0:00:340:00:37

Hello there.

0:00:470:00:49

This is the Makermobile. We're out for a drive.

0:00:490:00:52

I wonder what we're going to see today?

0:00:520:00:55

Whoa, Tocky here.

0:00:550:00:57

Mini Maker message.

0:00:570:00:59

Hello, I'm Rohan.

0:00:590:01:01

Hello, Rohan, can I help you today?

0:01:010:01:03

-Yes, please, Mister Maker.

-OK, I'll be right with you.

0:01:030:01:07

BEEP BEEP!

0:01:090:01:11

This must be the place. Ha ha!

0:01:230:01:25

Hello, Rohan, lovely to meet you. Now, how can I help you today?

0:01:280:01:32

Can we make something to go in this?

0:01:320:01:35

You want to make something and then put it inside that box?

0:01:350:01:39

OK. What we need is an idea

0:01:390:01:41

and for that, I'm going to do my world-famous idea dance!

0:01:520:01:55

I've got it! I've just had a great idea.

0:01:570:02:00

Let's try something.

0:02:000:02:03

Try making a picture to fit inside a box for a fantastic effect.

0:02:030:02:09

-BOTH:

-Let's make it!

0:02:100:02:12

But first, we'll need somewhere to make it.

0:02:120:02:15

Ho ho! We'll also need some things from the Doodle Drawers.

0:02:180:02:22

Back soon.

0:02:220:02:24

Coloured paper, a pen and some scissors.

0:02:280:02:31

Some paint.

0:02:330:02:36

Now, we need another box.

0:02:390:02:42

I wonder if Scrappz can help us?

0:02:420:02:45

HONK!

0:02:450:02:46

Ar rar!

0:02:460:02:47

Hello, Scrappz. You look fantastic! Are you off on holiday?

0:02:470:02:51

Rar. Uh-huh!

0:02:510:02:53

Ohh, lovely! But before you go,

0:02:530:02:55

can you see if there's a long cardboard box in there?

0:02:550:02:58

-Uh-uh-uh.

-Thank you.

0:02:580:03:00

Ugh! Ugh! Urgh!

0:03:000:03:02

Fantastic! Thank you, Scrappz.

0:03:020:03:04

And have a lovely time on your holiday... Oh.

0:03:040:03:07

He's already gone!

0:03:070:03:09

And we also need a glue stick and a paint brush.

0:03:110:03:15

OK then, Rohan, let's make a picture in a box like this one here.

0:03:150:03:21

Oh, look, there's a lovely house, marvellous mountains

0:03:210:03:26

and a beautiful blue sky.

0:03:260:03:29

-All right, Rohan, are you ready?

-Yes!

0:03:290:03:32

Brilliant, are you ready?

0:03:320:03:34

Fantastic! Let's get making.

0:03:340:03:36

Now, the first thing we are going to do is bring in our box,

0:03:360:03:40

because it's time to paint inside it.

0:03:400:03:43

Now, you can use whatever colours of paint you like

0:03:430:03:46

but we're going to use green paint here on one side,

0:03:460:03:51

that'll be for the grass

0:03:510:03:53

and paint the rest of the box blue for the sky.

0:03:530:03:56

Rohan, can you pass me the blue, please?

0:03:560:03:59

Thank you. Let's get painting.

0:03:590:04:01

When the paint is dry, we need to draw around our box

0:04:060:04:10

on to two sheets of paper...

0:04:100:04:12

..one a dark colour...

0:04:130:04:15

..and one a light colour.

0:04:210:04:23

Now we're going to draw jagged lines like this

0:04:260:04:29

to make mountains on both pieces of paper.

0:04:290:04:32

but make sure the mountains on the dark paper

0:04:380:04:41

are higher than the mountains on the light paper.

0:04:410:04:45

Let's put these pieces to one side for the moment,

0:04:450:04:48

because it's now time to draw the rest of our picture

0:04:480:04:52

on these other pieces of coloured paper.

0:04:520:04:55

But we're going to draw a lovely house

0:04:550:04:58

with windows and a door and some bushes.

