and lots of colourful ribbons. | 0:01:51 | 0:01:53
Let's make it! | 0:01:53 | 0:01:55
Now we're going to need a Mini Maker to help us. | 0:01:58 | 0:02:02
Let's see if there's one nearby. | 0:02:02 | 0:02:05
Hello, Mini Makers. | 0:02:05 | 0:02:07
Now who's going to help me today? | 0:02:07 | 0:02:09
Hi, Mister Maker, I am Yasmin. | 0:02:09 | 0:02:12
Oh, hello, Yasmin. | 0:02:12 | 0:02:14
I can help you. | 0:02:14 | 0:02:16
Oh, that's good news. | 0:02:16 | 0:02:18
Everyone else, thank you very much. | 0:02:18 | 0:02:20
We'll see you soon. | 0:02:20 | 0:02:21
But, Yasmin, let's get making. | 0:02:21 | 0:02:24
Oh, brilliant. | 0:02:24 | 0:02:26
Yasmin is on her way to help us make our picture. | 0:02:26 | 0:02:30
But first, we'll need somewhere to make it. | 0:02:30 | 0:02:32
Oh, brilliant. | 0:02:38 | 0:02:39
The Marvellous Maker Case | 0:02:39 | 0:02:41
has become a marvellous making table! | 0:02:41 | 0:02:44
Now we just need some arty things to make our picture. | 0:02:44 | 0:02:48
We'll need some paper or card. | 0:02:48 | 0:02:52
Now, we'll also need... | 0:02:52 | 0:02:55
..lots of lovely ribbons. | 0:02:59 | 0:03:02
Some glitter. | 0:03:06 | 0:03:08
A glue stick. Some scissors. | 0:03:10 | 0:03:13
We'll also need, of course... | 0:03:13 | 0:03:16
..an egg. | 0:03:17 | 0:03:18
-An egg?! We don't need an egg! -Hey! | 0:03:19 | 0:03:23
Scraps, it's you! | 0:03:23 | 0:03:24
How did you get here? | 0:03:24 | 0:03:26
SCRAPS CHATTERS | 0:03:26 | 0:03:28
Well, take this egg back. Open up. | 0:03:28 | 0:03:30
But we do need some stars, please. | 0:03:30 | 0:03:32
Sparkly stars. | 0:03:32 | 0:03:33
See if you can...find some. | 0:03:33 | 0:03:35
Be careful with that... | 0:03:35 | 0:03:36
-CRUNCH -Wagh! | 0:03:36 | 0:03:37
..egg. (Oh, no!) | 0:03:37 | 0:03:40
Oh, brilliant. Well done, Scraps. | 0:03:40 | 0:03:42
That's fantastic. Just what we need. | 0:03:42 | 0:03:45
Thank you. | 0:03:45 | 0:03:47
We've got some sparkly stars. | 0:03:48 | 0:03:51
Excellent! | 0:03:53 | 0:03:55
We've got everything we need. | 0:03:55 | 0:03:57
Although, it does feel like something's missing. | 0:03:57 | 0:04:02
Do you know what it is? | 0:04:02 | 0:04:04
I'm here, Mister Maker. | 0:04:06 | 0:04:08
Of course - Yasmin! | 0:04:08 | 0:04:10
It's lovely to see you, my friend. | 0:04:10 | 0:04:12
Thank you for coming. | 0:04:12 | 0:04:13
You're just in time to help me make some ribbon art. | 0:04:13 | 0:04:18
Like this lovely picture here - it's an explosion of colour. | 0:04:18 | 0:04:22
Now, are you ready, Yasmin? | 0:04:22 | 0:04:24
-Yes. -Good. | 0:04:24 | 0:04:25
Are you ready? | 0:04:25 | 0:04:27
Fantastic. | 0:04:27 | 0:04:28
Let's get making. | 0:04:28 | 0:04:30
Now, Yasmin, the first thing we need is some thick paper, or thin card. | 0:04:30 | 0:04:35
This will be the background. | 0:04:35 | 0:04:37
Now we need a glue stick. | 0:04:37 | 0:04:39
Thank you, Yasmin. Lovely. | 0:04:39 | 0:04:42
We're going to make a very wiggly sticky line. | 0:04:42 | 0:04:45
