Hello, everyone. Are you ready for an arty party?

We're in the party pad. It's the perfect place for a party.

So, let's get arty.

It's the Mini Makers from Manchester.

Come on. Gather round, everyone. Are you feeling arty?

-KIDS:

Hello, Scrappz, my friend.

It's great to see you.

What do you think we should make our party about today?

Ooh... I must fix that dripping tap.

Now, Mini Makers, what's our party going to be about today?

-Drips and drops!

-That's right, Mini Makers.

We're going to have a drip and drop party today.

CHEERING

Ah, yes. Good thinking, Scrappz -

a few drips and drops of water to make the flower grow.

Very good.

Oh, Mini Makers, we're going to have a drippy, droppy party today

and we're going to make an Arty Party picture.

What shall we use for our picture?

-Paper.

-Paper.

-Coloured paper. Paintbrushes.

Runny paint.

Some lovely ideas there, Mini Makers, and thank you,

because it's just given me a brilliant idea.

Let's get arty at our party and, for a deeply dippy, drippy effect,

make brightly coloured drippy flowers grow out of long grass.

But first, we'll need some things from...

-ALL:

-The Doodle Tube!

Some card and some crayons.

Some runny paint.

Some flip-flops.

Flip-flops?

Doodle Tube, we need drips and drops, not flip-flops.

And we'll need some brushes and a straw.

All right there, Mini Makers, are you ready?

-KIDS:

-Yes!

-OK.

You can make any drippy picture you like,

but today I'm going to make a drippy flower picture.

I'm going to start over here by putting in this nice card.

Then I'm going to draw some grass using these wax crayons.

You don't have to use crayons, you can use chalk as well.

Here we go. I'm starting with this dark crayon like that.

Nice long lines starting from the bottom upwards.

Now I'm going to use a lighter green.

That one.

You don't have to be neat with this.

There we are. We've got some lovely grass.

It looks like a nice field, doesn't it?

Now we need to add our flowers.

Oh, thank you very much, Kimberly. That's very kind.

Let's start with this bright pink paint.

We're going to drip and drop it on to our grass.

We need a big splodge.

There we go. That's enough pink, I think.

I'm going to add some yellow now. It just drips and drops on like that.

OK. Now I'm going to put the paint down

and pick up a drinking straw and start blowing.

-KIDS:

-Whoa! Wow!

That's amazing.

-What do you think, Mini Makers?

-Fantastic!

Let's make another flower. Here we go.

Now remember to blow from the middle of your flower outwards.

And you can make as many flowers as you like.

There we have three lovely flowers.

Now we need to add some more drips and drops.

We do that by dripping the paint from our brush. Watch this.

This can be lots of fun. Here we go.

-Shall we try another colour? KIDS:

-Yellow!

Here comes the yellow.

There we have a lovely drippy flower picture.

Brilliant.

I made flowers.

They're supposed to be in a garden, but I have not done the fence yet.

It looks lovely.

Jackson Pollock was an artist who lived in America

and was famous for pouring and dripping paint.

To get more action and movement into his pictures,

some people think he made his art in a really clever way.

Music, please!

MUSIC PLAYS

When Pollock created a painting,

it looked like he was dancing around the canvas.

He used dripping, pouring and splattering to splash on the paint.

Using the movement of his dancing body,

the paintings took on a brilliant, exciting effect.

Some people think that his pictures were made by accident,

but Jackson Pollock didn't think so.

Ha-ha! I can control the flow of paint. There is no accident.

And when you first look at this type of painting,

it looks a bit of a mess of lines, drips and drops.

But if you look closer, it starts to look like really great art.

I'm just going to drop this off at the gallery.

Wow. I hope Jackson Pollock put down plenty of old paper first.

But now, let's see how our Mini Makers are getting on

with their Arty Party pictures.

I've made four flowers, but three of them are big and one's small.

That's right - it's a paintbrush.

Scrappz's Surprise Party Popper!

If you want to make a drip-drop bug like this, all you need to do is...

..put a blob of paint on to a piece of card.

Lift the card up and dribble the paint

so it runs to the edge of the page to make a leg.

It looks good if you change direction halfway through to make a knee.

Add some more paint to the blob

and do the same again to make another leg.

Make as many legs as you want,

then leave it to dry.

Now rip wing shapes out of tracing paper.

Scrunch them up...

and flatten them out again.

Then stick them to the body.

Add stickers for eyes.

And a black dot for pupils.

Your drip-drop bug is finished.

It looks fantastic! What a great idea, Scrappz!

And you can make any type of drip-drop bug you like.
