Hello! Brilliant to see you. I'm out and about in the Makermobile. | 0:00:48 | 0:00:52
It's so much fun. You never know what you're going to see. | 0:00:52 | 0:00:57
Tocky, here. | 0:00:57 | 0:00:59

Hello, I'm Sam. | 0:01:01 | 0:01:02
Hello, Sam. Can I help you today? | 0:01:02 | 0:01:05
Yes, please, Mister Maker. | 0:01:05 | 0:01:07
I'll be there as fast as I can. | 0:01:07 | 0:01:09
I'm here. | 0:01:25 | 0:01:26
Hello, Sam. It's lovely to meet you. | 0:01:30 | 0:01:34
How can I help you today? | 0:01:34 | 0:01:35
Can we make a picture that looks like it's outdoors? | 0:01:35 | 0:01:38
A picture that looks like it's outdoors. That's a great idea! | 0:01:38 | 0:01:43
And we've come to the right place. | 0:01:43 | 0:01:45
The great outdoors is a great place to make things and have fun. | 0:01:45 | 0:01:49
Talking of having fun, do you fancy a game of hide-and-seek? | 0:01:49 | 0:01:53
Yes, please! | 0:01:53 | 0:01:54
OK, I must warn you, you will NEVER find me. | 0:01:54 | 0:01:58
I am the best at hide-and-seek. Close your eyes and start counting. | 0:01:58 | 0:02:02
One, two, three, four, five. | 0:02:02 | 0:02:06
Ready or not, here I come! | 0:02:06 | 0:02:08
(I'm over here.) | 0:02:08 | 0:02:11
Ssh. Hee-hee! | 0:02:11 | 0:02:15
Found you! | 0:02:15 | 0:02:17
Oh, Sam! I can't believe you found me. | 0:02:17 | 0:02:21
I was taking such great care to hide. | 0:02:21 | 0:02:24
And my face was only just peeping out from behind these leaves. | 0:02:24 | 0:02:29
Wait a minute, Sam. | 0:02:29 | 0:02:32
Ha-ha! | 0:02:32 | 0:02:33
This has just given me a great idea. | 0:02:33 | 0:02:36
Let's try something. | 0:02:36 | 0:02:38
Try making a peeping picture | 0:02:41 | 0:02:44
of creatures hiding in the great outdoors. | 0:02:44 | 0:02:47
BOTH: Let's make it! | 0:02:47 | 0:02:49
But first, we'll need somewhere to make it. | 0:02:49 | 0:02:52
And we'll also need some things from the Doodle Drawers. | 0:02:55 | 0:02:59
I'll be back soon. | 0:02:59 | 0:03:01
Some coloured paper. | 0:03:03 | 0:03:06
A pen and a glue stick. | 0:03:11 | 0:03:13
We also need some sticky dots. | 0:03:15 | 0:03:19
I know I put them round here somewhere. Maybe Scraps can help. | 0:03:19 | 0:03:23
HONK | 0:03:23 | 0:03:24 | |
Hello, Scraps. Ooh, are you OK? You look terrible. | 0:03:25 | 0:03:29
SCRAPS SPEAKS | 0:03:29 | 0:03:31
You're OK, but you have spots all over your face. | 0:03:31 | 0:03:33
SCRAPS SPEAKS | 0:03:33 | 0:03:35
Oh, they're sticky dots. | 0:03:35 | 0:03:38
Can we have some, please? | 0:03:38 | 0:03:40
Thank you. | 0:03:40 | 0:03:42
Well done, Scraps. Thank you. | 0:03:42 | 0:03:44
-SCRAPS SPEAKS -See ya! | 0:03:44 | 0:03:47
And we also need a piece of paper or card. | 0:03:51 | 0:03:55
OK, Sam. Let's make a peeping picture, like this one here | 0:03:55 | 0:04:00
of creatures peeping out of a leafy jungle. | 0:04:00 | 0:04:03
Fantastic. | 0:04:03 | 0:04:05
-All right then, Sam. Are you ready? -Yes. | 0:04:05 | 0:04:07
Brilliant! Are YOU ready? | 0:04:07 | 0:04:10
Wonderful! Let's get making. | 0:04:10 | 0:04:13