Put lots of glue on... | 0:04:45 | 0:04:47
And you can make this line as wiggly as you like. | 0:04:49 | 0:04:54
There we are. | 0:04:54 | 0:04:57
Lovely. | 0:04:57 | 0:04:58
Yasmin, can you find me some glitter, please? | 0:04:58 | 0:05:01
-Oh, what colour is that? -Purple. | 0:05:01 | 0:05:04
Purple. That's a great choice. | 0:05:04 | 0:05:06
Sprinkle your glitter all over the sticky line. | 0:05:07 | 0:05:11
Now, if we shake off the glitter, this happens. | 0:05:14 | 0:05:18
We've got a very wiggly, glittery line. | 0:05:21 | 0:05:25
You can make as many gluey, glittery lines as you like. | 0:05:25 | 0:05:29
Now it's time to find some ribbon. | 0:05:32 | 0:05:34
Yasmin, can you please choose a piece of ribbon? | 0:05:34 | 0:05:38
Oh, yes, that is a good choice. | 0:05:38 | 0:05:40
-What colour's this? -Green. | 0:05:40 | 0:05:42
Green, that's right. | 0:05:42 | 0:05:43
Now, why don't you grab the glue stick for me, | 0:05:43 | 0:05:47
and put some dabs of glue on the back of the ribbon. | 0:05:47 | 0:05:51
Well done. | 0:05:55 | 0:05:56
And now we can stick this ribbon anywhere we like. | 0:05:56 | 0:06:00
It looks really good | 0:06:01 | 0:06:03
if you twist the ribbon | 0:06:03 | 0:06:05
and make it cross through the glittery lines. | 0:06:05 | 0:06:10
To make it look really special, | 0:06:13 | 0:06:15
use different coloured ribbons | 0:06:15 | 0:06:17
and stick them across each other like this. | 0:06:17 | 0:06:19
Stick down as many pieces of ribbon as you like, | 0:06:19 | 0:06:23
and then carefully cut off the extra ribbon at the edges. | 0:06:23 | 0:06:27
Now we need some sparkly stars. | 0:06:27 | 0:06:30
Oh, yes, a nice red one. | 0:06:30 | 0:06:33
Now, you can stick your stars wherever you like. | 0:06:33 | 0:06:36
But why not stick them in the middle of your picture, | 0:06:36 | 0:06:39
so it looks like the stars are bursting out | 0:06:39 | 0:06:42
from all of the ribbons. | 0:06:42 | 0:06:44
Stick down lots of stars, and we've finished, Yasmin! | 0:06:44 | 0:06:48
It's some beautiful ribbon art. | 0:06:48 | 0:06:51
And if you enjoyed that, why not try some other ideas too. | 0:06:51 | 0:06:54
How about using spotty ribbons on a spotty, swirly pattern? | 0:06:54 | 0:07:00
Or you could even try using animal print ribbons, | 0:07:01 | 0:07:05
with gold stars and glitter. | 0:07:05 | 0:07:07
Why don't you try one of those pictures today? | 0:07:07 | 0:07:10
Thank you so much for helping me, Yasmin. | 0:07:10 | 0:07:13
BOTH: We made it! | 0:07:13 | 0:07:15
High-five? | 0:07:15 | 0:07:16
Great work, my friend. | 0:07:16 | 0:07:18
Brilliant ribbon art. | 0:07:18 | 0:07:21
Well done, Yasmin. Bye. | 0:07:21 | 0:07:23
Oh! | 0:07:25 | 0:07:26 | |
After a busy day travelling the world, | 0:07:26 | 0:07:28
you have to take a break and have a drink of water. | 0:07:28 | 0:07:31
SQUEAKING | 0:07:33 | 0:07:34
What's that noise? | 0:07:34 | 0:07:36
