Welcome to Week Two at Pet School.

Two unforgettable weeks.

Ohh!

Nine pet-crazy kids.

-I'd like a dog.

-I'd really like a scorpion or a snake.

I would like a rabbit.

And 51 hungry mouths to feed.

But can Pet School give our nine pet-heads the skills

to become responsible pet owners?

Sit, Kiki! Sit!

When term's out, will they persuade their parents

to get them a pet of their own?

Is he going to get a pet?

I'm Aaron Craze. Hold on tight - it's about to get a lot tougher!

Week One at Pet School. Our nine pet-heads have been learning

all the skills they need to become top pet people.

They've been cleaning,

-feeding...

-He is hungry!

..and caring for all the Pet School animals.

Come here.

They've had their own pet buddies to look after.

I love you!

Some relationships have been more successful than others.

Don't bite!

But on Day Five, it was all change.

Here are your pet buddies for next week.

-Some were chuffed...

-Get in!

..and some weren't.

Be strong, guys.

So, how will they get on with their pet buddies in Week Two?

It's really cute!

-Try and stroke her again, Micah.

-Yeah, I will.

And in just five days' time,

will they have done enough for their parents to get them their own pet?

OK, guys, it's time for Pet Practice.

You are going to have the mice and hamsters.

-Is that cool?

-Yeah.

-Good.

You've got the fish.

You've got the dogs.

Well done.

You can't keep him away, can you?

-COCK-A-DOODLE-DOO!

-You heard it here first!

Now, guys, make like chickens and run!

Go on!

-Let's start by finding the food.

-Are you serious?

Pet Practice gives our pet-heads the chance

to work on the skills they'll need to be top pet owners.

Can you actually pick it up?

Each group will have 45 minutes to complete an animal-related task.

Today, we've decided to step things up

and make their tasks harder.

So, to help them out, I've nominated one member of each team

to be boss. Could be messy!

Sophie, Chris and Tej are today's hound helpers.

All three hope their parents will let them have a dog of their own.

So, what are the tasks today?

And Sophie, you're in charge.

It says it here. "Please follow her instructions at all times."

You've got 45 minutes to do this. Off you go!

Come on, Kiki. Have you noticed? Look.

She seems to be really attracted to this.

Kiki doesn't care about that. They're both so well behaved.

It would be bad if they had a really bad behaved dog!

Tej is reunited with his old pet buddy Kiki.

I hope his new pet buddies Primrose and Pickles aren't jealous!

Get them away from the goats.

I think we should let them off now.

-Come on, dogs.

-Let's take them off their leads.

That's not a good idea. They're still quite near the goats.

-Done.

-Not near the goats, Kiki. No!

-Stay!

Come here, Kiki!

Oh, dear!

Kiki was very mischievous!

No, don't! Naughty girl!

We trusted her to go off her lead.

And she ran rampid round the goats.

Kiki! Come on, Kiki!

-Go get 'em!

-You go one way, I'll go the other!

-Go!

Hey, Tej! You might need this!

I think we should get them on the leads now!

Put her lead on!

It's not Kiki's fault.

You've got to be really careful where and when

you choose to let your dog off the lead.

It's been a lesson well learnt for our pet-heads.

Keep your dog on a lead round other animals, just to be sure.

Sam, Liam and Ysabel are ready to give the fish some TLC.

At Pet School we have two fish tanks.

One with goldfish in, and one with tropical fish.

Right, what's on the Pet Practice list?

Our pet-heads need to do this for both tanks.

"Liam is in charge of this Pet Practice." Yes!

I'm the new boss!

How do we get the bucket into there?

This one's a tricky Pet Practice.

Can leader Liam work out how to change the water?

-What about this?

-What's that for?

-I don't know.

-Ooh, wet!

-I don't have fish.

I think this is supposed to take out the water.

Yes, it is, Liam. But you need to put that end in the water,

shake the tube to suck it out,

not scoop the water out!