0:04:580:05:01

OK, Rohan, can you draw some bushes? And I'll make a start on the house.

0:05:030:05:08

Now cut everything out

0:05:180:05:20

but we need to remember to be very careful,

0:05:200:05:23

-because scissors are...

-Sharp!

0:05:230:05:25

That's right! OK, then, let's get cutting.

0:05:250:05:29

Here are all our pieces, Rohan,

0:05:330:05:36

so next we need to stick the tallest mountain -

0:05:360:05:40

that's the dark mountain - inside our box.

0:05:400:05:43

Could you put some glue on that for me, please? Thank you.

0:05:430:05:48

Thank you very much, let's stick that in.

0:05:520:05:56

And now on top of this,

0:05:580:06:00

we're going to stick a long, thin box.

0:06:000:06:03

So can you put a little bit of glue on there, please, Rohan?

0:06:030:06:07

Thank you.

0:06:090:06:10

And then on top of that, we'll stick the smaller mountain.

0:06:140:06:17

So I'll need some glue on here as well, please.

0:06:170:06:22

There.

0:06:220:06:24

When the box is dry, stand it up.

0:06:290:06:33

And you can see it's looking good already

0:06:330:06:36

but we're missing the house and the bushes.

0:06:360:06:39

We'll start with the house

0:06:390:06:41

and we'll fold a flap like this

0:06:410:06:44

at the bottom and then put some glue on here...

0:06:440:06:48

and then stick it on to the bottom of the box

0:06:480:06:53

and then glue on the windows, door and bushes.

0:06:530:06:57

There, we're all finished.

0:06:570:07:00

It's a brilliant picture inside a box.

0:07:000:07:03

And you can make all kinds of pictures

0:07:030:07:06

and put them in all kinds of boxes.

0:07:060:07:08

How about using a round box

0:07:080:07:11

to make a picture of balloons floating through the sky?

0:07:110:07:14

Or you could even add a card frame to the box to make a window.

0:07:140:07:20

Why don't you imagine a picture, make it and then put it in a box?

0:07:200:07:25

-Did you enjoy that?

-Yeah!

-Brilliant!

0:07:250:07:27

We made it and now your home is where the art is. High five!

0:07:270:07:33

Good man! Ha ha!

0:07:330:07:34

What a good effect. Great work, Rohan. Bye!

0:07:340:07:39

Ha ha ha, lovely.

0:07:410:07:42

He he! It's brilliant being out and about in the Makermobile.

0:07:420:07:46

There's always so much to see and do.

0:07:460:07:49

GIGGLING AND BOUNCING

0:07:490:07:51

What's that noise?

0:07:510:07:53

-BOUNCING AND GIGGLING

-Oh, I know who that is!

0:07:530:07:56

Whee!

0:07:560:07:58

Wahey!

0:07:580:08:00

How many circles can you see?

0:09:050:09:07

One...

0:09:200:09:22

There are eight circles.

0:09:220:09:24

BEE BUZZES

0:09:240:09:25

Well done, Shapes.

0:09:250:09:27

It's time to get back in the Doodle Drawers.

0:09:270:09:30

-Wa-ha-hoo!

-Whoo!

0:09:300:09:33

HE CHUCKLES

0:09:330:09:35

Oh, it's such a brilliant day for a lovely drive,

0:09:370:09:40

out in the Makermobile.

0:09:400:09:42

Whoaa!

0:09:420:09:43

Minute-make time!

0:09:430:09:45

Hey, it's minute-make time. I'm on my way!

0:09:450:09:48

We've arrived.

0:10:010:10:03

It's minute-make time, everyone!

0:10:090:10:12

-ALL:

-YEAH!

0:10:120:10:13

Yeah, that's right.

0:10:130:10:15

And today, we're going to make...

0:10:150:10:17

STRANGE GROWLING

0:10:170:10:19

What's that noise? Can you hear that?

0:10:190:10:22

Oh, I know - it's a monster card that's funny and furry.