It's coming from the Marvellous Maker Case. | 0:07:36 | 0:07:38
Can you hear that? | 0:07:38 | 0:07:40
WHOOSH | 0:07:40 | 0:07:42
It's the Shapes! | 0:07:43 | 0:07:44
They're off on their journey around the world. | 0:07:44 | 0:07:47
ALL: # I am a shape! | 0:07:51 | 0:07:53
# I am a circle | 0:07:56 | 0:07:59

# I am a square | 0:08:05 | 0:08:07

# I am a shape | 0:08:33 | 0:08:35
# I am a rectangle. # | 0:08:42 | 0:08:44
What are the rectangles making today? | 0:08:47 | 0:08:49
Can you guess? | 0:08:52 | 0:08:55
What could it be? | 0:08:58 | 0:09:00
Oh! It's a goat. | 0:09:02 | 0:09:05
BLEATING | 0:09:05 | 0:09:07
Well done, Shapes. | 0:09:07 | 0:09:08
It's time to get back in the Marvellous Maker Case. | 0:09:08 | 0:09:11
WHOOPING | 0:09:11 | 0:09:14
Oh, I love it here in Hong Kong. | 0:09:21 | 0:09:23
I've had such a fantastic time. | 0:09:23 | 0:09:26
PHONE RINGS | 0:09:26 | 0:09:28
The Maker Phone is ringing. Excuse me. | 0:09:28 | 0:09:31
Oh, it's Tocky. | 0:09:31 | 0:09:32
It's Minute Make Time. | 0:09:32 | 0:09:35
-It's South Africa. -Thanks, Tocky! | 0:09:35 | 0:09:37
I'm on my way. | 0:09:37 | 0:09:39
Here we go. | 0:09:39 | 0:09:41
-It's minute-make time! -CHEERING | 0:10:01 | 0:10:04
Let's see what we're going to make today. Let's have a look. | 0:10:04 | 0:10:08
Oh! | 0:10:08 | 0:10:09 | |
Hello. | 0:10:09 | 0:10:11
Let's have a look over here. | 0:10:11 | 0:10:12
I've spotted it, my friends! | 0:10:14 | 0:10:16
Look at this. | 0:10:16 | 0:10:17
The rarest of all creatures - | 0:10:17 | 0:10:19
the plastic spoon creature! | 0:10:19 | 0:10:22
And we can make one of those by using these arty things. | 0:10:22 | 0:10:26
Let's have a look - two plastic spoons, | 0:10:26 | 0:10:29
one, two, three, four pipe cleaners, | 0:10:29 | 0:10:32
some stickers, | 0:10:32 | 0:10:34
and a pen. | 0:10:34 | 0:10:35
Now, do you think it is possible to make this | 0:10:36 | 0:10:39
plastic spoon creature in just one minute? | 0:10:39 | 0:10:42
ALL: No way! | 0:10:42 | 0:10:44
Well, I think I can. | 0:10:44 | 0:10:46
I am going to have to be... very quick! | 0:10:46 | 0:10:49
But don't worry, I'll remind you how to do it...at the end. | 0:10:49 | 0:10:53
Are you ready? | 0:10:53 | 0:10:54
ALL: yes! | 0:10:54 | 0:10:55
Good, good. But are YOU ready? | 0:10:55 | 0:10:58
Fantastic. Let's make it in a minute. | 0:10:58 | 0:11:01
ALL: Three, two, one! | 0:11:01 | 0:11:03
Start the clock! | 0:11:03 | 0:11:04
First, we put teaspoons together - | 0:11:04 | 0:11:07
so the spoons are facing away from each other. | 0:11:07 | 0:11:09
Then we use a pipe cleaner to fix them together like that. | 0:11:09 | 0:11:14
Wrap it round. | 0:11:14 | 0:11:16
That's looking good. | 0:11:16 | 0:11:18
Now we get another pipe cleaner to make some legs. | 0:11:18 | 0:11:20
Just wind them round... | 0:11:20 | 0:11:22
and then bend them into leg shapes. | 0:11:22 | 0:11:24
There's two legs... | 0:11:24 | 0:11:26
we have two pipe cleaners left. | 0:11:26 | 0:11:28