This method could take some time.

-It'll take forever!

-You've already had 15 minutes!

Make sure you don't grab the fish!

-That's a bucketful now.

-Yeah.

-We should empty the bucket now.

You need to take it to the stock room and fill it with fresh water.

My gosh!

OK.

Be careful, now, Liam, cos you might... You might spill it.

Oh, no!

I've got all wet!

I was a good leader at the start.

It's just that when it came to the water, I spilled it.

'Our team leader was Liam.'

Liam was...

He was...all right.

He needs to hurry up. We can't do anything while he's gone.

There's been a spillage over in the food store.

If it's a box of cornflakes, I'll go mad.

They're making me panic about this, now.

-What's going on?

-I spilled it!

Are you all right? Do you need a hand?

You're gonna leave it like that, yeah?

You can't leave it like this. If someone comes in and slips.

I'll put a bunch of towels and just say, "Wet floor".

-That's the best thing at the moment.

-Could you help me with the bucket?

It's all right, mate. Looks like nothing's happened.

'Yeah. No-one will ever know!'

In the furries' room, our resident rodents are under the watch

of Rachel, Giulia and Micah.

-Hello, mouse!

-Let's see what task we've got today.

Micah is team leader on this one.

Oh, yeah!

So far, Micah's struggled to touch our pets.

I think he may be frightened of them.

He bit me!

-So, where do we start?

-Take this food out.

-Right.

-Let's take this food out.

-That's what I was going to say.

We've got to let them out as quick as we can.

Giulia, can you get that one for me?

Looks like getting the rodents out of their cages

will be more difficult than the cleaning!

-We need to detach this and just tip it.

-No.

-No!

-I really think we can get it out.

-No, don't.

-Why?

-Just don't.

-Just don't.

We need to hurry up with this, then.

Well, you can go with the hamster

-and then I can get the mice into their box and start cleaning.

-OK.

Nice side-step, avoiding picking up the mice!

They don't hurt.

Take her out and we'll put her in that pen over there.

Into the pen. Into the pen!

And Micah's avoided picking up KitKat, too!

Get her into the pen.

With KitKat safely in her special box,

they can get down to some serious house-cleaning.

So I need to clean the enclosure.

OK. This is going to be a bit of a challenge,

but I think I can do it.

Rachel's still on a mouse hunt.

Come on! Who's a good little mouse?

Good mouse! Come on.

-Shall I fill it to the top?

-Yeah.

-Pull that thing up.

-Yeah.

-I'll start cleaning.

-I was thinking that as well.

That's the cleaning avoided, then, Micah!

I basically did KitKat's cage by myself

-which is kind of bragging, but that's what happened.

-What's that?

-Is that stuff to put in there?

-Yeah.

-Cool.

I'll go and check on how Rachel's doing.

Please, please, mouse!

Rachel's having a mouse malfunction!

Please!

I've tried everything. I tried scooping them up with two hands.

I tried lowering them over to me.

I tried when they go on top of there. I tried grabbing them.

They just squeal!

I didn't even eventually catch them. Giulia caught them.

It was quite easy, cos I'm quite an expert, for some reason.

Yes, we did it!

But Micah hasn't gone near any of them.

Sophie, Chris and Tej have moved the dogs away from the goats.

Very wise!

What are you doing?

Oh, poo bag alert! We need poo bags.

After six days, these guys are proper pro poo pickers!

We'll leave the bag here and pick it up on the way back.

Come on!

Molly, drink?

-I think it's time to let the dogs off the lead now.

-Off you go.

Go get it, Molly! Well done!

'In Pet Practice, I was the leader.'

I don't like being bossy. I let people have their own decisions

before I step in and say what my point of view is.

-Sit!

-Molly!

Dogs love to fetch things.

As well as exercise, it's great interaction between owner and pet.

Molly's going for that!

-Well done, Molly!

-Woo!

Well done!

-Molly got it again.