0:10:220:10:27

And we can make one in just one minute by using these things -

0:10:270:10:32

some coloured card, some scissors,

0:10:320:10:35

some fun fur, a glue stick

0:10:350:10:38

and we'll also need some googly eyes.

0:10:380:10:41

You can find them in art and craft shops,

0:10:410:10:43

I'll be back very soon!

0:10:430:10:46

RAPID FOOTSTEPS

0:10:460:10:47

KER-CHING!

0:10:470:10:49

RAPID FOOTSTEPS

0:10:490:10:50

I've got them! Ha ha! Here are our googly eyes.

0:10:500:10:54

Do you think it's possible to make this monster card...

0:10:540:10:58

IT GROWLS

0:10:580:10:59

-in just one minute?

-ALL:

-NO WAY!

0:10:590:11:02

Well, let's find out. I'll have to be very quick

0:11:020:11:06

but I'll remind you how to do it at the end.

0:11:060:11:09

Are you ready?

0:11:090:11:10

-ALL:

-YEAH!

0:11:100:11:12

Ha ha, are YOU ready?

0:11:120:11:14

Brilliant! Let's make it in a minute.

0:11:140:11:17

-ALL:

-Three, two, one, go!

0:11:170:11:19

Start the clock!

0:11:190:11:21

Right, let's get our card and cover it in glue.

0:11:210:11:24

Put plenty of glue all the way round the edges.

0:11:240:11:28

Then we'll stick on our fun fur like this

0:11:280:11:31

so it covers the whole thing.

0:11:310:11:35

And then we're going to fold it in half

0:11:350:11:38

to make it into a card shape, like that. Ha ha!

0:11:380:11:42

Now let's get our scissors and very carefully

0:11:420:11:45

snip off two corners to make a rounded head shape.

0:11:450:11:50

There's one and there's two.

0:11:500:11:51

Be careful with scissors as they are...

0:11:510:11:54

-ALL:

-Sharp!

-Let's get this card here

0:11:540:11:57

and we're going to very carefully...

0:11:570:11:59

cut a waggly tongue shape like this

0:11:590:12:04

and then we are going to stick this inside with glue.

0:12:040:12:08

Put some glue inside our monster.

0:12:080:12:11

And then stick in his tongue.

0:12:110:12:13

He needs some googly eyes as well,

0:12:130:12:15

so let's glue one eye here and then another eye here.

0:12:150:12:20

And we've made a monster card.

0:12:200:12:24

-ALL:

-YAY!

0:12:240:12:25

Ha ha! I did it, just in time!

0:12:250:12:28

If you've got more than a minute,

0:12:280:12:30

you can make all sorts of monster cards.

0:12:300:12:33

How about this messy monster card with long hair and fangs?

0:12:330:12:38

Or why not try this tall monster with bright fur and a pom-pom nose?

0:12:380:12:44

Monster cards, made in a minute.

0:12:440:12:47

Why don't you try it?

0:12:470:12:48

Here's a reminder of how to do it.

0:12:480:12:51

Let's go back to the start and take another look.

0:12:510:12:54

Stick a rectangle of fun fur to the card.

0:12:540:12:57

Fold it in half.

0:12:570:12:59

Carefully cut off the corners at the edge.

0:12:590:13:02

Then cut a tongue and stick it inside, like this.

0:13:020:13:05

Glue on googly eyes and your monster card is finished.

0:13:050:13:11

Why don't you try make a monster card in just one minute?

0:13:120:13:16

That tickles!

0:13:170:13:19

Sorry about that. Time for me to go, everyone!

0:13:190:13:22

But thanks for being part of another marvellous minute-make. Bye!

0:13:220:13:27

-ALL:

-Bye!

0:13:270:13:29

BEEP BEEP!

0:13:290:13:30

Ah, this is fun. Where shall we go to next?

0:13:300:13:35

Hello, Mister Maker.

0:13:350:13:38

Oh, hello!

0:13:380:13:39

Can you guess what we're making today?

0:13:400:13:43

Let's take a look.

0:13:430:13:44

I'm yellow.

0:13:470:13:49

I am red.

0:13:530:13:55

I'm light blue.