There's some more legs. | 0:11:28 | 0:11:30
There we go. | 0:11:30 | 0:11:32
Our plastic spoon creature is going to have six legs. | 0:11:32 | 0:11:35
There we go - very wiggly legs | 0:11:35 | 0:11:37
like that. | 0:11:37 | 0:11:39
Bend them into shape | 0:11:39 | 0:11:40
and now get some stickers | 0:11:40 | 0:11:43
and draw dots in the middle like this. | 0:11:43 | 0:11:46
To make the pupils of the eyes. | 0:11:47 | 0:11:49
Now stick these stickers on | 0:11:49 | 0:11:52
to the front of our plastic spoon creature. | 0:11:52 | 0:11:55
There's one. | 0:11:57 | 0:11:58
We've just got enough time to stick this one on! | 0:11:59 | 0:12:01
There - we've made a plastic spoon creature! | 0:12:01 | 0:12:05
BELL RINGS | 0:12:05 | 0:12:06
ALL: Yay! | 0:12:06 | 0:12:08
I did it. Just in time! | 0:12:08 | 0:12:12
But if you have got more than a minute, | 0:12:12 | 0:12:14
you could try all sorts of ideas. | 0:12:14 | 0:12:16
How about a multi-coloured spoon creature, | 0:12:16 | 0:12:19
made with spotty stickers | 0:12:19 | 0:12:21
and a curly pipe cleaner tongue? | 0:12:21 | 0:12:24
Or what about this fabulous orange scorpion, | 0:12:24 | 0:12:27
with a fork for a tail? | 0:12:27 | 0:12:29
Or you could even try a baby spoon creature | 0:12:29 | 0:12:32
with beads for eyes on pipe cleaner stalks. | 0:12:32 | 0:12:35
Aw! | 0:12:35 | 0:12:37 | |
Why don't you try and make it in a minute? | 0:12:37 | 0:12:40
Here's a reminder of how to do it. | 0:12:40 | 0:12:43
Let's go back to the beginning and take another look. | 0:12:43 | 0:12:47
twist a pipe cleaner around two plastic spoon, like this. | 0:12:47 | 0:12:51
Twist three more pipe cleaners around the spoons to make legs. | 0:12:51 | 0:12:56
Add two white stickers with black dots for eyes. | 0:12:56 | 0:12:58
And your plastic spoon creature is finished! | 0:13:00 | 0:13:03
Why don't you try and make it in a minute? | 0:13:06 | 0:13:09
Thank you so much, everyone, | 0:13:09 | 0:13:11
for being part of another marvellous Minute Make. | 0:13:11 | 0:13:13
CHEERING | 0:13:13 | 0:13:16
What's this? | 0:13:25 | 0:13:26
It's a Mini Maker postcard. | 0:13:26 | 0:13:29

colouring pencils, and felt tip. | 0:13:56 | 0:14:00
I hope you like it, Mister Maker. | 0:14:00 | 0:14:02

Oh, I would love to. I will be with you for a high-five in | 0:14:24 | 0:14:27
five... | 0:14:27 | 0:14:29
four... | 0:14:29 | 0:14:32
three... | 0:14:32 | 0:14:34
two... | 0:14:34 | 0:14:36
one. | 0:14:36 | 0:14:38 | |
We're in the UK! | 0:14:38 | 0:14:40
I made it! I told you I would. | 0:14:42 | 0:14:44
Right, everyone. Let's get some high-fives. | 0:14:44 | 0:14:48
Now, what picture would you like to make? | 0:14:48 | 0:14:51
ALL: An icy picture. | 0:14:51 | 0:14:54
Good idea. | 0:14:54 | 0:14:55
What's going to be in the icy picture? | 0:14:55 | 0:14:57
Igloos. | 0:14:57 | 0:14:58
Igloos! | 0:14:58 | 0:14:59
Mm. Very good. | 0:14:59 | 0:15:01
Seals. | 0:15:01 | 0:15:02
Seals, that's a really good idea. | 0:15:02 | 0:15:04
