Hi, I'm Ricky.

Welcome to another chilly Newsround.

Warnings are still in place for snow

and ice, as blizzards continue

to sweep across the UK.

Hundreds of schools are still shut.

In Hampshire and Avon

and Somerset overnight,

snow meant people became stuck

on the roads and had

to sleep in their cars.

I've been taking a closer look

at what's been going on.

A week of heavy snow.

It's fallen thick and

fast all over the UK.

From London to Cardiff,

Belfast and Edinburgh.

The weather's closed schools, roads,

and overnight hundreds

of people were stranded

in their cars in the

south west of England.

Do you think you're going to get out

of here?

Yeah, of course we will!

Even the snow ploughs

struggled to clear the roads.

For lots of you, it s another snow

day, as many schools remain closed.

And lots of you have been sending

us your weather reports!

speaking from Dartmoor.

Mine and my sister's schools

and nursery have been closed.

And although it is fun having a day

off, we can't go outside

because of how cold the snow is!

of their lives.

And here s one definitely

not to try at home -

snow canoeing.

Today will be cold and windy yet

again, with more snow showers

in the north-east,

and some in the south, too.

Next week will see temperatures

start to pick up once again.

Next to Florida in the US,

where kids have returned to school

after a serious gun attack

there two weeks ago.

The BBC's Paul Blake went to meet

one of the students going back

to lessons for the first time.

Hey, Newsround.

I'm here outside a school in Florida

in the United States.

And it's a big day

for students here.

Their first day back in class

since a gun attack two weeks

ago that shocked people

here and around the world.

17 people were killed,

and many others were injured.

I caught up

with 16-year-old Lila Skinner

to ask her about how she felt

about going back to school.

It feels really weird, because I

feel like I fell out of habit

of going to school everyday.

I'm still a little nervous.

I think eventually it

will be normal again,

but not the same normal

it was before the...

Shooting.

It'll probably be a new type

of normal, because those 17 people

aren't going to be there.

As the students filed into class

today, they were hoping

to return to a normal life.

Many people came to greet

them and offer support.

Throughout the school day, police

stood guard outside the school

so that all the students

and teachers would feel safe.

After class, Lila met up with some

of her friends, and told me how

she felt about her first day

back on campus.

It was really good to

be back in my school.

It was great to see everyone.

People that we didn't even talk to,

we talked to them and we let each

other know that we have each other's

back, we support each other,

my friends and I, we hang out,

and we paint and laugh and make

jokes to make each other feel

better, so we can all heal properly.

We're very optimistic

about the future, we are going

to make sure everyone is OK

and we're going to find ways that

work for us, and we're

just going to move on.

Now over to the sport,

and for the second time in a week,

Manchester City have beaten Arsenal

3-0, this time in

the Premier League.

Take a look at this...

Silva. Oh, it's a very cute goal

indeed!

City have extended their lead

at the top of the table to 16

points, and are now only five wins

away from the title.

It's a very different

picture though for Arsenal,

who were booed by their fans.

Well, the ones that

turned up, anyway.

Phil Neville made the perfect start

to his time in charge

of the England women's team.

His side thrashed France 4-1

in the SheBelieves Cup in Ohio.

Next up for England,

Olympic champions Germany on Sunday.

We started with snow,

so let's finish with snow.

Kite-surfing usually

takes place on a beach -

more often than not,

in the sunshine.

But that hasn't stopped

this guy in Ireland.

How cool is that?!

Look at him go!