0:14:020:14:04

I'm dark blue.

0:14:070:14:09

-ALL:

-It's a cap!

0:14:190:14:21

Well done, everyone. See you next time!

0:14:210:14:24

Hello! Are you ready...

0:14:250:14:27

for a BIG SURPRISE?!

0:14:270:14:29

These Mini Makers are not expecting me.

0:14:320:14:35

Shall we give them a big surprise? Come on.

0:14:350:14:38

Hello!

0:14:380:14:39

-ALL:

-Hello!

0:14:390:14:41

Now, today I'm looking for something.

0:14:410:14:44

Hmm...

0:14:440:14:45

Hm. Oh!

0:14:450:14:47

Ahh!

0:14:470:14:48

I'm looking for a ladybird, have you seen one?

0:14:480:14:51

-ALL:

-Yes.

0:14:510:14:53

Wait a minute, though.

0:14:530:14:54

I'm talking about a really BIG ladybird.

0:14:540:14:58

-Have you seen one of them?

-ALL:

-No.

0:14:580:15:00

In that case, I think we should make one.

0:15:000:15:03

-Is that a good idea?

-ALL:

-Yes.

0:15:030:15:06

All right. Bisma, Erimentha, Baron, Iman and Hannah...

0:15:060:15:10

Let's make it!

0:15:100:15:12

All right then, Mini Makers, we're going to make a big ladybird.

0:15:120:15:16

What does a ladybird look like?

0:15:160:15:19

It's red and black...

0:15:190:15:21

And it has wings.

0:15:210:15:22

Fantastic! What else does a ladybird have?

0:15:220:15:25

-Spots.

-We need to make it spotty. What can we use for the spots?

0:15:250:15:29

Paper plates?

0:15:290:15:31

Paper plates! That's a good idea! What about the ladybird's body?

0:15:310:15:35

What can we use for that?

0:15:350:15:38

Ah, look at that bean bag!

0:15:380:15:40

Is this big enough to make a big ladybird?

0:15:400:15:42

-ALL:

-Yeah!

-We'll use this, then.

0:15:420:15:45

Baron, can I pass it to you? That's it, put it down. Phew!

0:15:450:15:50

Where should our ladybird live?

0:15:500:15:52

In the garden!

0:15:520:15:54

In the garden, that's a good idea.

0:15:540:15:57

-All right, Mini Makers, we're ready, aren't we?

-Yes!

0:15:570:16:00

Come on, then. Let's make it!

0:16:000:16:03

This is our ladybird.

0:16:040:16:07

With a spotty body...

0:16:070:16:10

and tights for legs.

0:16:100:16:12

Here are some flowers...

0:16:120:16:14

..and toadstools for the garden.

0:16:160:16:20

And here's a lovely blue sky.

0:16:200:16:22

Hm!

0:16:220:16:24

Well done.

0:16:240:16:26

This big surprise has been great fun so far,

0:16:260:16:30

so why don't you join in and make your very own mini make?

0:16:300:16:34

Try making your own little ladybird to play with and have fun with.

0:16:340:16:40

You will need some air-drying clay,

0:16:400:16:43

scissors and a pencil,

0:16:430:16:45

pipe cleaners,

0:16:450:16:47

paint and a paintbrush

0:16:470:16:48

and some stickers.

First, roll a ball of air-drying clay and squash it a little.

0:16:500:16:56

Then use a pencil to draw a line across the top of it for the head

0:16:570:17:02

and a line in the middle for the wings.

0:17:020:17:06

Now carefully cut two pipe cleaners into eight small pieces.

0:17:060:17:12

Push three pieces into one side of the clay

0:17:180:17:22

and three into the other side.

0:17:220:17:25

Then bend them into leg shapes, like this.

0:17:250:17:28

Now curl two pieces of pipe cleaner around a pencil

0:17:280:17:32

and push these into the clay for antennae.

0:17:320:17:36

Leave it to dry, then paint it.

0:17:360:17:39

And leave it to dry again.

Stick on stickers for spots and eyes,

0:17:450:17:49

and your ladybird is finished and ready to play with.