The first thing we're going to do is tear up our coloured paper | 0:04:13 | 0:04:18
into the shape of leaves and bushes. | 0:04:18 | 0:04:23
You can help me with this, Sam. Let's get tearing. | 0:04:23 | 0:04:28
Here are all of our shapes. | 0:04:33 | 0:04:36
I'm going to leave these over here with you, Sam. | 0:04:36 | 0:04:40
Because it's time to bring in | 0:04:40 | 0:04:42
a sheet of dark paper | 0:04:42 | 0:04:44
and we're going to arrange all our leaves and bushes | 0:04:44 | 0:04:47
and glue them down. Can you help me, Sam? | 0:04:47 | 0:04:50
-Yes. -OK, then. | 0:04:50 | 0:04:52
Thank you very much. | 0:04:59 | 0:05:01
And carry on until all of your pieces are stuck down. | 0:05:01 | 0:05:07
And now you should have gaps in between the leaves | 0:05:08 | 0:05:13
and here in the middle of the paper. | 0:05:13 | 0:05:16
You'll see why in a minute. | 0:05:16 | 0:05:18
But first of all, we need to take a pen | 0:05:18 | 0:05:21
and we're going to draw around the edges | 0:05:21 | 0:05:24
of our leaves and our bushes to really make them stand out. | 0:05:24 | 0:05:29
Now we need to draw dots onto lots of white stickers to make... | 0:05:31 | 0:05:36
-Eyes! -Eyes. | 0:05:36 | 0:05:37
That's right. So I think you can do this, Sam. | 0:05:37 | 0:05:42
Well done, Sam. | 0:05:52 | 0:05:53
Now we need to stick them in the gaps | 0:05:53 | 0:05:56
to make the eyes of the hiding creatures | 0:05:56 | 0:05:58
peeping out from behind the leaves. | 0:05:58 | 0:06:01
There! We're all finished. | 0:06:01 | 0:06:04
It's a wonderful peeping picture. | 0:06:04 | 0:06:07
You can make all kinds of peeping pictures. | 0:06:07 | 0:06:10
How about creatures peeping out of a torn paper cave? | 0:06:10 | 0:06:14
Or you could try a torn paper castle, | 0:06:14 | 0:06:18
with a paper moat and drawbridge. | 0:06:18 | 0:06:20
Or you could even make an underwater shipwreck, | 0:06:20 | 0:06:24
made out of cardboard, torn tissue paper and coloured paper. | 0:06:24 | 0:06:28
Peeping pictures - try one today! | 0:06:28 | 0:06:30
Did you enjoy making your outdoor picture? | 0:06:30 | 0:06:33
-Yes! -Brilliant! | 0:06:33 | 0:06:35
We made it, and now your home is where the ART is. | 0:06:35 | 0:06:38
High five! | 0:06:38 | 0:06:39
Ha-ha! Well done. | 0:06:39 | 0:06:41
What a perfect peeping picture! | 0:06:43 | 0:06:45
Great work, Sam. Bye! | 0:06:45 | 0:06:49
It's brilliant being out and about in the Makermobile. | 0:06:50 | 0:06:54
There's always so much to see and do. And... | 0:06:54 | 0:06:59
What's that noise? | 0:06:59 | 0:07:01
Who could it be? | 0:07:03 | 0:07:04
Woo! Hey! Yeah! | 0:07:07 | 0:07:09
# I am a shape | 0:07:11 | 0:07:15
# I am a shape | 0:07:17 | 0:07:19
# I am a circle | 0:07:21 | 0:07:23
# I am a triangle | 0:07:25 | 0:07:28
# I am a square | 0:07:30 | 0:07:33
# I am a rectangle | 0:07:36 | 0:07:38
# I am a shape | 0:07:45 | 0:07:49
# I am a shape | 0:07:50 | 0:07:53
# I am a shape | 0:07:55 | 0:07:58
# I am a shape | 0:07:59 | 0:08:02
# I am a circle. # | 0:08:07 | 0:08:10
What are the circles making today? | 0:08:14 | 0:08:16