What do seals sound like? | 0:15:04 | 0:15:06
THEY ALL MAKE BARKING NOISES | 0:15:06 | 0:15:11
Super seals, everybody. | 0:15:13 | 0:15:15
I think we are ready, aren't we? | 0:15:15 | 0:15:17
ALL: Yes! | 0:15:17 | 0:15:18
Let's make it together. | 0:15:18 | 0:15:20
ALL: We're making a seal. | 0:15:23 | 0:15:25
These are the snowy mountains. | 0:15:27 | 0:15:30
And these are our icy blocks. | 0:15:31 | 0:15:34
These ones are cool, aren't they? | 0:15:36 | 0:15:39
And we'll need a nice frosty background. | 0:15:39 | 0:15:42
We're having a great time making our big picture. | 0:15:50 | 0:15:52
Look, there are igloos everywhere. | 0:15:52 | 0:15:54
And that's just given me an idea. | 0:15:54 | 0:15:57
Why don't you make something too? | 0:15:57 | 0:15:59
Why not make your own incredibly useful igloo? | 0:15:59 | 0:16:04
You will need | 0:16:05 | 0:16:06
a cardboard tube and scissors, | 0:16:06 | 0:16:09
a clean plastic bowl and sticky tape, | 0:16:09 | 0:16:11
pieces of tissue paper and gloopy glue, | 0:16:11 | 0:16:15
paint and a paint brush, | 0:16:15 | 0:16:17
a foil plate and cotton wool, | 0:16:17 | 0:16:19
kitchen scourers, | 0:16:19 | 0:16:21
a clean plant spray, | 0:16:21 | 0:16:23
and an old toy. | 0:16:23 | 0:16:25
Start by carefully cutting the cardboard tube down the middle, | 0:16:25 | 0:16:30
then open it out a little - like this. | 0:16:30 | 0:16:32
Now, ask an adult to help you find a clean plastic bowl | 0:16:32 | 0:16:36
and stick the cut tube onto the side of it with sticky tape | 0:16:36 | 0:16:40
to make a igloo shape. | 0:16:40 | 0:16:42
Then cover everything with pieces of tissue paper and gloopy glue, | 0:16:43 | 0:16:47
and leave it to dry. | 0:16:47 | 0:16:48
Now use white paint to cover your igloo with icy blocks. | 0:16:50 | 0:16:56
Glue cotton wool all over the foil plate like this, | 0:16:56 | 0:17:01
and place the igloo in the middle. | 0:17:01 | 0:17:03
Then, tear tree shapes out of the kitchen scourers. | 0:17:06 | 0:17:11
If you find this tricky, ask an adult to help you. | 0:17:11 | 0:17:14
Push the trees into the gaps of the cotton wool. | 0:17:14 | 0:17:18
And, if you've got one, why not add an animal toy. | 0:17:20 | 0:17:24
For a finishing touch of extra snow, ask an adult to help you mix | 0:17:26 | 0:17:30
watery white paint and put it into a plant sprayer. | 0:17:30 | 0:17:35
Spray the mixture all over the igloo and the trees. | 0:17:35 | 0:17:38
Your incredible igloo is finished, | 0:17:40 | 0:17:43
complete with a secret compartment for storing special things. | 0:17:43 | 0:17:47
What a good idea. Why don't you try it? | 0:17:50 | 0:17:54
But right now, let's see how our big picture's coming along. | 0:17:54 | 0:17:58
Oh, yes! | 0:17:58 | 0:18:00
Good work, Mini Makers! | 0:18:00 | 0:18:02

ALL: We made it together! | 0:18:17 | 0:18:18
ALL: Yay! | 0:18:20 | 0:18:23
Brrr! That looks cold! | 0:18:25 | 0:18:28
But the seals look really happy. | 0:18:28 | 0:18:29
