Episode 7 Relic: Guardians of the Museum

The British Museum, London, one of the oldest museums on Earth.

By day, visitors come to see the treasures within, but by night, it's a different story.

I sense three children approaching.

They're here.

Welcome to the British Museum.

You're about to embark on a wondrous adventure,

one that you shall never forget.

I'm Agatha, your tour guide, but I'm no ordinary tour guide.

For you see, I am, in fact, dead. But don't be scared.

I'm the least frightening thing you'll come across tonight.

Now, I'm looking for three more Guardians for the Museum.

-Are you up to the challenge?

-Lucas.

-Max.

-Lorelle.

-You must be wondering why you've been summoned here in the middle of the night.

Listen carefully.

You have just one night to discover the secrets and mysteries

of the relic held deep within these walls.

You'll face three challenges.

Each challenge will unlock a vision about your relic.

Pass the challenge and you will all see the visions.

Fail and the vision will be revealed to just one of you and you will have

only their memory to rely on.

Your knowledge of the three visions will be tested in the final battle,

when you come face to face with the Dark Lord.

Succeed and you'll become Guardians of the Museum

and receive the Golden Scarab.

Fail and you'll become relics yourselves

and part of the Museum forever.

Agatha!

-Did you hear that?

-Yes.

-That's the Dark Lord. He knows

you're here and he'll be sending his dark forces to seek you out.

We're not safe here. Follow me.

Run as fast as you can, Agatha.

My dark forces are coming for the children.

EVIL CACKLING

Right. Are we all all right?

-Yes.

-Did any of you see anything on the way?

-No.

-Right. Well, let's just hope we weren't followed.

Now, to learn about your relic you must see a vision and, to do that,

you have to complete a challenge.

Your first challenge takes place where these three fellows come from.

Well, let's not dilly dally.

Gather round, quickly. Hold on nice and tight. Are you ready?

-Yes.

-Oh, you're going to love this.

Off we go.

-Oh, goodness me! That was quite a bumpy ride, wasn't it?

-Yes.

Let's see where we are.

Ah, hieroglyphs.

We must be in Egypt.

Now, your first challenge is

to decode these hieroglyphs that spell out the pharaoh's name.

Now, that code is on the other side

of this wall, written on the side of three sarcophagi.

So all you do is, you take your archaeological brush

and, one at a time, you dive through this hole, like so.

Once you're on the other side, you rush over to one of the sarcophagi

and you dust away some of the sand using your brush

and you will find a letter.

If that letter corresponds to one of the hieroglyphs on the golden mummy,

it will revolve and you can return to your team-mates.

If, however, it doesn't correspond, you will have waken one of these

three mummies. You must decode all five hieroglyphs on the golden mummy

before you awaken all three mummies on this side of the tomb.

Now, I need hardly tell you that if you pass,

all three of you will get to see the vision.

If you fail, only one of you will see the vision.

-Whoa!

-Right. Here is your brush and you can go in...

Three, two, one. Go!

Give him some words of encouragement, chaps.

-Come on, Lucas! Come on!

-Oh, watch out for those mummies.

Which one are you going to go for? You have to say what you can see.

The vision begins in South America

over 500 years ago. We're in a mine.

I sense something precious.

Raw silver. But what's it for?

Coins!

The silver is made into coins.

I'm getting the name pieces of eight,

so called as each piece is worth eight Spanish coins.

I sense the coins are moving across the mountains of the Andes

en route to the Caribbean.

The precious cargo is ready for the next leg of its journey.

But wait, I sense danger. Oh!

The image is fading.

We're coming back to the Museum,

back to the Museum, back to the Museum.

Oh, goodness me! So, Lucas, you and you alone have seen the first vision.

-Now, your team-mates are relying on you to remember everything. Do you think you can do it?

-Yeah.

Oh, and here they are now! Quickly, quickly, chaps.

Now did you see any dark forces while we were gone?

used to make coins called pieces of eight.

It was going towards a Caribbean island

and in the background, it says they were heading for danger.

But whatever you do, you must not choose Pandora's box.

If you open Pandora's box three times, you will fail.

Now, be warned! The evil can move between the boxes each time,

so choose very wisely.

And I cannot stress this enough, do not open Pandora's box.

The galleon, it's leaving the Caribbean,

sailing out into the Atlantic Ocean.

Look, it still holds the coins.

It's heading home to Spain. I sense a threat to the ship and its cargo.

The ship is under attack.

Pirates... they want the pieces of eight

and will kill anyone who stands in their way.

Gunpowder, smoke.

The image is fading.

We're coming back to the Museum,

back to the Museum, back to the Museum.

-Oh, goodness!

-Agatha!

-Oh, quickly, chaps, quickly.

Now, Max, you and you alone have seen the second vision.

Your team-mates here are relying on you to remember

everything you've seen. So tell them everything that you remember.

Well, there were pirates boarding and they were trying to get

the pieces of eight.

They were in serious danger.

And that's what we have over here.

These are three of Emperor Nero's naughtiest slaves

and they'd do well to look nervous, because look down here.

Ooh, crumbs!

He looks a bit ferocious, doesn't he? A very ferocious-looking lion.

I like to call him Mr Clumps. He'll still rip your arms off though.

Now, before you are eight pouches and it's your job to find three

pardon scrolls and set all three slaves free.

But beware,

there are also fight cards. Now,

if you find a fight card, you must pick a slave to feed to the lions.

To pass, you must find all three pardon scrolls

before you lose all your slaves, OK?

coins as the country's official currency.

The king will use it

to build up his army, so that Spain can defend its great empire.

I see many parts of the world will be ruled by this great power.

The coins will become the world's first global currency.

The image is fading. We're coming back to the Museum,

Oh! OK, so we've all seen the final vision.
