I remember when my mum brought home my very first puppy.

Puppies are hard to look after, you know.

Well, I had to learn everything in this puppy book

before my mum would let me have one.

-Evie, what's happened to Mike?

-Quick! Try again, Evie!

-It's no use! He won't keep still!

-Now he's chewing that slipper.

If we feed him he'll keep still while he's eating -

He's not pretending, Sparkie, he really is a puppy.

SPARKIE GASPS A puppy? How?

It was a spell but now he's still I'm going to turn him back.

No! Now I've turned Sparkie into a puppy too!

I would if only they'd keep still for a second.

Maybe the puppy book will tell us what to do.

I can work out how to control these puppies by myself. Hmm. Leads!

That's what we need to keep them still!

Oh, I know where a couple are.

-Queen Martha keeps them in Galahad's stable.

-Huzzah! Come on!

MIKE AND SPARKIE BARK

It's OK, Galahad, Evie's just turned Mike and Sparkie into puppies.

This will change them back as soon as we get them still.

GALAHAD WHINNIES

Oh, no! They must think it's walkies.

-Whoops. Maybe now we should look at the puppy book.

-I'm sure I don't need it.

-That's it! Yip and Yap love fetching this toy, don't they?

Let's play fetch with Mike and Sparkie.

Throw the toy and then when they bring it, they'll be still

It says to call your puppy you can use a special dog whistle

that only dogs can hear. But we haven't got one of those.

Only Yip and Yap heard this whistle before.

It worked! But it's only Yip and Yap.

Aagh! He won't let go! What does the book say?

I'll try that.

After all these years, you're still hard work sometimes.
