Can I borrow your teeth?
Wake up, guys. You're missing out!
SLURP SLURP SLURP
This is delish. What's for pudding?
Come on, now. No elbows on the table and no feet on the plates.
I'm walking in it so I can lick my paws later.
This is defo what I'm having for dinner from now on.
Two more kittens join in. Never mind Hungry Hippos.
This is like a game of Hungry Kittens.
Come on, have some manners. Get off the plate.
I like it so much I'm having a bath in it.
Aw. This kitten has woken up too late.
MEOW Sorry, Puss. You snooze, you lose.
There must be something left.
I hate having so many brothers and sisters.
Why wasn't I an only cat?
Luckily, there's always Mum's milk. For now.
And if eating food for the first time wasn't exciting enough,
here's another new thing. A bowl of water.
We're so much more classier than dogs.
Some dirty dogs drink water out of the toilet, though they shouldn't.
After all that food it's a good time to weigh the kittens again.
They're five weeks old and we need to check that they're growing properly.
When we first weighed them... Do you remember? They were tiny,
but look at them now.
I think you're going to need a bigger bowl.
I've just been told off for sitting in a food bowl,
now you want me to sit in one?
Make your mind up.
They're all weighing in at just over 600g which is a pretty
good weight for their age.
Uh, this food bowl's still empty,
and I'm pretty sure we're supposed to be learning about eating.
Then they need another worming.
I'm sure I told you before, I really don't like this.
I almost feel sorry for the worms, getting smothered in this stuff.
Worse thing ever. Period.
This is the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted,
and I clean my bottom with my tongue.
Pft. Pft. Pft. Pft. Woops. Has anyone got a bib?
Have I got any round my mouth? Go on, tell me. Have I?
I'll see if there's any more of that food to take the taste away.
Nom, nom, nom, nom, nom, nom, nom.
After all that excitement the kittens are exhausted
and need some more sleep.
Who knows what's in store for them tomorrow?
But I'm guessing it'll include more eating and sleeping.
We'll see you next time.