-This one needs to go to Kiki.

Despite the goat hiccup, it's task complete.

Good work, team, with super Sophie as leader.

There's only five minutes left of today's Pet Practice.

Our pet-heads are now putting their treated water into the fish tank.

-Lift it up.

-'They've not done the second yet.'

We're gonna run out of time.

Still not sure that's the right method, Liam.

-In it goes.

-No, just...

Ooh, I know what.

Don't spill it, please don't spill it!

-Just do a bit at a time.

-I'm nervous.

No, that's not the way to do it, either.

Don't lift yours up. I'm not that tall!

-COCK-A-DOODLE-DOO!

-Time up.

Goldfish - done. Tropical fish - not done.

Reena and I will have something to say about that later.

Time's gone. Task not finished. Task incomplete.

Liam's first time in charge hasn't gone well. Sorry, fish!

Over in the furries' room, the mice are safely stored away,

thanks to Giulia - meaning Micah can help out with the cleaning.

About time, too!

I will go like that. Now tip. Carefully!

-Did you squish a mouse?

-No, I never!

When I was putting the enrichments inside the cage,

they were just putting the bedding in.

I'd finished.

Oh, OK. Oh, I get what this does.

And I get that I need to put this cage on!

I think I was a good team leader.

But to improve, I would do a little bit more work

cos I was a bit off - not off-task -

but I was a bit kind of watching what everyone was doing.

-Oh, my God.

-Just pick him up!

Just pick him up.

Still steering clear of those mice, Micah?

-Got him?

-Got him.

Two.

All our pets are back in squeaky-clean cages.

Pet Practice over for Day Six.

Micah thought twice about touching the mice.

The dog squad did good,

so persuading their parents gets a little bit easier.

But team fish failed to clean both tanks.

It's a job that needs to be done.

So there may be consequences.

Strictly Come Dancing's Artem and his cat

salsa into Pet School.

Ysabel is shocked by a surprise arrival,

and Micah and Molly aren't making magic.

Calm down!

At Pet School, all our pet-heads are given an animal to look after

on a one-on-one basis.

At the end of Week One, it was all change,

and some were overjoyed.

-You've got dogs!

-Yes!

-All right!

Others were more than a little disappointed.

You have to be strong, guys.

Today, the old buddies are introducing their pets

to the new buddies. Makes sense.

Tej introduces Kiki to Sophie.

I'm glad that out of everyone, you've got Kiki.

I know you'll look after her the best.

Tej and Kiki really hit it off during Week One.

Come on, Kiki, get the ball. Take the ball. Go!

Oh, cool!

OK, Tej. Time to hand her over to your friend Sophie.

That's my best ever.

She's showing off cos you're here, I guess.

Today he seems really glad that it's me looking after Kiki.

So I feel a bit more confident that he won't be upset.

She probably loves that ball more than she loves her treats!

-Stroke her on the chin.

-Yeah.

-She loves that.

Her favourite food ever is carrots.

Loves it more than ball, more than treats.

If she does something amazing, like you teach her a routine,

then you have to give her a carrot and she'll listen to the routine.

Look after her really well.

Play with her as much as you can and bond with her a lot.

-Bye.

KIKI WHINES

Kiki!

Aw, Kiki's already missing Tej!

Outside, Tinkerbell and Daisy's old buddy, Micah,

is passing them over to Liam.

They're really cute!

-Look at that.

-I know.

You've changed your tune a bit, Liam.

I got a rabbit. I'm really sad. I wanted Molly.

-Have you managed to pick any of them up yet?

-No.

I wasn't really keen on it, so I didn't do it.

Sadly. I would have loved to, though.

Just try now.

After spending all last week not picking up Tinkerbell or Daisy,

is Micah going to finally give it a go now?

Doesn't look like it, does it?

Those fluffy bunnies are just waiting to be hugged!

-It's too sandy.

-It's just sand. It's like this on the beach.

Here, rabbity-rabbity!