Can you guess? | 0:08:24 | 0:08:26
It's an owl. | 0:08:29 | 0:08:30
Well done, Shapes. | 0:08:30 | 0:08:32
It's time to get back in the Doodle Drawers. | 0:08:32 | 0:08:36
Hee-hee-hee! | 0:08:38 | 0:08:41
This is a lovely day for a drive out in the Makermobile, isn't it? | 0:08:45 | 0:08:50
Minute-make time! | 0:08:50 | 0:08:52
Hey, it's minute-make time! I'm on my way. | 0:08:52 | 0:08:56
Here we are. | 0:09:08 | 0:09:10
It's minute-make time, everyone! | 0:09:15 | 0:09:17
CROWD: Yeah! | 0:09:17 | 0:09:20
Oh, no. Look at my poor plant. | 0:09:20 | 0:09:24
Its leaves are all sad and floppy. | 0:09:24 | 0:09:27
I've just had a great idea. | 0:09:30 | 0:09:32
I'm going to cheer my plant up by making him a friend. | 0:09:32 | 0:09:36
I'm going to make one of these. | 0:09:36 | 0:09:38
It's a plant pal. Look at him. He's very funny, and very useful, too. | 0:09:38 | 0:09:43
Because you can keep plants inside plant pals. | 0:09:43 | 0:09:47
And you can make it in just one minute. By using these things. | 0:09:47 | 0:09:51
Some stickers, some craft foam, | 0:09:51 | 0:09:54
a pair of scissors, a pen, a glue stick, | 0:09:54 | 0:09:58
An empty plant pot, some sticky tape. | 0:09:58 | 0:10:01
Oh, and of course we also need a plant. | 0:10:01 | 0:10:04
Do you think it's possible to make this plant pal in just one minute? | 0:10:05 | 0:10:11
CROWD: No way! | 0:10:11 | 0:10:13
Well, let's find out. I'm going to have to be very quick. | 0:10:13 | 0:10:17
But don't worry. I'll remind you how to do it at the end. Are you ready? | 0:10:17 | 0:10:21
CROWD: Yes! | 0:10:21 | 0:10:23
Are you ready? Brilliant! | 0:10:23 | 0:10:26
Let's make it in a minute. | 0:10:26 | 0:10:28
CROWD: Three, two, one, go! | 0:10:28 | 0:10:31
Start the clock! | 0:10:31 | 0:10:32
First we get our circle of craft foam | 0:10:32 | 0:10:35
and carefully cut it in half. | 0:10:35 | 0:10:37
-We need to be careful because scissors are... -Sharp! | 0:10:37 | 0:10:40
That's right. We draw on some detail with a black pen. | 0:10:40 | 0:10:43
Let's get some sticky tape. | 0:10:43 | 0:10:46
We're going to stick these ears onto our pot. | 0:10:46 | 0:10:50
Here we go. one of these goes on that side. | 0:10:50 | 0:10:54
Then we'll put the other ear on that side, like that. | 0:10:54 | 0:10:58
Let's give him some eyes. | 0:10:58 | 0:11:00
we're going to use these black dots | 0:11:00 | 0:11:03
in the middle of white stickers for eyes. There we go. | 0:11:03 | 0:11:08
Let's stick one of these over here. | 0:11:08 | 0:11:11
We can stick the other one on the other side, like that. | 0:11:11 | 0:11:15
Now we get some more craft foam and fold it in half | 0:11:15 | 0:11:19
and cut out a moustache shape. | 0:11:19 | 0:11:21
It's a pointy shape, like that. | 0:11:21 | 0:11:23
Then I'm going to use some glue to stick it in place. | 0:11:23 | 0:11:27
Then we can stick it on | 0:11:27 | 0:11:31
to our lovely plant pal. | 0:11:31 | 0:11:33
CROWD: Yeah! | 0:11:33 | 0:11:35
Phew! just in time. | 0:11:36 | 0:11:38
