This is Newsround and here's what's coming up on the show. | :00:00. | :00:08.
We look at Rocket Recycling with Spacex. | :00:09. | :00:12.
And how music gave this girl her voice. | :00:13. | :00:24.
First up to China where a new law could help to save | :00:25. | :00:27.
The animals are illegally hunted in Africa for the ivory | :00:28. | :00:32.
in their tusks and China's where much of it is sold. | :00:33. | :00:36.
But today almost half the shops allowed to sell ivory | :00:37. | :00:38.
in China will be closed, with the rest to be shut | :00:39. | :00:41.
Conservationists say it's a good idea but the big problem now | :00:42. | :00:47.
is tackling the ivory that's being sold illegally as well. | :00:48. | :00:52.
Next, this rocket launch behind me is no ordinary lift-off. | :00:53. | :00:56.
It's the first time a rocket's headed back into space after having | :00:57. | :00:59.
Normally rocket parts are used only once and then scrapped | :01:00. | :01:03.
or destroyed when it lands back on Earth. | :01:04. | :01:08.
But American company SpaceX has faound a way of landing rocket parts | :01:09. | :01:11.
safely back on Earth and then re-using them to head | :01:12. | :01:14.
It's hoped this will help make rocket launches a lot | :01:15. | :01:17.
A war there has been going on for seven years. | :01:18. | :01:33.
Many thousands of people have been killed and millions more have fled | :01:34. | :01:36.
But what is life like for the families who are | :01:37. | :01:39.
A team of BBC journalists went to the city of Homs to find out. | :01:40. | :01:44.
In the last few years, so much has changed in Syria. | :01:45. | :01:46.
Buildings have been completely destroyed. | :01:47. | :01:48.
Some parts of the country are unrecognisable. | :01:49. | :01:51.
Different groups who can't agree on the way the country should be | :01:52. | :01:54.
run have been fighting against each other. | :01:55. | :01:57.
Life has changed drastically for children living here. | :01:58. | :02:01.
Three years ago, Barah-hah was scared. | :02:02. | :02:03.
She lost members of her own family in some of the fiercest fighting | :02:04. | :02:07.
and had to stop going to school because it wasn't safe. | :02:08. | :02:10.
Back then she told the BBC what life was like. | :02:11. | :02:15.
Three years on, and a lot has changed. | :02:16. | :02:26.
Her classroom is crowded and she gave the BBC's | :02:27. | :02:34.
You know, in some ways, of course this is terrific to see, | :02:35. | :02:41.
children just being children here in Syria. | :02:42. | :02:47.
A place that has seen some of the worst fighting of the war. | :02:48. | :02:51.
And now an ordinary day with children going to | :02:52. | :02:54.
When I go to bed, I remember when I had a part in a | :02:55. | :03:07.
play, I remember school, what I did | :03:08. | :03:09.
It's all good stuff, no bad memories. | :03:10. | :03:13.
These children are lucky to be back | :03:14. | :03:15.
in school but not every child in Syria is so fortunate. | :03:16. | :03:18.
Many are still not able to go to school and there is still no end | :03:19. | :03:22.
Manchester City Women became the first English team to reach | :03:23. | :03:34.
the Champions League semi-finals since 2014. | :03:35. | :03:38.
Lucy Bronze scored the only goal in the game. | :03:39. | :03:41.
City will face Lyon in the last four. | :03:42. | :03:43.
Captain Steph Houghton is excited for the next stage. | :03:44. | :03:50.
We don't stop here. We are excited. We are in the semifinal and we know | :03:51. | :03:58.
they are an experienced team and have a team full of world-class | :03:59. | :04:03.
individuals, but so have we. It's going to be an exciting game, | :04:04. | :04:04.
definitely. Tennis now and Johanna Konta has | :04:05. | :04:07.
become the first British woman Johanna Konta was just six years | :04:08. | :04:09.
old when Venus William first won her Miami Open | :04:10. | :04:16.
title 19 years ago. Next, it's time to meet a music | :04:17. | :04:19.
lover called Ruweyda. Even though she is seven years old, | :04:20. | :04:24.
Ruweyda only recently Martin's been finding | :04:25. | :04:26.
out more about her. She is seven years old and has | :04:27. | :04:34.
something called selective mutism, a very strong | :04:35. | :04:37.
type of anxiety meaning she cannot speak | :04:38. | :04:40.
Until recently, Ruweyda did not say a word at | :04:41. | :04:44.
school, until she started taking some special music classes. | :04:45. | :04:56.
I guess Ruweyda was very quiet with selective mutism, not speaking | :04:57. | :04:59.
And then she came to music therapy and she was | :05:00. | :05:05.
very shy in the first session and it took | :05:06. | :05:09.
a little while to warm up, but | :05:10. | :05:10.
then she responded really well and quickly. | :05:11. | :05:15.
It was after her second session when she spoke her first | :05:16. | :05:18.
Some of the kids came in and said Ruwedya is speaking! | :05:19. | :05:27.
I thought, she can speak, she is just shy. | :05:28. | :05:29.
About 1% of children are thought to have | :05:30. | :05:46.
selective mutism like Ruweyda but there's | :05:47. | :05:47.
not a lot of research into | :05:48. | :05:49.
helping people with it, so people like Ruwedya's music | :05:50. | :05:51.
teacher are working hard to find different ways to help. | :05:52. | :05:53.
That's all from me, Newsround's back this afternoon with Leah. | :05:54. | :05:57. |