Your ears are very soft.

Well done, Liam. The best way to approach a rabbit

is getting down to their level so you don't frighten them.

I think you're doing really well.

Every time I tried to stroke them, they would run.

Oh, I love the rabbits.

So cute and cuddly!

-Oh, no!

-Water went all over me!

-Oh, yeah, Liam...

-This is proper active.

-Now, get it.

-Oh, well...

-Get it, softly.

He's a bit more active.

He's just trying to stroke you. He won't hurt you.

I don't think they like me.

Liam picks up Tinkerbell after just 15 minutes!

Something Micah couldn't do in a whole week.

I feel a little bit sad, but I'll get over it

cos they were all boring when I had them, so...

I think I'll have a good time with Molly when I get to see her.

Will Micah finally be able to touch a pet when he hangs out with Molly?

What's wrong?

In the reptile room, Sam and Ysabel aren't touching a pet, either.

There you are.

Since the corn snake is shedding, they're not allowed to handle him.

A problem Sam has had all week.

Sam was buddied with his dream pet, the corn snake.

He was named Elvis.

But then I had to give him some bad news.

I don't want to alarm you, but we've had a bit of activity in here.

What's happened, he's started to shed his skin.

Almost a week later, and Elvis still hasn't shed his skin.

-How long is he?

-Roughly about four foot.

-Nearly the size of me, then!

-Mm-hm.

Ysabel came to Pet School as she was nervous around animals.

I don't think I'll last a week.

During the first week, she conquered her fear of hamsters.

Are you all right? Oh, I love you.

In Week Two, she was buddied with a cord snake,

in the hope that she would conquer another fear.

But she was gutted.

Ysabel will have to wait for Elvis to shed before she can touch him.

But Pet School has another challenge in store for her.

Pet School likes to bring in animals that some people do keep as pets.

But they're not for beginners because they're Extreme Pets!

OK, guys.

With Elvis shedding, we've an even bigger pet in store for Ysabel, Rachel and Sam.

This is Mr Sunshine. He's just under 11 foot long.

He's about 14 kilos and about eight years old.

Whoa! A bit bigger than our Elvis!

He's huge!

It was quite scary when you stood next to it.

When I saw it, it was bigger than me!

This one, he'll eat rats or rabbits.

MOUTHS

A rabbit he'll eat once a month.

In the wild, the large ones of these could eat adult deer as well.

These guys use inward-pointing teeth to grab their prey

and then wrap their body round it, killing it by constriction.

Does anyone want to touch Mr Sunshine?

Wow! Great going, guys! I would never be able to touch that snake!

You can hold him as well. Feel how heavy he is.

-Ooh, wow! Ooh, heavy!

-Is he heavy?

-Yeah!

-What does he feel like?

-Not slimy, as such.

Just like heavy and like smooth.

A little bit bumpy.

-A little bit bumpy.

-Those are the scales.

Snake scales are made of the same material as our fingernails.

Bet you didn't think we had something in common with snakes!

Extreme pets. Great animals, but certainly not for everyone.

All the celebs want to bring their pets to Pet School.

Today, Strictly Come Dancing's Artem popped in to catch up with the kids

with his two cats, Hudson and Orlando.

Artem shot to fame as one of the professional dancers

in Strictly Come Dancing.

Originally from Russia, he's toured the world,

loves fast cars and adores his cats.

Welcome to Pet School, Artem!

They're a special breed. They're called Pixie-bobs.

-Wow!

-That's a big cat!

Pixie-bob cats should be kept inside.

Whilst Artem goes off to look at our pets,

he leaves Hudson and Orlando in the comfort of their cat carrier.

That's Primrose and that's Pickles.

Rachel has a chance to show Artem her new pet buddies, the chickens.

I'll come round the brown ones,

because the black one is quite stroppy.

So you grab them from each side?

-Yeah.

-OK, I'm on the hunt!

It looks easy, but not really!