All we need to do now is pop in the plant. | 0:11:38 | 0:11:41
Fantastic! Look, my plant is much happier now. | 0:11:44 | 0:11:48
And if you've got more than a minute, | 0:11:48 | 0:11:51
you can try all sorts of ideas. | 0:11:51 | 0:11:53
How about this one, with orange eyebrows, a moustache | 0:11:53 | 0:11:56
and a pom-pom nose? | 0:11:56 | 0:11:58
Or you could even try making a glamorous plant pal, | 0:11:58 | 0:12:02
with glittery glasses and lips. | 0:12:02 | 0:12:04
Plant pals made in a minute. | 0:12:04 | 0:12:07
Why don't you try it? | 0:12:07 | 0:12:08
Here's a reminder of how to do it. | 0:12:08 | 0:12:11
Let's go back and take another look. | 0:12:11 | 0:12:14
Cut a craft foam circle in half for ears. | 0:12:14 | 0:12:17
Add pen details. | 0:12:17 | 0:12:19
And stick them to each side of the pot. Add stickers for eyes. | 0:12:19 | 0:12:24
Fold a rectangle of craft foam in half and cut out a moustache shape. | 0:12:24 | 0:12:29
Glue it on, and your plant pal is finished. | 0:12:29 | 0:12:33
Why don't you try and make it in a minute? | 0:12:34 | 0:12:38
Time to go, everyone. | 0:12:38 | 0:12:39
But thank you for being part of another marvellous minute-make. | 0:12:39 | 0:12:44
-Goodbye! -CROWD: Bye! | 0:12:44 | 0:12:46
See you soon! Ha-ha! | 0:12:46 | 0:12:49
Where shall we go next? | 0:12:51 | 0:12:54
ALL: Hello, Mister Maker! | 0:12:54 | 0:12:56
Oh, nice to see you! | 0:12:56 | 0:12:58
What do you think we're making today? | 0:12:58 | 0:13:01
Ooh, I'm not sure. Let's take a look. | 0:13:01 | 0:13:03
I am red. | 0:13:06 | 0:13:08
I'm yellow. | 0:13:12 | 0:13:14
I am brown. | 0:13:18 | 0:13:20
I am peach. | 0:13:26 | 0:13:28
ALL: It's a hot dog! | 0:13:40 | 0:13:42
Well done, everybody! See you next time. | 0:13:42 | 0:13:46
Ssh. | 0:13:46 | 0:13:48 | |
It's time for... | 0:13:48 | 0:13:49
a big surprise! | 0:13:49 | 0:13:52
'These mini-makers have no idea I'm about to visit.' | 0:13:53 | 0:13:56
Shall we give them a big surprise? | 0:13:56 | 0:14:00
Come on, then, let's go! | 0:14:00 | 0:14:02
-Hello! -ALL: Hello. | 0:14:02 | 0:14:04
Hello. It's lovely to meet you. | 0:14:04 | 0:14:06
My friends, I need your help today. | 0:14:06 | 0:14:11
Hello! | 0:14:11 | 0:14:13
Mini Makers, I think we should make a big room in a castle, | 0:14:13 | 0:14:18
fit for a king, a queen, | 0:14:18 | 0:14:21
or a knight of the round making table. | 0:14:21 | 0:14:24
-Will you help me? -ALL: Yeah! | 0:14:24 | 0:14:27
Fantastic! All right, then. | 0:14:27 | 0:14:29
Lily, Charlie, Isa, Sobhan and Harris, | 0:14:29 | 0:14:33
let's make it! | 0:14:33 | 0:14:35
All right, Mini Makers. We're going to make a room in a castle. | 0:14:35 | 0:14:40
-What should it have in it? -A fireplace. | 0:14:40 | 0:14:43
That would be nice. | 0:14:43 | 0:14:45
-What colours would you see in a fireplace? -Red and yellow. | 0:14:45 | 0:14:49
What red and yellow things can we find here? | 0:14:49 | 0:14:52
-This. -That's a good idea, Lily. | 0:14:52 | 0:14:54
-What about the rest of the fireplace? -Bricks. | 0:14:54 | 0:14:57
