There's so much to see and do when out and about in the Makermobile.

-Can you show me how to make a sea picture?

That's a great idea.

I, Mister Maker, will make a super sea picture by using

the first thing that comes out of my jacket pocket.

Which is...

A comb! Ha, ha!

A comb?! I don't know how that got in there.

Honestly, I don't. Let's try again. I, Mister Maker,

will make a super sea picture by using the first thing

that comes out of my other jacket pocket. Which is...

some washing up sponges, and these sponges

have just given me a great idea.

Let's try something.

Try using the things you wash up with

to make a picture of a boat on a wavy sea.

BOTH: Let's make it!

But first, we'll need somewhere to make it.

And we'll also need some things from the Doodle Drawers.

Hold those, please. Thank you.

A glue stick and some coloured card...

Some more sponges, a pen and some scissors.

And some paint.

We also need a washing-up brush.

I wonder if Scraps has got one.

-SCRAPS MUMBLES

-Oh, hello, Scraps.

Have you got a brush in there, please.

There he goes. Hee, hee!

Sorry, Scraps. This is actually a hairbrush.

It's quite useful...

but it's not what we need. So can I give you that back, please?

All right then, Fin,

let's make a wavy, washing-up picture like this one here...

of a super sailboat sailing on a wavy sea.

-All right then, Fin, are you ready?

-Yeah.

Brilliant! Are you ready? Great! Let's get making.

The first thing we'll do is bring in a nice blue sheet of coloured card.

Now, we're going to make our sea using blue, green and white paint.

Start by squeezing dark blue paint across the card, like this.

Then green...

Then light blue...

It looks good if you put two lines of white paint at the top.

Now it's time to pick up our washing-up brush,

which we'll dip into the lines of paint

and move across the page to make big wave shapes.

Ha, ha! There we go!

Now, we can hold the picture up...

like this

and let the paint

slide down the page.

Can you see it?

It's a bit messy and a bit drippy,

but we can put our picture down again now.

Then take the brush and mix the paint together to make extra waves.

Ha, ha! Mix it all together.

And when you've finished, leave it to dry.

Our wavy sea is looking good already, but it's missing something.

-What's that, Fin?

-The boat, the sun and the clouds.

-That's right!

We can make those things by using sponges and cloths.

Let's start with a piece of yellow cloth.

And why don't you draw a circle on there to make our sun, Fin?

And I'm going to draw a cloud.

Carry on drawing until you've drawn all your shapes.

-Then we can cut them out. Will you help me, Fin?

-Yes.

-Brilliant.

-Careful with scissors because they are...

-Sharp.

That's right. Be very careful, my friend. There's some scissors.

Now our shapes are ready to glue on to the picture.

Can you put glue on there for me? I'll bring back our wavy sea...

and then we can stick everything down!

All finished! A wonderful, wavy washing-up picture.

You can use sponges and cloths to make all sorts of pictures.

You could make someone swimming through the waves

with a spotty swimming cap and goggles.

You could put waves across the top of the page,

to make a beach with a crab and shells.

Minute-make time!

Hey! It's minute-make time! I'm on my way!

I've arrived!

It's minute-make time, everyone!

-Yeah!

-Ooh. What's that noise?

Oh, I know. It's coming from over here.

Look!

It's my pom-pom chick! Ha, ha, ha!

It's really cute, and would be a lovely gift for a friend.

You can make one in just one minute,

by using these. Some feathers,

some stickers, a small piece of coloured card,

a pen, a pair of scissors,

shredded tissue paper,

a glue stick, a big pom-pom

and a smaller pom-pom.

If you've no pom-poms, you could use

scrunched up balls of tissue paper instead.

Now, do you think it's possible to make this pom-pom chick

-in just one minute?

-CROWD:

-No way!

Let's find out. I'll have to be quick,

but don't worry, I'll remind you how to do it at the end. Are you ready?

-Yes!

-Are you ready? Fantastic! Let's make it in a minute.

Three...two...one...go!

Start the clock!

Let's get the big pom-pom and put lots of glue on it.

There. It's a bit messy. Now, let's get two feathers.

Put one there and the other one on top. Let's get the smaller pom-pom

and that'll be the bird's head.

So let's put it on top and get some stickers

and we can draw some dots on here.

One in the middle there, and one there,

and we'll stick one on here and then the other one

on the other side. He needs a beak,

so let's get this orange card and very carefully fold it in half,

-then get the scissors. Take care because they're...

-Sharp!

Let's cut a triangle shape.

And if we open it up, we've got a lovely beak.

Now let's put some glue on this edge

and we can stick it under the bird's eyes.

Shredded tissue paper for the nest, and we've made a pom-pom chick.

Yay!

I did it! Just in time. If you've got longer,

you can try all sorts of ideas.

Why not try a red one, with spotty tail feathers?

Or you could even make a nest full of chicks,

like these, made out of black pom-poms!

Pom-pom chicks, made in a minute! Why don't you try it?

Here's a reminder of how to do it!

Let's go back for another look.

Glue feathers on both sides of a big pom-pom.

Stick a smaller pom-pom on top. Draw dots on stickers for eyes.

Fold a piece of card in half. Cut it into a triangle shape,

and stick it on as a beak! Make a shredded-tissue nest...

and your pom-pom chick is finished!

we should make a big racing car on a big race track.

Mini-makers, we need to make a big racing car.

-What colour should it be?

-Blue!

-Red!

Who thinks red? Red...who thinks blue? Ooh, red just wins.

What'll we make our race car out of? Ooh, Ben. What've you got there?

The cardboard boxes, of course!

We can make a really big racing car out of this, can't we?

-Should we make a crowd for our race track?

Oh, the paper plates? OK, let's use this for the hair, like that.

You've got some googly eyes? OK, put them on.

Come on, then, let's make it. This is going to be the racing car.

These are the wheels.

And these are the lights.

You're right, he has. Very good.

Hey, fantastic. He looks just like me! Ha, ha!

Let's paint a sunny, blue sky.

Come on, mini-makers, bring them in! That's it.

This big surprise has been great fun so far,

so why don't you join in and make your very own mini-make?

Become a champion driver,

and make your own mini racing car to play with.

You will need a cardboard box, card, plastic lids and a plastic capsule,

some stickers, a paintbrush, scissors and a pen,

a glue stick, and some paint.

First, draw a line at the top of the piece of card.

Then draw a capital letter T-shape underneath, like this,

and cut it out, so you're left with a long rectangle and a T-shape.

Now, fold the top of the T-shape over to make a flap.

Stick it on to the back of the box.

Then stick the rectangle on to the front,

paint the box,

then when it's dry,

stick lids on both sides for wheels.

And a small lid on the back for an exhaust.

Now, take half a plastic capsule, or any round lid,

and stick on a coloured sticker.

Glue it on to the car to make the driver's helmet.

Now, add more stickers for your car's number...

wheel details...

and headlights.

Your super racing car is finished, and ready for you to play with.
