-Out in the countryside, in the
-hedges that separate the fields...
-..little flower shepherds live.
-Little flower shepherds
-are small creatures...
-..which live in the leaves
-If you were out walking in
-the countryside with your parents...
-..you'd never see them,
-but they're there.
-The little flower shepherds
-are small enough...
-..to ride on the back
-of bumble bees.
-They're very clever.
-Their work is to look after
-the flowers, plants and wild fruit.
-they grow on their own...
-..but the little flower shepherds
-look after them.
-During the summer, they look
-after the berries and flowers...
-..which grow in the hedges.
-It's been like this forever.
-All the little flower shepherds
-are happy to do the work...
-..but one was different - Draenen.
-He was in trouble all the time,
-ever since he was a little seed.
-The problem was
-Draenen did things without thinking.
-the leader of the shepherds...
-..would tell Draenen
-time and time again...
-..that he should think
-before doing anything.
-And to listen.
-But Draenen never listened
-when Sgweiar Ysgawen told him to.
-He wasn't a naughty shepherd...
-..but he could win medals
-for being in trouble.
-And this story is no exception.
-The squire stood in the gorse in
-front of all the flower shepherds.
-their responsibilities for the day.
-Amranth's job was to check
-on the blackberries in the hedges.
-It was summer and they should
-be starting to appear.
-Mwdlyn was meant to check the river
-which flowed through the field...
-..and fetch reeds to make new beds.
-As all the little flower shepherds
-accepted their tasks...
-..they all flew out of the gorse
-on their bumble bees...
-..leaving only Draenen behind.
-Sgweiar Ysgawen turned to him
-and said quietly...
-.."Well, now then, Draenen,
-you're the last out today...
-"..because you have
-a very important job.
-"It might be
-the most important job of the day.
-"It's the middle of summer
-and butterflies are all around.
-"Your task for today
-and the following days...
-"..is ensure the butterflies don't
-go anywhere near the blackcurrants.
-"Send them all away -
-do you understand?
-"Nowhere near the blackcurrants."
-Sgweiar Ysgawen trusted Draenen
-to complete this task.
-He hoped that Draenen
-To be honest, by the time
-he reached his bumble bee...
-..Draenen had forgotten everything
-he'd been told in the gorse.
-When he saw a field
-full of butterflies...
-..he knew precisely
-what he was going to do.
-He was going to play
-his favourite game...
-So, all morning and afternoon, all
-he did was chase the butterflies.
-Draenen was having a wonderful time.
-When his bumble bee needed a rest,
-they sat on a large, fat flower.
-The butterflies flew
-wherever they wanted to go...
-..especially near the blackcurrants.
-Draenen had forgotten...
-..that they weren't to go
-near the blackcurrants.
-For the next few days,
-Draenen woke up early...
-..and played with the butterflies.
-The sun shone, the birds chirped...
-..and Draenen had fun.
-What was more fun than having fun?
-One morning, Draenen awoke...
-..to the sound of Sgweiar Ysgawen
-calling his name.
-The squire didn't sound happy
-Truth be told,
-he sounded very angry.
-"Draenen!" said the squire...
-.."I gave you one job, one
-important job - do you remember?"
-"Of course I do," said Draenen.
-But we all know he didn't.
-"You asked me...
-"Sorry, I've forgotten."
-"Make sure the butterflies went
-nowhere near the blackcurrants.
-"That's the one thing I asked
-you to do and you didn't do it.
-"Look at the blackcurrants.
-They're covered in caterpillars."
-"Oh, no," said Draenen.
-He finally realised what he'd done.
-that become butterflies.
-"They love eating blackcurrants.
-"Draenen, I'm so disappointed.
-will eat all the blackcurrants.
-"As things stand, we won't
-have enough food for the winter."
-Draenen knew he hadn't listened
-He also knew he had
-to make things right again.
-Suddenly, he had an idea.
-He chased after Sgweiar Ysgawen.
-"Oh, I know I've done
-"I know how to make things right.
-"If you put your faith in me
-"..I promise not to disappoint you."
-Even though the squire
-was disappointed and angry...
-..he was also very wise.
-If Draenen could rectify this
-problem, he could trust him again.
-Draenen asked all
-the little flower shepherds...
-..to meet him at the gorse hall.
-He told them to fly over the hedges
-to where the spiders lived.
-They were to collect
-as many cobwebs as they could.
-Soon, hundreds of them flew high
-on their bumble bees...
-..with long strips
-of silky webs in their hands.
-"Now then," shouted Draenen
-over the buzz of the bumble bees...
-..create a lasso from your webs,
-grab the nearest caterpillar...
-..lift it up and take it over
-to the leaves in the field.
-The shepherds did exactly
-what Draenen had told them to do.
-There was plenty of food
-for the caterpillars in the field.
-Yes, Draenen saved the day
-and made everything right once more.
-But he never forgot
-what happened that day.
-Now, he always thinks and listens
-before doing anything.
