-Yes.

Aaagh, oh, no!

Ernie, go back to your stall, I'll clear up the mess.

I think I'd better get back to The Rainbow. Oh, dear.

Good idea. I'll have more cakes by the time you're back.

-Yes, I thought you might. Come on, Salty.

-Bye.

That's it, come on. What a mess.

I don't know.

Ha-ha, that's better.

There she is! The Rainbow.

But what have you got for us today, my dear?

Hey, hey, come on, Salty.

Here we are.

Go on, in your bed. Good girl, go on. There we are.

Oh, look here, it's your favourite aeroplane, Salty, yeah.

Look at that. Oh, I've got to fix that propeller, too. I'll do that.

You're still thinking about that balloon, aren't you?

I know, it was a very, very fine balloon,

but, you know, balloons can be trouble, too.

What about that time we took those balloons to the Tigerfish's party?

Do you remember?

Once upon a twinkly time,

The Rainbow set off from Staithes,

waved goodbye to Whitby

and disappeared over the horizon.

We didn't really have a plan that day,

so we sang.

But just as we were getting nice and comfy, and snoozy,

we heard a flapping of wings, and our good friend Brenda the stork

landed rather awkwardly on the deck.

Ooh! Oh, dear.

"Oh, bother this package," she said.

"It's addressed to the Tigerfish, special delivery.

"It's a Pass-the-Parcel parcel, and it's very heavy."

Hup!

Pass The Parcel? "It must be the Tigerfish's birthday," I realised.

Brenda shook her head.

"Oh dear. He lives under the sea.

"I can't go down there, my feathers will get all wet!"

Well, Salty and I were used to walking around under the sea,

so we offered to deliver the package.

Well, once under the water, we delivered the package,

and we made our way back. We almost collided with Speedy!

In a hurry, as always, he was delivering the birthday cake.

"Must dash.

"Beep-beep," and he sped off.

And then along came Charlie Squid.

He had his tentacles all tangled up in string bunting

to decorate the Tigerfish's house.

"There is so much to do for the Tigerfish's party," he said.

"It's a good job everyone is helping."

As we headed on, Salty spotted a little pufferfish,

perched behind some sea petals.

She looked a bit sad.

Hello! Have you been invited to the Tigerfish's party this afternoon?

"Yes," sniffed the pufferfish, rather sadly,

"but everybody has got a job to do except me.

"I want to help with the party like everyone else. It's not fair.

"I'm not going."

Oh, dear! She wasn't happy at all,

but there was nothing we could do.

So we said goodbye to the sad little pufferfish and we headed off.

Back on The Rainbow,

Salty and I had blown up a big bunch of balloons for the party.

We were having a short break,

when Salty spotted something strange rising up from the water.

I took out my trusty telescope... and I had a look.

It was more balloons.

They rose up into the air, to reveal Bluey,

the blue whale, underneath, holding them.

"Hi, Bluey," I said.

"Let me guess, are they the Tigerfish's party balloons?" I asked.

"Yes," Bluey said.

"I'm supposed to be delivering them, but I need to get a present, too."

And then Salty, she had one of her brilliant ideas.

WOOF

We could deliver the balloons for Bluey!

Brilliant.

Bluey carefully handed over his balloons to us

and we tied them onto the rails of The Rainbow

with the balloons we had already blown up.

Bluey thanked us and dashed off,

but as we waved them off,

we noticed something strange happening.

The front of the boat was going slowly up in the air.

And then we noticed that the whole boat was going up in the air.

And of course, all those extra balloons were lifting The Rainbow

up into the air. Up, up, up we went

and we began to float in the sky.

Salty was very excited, weren't you?

She had always dreamed of being a pilot, flying her very own aeroplane.

I looked through my trusty telescope,

and down below I saw the village clock in Staithes.

Whoops! Look at the time!

The party was starting soon, and we still had these balloons to deliver.

We needed to get The Rainbow down again, and fast.

We were floating higher and higher

when Brenda the stork passed by again.

"I know! I'll call up the angry bees,

"they'll be able to help," she said.

Well, we tried to stop her, but Brenda was already on the phone.

And sure enough, moments later,

on the horizon we saw a large crowd of angry bees.

Bzzzzzzzz!

"No! No!" we shouted, "Don't pop the balloons,

"we need them for the party"!

But it was too late.

The bees popped every single balloon with their stings.

Moments later, there wasn't a balloon left,

and, of course, The Rainbow suddenly fell back into the sea

with an enormous crash,

and an enormous splash!

Brenda flapped over.

"That got you down," she said, cheerily.

Well, it was true, but what were we going to do?

Now we didn't have a single balloon for the party.

But Salty, she had her thoughtful face on,

the one where her whiskers wiggle.

She'd just had a brilliant idea.

WOOF!

"We need to find that pufferfish," she said.

So we dashed back down, under the water,

looking for the sad little pufferfish.

"How is a little pufferfish going to help us?" I asked,

but Salty was in too much of a hurry to reply.

Eventually, we found the little pufferfish where we'd left her,

behind a sea petal.

"Little pufferfish," said Salty,

"Would you like a job to do at the party?"

Well, her puffy eyes brightened when she heard that!

"Oh, yes, please," she said.

"Then puff yourself up like a balloon,"

said Salty, "because we don't have any."

And right there and then, the sad little pufferfish puffed herself up

to be a really big, happy pufferfish, who looked just like a balloon!

"And can you stay like that for the whole party?" I asked.

"Oh, yes," puffed the pufferfish.

"I'm always full of puff."

"Hu-hu-hu-hu."

We were ready for the party!

And what a party it was!

The little pufferfish invited all her brothers and sisters along,

as well, so we had pufferfish balloons everywhere.

Salty won a model aeroplane playing Pass the Parcel,

and the Tigerfish said,

"This is the best birthday ever!"

And this is the plane Salty won in Pass the Parcel.

Yeah, I'll fix that later.

Well, that was a tale to wiffle your whiskers, wasn't it, Salty?

Yeah, we'll fix that.

Mind you, my stories always are. Ho-ho.

Oh, look. See that?
