How to paint with a sponge, eh? That's a tricky one.

I think that a walk in the fresh air really helps to clear your head.

A big piece of paper, and some paper plates.

And we also need some more sponges.

And we need some bottles of squirty paint!

So, Ruby, this is what we're going to make today.

It's a circle sponge picture! Ha ha!

-What do you think about that? Good?

-Yeah.

-So are you ready?

Brilliant! Are YOU ready?

Great! Let's get making.

First, we need to get our paint ready.

Now, you can use whatever colour you like,

but we're going to use purple, green and yellow.

Ruby, you can help me here.

We need to squirt out this paint on to some paper plates.

-Will you help me with that?

-Yeah.

Excellent! Thank you! Right, here we go.

Now, can you start off by squirting some yellow paint

on to here, please?

And some green?

And some purple.

Well done, Ruby. Now we're ready to start painting!

So we've got a nice big piece of paper here,

but remember first to put down some old paper or newspaper,

because this can get a little bit messy.

Ha! All right, let's start, then.

Let's find our first round object. That's the glue stick lid.

And we're going to push it into the yellow paint

like that. And then we're going to place it

in the middle of our picture.

Now I'm going to leave that there and pick up a sponge...

and I'm going to dip it into a different colour this time, Ruby.

I think the green. Like that.

And then, holding the glue stick lid with one hand,

dab paint around the edge of it to make a circle.

Now remember, your round objects are going to get messy

so make sure you ask an adult before using them.

And if you take the lid away...

Look! The green paint has gone everywhere, Ruby,

apart from where the glue stick was.

Now let's make a bigger circle in a different colour

around the outside using a bigger object like this plastic cup.

Now we're going to keep going like this in the same way

using bigger and bigger objects each time.

And remember to use a different colour each time as well,

to give you a really colourful effect.

It's brilliant! Have a look at this.

You might be thinking this is just a terrific turtle.

But actually, it's much more. If you open up

his lid, it becomes a turtle treasure chest!

Perfect for storing all your secret treasures.

Now, to make one of these, you will need...

some coloured paper, some scissors, a glue stick, a pen,

a paper bowl, some stickers and a round cheese box.

Now, do you think it's possible to make this turtle treasure chest

in just one minute?

-No way!

-Well, let's find out. I'll have to be very quick,

but don't worry, I'll remind you how to do it at the end.

Are you ready?

Great. Let's make it in a minute!

Three, two, one...

Start the clock!

Let's get our coloured paper, we'll fold it in half,

then fold both sides in on each other.

Right. Now, starting at this open end here,

I'll cut a rough egg shape.

You have to be careful when you use scissors,

Let's see what we've got here.

One, two, three, four, five.

Perfect, we've got a spare one.

Let's get some glue on here. Bit of glue there,

Let's get our paper bowl and push this on,

Let's get some white stickers and put them on,

these will be the eyes of our turtle.

They also need some black dots on them, there we go.

We need our cheese box, let's put some glue on that.

Stick the turtle on top and we've got our turtle treasure chest!

and stickers to decorate your turtle.

with a swirly painted shell and eyes on pipe cleaner stalks.

Or you could even try this one. A lovely ladybird

with a fun fur shell and a pink tongue.

Why not have a go? Here's a reminder of how to do it.

Let's go back to the beginning and take another look.

Fold the paper in half,

and fold both sides in, like this.

Carefully cut an egg shape, starting at the open end.

Glue five of the egg shapes onto a paper bowl.

Add stickers for eyes on one of the egg shapes.

And add pupils with a pen.

Stick everything down onto the top of a cheese box,

and your turtle treasure chest is finished!

Don't forget, we need some tasty looking ice creams and lollies.

We're having great fun making our big ice cream van.

Why not try making something at home?

Try making a brilliant ice cream pencil.

Make it, play with it, have fun with it!

To make one, you will need some cardboard, a brown pen,

a thin sponge, a cup, scissors and glue,

craft foam and brown card

and a pencil.

First, draw a cone shape onto the piece of cardboard with a brown pen.

Next, draw around a cup onto the thin sponge

to make a circle.

And carefully cut everything out.

Stick the circle on top of the cone.

Then, cut up tiny pieces of craft foam or coloured paper,

and stick them onto your ice cream for toppings.

You can even make a flaky chocolate stick, using bumpy card.

Carefully cut out a thin rectangle,

and stick it to the back of the ice cream.

Add some extra details onto the cone with a brown pen.

And now, fix a pencil to the back of the ice cream cone with sticky tape.

Your ice cream pencil is finished and ready to write with!

Ha-ha! Writing with an ice cream. Why don't you try it?

-Grass!

Grass? Great, let me help!