Fantastic idea. What can we make bricks from? | 0:14:57 | 0:15:00
That would be perfect. We could use these for bricks, couldn't we? | 0:15:00 | 0:15:05
-What else can we make? -ALL: A knight. | 0:15:05 | 0:15:08
A knight in armour! | 0:15:08 | 0:15:09
What can we make our knight from? A plate. | 0:15:09 | 0:15:12
That's already shiny. Great, Lily. Well done. | 0:15:12 | 0:15:16
All right, Mini Makers, are we ready? | 0:15:16 | 0:15:18
ALL: Yes! | 0:15:18 | 0:15:20
Come on. Let's make it! | 0:15:20 | 0:15:22
ALL: We're making the suit of armour. | 0:15:26 | 0:15:29
'This is going to be the fireplace.' | 0:15:33 | 0:15:35
'And here's a nice purple wall.' | 0:15:38 | 0:15:40
Excuse me. That's it. | 0:15:43 | 0:15:45
This big surprise has been great fun so far, | 0:15:45 | 0:15:48
so why don't you join in and make your very own mini make? | 0:15:48 | 0:15:52
Decorate your wall with a funny animal friend | 0:15:54 | 0:15:57
that is also a hoopla game. | 0:15:57 | 0:15:59
Make it and play with it. | 0:15:59 | 0:16:01
You will need a clean, empty milk bottle, | 0:16:01 | 0:16:04
some glue, paint, | 0:16:04 | 0:16:07
washing-up liquid, | 0:16:07 | 0:16:09
modelling clay and cotton wool balls, | 0:16:09 | 0:16:12
three paper plates, | 0:16:12 | 0:16:13
a paintbrush and a pencil, | 0:16:13 | 0:16:16
googly eyes, | 0:16:16 | 0:16:17
scissors, | 0:16:17 | 0:16:19
rubber gloves | 0:16:19 | 0:16:21
and sticky tape. | 0:16:21 | 0:16:23
First, take two paper plates | 0:16:23 | 0:16:25
and use modelling clay and a pencil to carefully make holes | 0:16:25 | 0:16:29
at the top of one plate and the middle of the other plate. | 0:16:29 | 0:16:34
Using these holes, cut a large circle out of one plate, | 0:16:34 | 0:16:38
and a smaller circle at the top of the other plate. | 0:16:38 | 0:16:42
If you find this tricky, ask an adult to help. | 0:16:42 | 0:16:45
To make funny animal antlers, | 0:16:45 | 0:16:47
fill a pair of rubber gloves with cotton wool balls. | 0:16:47 | 0:16:52
Then twist the ends | 0:16:53 | 0:16:55
and tape them together. | 0:16:55 | 0:16:58
Now push both gloves through the plate with the smaller hole, | 0:16:58 | 0:17:04
and tape them in place like this. | 0:17:04 | 0:17:07
Then glue another plate onto the back. | 0:17:07 | 0:17:11
Next, squeeze a big squirt of paint into the milk bottle, | 0:17:14 | 0:17:20
and add a smaller squirt of washing-up liquid. | 0:17:20 | 0:17:24
Put the lid on and give it a shake. | 0:17:24 | 0:17:26
The washing-up liquid helps the paint to stick to the milk bottle. | 0:17:26 | 0:17:31
Take off the lid whilst the paint dries, | 0:17:31 | 0:17:34
then glue the bottle onto the plate, like this. | 0:17:34 | 0:17:38
Screw the lid back on, | 0:17:38 | 0:17:41
and stick on googly eyes. | 0:17:41 | 0:17:43
Now take your other cut-out plate, | 0:17:44 | 0:17:47
and your animal hoopla game is finished and ready to play with. | 0:17:47 | 0:17:52
What a great game. But back to work now. | 0:17:52 | 0:17:56
Let's see how our big castle room is coming along. | 0:17:56 | 0:17:59
