Good morning!

0:00:140:00:15

And welcome to Newsround.

0:00:150:00:17

I'm Hayley with all

today's top news.

0:00:170:00:19

First up, it stars John Cena,

one of the most famous WWE

0:00:190:00:22

superstars of all time,

and it's just been nominated for one

0:00:220:00:26

of the biggest movie

awards, a Golden Globe.

0:00:260:00:29

The animated film Ferdinand tells

the story of a giant

0:00:290:00:31

bull with a big heart.

0:00:310:00:33

Martin went to find out more.

0:00:330:00:34

ELECTRO DANCE MUSIC.

0:00:350:00:38

What was the experience

like for you?

0:00:490:00:52

It was great, it wasn't

difficult by any means.

0:00:520:00:54

It was fun to make.

0:00:540:00:56

The animators are so imaginative.

0:00:560:00:58

They have a child's imagination

which is brilliant.

0:00:580:01:03

You can create magic

if you never grow up.

0:01:030:01:05

So, it was fun to work

with those folks.

0:01:050:01:08

When you look at me, you think big.

0:01:080:01:10

You are ginormous.

0:01:100:01:10

I can't wait to show

you to the rest of the guys,

0:01:100:01:13

they're going to fertilise the yard.

0:01:130:01:15

John Cena is the voice of Ferdinand.

0:01:150:01:19

People would recognise him

from being a WWE wrestler.

0:01:190:01:23

Why was he perfect for the role?

0:01:230:01:26

When he did the voice of Ferdinand,

the minute he delivered the lines,

0:01:260:01:29

I knew he was Ferdinand.

0:01:290:01:30

Not because I was looking at this

big guy, like a big Ferdinand.

0:01:300:01:33

It was because he really felt it.

0:01:330:01:35

Can you help me out?

0:01:350:01:42

This is the beautiful horsey side

and that is the stinky bull side.

0:01:420:01:45

Have a nice day smelling terrible.

0:01:450:01:46

High hoof!

0:01:460:01:47

Scottish people are very proud

of the fact, you know

0:01:470:01:52

where I'm going to go

with this, don't you?

0:01:520:01:54

It's about Angus, the bull.

0:01:540:01:57

OK, we are going to have many bulls

and they all had to look different.

0:01:570:02:00

We saw this bull with a lot of hair

on their faces and big

0:02:000:02:04

horns, that is the bull!

0:02:040:02:05

where do they come from?

0:02:050:02:06

Scotland.

0:02:060:02:07

That's it.

0:02:070:02:08

David Tennant, it is.

0:02:080:02:09

Have you tried a Scottish accent?

0:02:090:02:11

I'm no good.

0:02:110:02:12

SCOTTISH ACCENT:

I've tried,

I can do it a wee bit.

0:02:120:02:14

That's not bad.

0:02:140:02:16

It's better than some Scottish

people I know, John.

0:02:160:02:18

GRUNTING.

0:02:200:02:25

What message do you think Ferdinand

gives to young kids out there?

0:02:250:02:29

Ah, just be happy with who you are.

0:02:290:02:31

If you are passionate

about something that

0:02:310:02:32

everyone else thinks

is uncool, who cares?

0:02:320:02:38

Follow your passion and be

proud of who you are.

0:02:380:02:41

It's OK you may like different

things because we're all different.

0:02:410:02:45

Now, I imagine loads

of you will have

0:02:450:02:47

decorated your houses for Christmas

with trees and lights

0:02:470:02:49

and all sorts of sparkly bits!

0:02:490:02:53

But did you ever wonder

how tinsel is made?

0:02:530:02:55

Well, we went to find out.

0:02:550:02:59

Hi, Newsround, welcome

to the factory where

0:02:590:03:00

it is Christmas every day.

0:03:000:03:04

This is Festive Productions,

the biggest tinsel factory in the

0:03:040:03:06

UK.

0:03:060:03:10

We make 12 million metres

of tinsel every single year.

0:03:100:03:13

That is enough to wrap

all the way around

0:03:130:03:16

the moon and you'll still have

two million metres leftover.

0:03:160:03:19

Phew.

0:03:190:03:21

Right, let's see how tinsel is made.

0:03:210:03:22

First off, let's choose the colours.

0:03:220:03:28

Let's make some Newsround-coloured

0:03:280:03:30

tinsel. Next, we load the machines

with the reels, and switch it on.

0:03:300:03:38

The machine cuts the foil up

to make it nice and frilly.

0:03:440:03:47

Then, we add some wire

to make it stronger.

0:03:470:03:56

That happens down in there.

0:03:560:04:02

Finally, it goes down

to the tub where it's all

0:04:020:04:04

spun together like a

candy floss machine.

0:04:040:04:07

The machine stops,

and your tinsel is ready.

0:04:070:04:09

Here it is.

0:04:090:04:16

Newsround tinsel.

0:04:160:04:21

Now, you might remember, yesterday

you were sending in your brilliant

0:04:260:04:29

snow pictures.

0:04:290:04:30

But check this one out.

0:04:300:04:31

Why build a snowman

when an igloo is so much better?

0:04:310:04:36

It took Benjamin Crutch

from Redditch eight hours to make

0:04:360:04:38

the igloo, using 500 snow bricks.

0:04:380:04:43

He built it in the garden,

and it looks like everybody

0:04:430:04:46

enjoyed it - even the dog.

0:04:460:04:47

That's it from me.

0:04:470:04:48

Newsround's back

in about half-an-hour

0:04:480:04:50

with some big moon news.

0:04:500:04:51

Don't miss it.

0:04:510:04:54

of the day's stories.