-Yay!

-Yeah!

-It's my first chicken!

Oh, he's so cute!

If I hold it like this, will he bite?

-No.

-Look at those teeth!

Oh, gosh, you actually picked one up!

This is the bearded dragon.

Wow, this is amazing!

-He looks like a dinosaur!

-A real dinosaur!

You just have to support all four legs and his stomach.

He's amazing. There's a lot of needles sticking out!

But he's actually very soft.

I think you guys are so lucky to be in Pet School.

I wish I was when I was young.

Sadly, it's time for Artem to pirouette out of Pet School.

Micah's still not too confident with Molly.

But Sophie's enjoying her pet buddying time with Kiki.

Ysabel, Sam and Liam won't be spending time with their buddies.

-Because of their fish tank failure...

-Time up.

..they've got to pick up on their Pet Practice.

-I take it you know why we're here, guys?

-Mm-hm.

Your time ran out. You did one fish tank and you left these guys.

You'll have to finish this task off. Unfortunately,

you won't be able to play with your buddies, either.

'After finding out the right way to do it, our pet-heads crack on.'

Is it working?

-Oh, gosh.

-That is awesome!

-Take it out. Take it out.

-Stop it. Stop it.

The old water comes out...

Didn't know water was so heavy!

..fish get fed,

and in goes the new treated water.

Try not to spill it this time, Liam!

-It smells.

-Here it comes.

-I'm gonna pour it on you.

-Done.

-Done. Cool.

-Run out.

-Yeah, it's finished.

So that's two fish tanks cleaned. Eventually!

And remember the messy store room!

Who made that mess? Not mentioning any names!

You got all of it wet.

-No.

-We've got three minutes.

I'm here to help.

-Wow, he's good at making a mess!

-Hmm.

Well done. Liam set a new Pet Practice record.

Just three hours and 45 minutes!

In the ferrets enclosure, Kitts is awake,

ready and waiting for a new pet buddy.

How's Chris feeling about it?

Mixed emotions at the moment.

I'm nervous, excited, happy, sad.

I'm every emotion that I can be.

'I guess what I was scared of

'is the fact that they've been recorded as having giant claws

'and always bite people. Stuff like that.'

Yeah, Chris. Many people think that, but they're wrong.

I don't think it senses any danger.

It senses danger if I go up to his head, I think.

So I'm just going to stay on its body, just to be sure.

'I was a little bit nervous,'

but I was also trying to avoid the ferret

cos it's a really small space.

And, um...

Stepping on your pet buddy isn't a very good way to introduce yourself!

Chris has sorted his ferret fear.

But out on the field, can Micah do the same with Molly?

Good girl. Good!

Good.

She won't let me stroke her!

I don't want her to bite my hand. She probably won't, but still.

Oh, thank you!

I think Micah's a bit nervous around Molly.

He tries to stroke her and she just turns round to see what he's doing.

And then he jumps away!

Try and stroke her again, Micah.

Yeah, I will, now she's a bit calmer.

Molly, man!

Chill out!

It's just me.

I like stroking dogs. Steady, now.

I didn't even try anything.

-Come on, Molly. Come on.

-Walk.

Do you think we're going to get on well with the dogs, then?

Yes, hopefully. Kiki, you're such a good girl.

Yeah, Molly's all right.

Molly's good. You need to have more confidence around her.

I have confidence!

Micah's still got a way to go with Molly.

But that's what Pet School is all about - support.

Sophie's getting on with both Kiki and Molly.

Ysabel has done amazingly to hold a snake.

And Liam's bonding with the bunnies.

Oh, my gosh!

'I call Micah's mum in for an update.'

Reena's very concerned.

'Sam's in a sticky situation with his new pet buddies.'

Really? What am I supposed to do

with things that look like sticks?

'CBBC's Chris and Dodge pay a visit to Pet School.'

'And there's a great escape in the chicken coop!'

Oh, no! The chicken escaped!
