Episode 8 Meet the Kittens

Meow!

THEY ALL MEOW

Meow! Meow!

Last time on Meet The Kittens,

our furry friends were getting used to the litter tray.

They're now eight weeks old

but until they're old enough to go outside, this is their toilet.

But they've got to learn to use it first.

And both mums have been teaching them. Well, trying to.

I'll just do a bit of burying. I don't want anyone seeing that!

Where's the flush?

I'd give it five minutes if I were you.

Has anyone got a newspaper I can read?

That's what the owner does.

Cats are very clean animals

and once they've done a poo, they instinctively know to cover it up

so it's hidden and it doesn't smell.

It's a present for the owner. I hope he likes it.

It looks like something exciting is happening here.

OMG, Santa's come early!

It's a big climbing frame for all the kittens.

This saves us going down the park.

There are three different levels

to keep all 11 kittens interested and excited.

Three levels and 11 kittens -

that's, er, three into 11, that's, er...

a lot of kittens on each level.

The frame will help them exercise their bodies

and strengthen their muscles

And there's a new roly-poly thing,

which appears to be for... trapping kittens?

Help, I'm stuck!

Ta-da! Houdini, eat your heart out.

While the kittens are having fun,

they're also learning to use their claws and how to hunt and chase.

OK, I WAS the king of the castle.

But if you haven't got the room for a big climbing frame, don't worry.

Kittens can play with anything,

and I mean anything.

The edge of a rug...

It's all right but it's not very good at chasing me.

Bagsy this paper bag.

Get off! It's mine.

I'll just file this for you.

You could even pull a shoelace under a rug.

You wait till the owner puts his shoes on and can't tie them up.

I love this. It smells fishy. Tastes fishy too.

And if you have more than one kitten,

they'll happily play together.

You're way more fun than a shoelace.

All right, brothers and sisters, what's up?

Hello, gorgeous, who are you?

The kittens are trying to figure out how this mirror works.

If you don't stop copying everything I do, there'll be trouble.

Now it's talking back to me.

Wow, a friend exactly like me

and twice as many balls as I thought.

Maybe Mum Cleo will be as excited as her kittens.

On reflection, maybe she won't.

They still haven't worked it out yet.

I think there's more kittens behind here.

This is the most fascinating thing I've ever...

Oh, there's something happening over there.

Look at me, I am one cool cat.

A fan is just one of the many things in the home

the kittens are going to have to get used to.

There will be noises like a slamming door...

That might be the man delivering the food.

There'll be strange sounds when you turn on the TV.

If this is Scooby-Doo, I'm out of here.

What about a boiling kettle?

That noise is coming from the kitchen, where they keep the food.

Or a funny doorbell sound?

That's definitely the man delivering the food.

And remember the Hoover?

CATS YOWL

There may even be strange sights like a fish in a tank.

Don't worry about food. I think I've found dinner.

We're waiting until everyone goes to sleep

and then we're going to eat that fish.

The fish are still awake and, more importantly, still uneaten.

But gradually, everyone does get to sleep.

For now, the kittens can only dream of eating fish.

I wonder what Coco, Cleo and the 11 kittens

will get up to next time.

Let's hope it doesn't involve that poor fish.
